Good experience ominside the store. When looking online, they show you plenty of variety, but when in the store, not enough. In general, good place to go when related to sports and affordable prices.

They have some great deals at time. Worth checking out, especially with the 5$ off purchase coupons they mail out every month.

Employees were helpful and courteous. The line to checkout was not long and the cashier made sure we found everything okay.The store was out of stock of propane for our camp stove.There was a large selection of summer/outdoor items. Many items were advertised as on sale. We used a coupon at checkout for further savings.

The only reason this location is getting 2 stars is because I have been shopping at Big 5 for years and Im giving then the benefit of the doubt . I liked this shoes that was on special, so asked the employee to verify the price for me and he did, when I took it to the cashier, the price changed. And although $12 was not going to break my budget, the fact that I waited for Adam the manager only to end up getting help by Kamaka, who probably could not make it right for me even if wanted to, was completely un-proffesional . Left me unhappy. I was standing by the cashier taking my shoes off. While all looked on.

A great place to get inexpensive sports equipment. Decent selection with really good pricing and a very helpful staff. Just about ALL sports covered to some degree. Big 5 has been the go to for years and this location never disappoints, thank you to Big 5 and your TEAM!

I went into the store this afternoon, and stood at the firearms counter for 8 minutes and was never offered help while the employee white older kept conversating with another customer so I just walked out taking business elsewhere!!

Good prices. Hit and miss as far as fitness equipment actually in the store. Best to go the day they get their shipment in, which for this store is Thursday. Get there right at 10a, when they open, orr earlier to get in line. Good customer service.

Its close by and they always have sales.

Walked in wanting to buy a shotgun or rifle and basically got 1 star customer service, dude had to ask his manager and basically that manager didnt even talk to me he just told him Id have to go to whatever one how fare away and even though I heard him that dude didnt tell me what he said, basically bad business so thats why I gave it one star, but hey if you dont need somebody to help you buy on, firearms purchases isnt gonget the gun take to the register and see ya have a good day. The end is near ppl so repent and follow Jesus Christ so you dont burn in hell fire torment. Bible is the truth like it or not.

I used to spend $$$$ on expensive running shoes because I had problematic feet, and most shoes gave me pain. After I went to a speciality running store and learned what type of shoes and support I needed (high stability, hard/firm insoles) and the proper way to tie running shoelaces, I could just come here to buy way cheaper shoes once I knew what to look for.I love how they have sales all the time, and the website is easy to navigate and tells you what’s in stock at your store.Some of the styles may be a bit outdated and might not be the trendiest option, but if you are looking for form over function, then this is the place to go to. And did I mention that you can’t beat the prices?Plenty of parking in a shared lot, friendly service. And thanks for letting me know today that I can sign up for coupons sent over email! :)

Some employees here are very rude and seriously have no customer service skills. This comes from when they answer the phone to how they treat you in person. I will no longer support this location. There are a few kind employees there but none of them seem to be dedicated workers.

This particular Big 5 always has friendly staff to help. You may not always have the widest selection, but they are always willing to look to find you the best product and price. This is my go-to store partly because its convenient to my house and partly because its reasonably well stocked and usually pretty good on prices, comprable to online for what I have looked for. They do have a rather extensive and fashionable selection of exercise clothing for women, and to my surprise good selection of youth football gear. I cant speak to their shoe selection, that I have never been impressed with, but Im not there to buy shoes anyway. So thats okay

My friend needed slides to replace a pair. Also, ready for new shorts with pocket and a liner, and tees for our morning walks. Got them all!

Charles showed my daughter and I the best customer service weve ever had. We bought hiking boots, gloves, bikes itemz, socks and gloves. We went there for shoes but felt so grateful that we spent 3xs the amount we planned. Got some useful items for great prices because the cashier honored the coupons on my phone. Always grateful and will always be your customer. Have been since 1996.

I called Big 5 to put softball knee pads on hold around 6. I get to Big 5 close to 8:20 and decide to look around to see if theres anything else I would like to purchase. Look at some Carhartt hats and some knives for my job. The hats are located clearly close to the registers and I had nothing in my hand. I go to look at knives, which are clearly in a glass casing. Decided check out the items put on hold and as I turn around the closing manager is giving me a dirty look as if I was taking something or just looking at me funny and the rudest way. When he saw that I saw him he immediately changed his aura but I decided to give him the same look. At this point hes giving me a bit of sass. He says hes going to check stock, just to tell me that they dont have my item. This was highly upsetting, not only did they not put my items on hold but I wouldnt be as upset if the manager wasnt so rude and honestly it seemed as if he wasnt trying to locate my items.

Nice people work here. Manager is always available to answering any questions and even help find product. Its a bit crowded with merchandise but wel organized, clean and fun to browse.

I usually give 5 star reviews as long as everything was reasonable and the employees where polite and working to the best of there abilities. But Im going to give 4 stars this time because I was a little befuddled to find out that a sporting goods store with a water sport section in Southern California about 3 miles more or less from a very famous beach known for year round surfing, swimming, diving and was even mentioned in very famous songs sung by no other than The Beach Boys didnt keep swim wear in stock all year round.The gentleman that helped me was very kind and even suggest some other places I should try and he apologized for not having more swim wear in stock and I knew it was not his fault in the least bit. I blame poor business practices by the corporation for missing out on a huge market by labeling swim suits as Seasonal wear IN CALIFORNIA! But they had half the store completely jammed pack with snow gear 3 MILES FROM REDONDO BEACH! I really hope an executive or someone in charge of merchandise sees this review and recognizes just how ridiculous this is that a SPORTING GOODS STORE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, 3 MILES FROM A MAJOR YEAR AROUND BEACH doesnt keep swim suits in stock in there WATER SPORTS SECTION like seriously? They had goggles and snorkle and dive equipment and swim caps and stuff to plug or nose and your ears I even saw boogie boards but only one small rack of swim wear of whatever was left over from the summer! Why even have a water sports section? There missing a huge market! Ok Im done with my rant now. I wound up going to the good will like 50 yards away and I found a huge selection of swim wear and shorts even a cute cover up, sandals and a sun hat to match! Im still going to shop at big 5, they havent lost my business but Im very disappointed that I cant buy a simple bathing suit or even a rash guard at a sporting goods store 3 miles from the beach!

Convenient location with great service. Its a small store, but they pack in the merchandise. Everything from guns to shoes. This location has been here for our youth teams while the big stores have come and gone. SHOP LOCAL!

The shoe guy was helpful to bring out some running shoes for my boys. Unfortunately they didnt have any selection of adult sized soccer shoes for my sons, nor did they have a selection of shin guards. Soccer season is upon us, and they had only one type of shin guard that would have fit my older son. There might have been more, but it was near impossible to find in the mess of the store.Then when checking out, my total rang up around $40 more than I expected. I mentioned that this must be a mistake. So the girl looked in the system and found that the shoes were indeed on sale. But one of the pairs wasnt the price listed. Fortunately a manager walked by and said, Oh yah, those are on sale for $39. If I hadnt been paying attention, I would have been charged much more for the shoes.Sadly, the wrong sporting goods store went out of business. We typically avoid Big 5, but when you have to try on shoes, it is tough to do it online.

Was doing inventory. A lot of stuff packed in that store. Backroom was full of trash that made it hard to move. I do buy all my work shoes at another of their stores.

I needed camping stuff in October, which is a challenge. They had most of what I needed.

Went in to purchase a specific item and saw an Under Armour sale. Got to the counter and was informed that the sale applied to the striped shirts. Went back to the display and thats exactly what it said. Grabbed a striped shirt and went back to the cashier only to be informed that the sale didnt apply to the color I selected. Had the cashier walk back to the sign with me to inform me I had selected the wrong sku number...really... when it becomes that much of a mystery or smoke and mirrors I am out. Hello Amazon prime. Gotta love the customer service that comes with some brick and mortar. Its no wonder sporting goods stores are a dying breed. Should have just stuck with what I went there for rather than venturing beyond that. Frustrated in Torrance.

U can find really good deals here sometimes! I looked all over for a good tent without having to spend a lot of money and they had a lot of sales on camping equipment. Found a Coleman tent that I love without having to spend a lot!

I had gone after my Spa treatment that day to get some lunch, and for the first time Ive been to Panera, let me tell you it was disappointing. I order a cup of soup with baguette, chips, and a drink, and the cashier while I was ordering kept leaving her station while I was ordering. She went up and down about 3 times. And then while I was waiting to get my order, about 20 mins passed and no one would bring my food. So I got up and asked another employee there if they knew why my order was taking too long. She asked what did you order? I told her and she says oh here it is, Im sorry no one told me anything and it was sitting here all this time, Im like really!?🤦‍♀️So I ended up with cold soup, not nice.
