Will not return to this location! The girl behind the counter didnt have any customer service skills; she did her job but simply wasnt friendly or eager to serve. While waiting for the butcher to grind up some pork, and then to cut a $40 English roast for me, rather than ask me what else I needed during each waiting period, she disappeared until the items were ready and THEN continued with my order. I got the feeling that she didnt want to be there and did the absolute bare minimum to get by. The prices were crazy high; I expect I would have been less annoyed by the lack of customer service had I not been in the process of spending a small fortune for very little food. Once my order was filled, I never even got a thank-you. I went to the cash register and waited a couple minutes for a lady to arrive. There was no apology for the wait but she seemed pleasant, rang up my order, handed me the receipt for $152, smiled and told me to have a nice day. I responded with Youre welcome. and turned around and walked away. She called out to me Didnt I say thank you? I turned my head and replied No.. And that was it ... she still didnt say thank-you. LOL!

Everything about this place is awesome. Except their store hours. Most people dont get off work till 5 or close to that. And every location closes at 7pm...

Went into this store with my fiance and asked for stuffed chicken and the boy behind the counter started making extremely rude comments publicly humiliating us. Saying for the whole store to hear that we didnt want stuffing in July and even making fun of my fiances shirt. We will never be back to this location as it was completely uncalled for, unprofessional, and straight up rude.

I placed an online order for curbside pickup as I normally do. Picked up at designated time and was gone with my order (which they placed in car for me). When I started to make dinner I realized I was given the wrong product in error. I called the store and they were very courteous and accommodating. They told me that they couldn’t take the product back, for obvious reasons), but that I could come back and pick up the correct product. I left right away and upon arrival was greeted with a smile as well as given an extra pound of product for the inconvenience. Their selection is always fresh, available and full of flavor. I would recommend House of Meats on Holland Sylvania for all of your bbq, chilly rainy Sunday and special occasion needs!

The reason behind the 5 stars is due to an employee at the Alexis location by the name of Charles. I purchased a chuck roast from the Holland Sylvania location. When I was attempting to prep it, I noticed the color was dark and it had a smell. I returned it to the store to get another one. The manager at that location seemed irritated and gave me another roast. When I got to the car, I opened it up and that new roast had a smell. I went to the Alexis location and I told Charles about the situation. He took care of the situation and he was genuinely concerned. I am a Private Chef, and I purchase 95% of my meat from H.O.M. I truly appreciate him and I will not shop at the other location anymore

100 year old Polish Recipe - 2lbs boneless pork ribs or chop. 2-1/2-3 lbs kielbasa 1 pound thick cut smoked bacon uncooked..2 pack sauerkraut slightly rinsed. 2 bay leaves optional. Enough chc broth to cover.Do not ! cut pork or kielbasa arrange in crockpot cover with kraut salt pepper..Cook slow 6-7 hours ..mix well serveYour life will never be the same. All HOF meat P.s -- you can put 1 carrot cut and potatoes cut on top 1 hour before done if you have room. God bless

When things go well, best meat on this side of town. When you have an issue, however, dont expect any customer support. Our family of three has spent over $750.00 in the last twelve months at HoM. Had a seasoning mix up on barbecue ribs (apparently, the house seasoning is different than the house barbecue), and were refused replacement. The Manager decided the no refunds sign on the door (where? With all the ads and other signage posted, nobody sees it) was more important than making a client happy over $10-15.00 (our cost, not theirs - what, $4.00-7.00?). Would have cost them less than what they paid the Manager to argue over it.So now this growing family will be looking at other options, even though we literally live less than 3 minutes away. Not worth shopping at a place where they make it clear that only your dollars spent at the cash register matter, not your satisfaction.The apathy and blatant rudeness was what really prompted this book. I had never spoken to a Manager at any other establishment that insinuated I was an idiot for not knowing the difference in their selections. Youre the one that messed up should never be said to a paying customer when it comes down to something like this.So now you have four paragraphs of negativity over what cost me less than $20. THAT should tell you how disrespected and put down I felt talking to your Manager.

The best meats. Friendly employees. I have been shopping at house of meats for 40 years. I received an air fryer for Christmas. Wanted to learn how to make beef jerky. The staff was very knowledgeable on which meats to choose and gave me some tips. I recently bought a family pk. I Realized a week later they forgot to put my ground chuck patties in my pk. I went back to the meat market and the manager gave me my ground chuck patties. I was impressed no questions asked. Kroger meats cant compare to your meats. You have the best staff working for you also. They are willing to help. You dont get that from a grocery store. I have one negative tho. Years ago k&j use to make their own barbecue sauce I really miss that. The best barbecue sauce. Please bring it back.

I have never had a bad experience here. The employees are quick to help and offer great suggestions on how to prepare specific cuts of meat. The selection of meats is top notch. I would be surprised to learn if something was unavailable.

It’s a great place to buy good quality meat at a decent price. Also you can get marinated, seasoned chicken breasts and steaks that are awesome, especially on the grill.

The place is pretty nice but wont try them again. Got 2 cuts of prime rib and got more fat than actual meat on both cuts.

Love this place! And especially this location due to lovely employees that are so kind and really interact with you to fully understand your needs and preferences when picking meats. Always friendly at the cash register too making small talk and even cooking suggestions at times. Ive been going to K&J house of meats for over 25 years. They have NEVER disapointed. The selection & variety exceeds most if not all other meat markets Ive been to over the years. K&J house of meats even has great saving offers they can text and email to you, offering free select foods with $25 purchase, which can come weekly or even in a flash 1 or 2 sale. Today I happened to get 2lbs of ground chicken for free with my purchase (that is nearly $8 in free ground chicken!) Using my text message coupon they sent. I really like that they package the meats in brown paper (Im just weird like that lol). And the smell as you walk into the store is just amazing! Also the cashiers have been known to hand little ones a cookie or other treat (With the parents permission of course). 😉😍

The meats are always good but they are just as expensive as walmart and kroger.

They basically wanted us to leave because we asked them to put a family pack together. And I waited over 15 minutes for someone to get me just a pound of catfish. I do not know what happened because this used to be the best house of meats. But bad customer service can ruin the whole experience of a store. Please find out whats going on with your staff. Went in today and bought 2 new york strip steaks...everything was great. Also bought 2 bacon wrapped tenderloins...was very confused when I had cut one in half (and it was pieced together like stew meat???) Wish I was able to post the pic of it just for reference..) another sidenote..only reason I had cut in half was to cook it for my dogs. Just so people dont question me as to why I cut it in half...very disappointed since they are 4.99 each

While waiting on my meat one of the meat counter people a young skinny white boy with glasses was refilling grouper in the meat display with one glove on a one off touching the fish with bare hands during corina virus i spoke with the manager and told her what i saw she said she would talk to him i guess she did but she left the contaminated meat on display she must have thought i was gone i seen her look at it like she was gone temove it but didnt

2 stars for good meat. No more stars the service at this store is awful. Calling in an order or stopping in is terrible, its a waiting game. There is no shortage of folks working who are not waiting on customers. Not sure what the priories are for this particular store. If there are options to get butcher shop meats elsewhere I would suggest that option before going to this K&J. These guys are too slow and not very customer orientated. Not all the K&J stores are the same. Had great service at other K&J locations.

I just visited your store at 5:30 this evening (12/31/18). There were 4-5 employees just standing around talking. There were several customers waiting to be waited on. Finally an older woman ...one of your employees.... started calling everybodys names to get them to help the customers...she had to call them three times just to get them to listen to her to serve the customers. Then when I went to cash out the cashier was not there. Waited, waited...walaa... she was outside in the parking lot...uh why? What a terrible way to run a business. I noticed much of your staff are younger than typical. I remember coming in when there was older staff that would be ready and willing to help you as soon as you walked in the door. I really should have just left. Why bother to shop at your store when your employees would rather chit chat then help customers.

When I want to grill at home with a 5 star quality this is it. Honestly they shouldnt need a good review but if you buy meats at a chain store you dont know how good a cookout can get.

No complaints. There a 5 star all the way down. Trust me u wont b disappointed. I go there all the time. An the meat is better every time. Check it out someday. Yull love it!!
