The team at Bayside Tire & Auto are always welcoming, friendly and professional. I have been using them for a few years for my annual inspection and oil changes. Additionally, I use them for any other repair work as necessary. The pricing is reasonable and I have confidence that the work is done correctly. Tip - don’t wait until the last minute to schedule the annual inspection. When I went they were working about three weeks out on inspections.

A different shop had recently done my state inspection and told me it’s almost time for new tires and brakes... well I’m new to the area and decided to follow up on that. I set off to find a new tire shop near me. I called Bayside because of proximity and brought my car over- the tech was upfront and honest with me; he took a look at my vehicle and concluded that I don’t need new tires or breaks right away, and even showed me what to look for so I’d know when it’s truly time to bring the car in.I cannot express how much of a relief it is to find a shop that’s not interested in screwing me over just to make a quick buck! I will definitely be returning when it’s time for maintenance! Thank you so much!

Apart from checking and changing fluids at regular intervals my mechanical knowledge is minimal, therefore I ask A TON of questions whenever a major repair is required. Everyone I have worked with at Bayside has been patient and given clear explanations that I can understand as to what needs fixing and why. They have been true to the quote on time till completion and cost. I’m very pleased and trust them with all of my vehicle issues.

We have been customers of Bayside Tire & Auto for at least 15 years, but, sadly, not anymore. The quality of the auto service and professionalism of their mechanics is still great, but not the customer service. Last week, while getting new tires, the two men in the small front office were not wearing masks. I was told that they were not required to wear them, so I chose to wait outside. The temperatures were in the 30s and I waited for almost an hour. Who lets a 68-year-old woman wait outside in the cold without putting on a mask so she can come inside? Well, they did. I understand that it is their choice to not wear a mask and it was my choice to wait outside because I was uncomfortable with that, but it is also my choice to not do business with that company again. I though it was rude and inconsiderate.

On our way home from Virginia beach the ac gave out after stopping at three different places and no luck, we stop here sure enough without hesitation they fit us in and got it fix. Jim and the other service guy(sorry didnt catch your name) was extremely friendly professional and honestly went above and beyond.

I went to Bayside to have new tires installed and to receive a state inspection. It was very easy to schedule an appointment. On the day I was to have the work done, I dropped the car off around 8 am and was called and told I could pick up my car around 12:30. I was very impressed with Baysides timeliness and value for the work that was done.

Bruce was invaluable with his kind assistance when my car had to be taken to the dealership for factory repairs that could not be done at the Bayside garage. He personally dealt with the dealership on my behalf in order to assure that the work was appropriate and cost effective. This was service above and beyond! Needed a boat trailer inspection. Never been to Bayside before but they are close to where I store my boat trailer. Called made an appointment for 3 PM about 5 days out. I showed up about 10 minutes early for my appointment they came out and greeted me, immediately did the inspection. Didn’t Nickle & dime me over some subjective points just mentioned a few things that could be improved upon which I was aware and put on the inspection sticker (my trailer met the min requirements but some inspection stations use the manual subjective areas to gin up work – not Bayside) – very professional group.I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. As I live on the west side of Norfolk, my only regret is that Bayside is not closer to me as I would be a frequent customer for all my future vehicle requirements based on my experience on January 4th, 2021.

This was my first visit to this shop. The customer service was excellent and very professional. I highly recommend this shop and will be a returning customer.

Went in for a diagnostic test on my low oil pressure light. I guess they skipped the diagnostics because they ended up changing the one thing that I specifically told them was NOT the issue...the sensor. I guess they didnt even bother performing a pressure test because $400 later my light still on. I called up to the location about 3-4x and was told to call back the next day because the man who worked on the car was not in at the time and still have yet to speak with him. Well now my car doesnt work and I cant afford to take it back for them to play guessing games. The only good experience I had at this location was that everyone that works here were very nice and they filled my tires without me asking. Thank you for thatUpdate: as you can see the owner responded but I ended up having to contact them myself. Jim was very short with me on the phone. So I popped up at the shop and the man at the desk wouldnt even acknowledge me. Well to make a long story short they claim they rechecked everything and everything is fine with no leaks.. I took it to another mechanic the same day and come to find out..they never even changed the part that they claimed they changed!!! (I saw it with my own 2 eyes) And it was leaking like crazy! Granted if it WAS changed, why lie to my face and say that it wasnt leaking. So not only did they charge me for a diagnostic test that was never performed but they also charged me for a part that was never replaced. Now Im forced to go down to the courthouse because Im getting all of my money back. Scammers!! I work HARD for my money and dont appreciate being taken advantage of.

Just as we left for our trip back to NY, we saw our tire pressure was low. We stopped in and the amazing staff there saw we had a nail, took us in ASAP so we could get in the road, and we were back traveling home in 30 minutes. On a holiday weekend no less! Everyone is very friendly and the tire did great on the 7 hour trip home. Thank you!

I went into bayside auto for a inspection and ended up with almost 1000$ worth of work. They claimed both my lower ball joints where gone when they where not after examination of myself and a mechanic I know told me they are not bad they need to be greased. They will take advantage of you its a gas station.. I should have known better. Just be aware when they tell you somthing make sure they show you not just tell you.

Bruce is so friendly and knowledgeable! 10 out of 10! As a woman with little knowledge about the mechanics of my vehicles, I totally trust Bayside. I used to go to the dealership for everything but now Im exclusive to Bayside. I also trust them to maintain my daughters vehicle when shes home from school! That says it all!

I have been going to Bayside Auto for my cars inspections for longer than I can remember. I always went there because of how good the customer service WAS. Long story short I set up my appointment as usual. Dropped my car off, some hours later I went to pick it up and it failed. I asked if someone could point out what needed to be done and they looked at me like I was crazy. They gave me a pictures print out of one of problems that needed to be fixed and the “master mechanic” said “you can’t decipher that?”. If I worked on cars I probably could have. Had to go to Auto Zone to get their help which was greatly appreciated. Got the two things corrected which really didn’t need to be done to pass. I am in the customer service business and I will never go back to Bayside Auto because of they way I was treated. I was shocked, not sure if Gee has passed or sold the business was but it is NOT THE SAME!

Took a reservation for state inspection. Completed it in an extremely timely manner. Courteous and professional staff

We had a tire that was low on air, and I was concerned about it, we were a 100 miles from home. They were highly recommended and near where we were staying, so I took my car over there. They immediately took it in the bay, removed the tire, tested it for leaks, etc for 20 minutes or so, but not find any problems, just low on air. Best of all they refilled the spare, telling me that was flat and needed 60 lbs of air. They did not charge anything. We came back later on the way out of town and filled up our tank there, and whenever we are in town, thats where we will go..

I broke a valvestem in my tire, and brought it up to Bayside. It’s a big wheel off my truck 22” rim, 37” tire. They took it in right before closing, and I got a call to pick it up right when they opened! Very fair pricing, and speedy service. Will definitely recommend them when I can!

Update to the below review,The owner contacted me the day after this review was posted which was very appreciated. Although mistakes were made, he thoughtfully reviewed all that occurred and offered to pick up the charge for the allignment cost which is necessary after the work performed but they do not do. It turns out the admin fee is to offset the 3% fee for the use of a cc, but this was not stated to me when I questioned...I could have written a check!Anyway, Gee is a very good owner and conscientious.SHADY CANT TRUST!!! took my truck in making a horrible noise and had no steering fluid. Was given an estimate of $2422.14 for replacement of rack and pinion, replace lower ball joints and replacement of power steering pressure hose and cooler. There were two other charges an ADMIN FEE OF $70 AND DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF$ 66.48....BOTH should have been waived if Bayside did the work.. I would happily pay for their time if I had taken it somewhere else....while they were fixing I received a call from Bruce stating that the repairs were done but when they started it was still making that horrible noise and it was a wiring issue common with a 2007 Suburban and they fixed at no charge, I was also told the battery was dead and replacement would cost $258.I told them I had a deal with AAA on replacement and it was under warranty. When the triple A tech arrived they had already disconnected the battery posing a problem with my AAA warranty. Thankfully this was resolved and the tech was allowed to connect and test. The Battery was GOOD and did not need to be replaced .Now I question whether every repair they did was necessary or was it a wiring issue? To Add Insult to Injury my Truck had A different license plate on back and I was told it was my problem... even if it was in their care, custody and control. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS NIGHTMARE!
