I highly recommend this place, especially for brake repair. I spent over a month with a brake issue, brought it to 2 other shops that didnt know what the problem was or replaced parts but it didnt seem to resolve the issue. Found this place down the street and they were able to find the problem and fix in in a day. I appreciated the constant communication on updates of the repair and the knowledge shared to explain everything they did, even returning the replaced part so I could send it back. I was referred to Joe at Auto-Air Brake. I went by and met Joe and Bob did a diagnosis of my cars ac system. I needed a compressor, dryer and other parts. Joe gave me a great price but more importantly after talking with him I knew Joe and Bob are very skilled, knowledgeable and experienced mechanics and would do a great job. I set an appointment. I called the day before my appointment to confirm with them that I would be there and Joe told me my parts were already at his shop. I also had my drivers side low & high beam headlight out, my right blinker and my right fog lamp out and asked if they could replace the bulbs if I got the bulbs....sure no problem we can do it. To replace the bulbs in my car is no easy task a lot of parts removal to get to the bulbs to remove and then replace bulbs and re-assemble parts. I come to pick up my car and ask how much I owe and Joe is only charging me for ac system and I say what about the charge for replacing the bulbs and he refused to charge me and I even offered Bob some money for a good lunch he refused to take it. They both said if your happy bring you car back for any service or repairs needed in future and tell my friends about them. Im very happy and will refer my friends for sure. I highly recommend Joe & Bob.

Honest and fair. They actually advised against doing a $1,500 repair that Courtesy Toyota said was necessary and urgent. Repairs are always done right and at half the cost of the dealerships.

The best! Stopped by without an appointment to simply get a quote on fixing my ac. AC has been on/off again...lacking cold air. Went to 2 other places, who quoted me at least $800-1k.Joe and Bob, took a look, replaced a small part and it was good-to-go. Took them a total of 10 minutes or less. As for the cost...let’s just say these guys are honest, and they have officially become my go-to car shop. Note: They also refused to take any money for time or labor.

I was in a rush because it was hot and my a/c died. With about an hour notice they were able to find time for me to come by. Thankfully it was a quick fix. These guys have earned my trust and a returning customer for sure!

A truly wonderful experience this place is. I had my muffler replaced and it was way cheaper than anything the bigger companies like Midas would charge. Plus it was super fast, and really cool to get to see work done on my car. But by far my favorite part, was the old school customer service. You just dont get this kind of customer service anymore. I felt more like family or a friend than an income source. The bigger companies could take a cue from these guys. Being as this is a mom and pop type of business and its wonderful customer service, they have earned a customer for life. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

These guys are excellent people with prices that are beyond reasonable. Joe immediately diagnosed a problem as soon as he took my wheel off, and was patient, professional and thorough in his work and explanations. I actually tried to give him a little extra money when I paid for the work he did, but he refused it, stating my business with him was more important - how many people do you know that are like this these days!? My car is braking better than before; this shop will be my go-to in the future

I bought my truck in as the check engine light was on and it had a rough idle. They replaced a hose and told me to drive it for a week to make sure it was ok and come back in. One week later and the check engine light stayed off and it worked fine. I stopped back today to pay them and Joe would not accept any payment. This was my first time there and I will now always go back for any repairs and refer to friends. This shop is a true blessing!

I jumped in my car one day and was presented with a message on my screen notifying me that my brake fluid was low. I immediately searched for a car repair business nearby via Google Maps. I came across Auto-Air Brake & Muffler Specialists and called them. A gentleman named Joe presented me on the phone. I first asked Joe if they had any open availabilities today to have my car serviced; he said no. I secondly asked him if it was safe to drive with low brake fluid. His response was to swing by for him to check it out real quick. I went by, and he quickly checked my car. Joe added brake fluid to my car, and the issue ceased to exist. I tried to pay him, but he wouldnt accept payment. This establishment gets a grade A from me. Anyone who is going to care genuinely for an individual and help them out in todays society is great. Joe and Bob were very helpful. They replaced rotors and brakes reasonably. They have knowledge and skills to work on any make, model or year. No fancy garage, friendly, neighborly, hard worker ethics.

This place took a VW car that had a flat tire & put the spare on w/out charging a dime. All while having other cars that were being worked on & stopped just to quickly change the tire. Joel and his crew do excellent work and make very fast repairs. I pulled up with an issue, he diagnosed the problem accurately, ordered the part and had it delivered. I was back on the road within the hour.

I took my car in on 8/28/15 because my air wasnt functioning properly on my 2013 Nissan Altima; come to find out it was the compressor. Joe was extremely helpful and instead of telling me I had to get it fixed right away, he mentioned trying to speak with the dealer for assistance because it should not have gone out so quickly. Even though it was out of warranty, I figured I would try because it wouldnt hurt, right? Well after getting the run around from the local Nissan dealer and then their Corporate office, I got no where. They couldnt explain why it happened or how to prevent it from occurring again. I was simply told Its a case by case basis and its out of warranty Needless to say I will not be getting it fixed by Nissan and I will get it done at Joes shop. He truly cares about his customers and would like for them to save money when they can. I will definitely refer his shop to others. Its rare to find this kind of honesty and compassion.

Second time that I use their service.I brought my Chrysler 300 for brakes and rotors. And I had a problem with my stearing wheel (was very hard to drive and to turn). The Chrysler dealer had asked me $3,000....they said I needed to change the electronic stearing wheel box.Joe fixed with $15. Very honest man, to incredible job!I highly recommend this place!

This is an excellent shop. I drove up today with no appointment, had not been there before, with something loose underneath my car. These guys hoisted my car up immediately, fixed it right there in front of me (including removing some old rusted exhaust piping, which wasnt causing the problem, and then replacing it with new piping and welding it on the spot). They then did not charge me anything. I couldnt believe it. They insisted I pay nothing and just keep them in mind next time I need some service. I 100% recommend this place. They didnt hesitate for a second, they clearly know what theyre doing, and they have been there over 20 years.

I needed a new catalytic converter for my older van. I do not like large chains where the price has to support everyone from the top manager all the way down to the actual mechanic doing the work. So I went Friday to one of the nearest independent muffler shops, talked to John at Auto-Air, Brake & Muffler Specialists. I figured Id have to sign over my first born but was pleasantly surprised that the quote he gave me included parts and labor, and was still less than the part costs at various auto parts stores.Hand shake, he ordered converter and told me to show up Tuesday around 8am.Got there at 8, van goes on lift, John himself goes to work and barely 40 minutes later Im back on the road with a new catalytic converter.Cant have a more pleasant experience. I highly recommend this place.

I had some pretty severe grinding on my brakes and originally, I took my Jeep to the dealership to have it looked at. The dealership told me they were too busy to fit me in and I would have to come back sometime next week during normal business hours. (Not an option as I work normal business hours too.) Well, their loss because the guys at Auto-Air were FANTASTIC and I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR MY VEHICLE NEEDS!As a female, Im always apprehensive about taking my vehicle anywhere because, generally speaking, mechanics assume I dont know a windshield wiper from a tailpipe, and then try to sell me on some garbage I dont need. THESE GUYS DONT DO THAT! They were honest, did NOT over charge me a penny, and did a great job on fixing my car.I highly recommend!

I came in here not knowing what was wrong with my car they figured it out on the spot gave me extremely helpful advice and told me to drop it off in the morning it was done in a few hours and they even did a bunch of extra stuff for no cost and unbelievably reasonable prices. I had a magnaflow muffler installed on my 2012 tacoma by John. Most professional operation and installation I have seen. The price was more than reasonable and both brothers are great. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing exhaust work done. THE ABSOLUTE BEST IN TAMPA!

My 18 year old son needed his exhaust fixed and I had to be at work so he went by himself. They made him leave his car so he had to find a ride to work and a ride from work and all that for him to show up and not receive a call and they tell him he needed a catalytic converter which he did not need. The exhaust just needed to be fixed is all. They wanted to charge him 250. He ended up going to Mad hatter and they fixed it in less than an hour and only charged him $75.
