Chris was awesome - he was kind, didn’t nickel and dime me, and was super informative. Apparently, they’re a non-profit organization which made me feel a lot better when purchasing a used road bike from here. I’ve been back a few times since then to get some maintenance done and buy a bike rack. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking to get some repairs or a new bike.

An amazing bike shop! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive to my needs. They rightfully pointed out that my familys bike frame was bent, and didnt charge me for the labor costs of almost adding a wheel to the broken frame. Afterwards, they gave a 10% discount on a new bike if we turned in the broken bike, which was great! We ended up with a used, but excellent bike that far outshone our old one. Would recommend coming to this place if you need a bike repaired fast or a new bike.

What a great shop. John is the coolest cat around. You can donate,... Volunteer,... And or earn a bike by putting in some hours. You can put in some hours if you wanna learn about bike mechanics also. Its the only bike shop in Florida thats inside a mall. Very unique. They also are connected to Bike) Walk Tampa Bay.,... As well as help people out in the Tampa community. I give these guys a big thumbs up. Please support this shop cause they run on donations.

My rear quick release axle broke on my older model Trek 820 MTB. I was searching online (Amazon, Ebay, ) all they had was cheaper and not exact replacement parts. But this shop had the exact part. And the mechanic was very nice and helpful in giving me tips on installation. Moreover the price was very reasonable. I gave them extra money (in the donation box) for the service and parts. I would certainly do more business with this establishment.

Ive been trying to handle bike maintenance on my own but I stripped my derailleur adjustment screw so I took it in to get some help. Chris immediately put her up on the rack and checked it out. Made sure I didnt break it 😅 and put in a temporary replacement screw and ordered a new one. Then he adjusted the front and back for me and suggested some replacements for other things that were wearing out. No pressure. Super good prices (whole visit was $20. Adjustment and part). USF students get a discount. I want to say tune ups are half as much as average prices.On top of that, they are a non-profit that donates proceeds to charity. And they offer a public bike stand with tools (when not in pandemic times) Just an amazing group of people with an amazing mission. Theyll always be my first pick.

I cant say enough good things about this bike shop. Beyond the fact that they are a non-profit and committed to helping the community (which is fantastic), they do excellent work. Chris and Andy were so friendly, helpful, knowledgable and just kind as can be. I bought a refurbished bike for my daughter here then brought all my other bikes in for tune ups. They were honest about which bikes needed lots of work and which were simple tune ups. They worked with me when I wanted to do some fixes and not others. And they were so nice about breaking the news that my bike had a crack in the frame that was not reparable. They let me donate it for a discount on another (and much better!) bike. They definitely are a great value and an overall pleasant experience. I would recommend this bike shop to anyone!

Well Built Bikes is an extraordinary non-profit bicycle shop that empowers homeless persons to be part of a 2 day work effort in order to earn a bike for transportation.I am so utterly grateful for this opportunity to connect with this amazing group of caring professionals who have impacted my life in a positive way.I was gifted with an amazing womyns bike equipped with 21 gears and finely tuned with precision and compassion.Further, we had an informational safety class and part of the graduation was gifting us with a helmet, front light, back light and a heavy duty lock with suggestions of safe locking techniques.As a homeless resident of Metropolitan Ministries, I will be able to travel to/from work in order to save money and transition to a stable housing environment.Well Built Bikes has both equipped and empowered me with confident transportation in order to be hopeful and successful.I am deeply grateful for this competent and caring staff of bicycle mechanics and I pray for their continued ministry with the homeless community!Truly, they are not only talking the talk, but walking the walk as their actions speak of caring for others in need and spending their days actually doing so...BLESSED BE!

Great staff!I went in to donate some bikes we no longer need. Despite the rough shape of the donations, they were genuinely grateful and very kind.

Honestly the best place to get your bike and any gear you need. I just went to 3 places before finding the bike of my dreams at a price I can afford! All the bike brands they have are great and they are well refurbished.

Super nice employees! They explained everything my antique race bike needed to be fixed, they followed up by phone on their work and had it done as promised. Price was right and I got a military discount, nice ! My two teenage sons took a test ride and loved the performance. Perfect job, I wont go anywhere else again plus they are a Not for Profit so I donated a non functioning boys bike. First time visit, 110% expectations met ! Great job 👍

I recently moved to Tampa from Tulsa, OK, and the only bicycle shop listed as a not-for-profit operation was WelBuilt!... My bike needed everything, as it was recovered from having been stolen. The guys and gals at WellBuilt did a terrific job on my not-so-old aluminium frame cross-trainer pedal bike, and I highly recommend anyone with bicycle wants and needs to see them!

I bought a bike along with lock, pump, and bike lights more than 6 months ago. The guy was giving me helpful tips and was aware of my budget. I really felt like he genuinely cared about my experience and it wasn’t at all like a business transaction. Please consider buying a bike here as they build or refurbish by themselves and it’s a wonderful cause!!

Their repair prices are the best in town, and they have a great selection of pre-owned, workhorse bicycles. Their Earn-A-Bike program continues to provide transportation to individuals in need who volunteer a minimum of 10 hours within the shop itself.They also do a soft and casual community ride which leaves from the shop every Tuesday at 6:30pm (theyll even lend you some wheels if you need).Check it out! Well worth the visit!

Been meaning to write this. Used to be a bike commuter haven’t had a tune up in a while despite using my bike a lot. Had the best experience ever! They don’t mind questions at all which is great. Also other shops were a hassle to deal with in the area sometimes but wellbuilt was extremely flexible working with me to get my bike back on the road before I had to travel for work. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience will definitely be back.

So this was my third time going back to Wellbuilt bikes and I must say that I am extremely happy with the services they provided for me. I had a million and one questions about purchasing a new bike and all the staff that was there were extremely knowledgeable and helpful! This is by far one of the best bike shops in Tampa and what’s even better is that they give back to the community! 10/10 will be forever going back for all my cycling needs.

Got my bike in and out for a flat tire repair in about 15 minutes and it only cost me $15.

Fair priced used bikes this place serves the community well. If you can not afford a bike you are welcome to trade yout time for a bike. Helpful staff and nice store. If you need to work on a bike this place allows you to rwnt tools to do so in the store. Hope to see this place flourish as it is needed for the Tampa community.

I appreciate being able to actually earn a bicycle for travel. Especially in a place like Tampa where bicycle theft is so common.

Bikes were extremely expensive but the repair dept is cheap! I left because they couldnt do my bike for a few days even tho they didnt seem busy.

Staff was very friendly! Thank you! My children left very happy with their mew bikes!

Wellbuilt Bikes provide a service through the Earn-a-bike program for the poor and needy. They take donations of used bikes and those people volunteer where they repair and or refurbish them. Afterwards Wellbuilt places these bicycles on sale to the public. Then all profits fuel the store and other ventures they provide through their non-profit, The Well. All bicycle sales have a 60 day warranty too!
