While on a family vacation, our car broke down 8 hours away from our home. Ponders was the only shop in town (we called everyone) that could look at our car the same day. We were originally told after they ran some diagnostics that it could be a leak in the head gasket but they wanted to be sure before they gave an estimate to fix it. The next day they called first thing in the morning to give us news that it wasnt the head gasket but instead the coolant fan and thermostat. They had our car fixed the same day and had us on the way. I was explained in detail of all the tests that were completed and what each one showed and meant. I couldnt be more please with the service and personal touch that they had to ensure that we we able to get back home. Highly recommend this shop. If you are looking for integrity, knowledge, and a shop that truly cares about their customers, Ponders is the place.

These people came highly recommend, but my experience was far from desirable. I took my truck in with two problems. Then I got it back with the same problems and more. My truck runs worse now then before I took it there. They got me for $1800 and I still need my truck fixed.

This is SUCH a long overdue review, as Ive consistently had Mr. Ponder and his crew service and maintain my cars for about a decade and a half now, with my lastest being some battery terminal work and replacement they performed on my 2013 Mazda CX-5. Im trying to get better at doing reviews and putting the good word out, especially for those that truly deserve it 10 folds. But these peeps havent been around 16 years for nothing...yall are hearing it from the horses mouth this time. Mr. Ponder has consistently steered a tight ship in ensuring those that come around his way are served properly the first time, EVERY time. My wife can come here to get her car serviced and I can just kick back and/or go about my day wherever Im at, knowing shes in good hands with Mr. Ponders firm and straightforward, but sincere and down to earth mom and pop ways and they got her right from the get go. She recently had all her brake work done on her 2015 Honda CR-V for just $380 and some change, a repair and maintenance bill that wouldve EASILY ran anywhere between $450-500 pretty much anywhere else. Not to mention, the crew always tells it how it is right from the gate on what it is on any customers car that needs fixing and what doesnt. But to cut straight to the chase on things, any automotive shop thats got emergency and fleet vehicles being serviced in is PROBABLY where the everyday driver should be taking their OWN vehicle to. Just a thought. But to anyone out there reading this thats in dire need of some PROPER service done at the RIGHT place, look no further than Ponders Auto & Fleet. Youll thank me later...

Ponders was recommended to me by a friend. When I dropped my vehicle off, I made sure to let them know the assumed issue, and what I had already checked on the vehicle. They called me the same day, telling me my vehicle needed thousands of dollars of work. That work included things I had already checked on the vehicle. Because I had done so, I knew there was no issue with that specific part of my vehicle. Im surprised, since I made sure to let them know when I dropped off the vehicle, but I dont think the receptionist relayed the message.

This place and the people were great. Friendly and the most important they will bend over backwards to help you out. I was halfway into a 5 hr trip with my side by side in tow when my radiator cracked and I got a tow to Ponders. It was 4:30pm and they could have put me off til the next day but they got a new radiator in as fast as they could and the mechanics stayed after to fix me up. They cleaned up the engine and even hooked my trailer back up for me to get me back on the road. They saved me from a lot of lost time. I would recommend them to anyone.

Took my old beater in for a water pump and thermostat today. Car was taken in almost immediately, and was finished by the time I needed to get to work only a few hours later. Mechanics are top notch,explain everything and didnt try to finesse me into things I didnt need. Times are super tight and not only did I get a heavily researched good deal, but for no other reason than to be accommodating and hospitably compassionate, the owner cut me an amazing deal on the timing belt I also needed to complete the job. I was not expecting that courtesy. My car is driving smooth and better than it has since I bought it two years ago. Will be returning soon to tie up some other loose ends for peak performance. No need to go anywhere else after this experience. Looking forward to a long road trip.

I had to visit Ponders Auto & Fleet Service unexpectedly after receiving a flat tire on a road trip. My tire was patched very quickly and I was back on the road in no time. The men and women working here helped me out a tremendous amount today, I cannot thank them enough for their hard work!

Stopped by after our car was overheating on the way from Dallas to San Antonio. Even though they had a full schedule they took the time to look at our car, capped us w/ coolant and sent us back on the road!! Staff was super helpful, so nice and very accommodating! Thank you!!

Took my business van there in preparation for the winter and had it back same day. The work performed was done right the 1st time and for a very reasonable price!

While returning home from vacation in our RV, the water pump failed and we were towed to Ponders for repair. Not knowing what to expect, we were treated as if we were family. The repairs were swiftly executed and we were back on the road in no time at all. I highly recommend these folks!

My first experience for a repair went very well and was very cost effective. The second experience not so well, they suggested repairs that upon further research didnt really need to be repaired and charged top dollar for them. Im not even sure the repair was done.The mechanic described possible catastrophic consequences if I didnt do the repair, total BS. So, I will vote with my feet and find a new place. Playing fair would have gained them more business and profit in the long run. All in all very disappointed and very unhappy.

There are just so many things that I like about Ponders Auto & Fleet Service. For one. the quality of work they do is incredible. I always see good results when leaving. And I have had everything done from a gas tank leak, to a motor fix,to just about everything. The staff is nothing short of nice, and Danny, BW, and his wife are awesome. You are working with one big family.

I was stranded at Buccees all night. I called Ponders Auto at 7:30 the next morning. BW answered. Told me they had a diesel Ford mechanic on staff. He recommended Temple Towing. Tow truck arrived within 20 minutes. Got the truck in the shop. Was treated like I was very important by everyone there. Couldnt believe how clean the shop was. They diagnosed that the starter was bad, very quickly. They ordered new starter and replaced it within a few hours. I was very impressed. The price was really good, but the service was exceptional. Highly recommended these guys.

Ive been taking my car here for the last 3 years. Theyve had several opportunities to take advantage of me and never have (instead, I get phone calls like, We need to order this part for your car, it will cost you $75 less than we first estimated, etc.). I have used Ponders for many years. Previously I took my car to Goodyear when Ponders owner was service manager there. Subsequently he then managed the fleet maintenance for a very large health care organization before launching his own shop. I have had them work on 4 Toyotos, a VW Jetta, and a newer Ford Escape doing routine maintenance, replacing a timing chain and associated parts, a failed brake caliper, and they successfully debugged an intermittent ignition problem. They are honest and do the job right.
