I’m from out of town and found this gem via a quick Google search. Absolutely incredible. Purchased bone in pork chops, Japanese Wagyu and Texas Wagyu. All three were outstanding. Perfectly butchered and extremely high quality. The gentleman that helped me out was knowledgeable, friendly and totally on point.Can’t recommend Forbes enough!

First, I was totally surprised that there was no real meat counter. Most of the meat presented was frozen. Never saw that mentioned. We had a special occasion coming up which I mentioned. I was interested in a boneless leg of lamb but a four pound roast at around $120 was too much ( I am the only one who eats lamb). It was suggested I try a boneless lamb sirloin roast. I said I was afraid it would be less good and I was assured it was OK. I grilled it to medium rare with olive, garlic, salt pepper and fresh rosemary. Taste was awesome but the meat was almost inedible. Lots of sinew and gristle which should have been cut out with the bones ( I have de-boned many a lamb leg).The we needed a tenderloin filet for my wife. All they had was roasts (too large) or frozen ones. But they save the better center section for the roasts and had no real fillets. I was told the end tails would be fine. Again, medium rare but very tough even when cut across the grain.Well, the NY boneless strip I chose for my son was fine, but one out of three is not good.I had high hopes for this shop, but live and learn.

I first tried this butcher over Christmas after months of seeing their subscription boxes come and go on Instagram. I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m so glad I came in and we have this resource in Tucson!Their brat and sausage selection is insane and the flavors are wonderfully bespoke. I was able to get a fresh goose over New Years and gave a gift card for Christmas! I got the impression back then that I should come back and explore more once the holiday madness had settled. And boy am I pleased that I did!They are now making proper authentic sausage rolls, pork pies and scotch eggs. I’ve tried the sausage rolls (amazingly good), and bought more today for a take home and bake. I have also tried their scotch eggs. And as an ex-pat that was a treat I hadn’t had in decades. Asked quickly about getting bone in lamb and he said no problem.Seems like they have great sourcing, the team members I’ve chatted with are very knowledgeable on the meat and extremely friendly. Ben was great to deal with.

A little tricky to find (Its on the side of the building, behind Cartel) but totally worth it. If you know the difference between a proper butcher and a grocery store meat counter, this is your spot. Ben was super nice, showed me around and talked me through my purchase. So many amazing this in his coolers.If you are looking for high quality or specialty cuts, this is your place. I grabbed a Picanha, a brisket and 3 packs of sausage,(all made in house) cant wait to try them. The Picanha was amazing, and it was the first time id made it.They even have Japanese A5 available, so if you want to indulge, this is your spot to go.

Super niche spot! Had some amazing high end cuts of meat and a knowledgeable butcher to explain them so I got what I was looking for. Ended up getting 5 different cuts, Japanese A5 Wagu, Texas Wagu, Aged Texas Wagu, and two local grass fed ribeyes. All of them were amazing. Will definitely go back! Little tricky to get to, its off the side street just east of Cartel Coffee Lab on a one way street that only runs North.

Awesome place. Everyone there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Ended up getting much more than I initially planned because it all looked so good. They have an entire refrigerator dedicated to sausage including a duck confit sausage that sounded incredible. Duck, swordfish, short ribs, wagyu, and any cut of beef imaginable, they had an amazing selection

I have bought a few times from them and wow! They have all kinds of different meat you cannot find at your regular butcher. This is like a secret you want to share. They have a little hole in the wall off Broadway downtown. Call ahead make sure they are open. They post on insta and on Facebook. The wagyu is mind blowing. They have dozens of different sausage too. The owner was super cool and threw in a couple packs of sausage to try. Delicious!

This place has it all. One of the best meat shops I have been in. Plus they have lots of Wagyu.

Ive been buying beef for over 25 years. Ive worked with 4 other butchers In that time buying full & 1/2 sides. My recent dealing with this place has been the worst experience Ive ever had.

Very responsive to messages/questions. Was able to provide a type of animal fat we havent been able to find in the U.S. previously from any other butchers. Definitely provides a high quality product at reasonable cost. Looking forward to many more years of buying from our local butcher!

Great products and excellent customer service. My questions about sourcing and processing meat have always been answered prompty and with enthusiasm. Ive stopped buying most of my meat at the grocery store and buy meat from Ben primarily. The verde sausage is a house favorite. Thanks for all that you do!

Checked this place out on a recommendation from someone. They said Ben was “awesome” and I would be saving quite a bit by buying rabbit locally instead of having it shipped in on ice. I reached out and inquired about having a WHOLE rabbit ground, and gave a specific time and date that I would come pick up which was confirmed. I had to go to work an hour early so I could make it to their shop before close, as they had told me that one day was available (not letting me know I could come pick up on a weekend). I showed up to an empty shop and an ‘oopsie’ message stating that they “got their dates confused, their bad.”Decided to try again Saturday and reached out a few hours ahead of time. Was told to call so they wouldn’t forget (around the time I had specified to pick up). I called and was informed they don’t grind whole rabbits. Waste of time and I’d rather give a different company three times as much then support this business.

Top notch butcher top notch guy. Ben is a Tucson staple and is a master of his craft.
