Good locally owned place. Not too busy around lunch. Gyro was alright, no kids menu. Grape leaves are good and you get a bunch. Wife loved her fish sandwich. For lunch Three entrees with one extra side was $49.
Well Im a first time visitor to this restaurant and last time visitor. I ordered the big bacon breakfast on the menu it said it comes with a pound of bacon not even close. Ive been cooking my entire life and cooked plenty of pounds of bacon. My potatoes were way under cooked greasy and soggy. My toast! I never seen anything like it they messed that up too. PLEASE as a food connoisseur this place is a waste of money and the food is so subpar Im sure 90% of the food they serve is frozen. The other reviews that say this place is great was written by employees and managers. Worst restaurant Ive visited since Monroe street dinner stay away from river dinner
Always come here and get good food but not tonight! No tzatziki sauce on our gyros, ordered hummus and recieved no pitas bread, went back in to ask for some and was told I had to pay for it! Why? What am I supposed to eat the hummus with? My hands? Wont be back!
Giving this restaurant a 2. The service was great but the food was horrible. The potatoes were not cooked, gravy tasted like it came from a can. On top of all that I had diarrhea the next morning. Will not be coming back!
Great service/waitress. Soups, tried 2 since I had to send one back because it was not very good, nor was the second one, the charge was removed from the bill. Grapes leaves were overcooked, too much lemon and tasted artificial. Greek Salad was fantastic, cheeseburger great, chicken and gyro meat was very good and their rice. Recommended to go, large menu. Breakfast... can not go wrong! Owner/operator gave free dessert, never complained about anything, just a generous well run restaurant.

I always loved getting the Monster BLT with a pound of bacon on each sandwich. Tonight I took my sister there and was super disappointed as it was between less then half the amount of bacon. Not sure if it was a different cook or new way for them to make the sandwich. Super disappointed and wont bother again.

Waitresses was friendly, but Very Very slow service. For the 5 meals should not even taken half the time it did. I ordered the beef tips with rice. It was basically a box of long grain yellow rice with 4 pieces of way over cooked meat and a piece of texas toast. That meal alone takes 5-10 minutes max if you use raw beef tip. My wife order the Hot Roast Beef. It had instant mashed potatoes and was mostly bread.
Havent been there in awhile as we were disappointed last few times. Same deal this time...gyro meat over cooked, tomatoes not ripe, no flavor, lettuce lacking on gyro. The ff were good...easy enough they are frozen and come ready to drop into the fryer. Disappointed.

The staff is always courteous and we love supporting a local restaurant, but we won’t be ordering from river dinner again. Asked for a burger cooked medium, had a raw burger when it arrived. This hasn’t been our first experience with under/ over cooked food at river diner.

First time ordering and it was horrible! Burger was raw and bun was soaked in blood from it, ordered a gyro and only got meat,cucumber and tomato in a box with no sauce and now wrapped in anything, was short and order of fries and chicken sandwich was not cooked all the way either cold as ice in the middle, I cant believe they served food raw and half prepared!!!
The waitress was good but was the only one tryed doing it all pretty good just busy had to wait for food but it was good

I order a Greek omelet eggs over cooked half the omelet only had 1 small piece of meat the other half was ok but the feta cheese tasted old the home fries were terrible told the waitress and it was like she didnt care always liked this place I will try it once more but definitely not with that waitress

Sort of dingy interior. What youd expect of a small, local diner I guess. Food, however, is generally good, and prices are usually unbeatable. I usually get take-out from here rather than eating in, and that makes the experience a little more enjoyable to me. If you live near Point Place and want something cheap and quick thats not fast food, River Diner takeout is a good option.

Worst roast beef ever......the gravy tasted like it was made with soy sauce....took most of it home, and threw it away... to nasty to even eat. Maybe other stuff is good....this was my first time there.....in no hurry to go back... If I do, Ill try a burger.

The only good thing was the service. Stale bread. Disgusting burger. The waitress was kind enough to take the burger off the bill. I overheard the manager(maybe owner) telling her he refused to take it off the bill. She would have to pay for it.We will never be back to support an employer like that. Shame on him.

Delicious food for dine in or take out if youre not feeling like cooking... all kinds of food, from American to Mediterranean. I usually get the monster BLT or the 1 pound gyro. Very generous portions at inexpensive prices. Coupons on the back of your Kroger receipts and in the valpak in the mail. Definitely go here!!!

Been here a few times. This is the last time. Food is typically alright but I was over charged last time and had a really poor experience this time. Waited for a long time to get the food and when I got it the top was hot and the middle was not warm at all. So if you are wondering why there are no people at this place at 530 on a Saturday... This is why.Also it took like forever for then to bring a check.Uh yeah so all around bad job.Also the professionalism needs work. Letting everyone in the restaurant know that you dont know how to bill things properly ECT..like dont let the guests know that stuff... Yelling swears from the kitchen is kinda a bad practice. Also I could hear the cook bad mouthing me because I sent the food back cold. Yeah so that was cool.
This little restaurant is amazing. The food is excellent, the portions large and the prices extremely reasonable. Our waitress, Jessica, was great and the service showed that they treat their customers like royalty. They all, especially our waitress, came around often to make sure that we didnt need anything and had to wait. She made us feel comfortable and well served. I will definitely return to this gem in Point Place.

Great little restaurant, diner style (obviously). Clean and well-lit. Its fairly small, and you wouldnt want to discuss anything truly private during your meal, as the tables are a tiny bit close. Tonight, they werent very busy, and we had pretty decent service. My daughter and I ordered breakfast skillets (breakfast is served all day). Mine was the All Meat Skillet. The bacon was super tasty, the sausage and gravy were just peppery enough, and though my eggs were a tiny bit overdone, for my taste (but I make my scrambled eggs VERY creamy, Gordon Ramsay style), overall it was delicious. Excellent rye toast, as well. Hubby got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. His burger was cooked exactly the way he requested, and he enjoyed his meal as well. This place is pretty close to my daughter and son in laws home, and is one of their favorite inexpensive places to eat, so Im sure we will return!

Hit or miss with food lately
Every dish I have tried from here has been spot on and tasty. Friendly staff and very fair prices. The Chicken Shwarma is the best I have had in Toledo, and I have had them at many different places.
My fiance and I have been coming here for years, great food, friendly atmosphere, waitresses are all friendly, and Steve ---both of them, are great guys. You get large food portions for the reasonable prices you pay. Its a great little place to go to.Never had any problems.

Great new decor lightens up the inside. Food is still abundant for the price. Server was fabulous never let our cups go empty, always was removing dirty dishes, with a great personality to go on a holiday makes it outstanding! I see this place as having turned a corner from what it was.

Ive been here a few times and received ok service and decent food. I just ordered a pick up order for the first time and honestly dont think Ill be going back. Hollandaise sauce was lumpy like deviled eggs filling. I got LITERALLY a tablespoon portion of corned beef hash, and about the same amount for my home fries. All 3 poached eggs were broken and I paid $25 for this. Not happy AT ALL. Lazy & cheap!

The service was awful. We waited to long for our food to come out, had to wait for coffee, never refilled our water. I ordered a omelette. It had no taste and they used canned mushrooms. The new decor lightens up the walls, the staff is friendly, food is on point, price for what you get is overly fair. Even for Easter and time of day speed of food and service was fantastic. Never let my coffee cup go empty. Will come back

Right off of 75, one of your last opportunities for food heading north into Michigan. Good prices, nice portions and tasty. I had hummus and gyro meat. Reviews say its dirty which yes there is only one waitress and tables needed cleaning which she promptly took care of. No bad odor inside.

My girlfriend and i placed an order at non peak hours only one other person present waitress was not familiar with menu after ten min waitress informed us that the cook failed to acknowledge they were out of product for that meal selection so we ordered a salad added chicken and cheese the sevice was slow took 40 min for a gyro and salad took another7 min. Cook failed to add cheese to salad mostly lettuce portion size was small charged double for chicken the side of mixed vegetables was a disappointment.
Did not care for the food. It seemed better at the other location. I ordered 2 cheese burgers to go & they were burned. The manager did fix it but had to wait another 15 minutes.
Western omlet is probably my favorite!
