Great staff. Were able to fix my bike while I waited. Thanks guys!!
I was looking to have a custom build of an All City Cycles bike and these guys made the entire process a total breeze. I was even pushing to have certain specs (Tires and Wheels) put on and they explained why for the riding I was doing they had a better option without an up-charge. The bike came out perfect and I would absolutely recommend anyone to use this shop if youre in the area.
Rented bikes today to hit the Tampa Riverwalk. Great place and the staff were great. They gave us a map of the area and told us where to go. Stay away from the town bikes. Sounds like that they have issues with overcharging you. Rent from the local shop and you can never go wrong. 5 stars
What a great bike shop with an awesome group of employees that are very ready to help. We rented two road bikes for three days and they were perfect. Perfect fit and perfect for the trail and road condition of Tampa. They were more than willing to work with us, at no cost, for the return time and would have given us another day had we stayed in town longer. We will go here again, for sure.
They treat and serve you like family. There honest and go the extra mile to check and see if your problem is really your problem or if theres something else or more. Honestly the best bikeshop in Tampa I know, period!
Kind, knowledgeable, and fair with pricing. Will often help you for free. Great local business!
Very satisfied with my bike rental here. Comfortable, quick 3 speed cruiser, friendly service, they even provided lock, helmet, and flat kit (didnβt need it!). Great weekly rate
I have really enjoyed my visit there. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I came in with an issue where my chain was jumping teeth. They took the bike in the back for about 10 min and got it sorted out. My hybrid bike is riding and shifting like new again. They have also suggested a chain cleaner & lubricant for me as well. Very pleased with this shop. Highly recommend.
I bought a Surly Bridge Club from them and it was a good experience...
Very good price on bike rentals. Good customer service and very convenient.
My absolute favorite bike shop in Tampa. Owners are friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. Staff is always awesome to deal with and they always take great care of your bike.
Very helpful and friendly staff at an unbeatable location. Sarah has helped me now several times!
If you guys want to support a truly local and down to earth bike shop, this is the place youβre gonna want to go!
Great service! Had the parts I needed, and quickly checked other parts on my bike. Staff were on point and helpful with lots of hustle and also knowledgeable.
A very positive review:A little more wordy than usual because I bring in some historical perspective from 1961, ha ha. But very happy with this shop today.--Took my Giant 10-speed road comfort bicycle in for periodic service today. They said I didnt need a full tune-up, but repaired the front brake, cleaned up all the moving parts, replaced the drive train, checked the tires, had it done in a few hours, and said it should ride like a brand new bike. Everything came to $68.25, which I considered a very fair price, and was frankly a little less than I had planned when I thought I needed a more formal tuneup. And I found the bike shop people friendly, helpful, quite timely, and competent. But that price brought to mind another bicycle transaction. Christmas, 1961, I really, really, really wanted my first ten-speed and my dad said that $69 for a Schwinn Varsity was a little pricey (I had already pared my request from a Schwinn Continental, which was $10 more.) (The Schwinn name was a little more prestigious back then than now.)So Dad really, really discouraged me from expecting it under the Christmas tree -- and, of course, the morning of December 25, there it was. #BestChristmasEverMy point, though, is that 10-speed cost $69 -- the whole bicycle! And now thats roughly the price for a few hours maintenance. Things have changed since 1961
I had a flat tire and looked up the nearest bike shop, and they conveniently had a bike pump right outside the front door, which saved the day. Went inside and got help from a knowledgeable guy named Austin and since the store wasnβt busy, he was glad to help me out, I would definitely come back here for any of my bike needs!
What I love about City Bike Tampa is that Kevin, Mario, and Leo meet you where you are and walk you through the process of buying a bike or repairs. Ive been to other shops and have left either scratching my head or feeling belittled after being tested on the make and model of every component on my bikes.... What does it matter what kind of jockey wheels I have? I came in here for a inner tube... I digress, my point is bikes are meant to be fun and this team understands that. I have had my bikes serviced here for years, have purchased bikes from City Bike and have had several friends that have purchased bikes here and all have had similar experiences.
Awesome service. Walked in with what I thought would be a costly repair that would also take a lot of time. Turned out to be simple enough for them to fix right away.
Very affordable! Sent myBike from Missouri to here after which they received and reassembled after cleaning! Excellent job!
Ive been going to this shop for YEARS the staff and owner have been nothing but kind and helpful!
Best local bike shop!Everyone on the staff is friendly and knowledgable. My son and I were in town for a short stay. Mario took care of us and he was AMAZING! Not only did he match us to the perfect bikes, he gave us excellent tips on when to go and what to see. This is the place to go if you want exceptional customer service!!
GREAT!!My nephews bike needed a tire repair and was not usable so he borrowed his brothers bike to ride to school and fell and injured himself. We wanted to get his bike fixed ASAP . We took the bike into the shop and was welcomed by Lou - when we explained the situation he said no problem and we wheeled the bike in for repairs. The job took 10 minutes and it was as good as new. Thanks to Lou for being so friendly and accommodating to us.I really recommend them- City Bike is the best!!!
Just finished my trip a few minutes ago and it was great. Personal was funny, helpful and friendly. While it is a bit more expensive than Coast Bike Share, the bikes were significantly better, you receive a lock and a helmet (included) and lastly they are very tolerant, i.e., I had the bike for about 1.5 hours and they only charged me 1 hour. To sum it up: great experience. Thank you!
Super friendly staff and helped me with some bolts I was missing within minutes. Quality spot. Thanks
Citibike is the best in Tampa in downtown central location, in-service with the best staff, and definitely in price of most of Tampa. I ride a bike for disabled handcycle and they treat me right! Oh thank you
The best customer service, even with COVID going on this group delivered me an awesome Surly bike. Thank you Mario for the great service and Leo, thank you for introducing me to the Surly product.
Friendly knowledgeable staff! Expert maintenance & repairs. You will have to search far & wide to find a shop this professional & reasonable. And if you need a bike, they wont pressure you into anything more than what you need for your syle of riding.
Very good shop!I had my bike tube changed here. The staff are really helpful and friendly πππ
This shop serviced my bike a few weeks ago. I had one problem at the time...the foot holder on one of my pedals fell off. So I thought maybe its a good time to have them do a tune-up. Well, after spending $130 my bike has not worked correctly since. I brought it back to me 3 times with the same problem. Each time they tell me I need this, I need that and thatll be an additional $50 or more. I would trust these folks as they are not honest or are simply incompetent. Stay away!!
Friendly and professional. I wrote a lessor review but am revisiting it because they fixed the situation without me even mentioning it to them. People are nice and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
I went in fully expecting to need a new bike, but the folks in there told me they could fix up my cheap bike, which they did for a much better price than I was hoping for. They could have easily taken advantage of my ignorance and instead were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back for all my future bike needs.
I went into the City Bike rather angry after my experience with Davidβs World bicycle store...poor City Bike employee. I have been going on and off for a year to the store I purchased my bicycle to get chronic problems fixed. In doing so every time it came back in worse condition. So I brought it to City Bike to get it looked at. The employee(s) are very nice. They quoted me $70 to tune it up. I was thinking only $70. Go for it! Bicycle was done early and charge was only $40. Pretty reasonable since I was expecting $100 for someone just to look at it. In conclusion the bicycle is performing better than when I got it off the shelf! Very pleased all around. Definitely going back to get my next bicycle at City Bike and for future maintenance.Update: 2 months in and not a single issue. Had the chance of having to change my back tube out and everything went smoothly. The tire seated with no effort and tire came off rim with the advice from City Bike employee. Noticed the rim tape was replaced completely and installed better than previous when David Worlds Tech was supposed to have done a complete new rear rim job. So happy with my bike now and confident everything works the way it supposed to. Thanks guys!
I went in the shop today to get my wheelchair tires replaced and I am so glad I did. Austin and Kevin both immediately handled the replacement and had me in and out of the shop in 15 minutes. Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly guys. Iβm happy I found this place because theyβll have my continuing business from here on out!
Cant say enough about Kevin (The Owner) and his crew of very knowledgeable folks that work at his shop. Very friendly as well.I had the odd experience with Kevin. I rented a bike that was stolen, so I had to buy him a new bike and then I was fortunate to get the stolen bike back!Kevin is a very knowledgeable owner and a huge bike advocate in Tampa. He will answer any questions you have about routes around town to what you need to know about tuning/fixing up your bike.
Great shop. Super convenient location. Friendly staff.
Post publicly:Tampa City Bike reps are insightful and helpful for bike needs. Mario is nice and helps with pointers about bike styles that change in this ever changing US.The other guys do a great job with providing helpful suggestions associated to bike tools that help support bike rides smoother.π
Super cool staff and great service! Expert help on new bike purchases. Check them out for sure!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop! Everyone is soooooo friendly and welcoming. They also have a great rental bike program! If youβre in Tampa, need a bike, or even just a cool t-shirt, THIS is the place to go.
I highly recommend this bike shop. They donated a childrens bike helmet for our Christmas Toy Drive. The helmet was high quality and perfect the 6 year old girl it went to. The staff was wonderful when we went in to pick it up. I will definitely be back for all my biking needs!
Great equipment, great staff. I took a short ride on Davis Island on vacation in Tampa. I left City Bike Tampa with a great road bike, a loaner helmet, a loaner lock, and a repair kit with a spare tube.
Awesome bike shop! Kevin was super helpful in guiding me through what kind of bike I was looking for and let me test out several before making the decision. Austin put on some awesome fenders and a rack and showed me how to fix a flat tire.Great service and really nice people!
A very welcoming and practical neighborhood shop. My wife and I were in town for a day and rented two All-City Spacehorses to do a bit of sightseeing. They provide toolkits, locks, and helmets. A nice selection of useful bikes and supplies. Also a very fine shop dog, Macy.
I live right next to the Trek store on De Leon and just a few blocks from Flying Fish on MacDill but decided to take my bike for service to City Bike based on the positive Google reviews, and I am very pleased with my decision. When I dropped my bike off, Kevin inspected my bike and walked me through everything that would be done and pointed out a few trouble areas I would need to keep an eye on. As a new road biker, I really valued this because I am trying to learn the basics of bikes and how to upkeep them the best I can. He talked to me for about 15 minutes and answered all of my questions. He also was very laid back and did not try to sell me things I didnt need; he made me feel very comfortable. I asked for the annual service ($100, which is already a deal, and he was offering it at 50% off at the time I took in my bike!), but because my bike was in such good condition already, he only charged me $35 instead of $50. I really appreciated that, because even though I was ready to pay the $50, its nice to know that he charged me based on what my bike actually needed, not just what the store offers as a price. When I picked up my bike, it was like new again--carefully cleaned and adjusted with tight brakes again. I was very pleased. This is a great little locally owned store right in downtown that will treat you like an individual and a valued customer. They will even pick your bike up for service if you need it, though I didnt. They also host weekly group rides on Monday and monthly eat-and-ride tours. You can use their website to schedule a service appointment, and you will get an email back that day from the shop confirming your appointment. (I thought this was nice because most online scheduling tools seem to get lost in the shuffle or mixed up for other businesses Ive tried them for.) I will definitely be back for bike upgrades and service in the future!
City Bike Tampa is the bike shop that represents what Tampa is about. A small business that goes above and beyond for new customers and regulars a like. Kevin and Leo are solid dudes, I trust them with my wheels. Any need big or small they have you covered, repairs and accessories are reasonably priced. If you live in or around downtown, channelside, ybor, or any surrounding neighborhood this is your shop.
Great shop! Good prices and the guys who work there are awesome! Very honest and helpful. Quality bikes for sale, as well!
Super friendly, great to do business with!!Reasonable price
Last Sunday while I was out biking my crankshaft came loose one of the staff were nice enough to tighten it back down got back on the road what a nice bike shop will definitely return for my next repair thank you guys
The day before Christmas I broke my sons new bike I had just bought at Walmart getting it out of the car. I took it to City Bike and enjoyed a great conversation with Leo and Mario while they fixed the break handle. Awesome place and people who turned what could have been a major bummer Christmas morning into a great experience! Thanks guys!!!
I needed a seat post after my seat got stolen & found out the post did too when I went to another bike shop (Trek Tampa) to get help w/ putting it on correctly. City Bike offered me the lowest price & the service was awesome. The co owner gave me some quick tips on how to position the seat & greased the pole up for me!!!!
I have been an infrequent customer since City Bike was in its old location and owned by Jason & Kelly. The reason for the low rating is a result of always feeling nickel & dimed since the new ownership. I recently paid $75 to have a new bike I purchased online put together and the crank is making clicking noises after just 3 weeks. I took it to Kevin and he told me it would be $25 to fix. This is terrible customer service. Ive only rode my bike 10-15 times at that point and always on roads. This is just one instance of similar experiences I have had there.I wouldβve taken it to Joe Haskins to get it assembled for just $30 that they charged, but they happened to be closed for a few days at the time b/c Joe was in the hospital. Joe has assembled a few of my other bikes and always stands behind his work by making any adjustments, etc. for free. When Joe does charge me its $5 or $10. I understand that City Bikes rent is higher and therefore their rates are too, but not fixing my bike for free when something was put together loosely is terrible service. I must say, thats the fastest way to drive away recurring customers.I would like to mention that the other employees at City bike are always friendly and courteous each time I drop in.
Nice guys, who know their stuff. They do quality work and are really laid back. I see them all around town at most bicycle related events and they are always friendly. You can show up, chat it up for a while and not feel pressured to buy anything.. Also, they go above and beyond when you take your bike there, my bike looked like it was detailed when I got it back. Big 5 stars to this shop.
Kevin and Leo are wonderful. Love the laid back hang out awhile vibe. Big leather couch and of course cool canine Macy there chilln with her pack. Love this place!
Just took my 3 speed in there for a tune up. The guys there are super friendly and chill. I didnt realize how jacked up my bike was until after the got it all tightened up. I was pleased. Unique selection of brands and bikes too. I believe a bicycle shop earns its business by embracing the local population. They do this.
Macy is the consummate hostess. Kevin, Leo, and Mario can handle anything you need. Great shop with a laid-back, in town vibe.
Kevin, Mario, & Leo are great guys. Very quick to help and give you insight on any and every question you may have. For sure where I will be visiting for all of my biking needs
Free air sometimes but pricey store overall found items cheaper elsewhere. Nice bikes & bike rentals available I believe
This place is great. Fanstastic people working there and extremely knowledgeable about more than bikes alone.
Awesome experience. He fixed our Bike carriage tires in 15 minutes. Thats service. I would not hesitate to go here. Top Notch.
Ive brought my bike to City Bike Tampa twice, and not only was the staff very knowledgable, they were VERY helpful. Although I just needed to get a new tube for the tire the first time, and the bike chain tightened the second, they did a full once-over to make sure everything was in good condition. This extra attention ranged from adding a little bit more air to the tires to tightening the bike seat that was loose.Excellent service-- wouldnt bring my bike anywhere else.
Been coming here for years, great staff and great service
I enthusiastically recommend City Bike Tampa. Last week, I brought in my 11 year old Jamis Explorer for a performance tuneup. My bike was ready when promised, looked better than new (the cranks gleam now!), and every control felt as smooth as silk. In fact, I parked her in the living room when I brought her home! Then, last Saturday, I took her on a 50 mile Pinellas Trail test run, and everything performed flawlessly (except for me... I about overheated...). They did a great job, were friendly and helpful with any questions I had, and there wasnt a single penny in extra charges, even though I had told them to do whatever was needed. I will most definitely be back! (EDIT: I am NOT some paid reviewer, as a person posting another review implied regarding positive comments. Ive met Kelly on one of the restaurant rides, and she, along with her husband, were extremely friendly. But, just so everyone knows, in the past week, they have sold their store to existing employees so they could concentrate on bike touring and tourism. So the snarky little insult comments about her no longer apply... if they ever did in the first place.)
Best bike shop in the Bay! Friendly service, professional repairs and a can-do attitude that you wont find elsewhere. Thanks Jim and Kevin for all your great work!
Got my tri bike serviced and fitted here. Very reasonable price and fantastic service - what more could you want? I highly recommend City Bike.
Fun little group, lots of activities- owners are awesome. Highly recommend- its great to support small businesses and this one makes the experience of Tampa unique and entertaining! Go for it!
I have been a customer of City Bike Tampa for two years and have had great experiences with purchasing a Bike, servicing my family bikes as well as receiving great advice for service, maintenance, biking tips and accessories. I would recommend Kellie, Jason and Kevin to all my family and friends. thanks.
Really nice people who are in to what they do. Great to see such a worthwhile place in downtown Tampa.
Dont believe those crabby-pantses above...sounds like a smear campaign from some rather immature individuals. The TRUTH is this: this is a great shop, with owners who are VERY invested in making Tampa bicycle culture better. Ive spent countless hours in this shop, browsing, purchasing, talking to the mechanics and with Kellie and Jason...I never saw or experienced anything but great service and friendliness to spare.Go here -- spend your money. Soak up some of the friendly vibe. Go on an urban restaurant tour with the folks from the shop. Go away happy. Simple as that.
Nice selection of city/urban bikes that are realistic for he area that you will be riding in - A great spot for locals living downtown or nearby area that want to find a bike that will be useful for just cruising around. The store is limited in selection but what they carry makes sense. Not to mention that if you need a quick repair this is the place to stop by so you can get back on the road again. They are also located right near the new dedicated bike traffic lane. A perfect location! All of the guys Ive met there so far have been really cool, warm, welcoming and inviting. Just down to earth type folks. Plus they have a super cool canine (Macey) shop dog that is worth the visit just to say hi.
The lady that works there (I think her name is Kelly) is a conceited you-know-what. I have never encountered anyone that rude and incompetent in my life! She treats you as though she is better than you and has no filter. Also she has no business working in a profession she knows nothing about. Thankfully a guy named Kevin was able to help me, but ultimately I would NEVER go there again after the way I was treated.
UNBELIEVABLE! These people are unalterably out of their minds. To make a long story short, I went in there to purchase new brakes for my bike - a Diamondback Mission Pro - very nice, high end bike. After waiting around 20 minutes for someone to help me, a woman came out and simply says Yes? what kind of greeting is that?? So I asked her if that was how she greeted all her potential customers... The next words from her mouth (I kid you not) were Get out. I said excuse me? I explained that I was simply there to inquire about brakes for my bike, and she says she doesnt care and that I need to leave. I said fine, ill happily take my business elsewhere if I am going to be treated like that, but then asked to speak to the manager or owner briefly before I leave to tell them of their employees bad demeanor and she replies Hi, my name is Kelly and I am the owner. How can I help you? in a really sarcastic and demeaning way. After that all I could do is shake my head and walk away. That lady who claims to be the owner has some SERIOUS ISSUES... Stay away from this place. From there I went to Carrollwood Bicycle Emporium as it was well rated on Google and was treated very well. Was asked if I needed help as soon as I walked in the door.
Great staff, very knowledgeable. I got a tune up, they did an amazing job my bike was like brand new after.
What amazing service. I rented a road bike for a day to tour the Tampa area. All staff I talked to knowledgeably and kindly helped me along my adventure.
Ive seen the good reviews, and I have seen the bad reviews... It is my opinion that the good review are probably PAID reviews because dealing with these people in any capacity is an absolute nightmare in my experience. The lady who claims she is the owner is very self-absorbed and rude... if you dont want to do things her way, then out the door you go is how I felt. Maybe the people that go there like to overpay and be treated like crap? Dont know, but there are much better bike shops in the area that are more knowledgeable and affordable...
Iβve loved City Bike Tampa ever since Iβve moved here a few years ago. Great service and they are so good to the biking community in Tampa.
Outstanding service. I stopped on a bike tour and the they were awesome. Thanks!
Great staff. Energetic. Knowledgable. Friendly. Personable. They hooked us up with matching red cruisers to match our matching red NIKES we were sporting... Lol.They Gave great ideas on the best rideing routes complete with a detailed map that came in very handy. This was our 1st time to the Tampa area.It was the most amazing weather, ever.We had a blast. Thanks City Bike Tampa!!
Great rental experience and customer service! Everyone at the shop was helpful, friendly and accommodating. Will definitely visit again when in Tampa.
Super friendly staff, fixed my minor issue while I waited. Offer free bike pick up and drop off. Ill be back!
They worked with me and my ratty ole Huffy just as if it were a Butterfly Trek Madone. This is where Ill come to for the upgrade. Matt, you miracle worker! Just bring back the dog and this will be a 6 star review.
Good people, great service, knowledge of all bikes, reasonable prices. Over all I truly recommend these guys for sure.
FIVE STAR SERVICE AND FIVE STAR CUSTOMER FREINDLY, Austin and Emily are awesome Techs and know there bikes inside out. Only Bike shop I will ever frequent in Tampa. Prices and Service are better then anybody around.
Ive been going to this place for years, and I keep coming back because the service is incredible, and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Great folks, good rentals. My go to shop whenever I am in the area.
Awesome place. Very knowledgeable team!!
These guys are great, took my bike there for a tune up.. they did a great job and had a lot of good advice
Cool place, with slow mobile website (with video!) that takes forever to load. Hang in there, it will eventually load ;)
Very friendly and quick service. Ive been going here for various things for 3 years and never been disappointed.
Great people, really know their stuff. Stop in and see the best shop dog in Tampa.
Coolest staff I go there all the time free air in my flat tires and tune up the bike always fast and friendly
Awesome place. Great people. Very helpful in the local downtown bike community!!!!
Owner accomidated me by coming after hours to get my rental after I had air delays. Very friendly service and very helpful.
Rented bikes from them and found them to be super nice and knowledgeable. These guys just love biking and theyre super helpful.
Great shop. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Wandered into this shop from out of town while visiting tampa...after noticing the surly and all-city bikes in the window. man, this place made me feel right at home!!! super cool shop and rad vibe. leo and kevin were the nicest guys!! after chatting them up for awhile i asked if the bar next door was a good place to grab a beer. before i could even finish, leo was handing me a local ipa out of their personal mini fridge. good selection of bicycle products and they had some shop schwag (bottles, t-shirts, tanks etc) that i purchased to show some love. very clean and tidy shop, to boot! if i ever visit tampa again, this will be the FIRST place that i stop.thanks again guys for making me feel right at home!!!
The parts that they have in here are so affordable and it is almost like a bargain because they also have a great team in here that will help you to choose.
This a great bike shop with with an exceptional group of people running the show.
