So my boyfriend took my car in, in May. We were referred by Vap auto. We had them run a diagnostic test and they said our battery was going out basically. So we paid for that and the diagnostic test, which came to about 350. They stated nothing else was wrong, but one day later it started to do the same thing. They were suppose to email the report but never did. My boyfriend has called several time but no responds. Wow, we just wanted the report, we werent going to come back again, and they were suppose to be christian people. Update...I have contacted you all, and no answer, then you all called my boyfriend to ask about my review, then you all hung up on him. I think thats all that needs to be said, its too bad, cause I was really hoping and praying this mechanic shop would be honest, but I guess thats not yall motto, and still you all havent sent the report. I guess I had to much faith in you all, it wont happen again!

The check engine light on my 2013 Kia Forte koup came on about 2 months ago. It pulled up about 5 different codes and my intake manifold runner control was stuck open and my ac was blowing hot air. First shop suggested I replace my ecu ($1300). I took it it to the Kia dealership and they suggest new ecu and sensor for the ac ($2600). I finally took my car over to mike at Alternative Auto. They found some damaged wires around my transmission cabin and fixed those. My car now works and ac blows super cold. They saved me about $2000 dollars. Thank you guys again.

Our 2014 Jeep Wrangler with 108k miles started having a ticking noise coming from the passenger rear of the engine. From what I could tell it was probably a worn rocker. Took it to the dealer and after a week they said it needed all rockers replaced and a new cam for $2000. Then they tried to talk me into a tuneup for $250 and wanted to replace the radiator for $900. I ended up picking it up and took it to alternative based on all the good reviews. Mike and Karen got to work on the Jeep right away and ended up finding just one bad rocker and replaced it and the spark plug tubes for only a fraction of the price. I’m glad to have found a shop with honest trustworthy people that I’ll be able to use from now on!

My daughters car engine light came.on while on her way to Tulsa. We had thought it was the alternator but wasn’t sure. I wasn’t there with her so it was hard to find someone to trust to fix the car so she could get back home safely. I called and was happy to have someone care enough to make sure my daughters car was fix correctly and more. By taking the time to examining the car before just fixing what we thought it was they saved us more than a lot of money. They allowed us to pay over the phone and kept in contact with us .They were honest and upfront about everything. They left us feeling less stressed and very comfortable even though we don’t them and have never done business with them. Ive had my previous car for almost 4.5 years. It was paid off and I wasnt planning on getting a new vehicle this year. My taxes were spent and then my car broke down in February. That cost $450 (different mechanic shop). Then in April car broke down again but this time were under covid19. Alternative Automotive was 1 of the 2 repair shops open. My car was up and running within a day and reasonably priced (needed a battery to get it running). The owner Mike, informed me that my car was dangerous to drive due to ball pistons and other stuff that still needed to be fixed to make it safe. Mike gave me some helpful information on car shopping. He also was the first mechanic to let me know my car was an accident waiting to happen. I appreciate it that so much because Im not rich. Traded that bad boy in. Now Im a 2018 Kia Soul from Enterprise car sales. Didnt know they sold cars until Mike. Best decision ever. Took a leap of faith and everything fell in order. I came in twice to have some issues on my truck worked on. The owner personally took my truck and made sure there was a thorough check up on my truck done. The first time it had issues, him and his crew stayed over, after closing, to put a new computer in it and program it and get me back on the road. The second time, it was in their shop for a couple days and they kept me up to date on the progress, it was ready in a short time. I am really happy with the work performed and will be returning if anything else happens to my truck or any other vehicle I am driving.

From calling to make the appointment, to fixing my truck and driving it home, Alternative Automotive was fast, efficient, professional, and even squeezed me in at last minute for a much needed transmission flush! I was told it could take up to a day to diagnose the problem, possibly longer to fix it depending on results. Not only did they manage to diagnose the problem within just a couple of hours, they got it fixed with a snap of a finger! And even managed to find the time (they were extremely busy) to squeeze in extra work on my truck. They were honest with me from the get-go, and their prices were less than other shops that I had called. They did not try to talk me into other things that I dont need, as has been my past experience with other mechanics. I think its fair to say that Karen, the wife, runs the office part and Mike and his mechanics run the shop part. You couldnt find a sweeter team! Tried to charge me $103 for an engine diagnostics check when he already knew there was a hole in the side of my engine punched out by a rod failure puncture with no engine oil in the block! On another truck in my flleet, they did not tighten the oil pan plug tight enough. When i took the truck back, they tightened the oil pan plug, but did not check the oil level. Jack Raush would not be proud of this crew.

Came in to replace a door latch on an 02 Mustang. Mike quickly diagnosed that there was in issue with the hinge too, and replacing just the latch would not be a permanent fix. Excellent service, in and out in one day. Less expensive than a dealership too. Feels great knowing I now have a relationship with a great mechanic who can do anything I need to my Ford.

June 2018 - My mother had an issue with her 2009 Ford V8 sport trac jerking as it was driving on the highway. She took it to a dealership that wanted to replace the transmission for 6800 dollars. We heard about Mike at Alternative Automotive and took the vehicle to him. Based on his experience, he suspected right away that the truck did not need a new transmission, but merely a tune up! He tuned it up and even did a BG transmission service. Mike saved us thousands of dollars and for that we are grateful!! The truck runs great. Found a new mechanic to rely on with Alternative Automotive.

Great auto shop, honest people you can trust! They replaced my 208,000+ mile GMCs 5.3L with a fresh Jasper motor, 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty! GMs AFM, automated fuel management isnt the greatest IMHO. They got me a new engine with the standard non-collapsing lifters, deleted the AFM so Im good for another 300,000 miles with proper maintenance from Alternative Automotive. They serviced the transmission, replaced the belts, coolant hoses, water pump and went above and beyond. Great people who are a pleasure to deal with! Cant recommend Alternative Automotive, Mike, Karen and their staff enough.
