I tend not to have luck here. I keep trying. But many times the pieces Im interested in have no prices on them. The store rarely has enough employees to help customers. And honestly, the prices arent that good. A lot of what they carry seems dated (not in a good vintage way, but like the late 90s way...big heavy clunky wooden entertainment centers and such), and much of it seems more worn than it should be for the prices. I know its a used furniture store, but the prices are similar to Vintage Post Marketplace (in Seminole Heights), the only difference is VPM appears to accept only pieces that are in much better shape.
Barbara batt Savage is a great tenant and a a+ store.
Always great finds at The Missing Piece. We are repeat customers (of both Tampa & Palm Harbor), and will always be. Great quality items at reasonable prices.
Very helpful and professional!!! Prices are wonderfully reasonable for slightly used furniture and decor!!! I highly recommend!!!
I’ve always felt this place was overpriced until my last visit. Most of the items here are high quality and would probably outlive me so now I see why prices reflect as such(still a great deal). I’m a bargain shopper with spending limits, so this store isn’t always my cup of tea, but I always believe in cycling through the same stores over the years because you never know what you’re going to find. Don’t be fooled when you walk in thinking they won’t have anything that pertains to your style, taste, and price because this place has something for everyone! I found a set of FOUR beautiful, modern chairs for $75! I had been eyeing these chairs for a while online waiting for a deal because they retail for around $80-$100 a piece. When the nice sales associate saw me gawking at them she came over to greet me and told me the price which in turn got a shocked look and quick sale. I am so giddy about my purchase that I have told everyone about them and how I saved between $245-$325 by finding them here. Do yourself a favor and just go check them out.
Nice place definitely nice furniture
Terrible!!!! They are very rude and unprofessional. Staff talks behind your back when shopping or dropping items off and not helpful at all. They should be out of business, or probably hire all new people! Will not be back and will let others no not to shop there either.
Loads of furniture. Great store
The instant you pay for something, you are on your own. We purchased a dresser and although it looked very solid and heavy it was not labeled a 4 person move in the store. Once delivery day came, the two movers they contracted tried to bring it up the stairs to no avail. I called the store and was put in contact with Zander (Manager) who indicated that once you pay for it and sign the delivery form it is out of their hands. He even offered to take it back to the store and consign it for me where we would get half our money back...what a nice guy! ;-) Make sure to read ALL the fine print if you shop here as when they say all sales are final, they mean it, even if it doesnt fit in your house or is improperly labeled. We had to get two other neighbors to help lift the piece. Due to their shady practices and lack of customer service I cannot recommend The Missing Piece. Dont waste your time or $$ here.
Had a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Beautiful place to shop and find one of a kind pieces. I love this place. Will definitely be going back.
We purchase many different pieces from both of The Missing Piece stores. In both locations we were serviced professionally and with true kindness. We even got a hug before we left. The selection was extraordinary and the presentation first class. And yes we are actual clients. We love our furniture and will continue to purchase from them. Delivery was prompt and also professional.
Relocated from Colorado and hoped to find fine consignment pieces for our new home. Both Tampa and Palm Harbor had just what we were looking for. If you find something you like....dont wait as it will be gone. Jamie at Tampa store WONDERFUL to work with. Great customer service at both stores. Prices reasonable for high-end furnishings. Shawn & Shawn Moving were fantastic with our deliveries. Extremely professional! Shout out to Bryan and team. We hired Shawn and Shawn for personal moving services. Again, all around great service! Thank you!
I was so happy someone told me about The Missing Piece. The service was excellent from scheduling pickup, to dropping off accessories, and all communication. They got all our furniture and accessories sold quickly. Thank you TMP!!!
This is one of best high-end furniture consignment shops in Tampa. I purchase pieces on and off from them. They are always the first and last place I go. I highly recommend this shop. They have higher standards than other shops. Fabulous candles too!
I bought two chairs and I love them and theyre so comfortable. What a great place to go when you need Quality Furniture. And you dont want to pay retail. Theres no need. This place is terrific! I list items in and around Tampa Bay for 1% so I get very busy. What a wonderful place just stopped and dream!
I LOVE this store. It is incredibly organized, clean, and shopabble. Jamie is INCREDIBLE! I told her exactly what I needed and she worked extremely hard to find it for me, even after I left. I will be going back here for sure in the future. Best in Tampa!!
I consigned quite a bit of nice bedroom furniture, occasional tables and lamps with The Missing Piece, and they sold all but one lamp within a couple of months. Their business model is excellent for consignors, and they update your sales daily via secure computer connection. Their website is excellent for buyers as well as sellers. They pay monthly on all sales, and unsold items are donated after three months, and the seller receives a tax form for a deduction. I was VERY pleased with my experience!
Love this place! I found what I wanted online, called the store for more information on it and the phone service was A-1, I even left an online message that was answered within a few hours. When I went into the store you could not ask for better service, my husband is disabled and my sales lady went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable (seated)while I shopped. No one was pushy, everyone was very friendly. Very easy purchase processing and the pick up the next day went very smooth. If you find something you like, get it when you see it, items move very quick. Ill keep watching their great websites, because I will make the 25 mile trip again. Love my purchase.
Clean, pleasant. Found many pieces of timeless furniture my husband and I are in love with. Thank you for doing such a great job!
You’re bound to find great finds in this high end consignment furniture store. The quality I have found in pieces purchased keeps me coming back. Try it. Browse through, you won’t regret it. Delivery is available or you can pick up, as they have pick up parking area.
Loved it! Went to both locations and bought a piece i know Im going to love! Great helpful staff also! Will shop there again.
This vendor takes obvious care in the selection and display of their furnishings. Its difficult to tell, in many cases, that the items have been used at all, or if so gently. The prices are reasonable in comparison with identical new items. Sales personnel are helpful, when needed, but do not hover over you or try to make sales. What a refreshing change from the typical furniture store. Delivery services are available at the customers option. All things considered, a very enjoyable experience.
I just wasted a week going through their onlinequoting procedure only to be told that the driverswould not pick up beds that had been disassembled.I was very clear with sales associate that I originally spoke with and Candice the appraiser that the bedsare disassembled and sitting in the garageThey said they still wanted the night stands andChest of drawers. Really? All or nothing.I purchased a home fully furnished and will have more very nice pieces from Matter Brothers and Waterford crystal. I will go elsewhere. Neveruse Missing Piece!Let me say, within a few minutes of this reviewThe owner contacted me and made it right.WELL DONE!This kind of attention to business to very hard tofind.I highly recommend this company !
I have purchased from here many times. I found the quality of furniture excellent and priced right. You can find an assortment of styles. I sold some pieces also they sell in a timed manner so if the item stay longer the selling price goes down which makes sense since time is money and floor space cost. This store has some mixed box items yes but this helps for those looking for this type too. They get those unusual items seen in magazines too. I recently went to purchase a glass coffee table, but instead found an amazing dining room set perfect price and had been looking for. Stop in and look often you will be surprised and find a deal. I almost didnt write this because its my hidden secret shop. So far my favorite if it change Iwill be the 1st to update. So far 5 star for 7yrs.
These people are so dishonest, and don’t even live up to their own consignment rules. They say that they will not accept furniture that smells musty, yet they will sell you musty furniture. To top it off, they will not return the musty furniture and issue a credit. In the store, they disguise musty smells with fragrant candles. Get the furniture delivered and your whole room starts to smell musty. I was declined a $2600. refund when I wanted them to take the musty furniture back, since they themselves don’t want to consign musty stuff. Bottom line, the old lady owner screwed me out of $ 2600.00. I had shopped there a lot before and gave them a lot of business, but after that incidence I have and never will go back. Others, after hearing this story have remarked that they too have not had good experiences there. Poor owners don’t realize being good to customers creates a lot of return business. Greediness and stubbornness keep people away multiplied!
Nice furniture, but way overpriced. Some items are higher quality but others are Pottery Barn/mass produced. The salespeople could use some sensitivity training- most give impression they couldnt care less if you come back or not.
Completely misrepresented a lot of oversized big furniture nothing small nothing inexpensiveIn addition to the above comment for clarification of my experience several people around town said that I should go there if I am looking for the little things that would add accent to my home this was not true there were no little things like little decorative dishes wine decanters candelabras picture frames it was not a resale shop as one would expect it was an high-end Upscale Resale consignment shop large pieces of furniture and large price tags almost everything I saw in the place that caught my eye at any level started at $1,000 I was looked at by the staff as I was dressed in my nice Wrangler jeans cowboy boots white tank top and plaid overshirt was not asked if I could be helped although my friend who was behind me by about 30 feet was asked he said no Im just looking that was it nobody said what are you looking for that was no customer service approach I asked one person a question and they said no we dont lie have stuff like that and gave no offering to point me in any direction to find smaller gift ideas this is the type of place for an interior decorator or somebody who is looking for that one specific item that theyre never going to find any furniture store or any thrift store are they any garage sale this is the place you go to find that really nice well capped piece of antique furniture that your grandma used to have that looks beautiful in your home if you can afford it and if they decide to treat you like you are worthy of being spoken to so again if youre looking for antique tea cups and saucers teapots decorative chess boards candlesticks candelabras that type of stuff that youre looking for that you can buy as a guest that you can give as a housewarming gift to somebody thats not from T.J.Maxx or Macys and it has a little more Slayer and a little more style a little more class than your typical housewarming gift this is not the place to go to for that this is the place you go to if youre spending $1,000 for a bookcase this Asian or from the late 40s and to make it very clear yes if I win the lottery and I had $8,000 to blow on things that I saw in there yeah theres about eight items I would buy but I would question whether or not I would want to spend the money based upon the service I received
A little over priced for what it was. I could pick the sideboard up on my own. It looked like a heavy expensive piece but unfortunately when i got home and unloaded it. I was shocked and disappointed. Hence the 3 stars only.
Loved it. Great used furniture pieces priced right. Bought a beautiful chest on chest. Go look around, youll probably find something you like.
UPDATE: 9/10/18 regarding your response - Youre getting a 1 * due to your lack of customer service. We didnt just get anyone to move the table, we hired the company that you recommended. In fact, you advised us to take pictures before we left just in case something happens to the table. Since the company YOU referred us to did the damage, I would think it would be in the best interest for both companies to consider the customer (who still wants to keep her table).___________________________________Sadly, I cannot recommend The Missing Piece due to their lack of customer service when the moving company they referred CRACKED the dining room table they delivered. All parties have agreed, with the pictures to document along the way, that the moving company is in error. Two people have tried to repair the table but it still has issues. The only offer the moving company has given is to refund the table, less the repairs, but they would take the table back! We would be hard pressed to find another table that we love as much on consignment. This isnt how you take care of the customer. I dont want to give you the table so you can turn around and sell it yourself.
Eclectic collection of furniture and decor some pieces are worth the price while most is over priced considering condition and manufacturer. Its good for the person who is looking for something different. But for overall upscale decorating not some place I would consider.
Ive both sold and bought items here helpful and very fair. With a wide variety of items to purchase for your home.
After having furniture we purchased delivered, we found that The Missing Piece neglected to send any of the required hardware to assemble it. After calling the store multiple times, we realized they weren’t going to do anything to rectify the error. This resulted in 6+ trips to Lowe’s to try to figure out what hardware to use. After we finally figured out what to use, the instructions for assembly did not match anything. We had to drill our holes to assemble the bed frame because not only was the hardware missing- the furniture was defective. What a joke. Will NOT be going back and I recommend not wasting your money here.
I just purchased a new home, so finding the right piece was extremely important, I have visited The Missing Piece several times and always found their pieces to be unique, so when I struggled to find the perfect breakfast nook, I decided to check their website, sure enough I found the perfect breakfast nook. I called to make sure it was still available, and spoke with Jaime. Thankfully it was still available. I drove from my new home in Hudson to Tampa for my missing piece. Very happy with my purchase.
Impressive knowledge of sales staff. Unusal quality furniture at a great value. Nothing here is cheap but nothing seems over priced. If you want to break away from what everyone is putting in their homes then this needs to be one of your stops.
Nice Everything for the house. Upscale consignment decor & reasonable price merchandise. A clean store to shop. Staff was nice & helpful.
It was very up beat / contemporary timeless pieces and antique s ..Beutiful collection .! I will b back 2 buy !!!
Every expensive and over priced for used furniture. Some items are outdated and worth the price as it can be found on the internet for less.the furniture is overpriced and though it is commissioned its not a great deal as they keep a large portion of it. Better off trying to sell it yourself and get what it worth. The night stands I looked at were 500 and I saw a pair on marketplace for a fraction of the price and in perfect condition.
A landmark in Tampa for used furniture. Lots of Good Finds for home furnishings.
Great selection of consignment pieces to compliment and design asthetic.Helpful staff.Delivery services provided at an additional charge.
A two for the nice items in store. The customer service was underwhelming. I literally stared at one of the workers in the face to see how long it would take for her to greet me as she stared back. Her only words, You looking for something? Could it be that I had on a work uniform so it looked like I wouldnt spend money? Moments later someone else walked in and was greeted like a normal human being. Terrible customer service. Even if I did fall in love with something, I would not have purchased because of the service I received (or lack thereof for that matter).
We love all the beautiful pieces that we got. Thank you!
Great store. Snooty salesperson
I have sold furniture all of my working days. It was hard for me to tell the things at Missing Piece were resale. I purchased a large secretary. They delivered it and took it up stairs. I loved the prices and service. I would recommend Missing Piece for purchase or sale. I will defiantly be back . It is a treasure chest of lovely things.
Their website is fabulous if youre looking for specific piece. Checked new arrivals daily until exactly the style dining table I wanted came in. Both stores have good sales people. Caroline Minor at Britton Plaza was especially helpful.
Its a good place to go shopping you find everything most everything unique
Best store for quality furniture! I have bought and sold many items over the years. I visit often just to see the new items. Things sell quickly, so it rare to see the same pieces each time. With that in mind... if you wait for something to be marked down youll more than likely miss out. Its happened to me in the past. Their Clearwater location is great as well if you live in that direction. Yes, I have made drive from my home in Apollo Beach a few times.I wish all the best for this business!
Great place for used furniture, huge selection, quality furniture at some pretty good prices. Reccomend checking out when looking for new to you furniture.
I have bought furniture and found the staff rude and not helpful unless they thought you were going to spend thousands of dollars which I was planning to furnish my downstairs but the staff is arrgont and so I left with buying nothing that day. I read some of the reviews from unhappy customers and you continue to have an attitude because you were given one star which you deserved. Horrible customer service and overpriced furniture!! Instead of berating customers because you dont like their comments why dont you find a solution instead of saying your standard response no refund. Stop defending your bad behavior!!!
Unique furniture finds and good bargains to be found. Visit often because the best pieces move fast!
This store is set up nicely and they carry mid range to higher end pieces. I will note that they are somewhat overpriced for a lot of their gently used furniture. We selected a nightstand for a guest room with a price tag that said $85, we went to check out and it rang up as approximately $300 (which it would not have been worth brand new - made of particle board with wood veneer and a huge made in Malaysia sticker on the back...pretty, but not high end at all). The associate checking us out agreed and called the manager on the phone. The manager insisted that the nightstand was $300, said the price tag was wrong, and instructed the associate to charge us more than the clearly marked price. (Sales tags also have a short description of the item, so we knew the tag hadnt been switched.) We will not return and cannot recommend this store to anyone due to the shady practice we experienced.I also noticed that the store has a policy of crying foul when customers complain - responding to the perceived fairness of reviews rather than the way their paying customers experienced their store or service. Perhaps if you held up your end of the bargain you wouldnt have to look juvenile and unprofessional online?
Once you purchase anything from them, costumer service goes to HELL!!! They offer loading service but at their availability. But they refuse to take any furniture apart (so what service is offer). They CON the costumer with the great deal and originality but they dont tell u if its working properly!! I will never BUY or RECOMMEND any one to purchase anything from this place!!!
I have the most beautiful antique pieces from this place the prices are amazing and the furniture is outstanding
Here is what they sell. Glued furniture!! We bought a table at The Missing Piece, South Tampa. when my husband came to pick up and tried to put in the car, a big piece broke off. He spoke with store manager named Xander and he refused to give the money back even though the item was still at the store. We told him that we are going to placed pictures in FB and all he would say is the item was sold as-is. We understand that part, however, it should be disclosed this item is glued. After the call, he slammed the door shut and my husband had to load it into the car on his own. Please dont waste your money in this store. The items are over priced and customer service is terrible. The instant you pay for something, you are on your own.
Full of great used furniture. They have couches, chairs, dining room sets, dressers, mirrors and even knick knacks and things to hang on wall. Pricesif they things dont sell. Recommend going
I have bought and sold many pieces of furniture at The Missing Piece. I type this as I am sitting on a fabulous bed purchased from the Britton Plaza location. Today (Sat 01/19/13), at the Britton Plaza store, I was treated poorly. Upon entering the store, I was greeted with “Can I help you we close in 14 minutes”. Another sales person bellowed: “CAN I HELP YOU!” in a tone that sounded like: “Can I help you – please leave quickly”. I left the store at 5:50pm, after doing a 2 minute lap around the store. I was shocked by my treatment, especially after having been a loyal customer for 10 years.
Nice selection of furniture but overpriced for a consignment store. They are as expensive as a new furniture store like Havertys.
I just tried to buy a coffee table and end tables from this store and the owner would not let me buy it because her movers had gone home for the day, even tho we intended on moving it myself. I asked if I could come back for it tomorrow and again was told no because they were short handed and couldnt supervise me getting it into my own car. Ive never heard of such a thing! I honestly think I was discriminated against bc I came in after working out and didnt look like I could afford shopping in their upscale store in the middle of the ghetto. If they only knew I was looking to furnish an entire house. They just lost out on thousands and thousands of dollars worth of sales (of which I can more than afford) bc of the owners snootiness. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!
Impeccable delightful variety, selection of truly one-of-a-kind finds, at such great prices!
My sales person was Caroline she is amazing
Nice pieces great customer service. I will be coming back soon.
This place should be sited for lack of ethics, specifially the staff and management. Never have I been talked to in such a demeaning manor and treated like my money was no good. Virginia Park would be better off without places like this doing business here. BUYER BEWARE!
Very nice consignment store, This is not an inexpensive store.
This place helped me find the missing piece
I took my new furniture there and they it had a small scratch on it. They said I had to pay to have it repaired and they would bill me for it. The fee was on $25. Went back to see the repairs they made and the same small scratch was there. Most of their furniture is not in perfect condition and is scratched. I purchased a piece of Ethan Allen furniture NEW and was never used and was taken their for resale. I dony even believe it was a scratch. But they are the professionals so I went for it.
Cute, very cute. Come check them out!
Always excellent furniture and great service!
Love that store so much
Good store to pick up that missing piece.
Selection was amazing and they made it so easy! Cant wait to stop back by next time to see what other distinguished appointments turn up!!
The service is pretty good, but I find the majority of the items that they sell to be overpriced.
Love the pieces here, the staff is lovely, very helpful, knowledgeable and nice
SHOP AROUND FIRST BEFORE CONSIGNING WITH THEM! They are unprofessional and rude.
They promised significantly more then they priced it for. They sold it on the first day, of course, because it was a bargain for the buyer, but a horrible deal for me. Their promises mean nothing, that that is about what I got at the end of the day - nothing!
Terrible! I bought a couch and there was a foul odor coming from it once I got it in my apartment! So make sure you smell the furniture!
It is not like your average furniture store
Unique items beautifully displayed
Had a bad experience dealing with Zander, the store delivery coordinator, but I spoke to Candace the owner and she took care of it.
Love the beige sofa.
Lovely things.
Great selection and quality.
Found nice furniture cheap
Great quality furniture!
To expencive for such used items
Great prices
Interesting place
Great place!!
Over priced for consignment
Just WOW!!
