Still my favorite music store for beginners and pros alike. The manager, Tripp, is a nice guy and hes really good at playing. They got a large selection of guitars to try out and theyve got everything from cheap stuff to not-cheap-stuff. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Sam Ash in Tampa. Nick was very helpful. Was more than nice and let me play several Different Saxophones. What brought me here was their Finance options with zero interest. I couldn’t afford to duel out $3,200 and renting to own you end up paying more than what instrument is worth so this Zero interest for 36 months was a great option for me. It was the biggest reason I came here to buy over another Store that didn’t have this option.

Mason handled my return and additional purchase while the phone rang off the hook and other customers where trying to get his attention. All the while he remained calm, helpful and upbeat. Customer service that good is unfortunately hard to come by these days.

This store change too much after covid.. it just to be cleaner and organized.. with more products and better customer services. Now just looks like a Junk yard ..

One of the best music stores in the Tampa Bay Area. You can get musical books, practice notes and instruments from the store. I think you can have classes there as well. Staff there are well chill and friendly, they will help you find whatever you need. They are professional on the product and music, so you can ask anything, literally anything to them. One stop shop for musical stuff. Personally I got my trumpet and lots of practice books over there. Highly recommended for music related items.

I bought a Gibson J15 in July 1915, I noticed years later it had blemishes. Big yellow X on the headstock, 2 buffed or sanded through areas on the back. Both had been clear coated over. I worked with Gibson to correct the issue but needed original purchase recipe. It too a while but they found it and helped me. They didnt have too but they did. Mason and Mike in the Tampa location were awesome and Mike in New York was too. Thank you all.

Great experience at Sam Ash this week-end. My daughter wanted a started keyboard set up and the employees were very informative. The prices seemed to be well within range and we were not pressured in any way.

Ordered items for a birthday. No one told me the items were on backorder. When I inquired about what happened, the blame was passed to me because, someone should have told you and you should have known. No customer service, no processes to notify of backorder status. In addition, there is no indication on the website items are on backorder until youve made the order, theyve realized items not in stock, and they update the website.I tried to support a mom & pop business and was slapped on the hand. Dont make the same mistake as me. Go through Guitar Center, Sweetwater Music, or even Amazon. Literally, anyone else.

I walked in and got what I needed quickly and had to wait a while just to check out. I also saw another person put back their items and leave because of the wait. The selection is great, nice place, just hope they can get more employees since I still heavily prefer going into stores.

I bought a bass speaker and I did not have the original Power cable, I called for them to tell me and they say they do not have it.They said they have to order and they dont know when they will have it

I had already decided which guitar I wanted to purchase and had a good price that included bundled accessories. A neighbor friend suggested that I check out Sam Ash Music Store. I explained to Chris what I was looking for a the price I had I had from another store’s website. Chris said he would see what he could come with and within a half hour I was out the door with guitar and accessories that were very compatible to the original quote I arrived with. Chris was very attentive, friendly and helpful. I am glad I came to Sam Ash Music and that I consider this local business that will be a good resource in the future.

Went into look for a mic so that i could use for my DJ recordings and Zack in recording found a product that not only met my needs but exceeding my expectations. He did not attempt to upsell me on anything which is why I felt even more compelled to write this review as I feel he deserves the recognition. I know it is a commission based position which buying online had taken the in person experience away from purchasing. If corporate gets this what are you doing about providing special pricing available only in store to give customers better incentives to shop in person instead of just sitting back and allowing the future producers and djs to just buy cheap gear online and not get the experience of having that 1 life changing conversation??

Recently bought an acoustic/electric and bass guitar, was assisted by Chris. Wanna jump on the praise-train and say it was one of the better sales experiences I’ve ever had. No pressure and super informative. A decent selection and what wasn’t in stock (bass case) was delivered at no extra cost a couple days later. Will be back 🤙

The store had a wide selection of guitars, better than the other music store I tried. Prices were competitive with the other store. Chris was the sales person in this section of the Tampa location that I worked with.. He was great. He let me try several guitars, didnt push me towards any one product, and gave advice when asked. He tried to match what I was looking for and would honestly explain to me if something was too much product for what I was looking for. He even called me a couple weeks after I purchased a guitar to see if I liked it and if I had any questions or needed anything. I couldnt have asked for a better sales person. However, I did come into the store when he was not working and my experience with the one or two other sales persons in the guitar area was very unsatisfactory. Thus, the reason for the 4 stars. I do recommend this Tampa store, but make sure you ask for Chris.

I’ve been a customer of Sam Ash for many years and even had one of their store credit cards for awhile. Sales and service has always been professional, knowledgeable and intuitive. Most recently, I purchased a guitar for a family member for Christmas. When I arrived, they didn’t have this guitar in stock. Chris, at the Tampa store took the time to find the guitar I was looking for, order it from a nearby warehouse and even carried it to the car for me when I left. We also opened the guitar to examine it when it arrived. Chris filed the sharp edges on the frets and tuned it for me. My experience couldn’t have gone any better. Kudos to Sam Ash for putting another smile on my loved one’s face! I highly recommend Sam Ash.

If I could leave Sam Ash ten stars, I would. Their service is always extraordinary and each team member has historically gone above and beyond every time I have visited the store. Ready to purchase my newest instrument, a Yamaha digital grand piano, I knew there was only one place to go, Sam Ash in Tampa. On this day, Robert Nolden, greeted my friend an me like we were old friends. When they didnt have a floor model to try, Robert opened the box, set it up on a stand, and set me up with a bench so I could try it as much as I wanted. Not only was Robert incredibly helpful, but his knowledge of this keyboard was amazing. I have been so happy with my new digital grand piano and look forward to years and years of enjoyment. By the way, this is the 5th happy purchase and would not consider going elsewhere. Thank you Robert and Sam Ash!

Awesome store with a great selection and friendly staff. My one piece of advice would be for the floor workers to be a little less agressive with trying to make sales. I get that they probably have a quota but I felt rushed at times into buying something I only showed minor interest in. Overall a great experience though, just a note on something I noticed. 😊

Such a cool store! My fiance and I visited this store while in Tampa for vacation. We thought they might have a different selection from our stores in Oklahoma and we were so so right. They had some of the coolest guitars, ukes, and pedals! We had a good time just checking things out and playing around a little bit. The fiance came away with a pedal hes been looking for for awhile. Ill have to leave room in my luggage when I come into town next time so I can take home a banjolele!

Thank you Sam Ash, and Robert, for the excellent service in getting my instrument. Robert did a fine job trying to get the lowest price he could for my new Moog Theremini. The unit was promptly shipped, and I received it 2 days later via FedEx. FedEx sent me emails for the tracking, once I opted to have that feature. It showed me the time for delivery, with a 15+/- minute window. The huge shipping box was stuffed with mini-airbags, and the product box was in perfect condition, as was the Theremini.Ill be using the Theremini in my music demonstration at local elementary schools. The kids will get to play a wide range of accoustic and electronic instruments. The Theremini will be a big hit with them, since they can just wave their hands in front of it.Buying from the Sam Ash in Tampa meant no shipping costs. That saved me more money, which kept the price within my budget. Otherwise, I couldnt have afforded it.So, thanks again yall. And our cats love the box.

After finally getting the attention of one staff member, I was asked what I needed, then was again left alone for more than 20 minutes and forgotten about all together. Not one staff member ever greeted me or asked me how they could help me. Store did not have the merchandise on hand like their website specified. I will never return to this location.

I knew what I wanted to buy, but after more than 15min of an unattended guitar department, I had to walk to the front desk for somebody to help me to do my buying, the same front desk person did the sale, but I saw couple person with less patience leaving the store, the only reason to go a store is to be attended and make me feel so good to have the need to go back, well this is one of the reasons why people prefer buying online.

Im from out of state and this music shop is awesome! They had everything you could think of: headphones, synthesized, speakers, drums, band instruments, etc. If you are a local go check them out!

People are great at this location....daughter is getting lessons and I am always greeted nicely.

So I went to guitar center first.... I bought a brand new guitar and went to my first guitar lesson to find out it needed to be adjusted and so I took it back to guitar center which wanted to charge me another 90 bucks to get the guitar to factory standard, being a little bit irritated I took advantage of the 45 day return policy and purchased a Beuatiful Taylor Acoustic from Sam Ash and could not be happier. Not only did they make sure it was set up properly but also told me if I wanted any changes within 30 days they would take care of it. The level of customer service here is amazing. I will never go anywhere else !

I give it 5 stars but for the fact that they dont have the community bulletin board or some way of offering exchange services for musicians and learners - I can expect much from a for profit conglomeration like Sam Ash - with fingers grabbing nationally, this place is huge. It would be great if they offered QR codes for some of the sheet music so that this could be purchased, or listens to while in the store, and also to include instructor recommendations for good books and such. I found the staff to be really helpful and informative, if not doting and obsequious. They got a limit on the number of people allowed in the store at any one time but I did not see a rush queuing up so that might just be a formality. All the staff and the customers were weighing masks and there were appropriate barriers of cash registers. I knew this store before the coven 19 pandemic and they could do better at being a community resource persons a for profit group, though we do have Paragon on Hillsborough Avenue, Which is much much smaller and only deals with high school slash/school bands

I had a great time selecting my jackson king V guitar! The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. The only drawback I experienced was that the store was out of stock on many items that I wanted in addition to my new guitar. Overall it was a great experience and very fun!

Great place to browse around for musical instruments. I came looking for a keyboard for my daughter and the gentleman at the register help educate us on different types of keyboards and got us 1 that fit our need and budget. Their prices are similar to online stores as well. Great experience.

Really disappointed in the guitar selection at the Carrolwood store.

I would like to thank the guys at Sam Ash especially the store manager Mike and Rob for helping me out. They went above and beyond and did something they didnt have to do to make a customer happy. It was a relief to know that they care about their clients and did what was right in my particular situation. So if you wanna music place that knows their stuff and are there to help when theres a problem sam Ash is the place to go. Buying gear online is hard because it might not be exactly what youre looking for. At Sam Ash they encourage you to pick up a guitar and play or smash some drums. Its a great environment but most of all the employees care.

Salesman rude. When I put my item too buy on 30 lay away. I was treated low, when I cancelled a layway due to being sick n in the hospital. I reordered same item. Item was dented n scratch, for same as a new one???.

I have been in this Sam Ash multiple times and I must say they are all friendly and help out every step of the way. Chris was the one that helped me out and is always there to give great advice and point me in the right direction.Recently, I was there looking for the EVH Frakenstrat Replica (Hard to find at the moment), or a striped series. I was really hoping to find one but sadly, nothing. However, I did see a EVH Wolfgang special with a beautiful black Drop D Floyd Rose and since it was the last one, I knew I had to get it. Also, saw a Marshall CODE 50 for a great price, so I scooped that up as well.The reason I am doing this review is because of Chris. He saw that the price of the guitar was $1000-$1100 (i cant remember exactly) and they were offering a 12 month 0% APR. Well, Since it was the 1st of the year, they switched their sales around. Chris got the price down to 800$ on the guitar and instead of a 12 month, he was able to get me a 24 month 0% APR.Hopefully someone that works there sees this. Because he is a big asset to that company/store and deserves to be promoted big time for always going above and beyond. Thanks Chris.

I went into this store because I needed my guitar to get repaired as it was a gift for my grandfather and I wanted to surprise him when I give it him. They said it would only take a week to fix and theyd call me. It took 4 weeks to get back and we had to call them as if we needed to remind them that they had the guitar in the first place. Alas the day came when I went to go pick up my guitar... No repairs were done except the string ends being cut for some reason. It was terrible and the workers were condescending except the younger one working there as well. I pray for him sometimes because of my experience

Smart workers and big place, they sell new and used also take your trade ins. many types of instruments like guitars, drums, brass, piano. Prices are ok and expect your trade ins value is about 50% of what you get on eBay buy it now prices. I bought Ibanez S series used for 250 but new cost about 500. I asked for a discount and I got 10% off which they approved so instead of 4 stars I gave 5 stars. Hope this helps if so hit helpful button. I highly recommend Ibanez S series guitar light and slim.

Went to purchase a music book they were very knowledgeable on which book my youngest wanted to play the drum set and they were very nice about it and let her sit down and play for a little bit the customer service was outstanding their selection of music books was abundance and it wasnt busy

Chris was helpful in purchasing my Ibanez. ***Update*** This review probably won’t change anything but I’ve been to this store several times this year and reluctantly spent well over $1,000. Although they have a better bass guitar selection my experience at this store was horrible. Staff is inattentive, indifferent and underwhelming. You will get treated poorly if they don’t think you’re buying anything of value and a hint of prejudice. I asked one of the staff about they’re financing promotion and the man had the gall to ask me “Do you have good credit ?” I’ve never been asked that outside of a car dealership when it really matters. There is never enough help at this specific store and you could wait a while before someone even acknowledges you. I’m thinking new management is needed or changes in corporate, not sure. I usually go to Replay Exchange where I always receive Excellent service but I hate the drive. Something should change here definitely though.

Recently I went to Sam ash to repair a parlor guitar . About 2 years ago they did a great job setting my fender guitar . It’s was a fender guitar that cost 400 $ and I want to sounds with a lot bass . After that the fender sound like a Martin guitar . So instead to repair the parlour I finance a Martin JR . Not happy with the Martin I changed for a Gibson G -45 standard. All this time the guy that helped me was Rich . He gave me to play all the guitar in the wall . He is a very polite guy . I am very picky so I stay there for so many hours ..... I know Sam ash but the only guy that I really know there is Rick so I have to thanks him for the wonderful treatment. First of all of this I went couple time to Guitar Center and even I like how big the store is . The have many guys that can help you but for me they live their own world and if u ask something they just point the place and that it . I asked an employee to unlock the expensive Martin and Taylor but he never show up. That doesn’t happen in Sam ash . Thanks Rick . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The best place to buy instruments and repair

Ive purchased several instruments from this Sam Ash location on Fletcher Ave. over past 10 + yrs. Employees change but same zen feeling good vibe.I only bought a Ukulele this time, very reasonable price, Thanks George! So cant comment on overall prices but have always gotten good deal$. Staff is courteous, positive & informative.

Sam Ash is an alright music store for a big chain. Ive been going there for years. Not always the most knowledgeable staff, but there are some old-timers there sometimes that are usually helpful. They back their guitars there better than Guitar Center and do free setups for new guitars. Descent selection of guitars and other music equipment.

Got a fair deal on a starter drum set here for our daughter. Had her is lessons here and it was reasonable. After all of the investment our daughter decided she didnt want to play the drums. Tripp and his coworker were great in getting my son set-up with his first cello. Tripp put in extra effort to make sure we were leaving with all that we needed, including ordering a new case for the instrument. Had a deal w a luthier here a few weeks back that caused some strife between me and the store. A manager here, Michael was directed to us and made sure that we came out of the store content. No special treatment, just listening and understanding what was needed to remedy the situation and our trust. Went from a customer who would not be returning to this store to a loyal one just like that.

I had bought a guitar, and needed it a new setup. I also came in looking to buy a bunch of strings. Let me tell you, the associates I talked with could not have been less helpful, or condescending. Think of the worst sterotypes about musicians, and that was basically it. I asked if they could order me some certain Gibson strings, and they said theyd get around too it -- spoiler alert: they never go back to me, even after I called to follow-up again. The people who did the work on my guitar after I got it back, could not have been less interested in telling me about the work was done, and seemed REALLY aggravated when I was asking them questions about it, as it was clearly beneath them to do so.This was all shocking, as I had frequented another Sam Ash up in New England, and I have always loved their service and selection. Its why I chose them over on-line retailers, Guitar Center, etc. Ever since this exchange, I have told myself I wont be going back, and instead bought an entire new guitar setup (guitar, amps, pedals, etc) through another retailer. Have no interest in going back, as they seem pretty dead set on not wanting to help people at this location.
