Took our 2009 Mini S to Madness Motorworks. George did a great job with the repairs and kept us informed every step of the way. There were no surprises. We feel very fortunate to have found a shop we can trust that is honest and will stand behind their work. We will be back when the time comes. Thanks George!

My 2016 BMW 320I was out of warranty and I have never been a fan of using the dealer going forward, as I think they are very expensive. I have seen Madness Motorworks for many years and decided to take my car to them for the routine maintenance and new tires. I was very impressed with the turnaround and an excellent price. George was very honest with me about the type of tire I should buy and I certainly appreciated the cost saving. I am now a repeat customer.

No doubt the best mini shop ever! George and his team have helped me keep my mini going and taking care of all my issues/maintenance. With such great knowledge and skills these guys have I recommend you take your mini here. I also believe they do other makes of vehicles too but I assure you the professionalism and skills these guys have are top notch! Extremely happy they brought spunk to my mini and took care all my issues big and small that it has had. Do not hesitate to leave it in the hands of these professionals!

George and his team are hero’s! I have a 2013 BMW X3 that I usually take to the dealer to get serviced UNTIL NOW!!!1. I had a leak in my sunroof. Water leaked all over the front of my car it was a disaster but George and his team fixed it. I got a $2,000 quote from the dealer and Madness fixed it for a fraction of the price and did an amazing job!2. On my way home from the coast I got a reading “low oil pressure” so I immediately pulled over and stopped. Measured my oil and it was full ( I had an oil change 2 months ago and an inspection at the dealer saying my car was in great shape) so I was confused. I had my car towed to the dealer and they did an inspection and they said “everything looks wonderful except we are requesting a new engine and a new turbo for $20k“ because they said my timing chain blew!!!!! WHAT?!My dad remembered that we took my car to George and his team for my sunroof leak so he called him up and George said to bring it by. George said that he had to look at it, but he assured us it would be less than $20k. George pulled my oil pan and found my timing chain guides in the bottom .. not good. He said that he thinks all I need is a new timing chain. I didn’t need a new engine. I didn’t need a new turbo.Once we gave him the go ahead to make the repair he had it done in record time and... here’s the best part... I turned my car on for the first time. IT RUNS BETTER THAN IT DID WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT! It is really hard for me to trust mechanics but I can say with 100% confidence that George and his team are trust worthy and professional! I can’t recommend them enough! Seriously!! George and team, if you’re reading this you all are incredible. I can’t thank you enough!

Late last week I noticed my Mini Cooper was producing steam under the hood when I drove it. I called Madness Motorworks over the weekend and left a pretty frantic voicemail about the issue. Being someone who is totally clueless when it comes to car problems and mechanical issues, it can feel really helpless and be incredibly intimidating when you have to take your car into a shop. I chose Madness Motorworks based on the glowing reviews and I couldnt be more happy with that decision.George called me back first thing Monday morning and had me walk him through some of the issues I was having. He was able to see my car two days later.Dropping off my car was a really easy process. I wasnt able to bring my car to the business until after they were closed, but it was super simple to park my car in their lot and leave my keys in a secure dropbox attached to their building. I felt totally safe and comfortable leaving my car there and really appreciated the option of doing a contactless drop off in the midst of the pandemic.I got a call from George midday after he began working on my Mini. Before getting into anything, he asked me how familiar I was with cars and mechanics. When I told him I didnt know anything, he said great, no worries! Just wanted to get a baseline of your knowledge so that I can explain things to you! And thats exactly what he did. He took his time walking me through every single issue (and there were A LOT!) and even explained each one with examples. He took his time and answered all of my questions and never once made me feel rushed. Again, being totally ignorant to these types of issues, I have been treated pretty poorly by auto-shop employees in the past. This was unlike any of those experiences. George treated me with respect and made sure that I was totally understanding of all of the issues. He even laid out the order of importance of the work and never made me feel pressured to do anything, instead providing suggestions and recommendations. He gave me an itemized quote and gave me time to consider what I wanted to do.I ended up agreeing to have George work on all of the issues hed found. After the honesty and respect hed shown me from the initial diagnostic, I trusted him to do good work on my car. And I was right. My car was done the very next day. I was able to pay over the phone and picked up my car that evening and its been running great since!I cannot say enough about Madness Motorworks. If you have a Mini that needs work, especially if youre someone like me who is really intimidated of auto-repairs and worry about being taken advantage, look no further. The only disappointment I have is that they cant work on my fiances subaru because we loved them so much!! :)

I brought my 2009 Mini Cooper in to these guys because another shop couldnt figure out what was causing my rough idle, and recommended them because they are Mini cooper specialists.Within minutes they diagnosed it as my throttle body. They got me on the schedule and were awesome about keeping me informed and fixing it in a timely manner. This was one of the first time a have gone to a shop and didnt feel pressured into getting other services done. I had a lovely experience and highly recommend these guys to anyone with a MINI/BMW!!

This shop is a must go to if your a Mini Cooper owner. Ive brought my car to them over and over, they have always been able to diagnose any problem ive ever had very quickly. The staff has always been upfront on what exactly needed to be done and the price that it was going to cost for the repairs. They have never started any repairs without consulting me and asking permission before any repair begins. I enjoy bringing my car to this shop because the staff is very polite, super knowledgeable, and professional about what they do. I highly recommend choosing this shop over any others for all your Mini Cooper needs.

I ordered a JCW Intake High Flow Air Filter Replacement from them on July 18th and I waited a few weeks and when it did not arrive I called them. The guy that answered said all orders had been filled, but then he checked and said OOPS, I found your order and will send soon. They finally sent is August 1st and I received it August 7th (3 weeks later). I watched the install video and followed it exactly, however when I used the brute force it recommended the filter slightly folded which twisted the fins.I attached a picture here where you can clearly see that the top ring tipped to one side when I was pressing it on a caused the ripples. I submitted a refund/exchange request on August 10th and then sent a follow-up on August 13th and neither both contacts were ignored. I e-mailed them again on 8/19 and heard back from them on 8/20 and they stated that since I damaged it that they would not exchange or refund my purchase. I buy a replacement/upgrade part almost every week for my 2005 JCW R53 and this place is by far the worst company that I have dealt with when it comes to Mini stuff. From the initial order through today they have failed me as a customer in every way. If you can find your product somewhere else, you should. Zero stars, but one is the lowest it it will allow.UPDATE-Contrary to their opinion this was not improperly installed, I watched the video multiple times and it said in the video it was very difficult to seat it and to use brute force. Watch it. Again I caution you on buying from these guys.

I am a Dealership owner, I needed some work done on my wifes Mini Cooper. I had heard wonderful things about Madness Motorworks. The vehicle was inspected and I was called with the diagnosis. I approved all of the repairs and servicing the vehicle needed. I had expected it to take a few days. Remarkably, they called at the end of the day and the car was ready. An Excellent job by professionals, who are honest and have the customers best interests in mind, I am thankful.

I was referred to Madness Motoworks by a fellow MINI owner. I had neglected the service of my car for awhile and knew going back to the dealership was not an option because of how far away the dealership is and the cost. The process of booking an appointment and the locality of the shop are ideal for me and appreciated the detailed explanation of the repairs.Madness Motorworks has my loyalty for the excellent service they provided.George even went out of his way to provide recommendations for a fun first car for my 16 year old to learn to work on.I highly recommend Madness Motorworks.

$115 an hour for Robertos time and labor. A $99 diagnostic charge that was not disclosed prior to dropping off the car. Parts prices were in line, service fees, not so much.In the end I did not get what I wanted and instead was lectured about my options by a potentially knowledgeable, but ultimately condescending owner. $900+ later, I still have an idle issue that I originally intended to have rectified. Happy to have had maintenance done, but disappointed the owner cant manage to listen.Really wish I could have worked with Roberto directly.Ill be taking my enthusiast business elsewhere.

I feel like posting this twice to offset the 2 duplicate 1 star reviews posted above.Ive used Madness (formerly Mini Madness) twice now. First time they installed a supercharger pulley and air intake upgrade, this time an oil change and strut brace install. Both times Ive found the staff very helpful. We discuss what I want to achieve and they recommend the parts they think will work. They dont always steer you to the expensive upgrades (I was talked out of a $700 shock absorber upgrade) and theyre honest about what you can expect to get from the results. They arent perfect - both times I was told my front brake pads were due for replacement yet here we are 6 months later and theyre still doing fine. No real pressure though. So whether its performance mods or simple maintenance, Id recommend these guys.

Ive taken my Mini S, Volvo C30, and BMW 1M to George at Madness for the last 8 years, for upgrades and maintenance.George is, in my opinion, one of the few honest and capable guys in the car business. His advice on upgrades and products, and his in-house-developed parts, are top quality, and his prices are more than fair.He is personally involved with every bit or work done in the shop, and his emphasis is on highest reliability.Oh, and by the way, his cars consistently win in magazine-sponsored tuner challenges, often because the other cars fall apart during the challenge, while his always keep running at peak performance.I highly recommended Madness for Mini and BMW work.BTW, I happen to know that MrAmericanValues comments below were from a two-week period when Madness was moving to a new location, a new phone number, and George was on vacation for the first time in years...

Dont go here, its a joke and youre asking to be ripped off in my opinion. No part numbers were listed on the receipt, so who knows what work was really done? Just one of many problems.Extremely poor service was determined by the length of the repair, the costs and their inability to pick up the phone and talk to a customer during given business operating times. Called for two weeks and eventually hit a this number is no longer available, I assumed they went out of business until I saw a new comment on Yelp (its funny how all the viewable comments are positive huh?). From what I experienced, the owner is rarely there and there is only one mechanic on duty at any given time (its Roberto (see the comments)).Please save yourself the time, money and the trouble and find a better business

Ive been bringing my R56 JCW here since Ive lived in Portland, and Ive had nothing but a great experience each time my car was worked on. George has been very honest with me in assessing the issues with the car and providing candid advice about the available remedy options in order to help me make informed decisions about what I wanted fixed. No pressure or tricks to upsell any service, just the facts were presented, and all my questions were answered.George has always been accommodating and professional. Today I showed up at the shop with an emergency service request. I didnt have an appointment, yet George worked my car into the days schedule, I got a ride home and back to the shop to pick up my car a few hours later. We recently moved back to the area with a 2010 BMW 335I. I needed an annual service (I had not driven the miles) and kept getting a battery warning, as well as an unknown oil leak. Oh yeah, both of my key fobs had quit working. For little things like that I especially did not feel the need to go to a BMW dealership. I thought this would be a good opportunity to test a new repair shop, so that if something big happened I would have place to go without having to look for one in a crisis. We are not naive when it comes to vehicles. Too long of an history to explain, but both my husband and I are experienced. I (me, myself, and I, the only help I had was lifting the heads off and on the engine block) rebuilt the engine in my 68 Camaro in 1969 and we both worked on other 65 to 67 Fords, and I was a Ford fleet and heavy truck salesperson for a time, as well as just a retail salesperson. We dropped my baby off at 8:00 in the morning and around noon George, the owner of Motor Madness, called me to give us the news. The battery drain warning was because the battery was warn out. It was the original. No wonder I was getting warnings. The key fob issue, was they just needed new batteries too. He showed us how to do it next time. The oil leak was a valve cover gasket....and yes, I got a full BMW dealer style service and check-up.All done at the reasonable price quoted, in a reasonable time!We will go back for service, and hope we do not need him for anything else, but if there is a break down I feel he will do right by us.Mahalo nui loa George,gsPS: If someone needs a good Ford garage, go to Landmark Ford. George only works on his Ford.
