Excellent service and got me right in without a appointment on a Sunday morning. They were quit expensive charging almost $300 just to change the spark plugs. To me that seems like highway robbery!!

My Dad was visiting me from McGill, NV. Which is near Ely. His headlight went out on his 2013 Ford XLT.Brandon from Pep Boys was most helpful! He figured it out right away. He pointed out Ford gave him the wrong owners manual for his truck. Which is why we had such trouble trying to change it ourselves.He changed both headlamps within 15 minutes. Wonderful Service!!
Dont fall for a lie that they cant patch a tire due low tred they tried to make me buy overpriced tires. Then they patched it when I let em know I know about cars. Then they were rude when I picked up the car.

Pep Boys on Mooney in Visalia is ALWAYS slammed. There is ALWAYS a line at the service counter, there is almost never an open bay in their garage. Some may see this as a problem. I see it as proof of customer satisfaction. I could name other garages in town that are nowhere near as busy. Manny, Moe and Jack always have the part I need or they use their network to get it delivered asap. My personal experience at this shop has been exceptional. A few years ago, Pep Boys was selected by our company fleet management and they take great care of our vehicles. Their diagnostics are detailed, accurate, and not unnecessarily inflated. Our service deadlines are consistently met or exceeded. Despite their relentless work load, their staff are upbeat, responsive, professional, helpful, and willing to take a moment to answer a quick question with a smile. These guys ROCK!

Just a service center now the store closed in April. Good price on full synthetic oil change. Can make appointment online and the system works well. Staff are efficient and friendly. They were nice to my wife without me there, so well keep going there.

Everything is awesome there. I needed to get my tires done explained i need to sit down due to medical they did not care and said no sitting. I go to clovis and they put me in an area where I may sit and away from others. My reviews will show the chair. I have leaned on your tires asked for a chair visalia office does not care if i fall or how much pain I was in. So I drive to clovis.
So surprised they no longer sell goods but only provide service. Their service has always been good and reasonable in my experiences.

I absolutely appreciated the help I was given, he didnt try to sell me anythin. He just checked my tires for wear when I asked for tire rotations. He realized they were even n recommended I didnt need it done.
Came in for ac service ok experience. Picked up my car after AC service and my driver seat wouldnt move backwards, after they were unable to move the seat backwards I took a 12-volt battery at home and got to actuate backwards in about 3 minutes. How can an auto repair shop send somebody home with their knees in the dashboard after breaking there seat? Doesnt seem safe and something simple the mechanics can fix, just try to sell you the replacement part or service.
Not really impressed. Very polite staff, although the mechanic actually under my hood either didnt speak much English or just didnt speak much at all. They were super busy and understaffed, too. When I made the appointment the previous day, i did so with the intention of getting an A.C. recharge, but on the day of the appointment the A.C. tech was already too busy. They took care of the other things I wanted, did free inspections of brakes and fluids and alerted me that my air filters needed changing, typical stuff. I did have to ask them for a new mileage sticker for my oil change. I would have given them five stars except for the problem of my hubcaps - Id been driving for miles and miles since my last tire rotation, up and down hills, offroading and dodging California drivers, all with the same hubcaps, and two of my hubcaps fell off within ten minutes of leaving the shop. The customer service mechanic insisted the hubcaps were already broken when i came in, which I guess isnt impossible, but Im still kind of wondering, did i piss someone off?

These guys SAVED OUR VACATION. Got a flat tire passing through town. Called almost all tire shops in the area and visited several that all claimed it was impossible to repair given the thin tread depth. Pep Boys took the time to measure our tire tread accurately and discovered it had almost 3x the depth Sears Tire believed. We were able to get a quick fix even on one of the busiest days of the year! We were able to make Thanksgiving because staff at Pep Boys actually cared. We know who to call first next time.

Cost only $22 to change my oil with my oil and oil filter. Another place would have cost $35. You easy get Walmarts full synthetic for around $12 to $14 and filter for $4 to $8 depends on the car and how good the filter is
The service is limited. Wasted my time, because they didnt carry oil for a PowerStroke motor. Definitely not going to waste my time with them in the future

Worse customer service. Gentlemen was chewing on a straw while being a jerk. You get better service at a fast food restaurant. I came in for an inspection and i didnt have the form. Instead of telling me they need it and rescheduling, he kept asking me why my cell phone didnt say i needed the form. I explained several times its a cell phone. Its not going to talk back.
Do not understand the point of setting up an appointment. I had one today for 2pm, came in about 1:45pm wont count that time. Its 4:15pm now. I have been outside walking around to kill time. When I came back at 4:10pm I asked for an ETA on my vehicle... the person in service went into the garage, moved my keys to the other side and told me 30 minutes. I appreciate this place but not convenient for oil changes, even when you utilize their appointment system. Next Time I will visit an Oil Changers location and get the 15 minute treatment.Pep Boys otherwise is ok. But I was hoping using their appointment system would at least provide some level of speed to it. This place obviously works cause its been car after car after car. But they need to overhaul their appointment system.
Just moved to the area...very disappointed. Quoted me a price for a radiator flush...when I got there they tried to sneak in an extra $20 charge for the antifreeze. I complained and they removed it. I came back and they still tried to add it back on. Upon returning I asked if they installed the engine filter. The lady said probably. I said I paid for it to be put on not probably to be put on. I told her I would need to check when I got home. She said the mechanic could check real quick. I waited another 20 minutes. He checked but it had not been installed. Seem dishonest. She wouldnt even take the 40$ off said I would have to come back in the morning. They also tried to sell me stuff I didnt need (battery). Beware. I am looking elsewhere. I am going to have to take my car to another mechanic to verify they actually did change the brakes and actually replaced the radiator fluid. Honesty is very important to me...it is not worth it. I would pay extra for an honest company...my car is too important to me. Do you really want to always be wondering if they are honest? Unbelievable. They offered me a free oil change...yeah right...Ill never let them touch my car again.
They use to be really good but they have changed so much of the years. Most the guys in back dont know parts very well & make you do all the working pulling up the parts you need online so they can check their data base & to top it off the guys wont change a tire without checking out your entire vehicle first without your permission then coming to you & telling you you need this & that done & that your vehicle looks like it may have been in an accident but you then when you insure them that your vehicle has never been in an accident & that your vehicle has is up to date & doesnt need this or that done to it like theyre saying they do, they argue & tell you they cant give you your vehicle back until you get it fixed for safety reasons then once you get the police involved theyre forced to give you your vehicle back since its against the law for them to hold it hostage in the first place. Dont recommend this place to anyone & I wont ever be going back.
Went in to buy new windshield wipers I asked if they could install them. The service guy said sure no problem go and pull your vehicle up and one of the mechanics will help you. 15min of waiting, five empty car ports, no mechanic would wave me into be assisted, and three of the mechanics kept running and hiding every time I’d try to approach them or they would give me super annoyed looks. So I go back and let them know that the mechanics are ignoring me, they say ok let me tell the guys, 15 min later nothing. If they were busy I totally would understand but five empty car ports. Anyways YouTube it and I will definitely not be going back to this place.

Went in to have my ac serviced and filled and also my oil changed. great fast service very polite and informative. like how they do a full vehicle inspection with purchase of any service. had an air bubble in my radiator after the drain an fill went in the next day and cleared it for me free of charge. they didnt push services i couldnt afford at that specific time but did inform me on things i would be needing soon. would recommend! when you walk in see Earl he will take care of you.

Every time Ive taken my vehicles in here for service it always starts out to be cheap and turns into a $500 to $600 repair. Just seems like they always do more than they need to and charge you for it the only thing that they really got going for them is theyre open 7 days a week. The products in the store itself are pretty cool can get a lot of stuff for cheap and they got a lot of good stuff I just dont recommend them for auto repair at all its hard to find a good place these days to get your car fixed Ive been screwed over a two or three places.

Waited an hour past my appointment, because their system allowed for 3 appointments at 11. The person whose truck was up before mine came in and asked why her truck was still on the rack at noon. I then discovered that they had only left her truck on the rack because they had recommendations that they wanted to make to her. This was after she had already told them that she was not going to perform any more service on her vehicle today. They also told me that my oil change would take 30 minutes to an hour. In what world does it take an hour to perform a basic oil change? When the woman in front of me tried to pay for her oil change, it took the employee 20 minutes to ring her up because he could not figure out how to use the system. While I realize that the issues with the system are not the fault of this specific store, this entire process has been completely ridiculous and I certainly wont be returning any time soon. Not to any Pep Boys, if these problems were corporate issues. Its 12:20 and my car has still not moved from its parking spot.
They are a rip off they wanted to charge me for things I did not even need for my air conditioning their estimate was 3,400 took it to another shop they checked the ac out and charged it works great. They had a good laugh on pep boys estimate BEWARE
My daughter made an appointment for 10am today at pep boys off of Mooney blv so she could pay for a 4 wheel alignment. We were told that it would be about 1 1/2 hr job and that they would call us if it was done sooner. We decided to walk over to Ryan restaurant for some breakfast and stay there about 2hrs. I talked my daughter into walking back over to check up on her car because they havent called her yet? We asked if her car was done and they took another 10 minutes to ask the person that was supposed to work on the car. We then was informed that she needed to purchase a special bolt that would cost about 15 dollars and another 110.00 for labor because they couldnt do the alignment without this bolt and to top it off it wasnt in stock.They then informed us that they couldnt get the bolt until Monday. The big Question Is ? Why did it take us to walk back over to Pep Boys after over 2 hrs to find this out? We were given a answer of they didnt notice it until they tried to complete the job. So the big question is why didnt they just call my daughter instead of waiting till we ask if her car was ready? What would have fixed the so called misunderstanding is Pep Boys should have gave my daughter a 50 percent discount in labor cost and apologized for the mix-up so they could quarantine a happy customer ? I myself would never bring my car to Pep Boys because they are not reliable and they dont care about returning customers.
Had my wife take our truck in to get brakes checked out. Was hearing intermittent grinding every now and then. They said we needed new pads all around, resurfaced rotors in front and new rotors in rear. Was going to be almost $600. We wanted another opinion and took to big brand in tulare. Pep boys gave her a hard time about not wanting them to do the work. Big brand says front brake pads have 5mm(recommend replace is 3mm) and front rotors are fine. Rear rotor needs replace and other rear can be resurfaced with pads on both rear. $275.Pep boys has 0 integrity in my book. I thought I would give them another chance after burning the bridge years ago. FAIL
Went in for a back window wiper. Was helped finding the right one for our car. Had difficulty trying the do it myself replacement. Asked one of the young men in the repair garage for help. He came out took off the old and replaced the new wiper. Very friendly service all the way around.

They were super friendly when I went in to get an oil change and inquire about tires with no appointment. However, every single person that went in for one problem was given a list of other problems that needed to be fixed with a hefty price tag. My husband and I decided to just do the oil change and wait on tires so when the oil change is done they come out and give us a list of things we need to fix. My husband is handy and knows how to work on cars and knows what he’s recently done to my car so he knew most of the things they listed were fine. I went to sblther tire shop and asked them to check the same things and they said there were no issues. I know they have to sell their products to make money but the fact they are trying to steal money from innocent people is sickening. Won’t be coming back.

Earlier this week I was told by Autozone they didn’t carry the size of oil filters I needed replaced so to try Pepboys, after driving off with the replaced oil filter, there was some loud rattling and scraping sounds going on with my vehicle so I had my girlfriend return it to pep boys who inspected and said the previous mechanic must’ve not put a metal plate back on correctly and it had came loose and was dragging on the ground and that it was damaged so it’s able to be tightened back on but the damage caused it not to be placed perfectly as it has a bend or mishaps to it. They were cool about replacing fresh oil for no charge and apologized but now I have a damaged piece in my new car I just purchased. Still not sure what I’m going to do.

Update: after some correspondence with PepBoys, they invited me back to the store for a refund on the restocking fee. Alex, the manager, was very apologetic and friendly. I appreciate their willingness to work with me and accommodate my situation, therefore I have adjusted my rating. Thanks PepBoys!I’ll admit, I knew I would be charged a 20% restocking fee to return my item at the time of purchase, but that doesn’t change the fact: restocking fees (particularly on unused, unopened items) = corporate greed... Then they wonder why consumers turn to Amazon. I purchased snow chains for an upcoming trip and moments later discovered I had other chains that would fit. I returned my item within an hour of purchase and was shown no mercy. I would not recommend anyone support businesses that operate on the basis of mass profit over customer service.
We stopped last minute on our way to Walmart and/ Lowes for a trailer hitch light adapter. We couldnt find at the four other stores we had tried and decided to see if they had it. They did! Easy to find, decent price and fast check out! A 10 minute stop versus the other two stores with chaotic parking and then having to walk thru half the store to get what you need.

I purchased some Hancook tires from Pep Boys a little over a year ago and during that time two of the tires have developed side bubbles on the tires. Today I came in to get a replacement and scheduled an appt for 11 am. It so now 1 pm and Im still waiting for them to get the car into the bay. I was told it would still probably be at least another 30 minutes. This means it will be a minimum of 3 hours to get a single tire replaced. Ridiculous.
These guys are an absolute rip off, my friend a young lone female got towed here. They quoted her 1000 bucks to fit a fuel pump 200 bucks more than any other garage in the area, dropped the price to match it in a second, mis diagnosed the issue even after I spoke to them on the phone and asked them to re check a plug that commonly gets corroded, quoted her for a heap of other work that they couldnt explain to me on the phone why it needed doing and 5000km later still doesnt need doing. Car got re towed to another pep boys for the same fault where they charged her 60 bucks labour to fit a battery (most places offer free battery fitting). Picked my car up same fault fixed it by replacing the corroded plug.Would not recommend them.
I am very satisfied with the service. I brought my Tesla Model S in for 2 tire replacement and wheel alignment (impractical to drive to nearest Tesla Service Center thats hundreds of miles from Visalia, CA.) Although the staff never did a Tesla before but they all were very professional and followed manufacturers instructions as well as specifications very carefully. I generally dislike Pep Boys in general because theyre just one of those stores who arent trendy anymore. I place them in the category along with RadioShack and Kmart which is mostly useless for what they are because there are plenty of other stores to choose from that are either nicer, have a better selection, or just do things better. The only service I would truly trust Pep Boys to take care of would be to replace my windshield wiper blades. Tires? Brakes? Alignment? Fluids? Nope. Ill gladly go to a tire shop where they will get things done right, thank you very much. This location in particular is bad about ignoring you when youre ready to check out. I literally got greeted when I walked in, was assisted finding the thing that I was looking for without requesting for assistance, and then promptly ignored when ready to pay because there was no cashier to be found anywhere in the store.
NEVER COME HERE !!!!! I went in for a brake inspection and they ended up telling me I had many different issues and my total was 1,700 . I had no leaks or issues with my vehicle the morning of and now I have a water pump leak and my vehicle is over heating . ( that was one of the issues they listed) and they refuse to take responsibility. -5 stars!!!!!!
Horrible Experience!!! I went in for a brake job and to inquire about possibly purchasing new tires. After inspecting my vehicle I was told that I needed new brake pads all the way around and 1 rotar needed to be replaced. I agreed to the brake job which ended up costing me 380.00$. While the brakes were being fixed I made a separate deal which was for four new tires and tire rods which I washed told needed to be replaced, I prepaid over $800 and was told they could install them in two days. Long story short... They finished replacing everything for my brakes and I left with my vehicle. Upon my return for the tires two days later I informaned them that my vehicle still sounded the same Ie: grinding, squealing, metal on metal sound. I was told it was probably just dust on the pads and theyd clean them up. When I finally left the shop I found that the noises were getting even louder rather than going away like they said. I returned to the shop two days later with the same complaint. They said theyd do another brake inspection but the wait would be hours long. Not having the time to wait all day down there they scheduled me an appointment for the following week. So now two weeks into the new brakes I get them inspected and Im told i need all 4 new brake pads and 4 new rotors that they are all warped. After explaining over and over to the manager that theres no possible way I went thru brand new brake pads and warped 4 rotars driving from the shop to my house a whole 3 miles before it started making the same noises as before they put them on. The manager denied the possibility of pep boys being responsible for any of it. So in conclusion my 380.00 brake job lasted me for one day and now Im even worse off then before.

I wont be coming back. I had ordered some items online with a rewards card I had. I came to pick up after they sent an email saying it was ready, but no one was there. There was one guy behind the parts counter that was tied up with a customer. I called out for help and no one showed. I could someone in the managers office so I called out again. Still no answer. So I left. Came back a couple of days later got my stuff and decided not to ever go back. This was not the only negative experience I had at this store. Tried to give them a chance to fix it. Doesnt seem they want to fix it.
If I could give NO STARS I would. I took my car in on Saturday and paid a lot of money for repairs and on Tuesday it completely died and needed a new alternator. They insisted it was nothing they did and refused to fix the problem free of charge. I will NEVER give this company another dime.

Easy to order online. They seem to always have a good deal going on with prices. If you order online to a different store by mistake, they will correct it for you and get you what you need right there and then. Pep boys is the most affordable out of all the big name auto parts stores. I live in Porterville and work in visalia. I waited until I went back to work tmso I can buy my parts at pep boys because they beat the competition by a landslide.
The saddest thing is that you guys were my go-to shop, but after being charged for a tow and you guys dont even do transmission work. I relinquish my praises for you being my go-to shop. Yet, I will still keep you guys 5th on my list of favs.

I made a appointment to have a trannsmission flush on my girlfriend car. We took the car in, when we got there the guy told us that the machine was broken..we drove all the way from Selma to Visalia, they could have called us to let us know that the machine was broken, they had our phone number...so the next week we made a new appointment for the same thing to flush the transmission...i told the guy on the phone that they should give a discount on the transmission flush sibce they missup the first time.. the guy agreed to do the service at a lower price. I brought the car in for the transmission service..the clerk said t o leave the car in, it would be about a 2 hours so idid. I took off, 1 hour later i got a phone call from pep boys, the guy said that my car needed a special fittibg to do the job and they couldnt do it..i got suspicious so i called a other pep boys in a different town, i was told by the other pep boys store that my car didnt need a special fitting ti do the transmission flush...the Pep Boys in Visalia lied about my car needing a special fitting in order to do the service because they didnt want to honor the d iscount price they quoted me for missing up with my first appointment...i will never go back to Pep Boys in Visalia Ca!
Paid to have my coolant flushed and thermostat replaced and all they did was change my coolant and didnt even make sure it was full. I feel like I have to check to see if they even changes my thermostat. This place is a joke. Go some place else.
