Took a powered subwoofer in for repair the first of the year. They replaced the power unit and things were great until last month when the sub quit again. Even though it was outside of the repair warranty, these folks had me bring it in for re-inspection at no charge. They found the sub to be fine and suggested a couple of other things I should check in my amplification. The first suggestion fixed it all. This is my third experience with this company over the years, and every time I have walked away very impressed. Could not recommend The Speaker Exchange any more highly than I do.

I needed to refoam my Minimus 77 speakers, but I wanted to see if there were rubber surrounds out there for this model like the Minimus 7 speakers use.I stumbled upon The Speaker Exchange and to my surprise they had exactly what I wanted. All of the measurements were easily viewable on their website so I could compare them with the actual measurements of the speaker and frame.The price was a few dollars more than the regular foam surrounds, but considering that these with last the lifetime of the speakers, it was an easy choice.The surrounds kit arrived in no time. It included the two surrounds, glue, and detailed instructions. I even watched the video as a refresher since I have not replace any surrounds in 2 years.Replacing the surrounds was extremely easy following the instructions and my prior knowledge. Even if you have never refoamed speakers, the video and the instructions gives anybody the proper knowledge on how to perform replacing the surrounds.Cathy at the speaker exchange was particularly helpful in etting me know about when my order would be shipped. See she is extremely knowledgeable about their stock and could answer any of your speaker questions.I would not hesitate to order from them again. They are definitely a standout company among all of those out there that are selling surrounds and other speaker parts..

Brought a sub amp last year and it took them 6 months to inform me that they cannot figure out whats wrong with it, I paid cash they refunded me with a check after telling me the couldnt find my amplifier so I waited almost an hour. Well after a year I found a replacement amp and began to do the swap when I noticed parts were missing, a ceramic capacitor was damaged, wires cut and re-soldered on the wrong side of the circuit board, so I called and whomever answered the phone very rudely, no one has touched this amp but them, I purchased it from amazon new. This place is slow, unprofessional, and scam artists!Talked to glen and I asked where the missing parts were and he stated I ate them he also refused to let me record the conversation.

Very friendly staff, that stands by what they sell. I bought a cerwin vega tweeter from them. I do live far away so I really wish I would of inspected the speaker before I left, but once I got home I realized the dome was pushed in on the tweeter (like kids do to the Walmart car stereo demo speakers)... The odd thing was there was a protective plastic piece covering it, so I have no idea how it happened. Anyway they exchanged it for another one no problem and even tested the new one before I left, just to make sure it was perfect. A+

I have ordered several different kits from the speaker exchange over the years. Cathy has helped me put together kits that work with frames I had that didnt have kits readily available, gathering the parts for me and getting them shipped fast. Just recently I ordered some GPA model 14 kits from them on a Friday, and they arrived on the following Monday in Iowa. Kits were perfect and had one installed within 15 minutes, then the hard part....waiting for the adhesive to completely cure!

I had a great pair of Warfedale 12 speakers that I was using in an OB system for years. I was very sad to see that the foam surrounds were on their way out so I looked on the internet for replacements. The Speaker Exchange were very helpful trying to match the original specification as close as possible and I bought two alternatives to try. The kit that arrived was great quality and the instructions very clear. The most challenging part, and it really wasnt that difficult, was removing the old surrond. The result is perfect. I bought a used powered amplifier from Big Box Music Co. It arrived in perfect order - except it was missing the fuse. not just the fuse, but the fuse holder - a tiny piece that you cant pick up just anywhere. I was gong to have to return the entire monitor just because of the missing fuse holder :-/It took me a while, but i finally found The Speaker Exchange - they had the part! They actually FIX things and dont just throw them away.I took a pair of Apogee Duetta Signatures to them for repair. These are large ribbon speakers and not something you see every day. I purchased a new low output amplifier board to a 1200 watt Behringer speaker. Service was quick and price was OK. With the new board I was able to repair the speaker in just a few minutes.

Great Customer Service, and Excellent work! I had Glenn repair my B&W Matrix 810 Series II speakers. He replicated the din plug cable for the mids and tweeters on both speakers, as mine were intermittently cutting out. B&W doesnt sell the part anymore, being that the speaker is older. I sent him the original part, and he recreated two of the cables, thereby further extending the life of these fantastic speakers. Glenn kept me in the loop the whole time, and I had the cables in less than a week. Glenn, Wayne, and Kathy are the best in the business. We have JBL Venue 12 powered sub, the board fried on it out of nowhere and we were out quality sound for movies at home. The comparable ones we were looking at were $500+. I recently had the rear drivers of my Infinity P-QPS surround speaker replaced by The Speaker Exchange. These speakers have been rattling for years so I never turned up my surround system. I dealt with a repairman named Glenn and requested that the drivers in my speaker is replace with the same material to match the drivers of my other speakers to ensure a smooth sound field. Glenn did a superb job replacing the drivers in my speakers. The work exceeded my expectations. My only problem now is sometimes I am staying up until one and two oclock in the morning listening to music.

Excellent work. Blew a woofer on one of my Matrix 802 S3s and unfortunately replacement units are no longer available. They reused my woofer and surround and replaced just the voice coil as requested.

What an awesome place! I brought my speakers in to be repaired, and they fixed them the very same day! My speakers are absolutely huge, and they unloaded them from my truck, and then reloaded them cheerfully when I picked them up that same day. A wire from the horn driver came loose from the crossover, and I had no idea where it went.I got to meet the owner Glen, and also talked to his wife on the phone. The price I was charged was nearly exactly what I was quoted. She told me it would be from 30 to 50 dollars, and it came to 41 dollars with tax.We are fortunate here in Tampa, to have a speaker repair shop like this.

Order a refoam kit for some Old JBL speakers I recovered and the support and service was top notch. Replied at all hours of the day quickly and helped walk me through the process with great instructions. Highly recommend these folks.

When I did a botch-job on my mid-woofer in my Sonab OD11s, I looked for someone who could fix what I messed up. Surprisingly difficult to find someone in the NYC area who would re-cone/re-foam a speaker for me. I then found The Speaker Exchange online, couldnt have been more pleasant from first contact to return delivery.Though the entire process took slightly longer than I thought it would, they took their time to find the right parts to do the repair correctly and it was all worth it when the speaker returned looking and working like new. Bonus points because they reused the old dustcap with original branding stamps so it actually looks like new old stock from the factory rather than a out-of-place, mismatched, new speaker in a vintage cabinet. I cannot recommend The Speaker Exchange enough!

I needed two different pairs of monitors repaired, both of which were no longer made by the manufacturer. One pair was over ten-years-old and I figured they were barely worth fixing in the first place cost-wise, and the other five-year-old pair was borderline not worth fixing cost-wise vs. buying the new current model of monitors. But I didnt want to buy a bunch of new equipment that I would have to re-learn and would question vs. my previous gear.Turns out, I made the right choice. They fixed BOTH sets of monitors at a cost I could afford as a student in the same month. Took about two weeks, maybe three wks at most. Their resident genius Mike called and explained exactly what he did to fix each pair and I swear the old pair that he performed considerably more work on now sounds better than they did in original issue. Maybe placebo, IDK, but I am very happy with those in particular. And as for the mains, turns out it was a simple glue/screw job - and they didnt overcharge me or over-complicate the situation, and got me squared away as quickly as possible.In fact, I had assumed this was going to be a bit of a black hole money wise, so I told them to fix the mains FIRST, then wed figure out what the old pair was going to cost and Id have them wait until I could afford to fix the second pair, but because of communication error, Mike had fixed the old pair first, then calls me to give me the good news. So I tell him I am thrilled, but I actually need the mains MORE lol.. he says gimme thirty and hangs up. Thirty minutes later, both my pairs of monitors are fixed - and for the cost of what I thought it would take to repair ONE pair. Im mad at myself for not seeking this business out years ago because I have been sitting on gear that wouldve come in handy, assuming the worst about it, when Speaker Exchange couldve resolved things smoothly for me a decade ago. Live and Learn. Customer for Life.Oh and heres the kicker: since I now have these old monitors back in business, I needed to re-assess my interface/monitor controller situation, and I was confused about which cords I would need, so another member of their staff by the name of Wayne helped me sort out the different cables and conversions I would need to incorporate the added monitors. Oh AND he 30-sec electrical checked out an old bose system I had laying around to confirm the speakers were working, free of charge. So this was a FANTASTIC experience, overall. Hands down one of the best music production investments I have made over the years.P.S. there was a distinguished gentleman who came in with a piece of vintage gear and requested that everything be kept in original condition using vintage parts, which apparently they do as well, since Wayne said that was possible at the time. Good to know, for anybody in that situation.

As an international customer with zero previous experience of speaker reconing I do not think I could possibly have had better luck than when I happened to choose the Speaker Exchange for parts supplier. Not only did they send me the right parts -they also provided instructions and used their experience in consulting me. Gene helped me piece together parts for complete reconing of eight 16 ohm Celestion 7442W 10-inch speakers from 1971. Before shipping the unassembled parts across the Atlantic (from Florida to Sweden) Gene checked all the parts and added a variety of shims (should I need them) together with printed instructions. Cathy gave me a discount for buying eight kits. Two weeks later it worked out beautifully !! Now my 1971 Marshall speaker columns sounds beyond what I could have dreamed of and I sleep well at night knowing that I have repaired and recycled instead of just buying new speakers produced in some low-wage country.
