I went there with my boyfriend and his parents and did not have a good experience. My boyfriends mom needed to get some air after browsing for awhile so she stepped outside. She told us that the man working there that kept creepily peering out the window looking around at her! Weird! Then as we were still looking around, the same man kept lurking around us making us feel uncomfortable. Needless to say we left after that. Plus the antiques were way overpriced!

You will be AMAZED! My wife and I enjoy antiquing, so we’ll visit the typical little shops here and there in the Tampa, St. Pete area. There you’ll see the typical items that folks have dug up and are now finally ready to sell. This is NOT the case with Gaslight Antiques! There are 3 buildings all filled with mostly museum quality items. Everything from turn of the century lamps, statues, furniture, books and everything in between. Now, given the high quality of the items be prepared to pay. While they are willing to negotiate, they don’t negotiate to the same degree I found in other shops. None-the-less, we’ve purchased several items and we love them all! Good luck! Happy hunting! You will NOT be disappointed.

This is the one place that carries true quality antiques in the greater Tampa Bay area, and central Florida. The prices reflect the quality and condition versus the rougher and less expensive pieces at other stores. There are 3 showrooms, all worth viewing. You will find mostly furniture, paintings, and various collectible antiques. This store is a must visit for those that appreciate fine antiques.

Came here with my friend a couple of days ago. Been thinking about it since so I had to write a review. Gaslight antiques is so cool! They have three buildings, filled to the brim with amazing old stuff. The man working there was very kind, answering all of our questions. He didn’t seem to treat us any differently just because we were younger than the average customer. Many things there are very expensive, but there is also a huge selection of things that aren’t. Spoons and keys, for example, are only $4-$7. If you’re in Tampa, this is the place to go for quality antiques!

This is my new favorite antique store. It is fully stocked with lots of great condition antiquities. They have so many items, youre sure to find exactly what youre looking for. They have 2 store fronts, one is solely office furniture. WE love this store. We will be back. The store itself was super clean and the owners were super helpful and very kind. Prices are a bit high, but you wont find their merchandise anywhere else.

This is what I consider a real antique store. With a broad selection of 18th and 19th century pieces, I was able to find just what I was looking for(see picture) at a great price. The employee, which seemed like the owner, knew just about everything about all the pieces in the store and was able to help me nail down just what I was looking for. I will definitely be back to buy more antiques to furnish my home further.

This antique store is a true gem! One of those stores with such an amazing curated collection that you only come across in a lifetime. The staff who work here are just the sweetest, friendly, knowledgeable, and really care about the pieces. I am so happy with my purchase, a Barrister bookcase, its like a familiar family heirloom. This store has so much to see, you could spend hours and still discover something new the next time you visit. If you are in town, Gaslight Antiques is not to be missed! Pure quality items, a feast for the eyes, and something for everyone.

Tampa is so fortunate to have such a wonderful antique store like Gaslight Antiques. I have purchased many oak pieces over the years and I love each piece like I purchased it yesterday. The owners, Vikki and David have been become experts in authenticity of what they sell after almost 40 years of experience. The furniture is in mint condition and the accessories are unique and often whimsical and of course historical ( civil war). If you are looking for flea market finds or shabby chic, this is not the store for you. However, if you want beautiful timeless furniture, lamps or very interesting accessories this is a wonderful place to visit.

Purchased a piece of what was said to be Tiffany but after taking it to a professional dealer of Tiffany & Company was told it was a fake. Spent over $600 for something that should have been tossed in the trash. BUYER BEWARE!! If you shop here you better know what is real and fake or the owner will take you for a ride too!

Definitely a place with a big selection of furniture and design items. Some furniture pieces are true antiques, some are more vintage, prices of course reflect that. Some pieces are even on par in price with modern veneered-MDF items! French owner has a lot of knowledge and love for her pieces, she can definitely help you find what you are looking for! Go on in if you are looking for something in particular or just for inspiration, you will be drawn to go back! The owner is kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. She keeps things in great condition, so yes, you might pay a tad more than scouring through estate sales, but it is absolutely worth it!

I went to the Store about three months ago. When I walked in the door the owners wife was there and greeted me. Very nice lady. The store was over flowing with nice pieces. As I walked around the owners wife followed me and asked a lot of questions trying to help me find something unique. I explained Im interested in pieces that were unique and on the macabre side. So she pointed out a glass window. She gave me a story about it coming from an insane asylum in upstate NY. However she didnt have anything to back the story up. That should have been clue #1 for me. I inspected the window and it appeared to be old. However I noticed the inlay of the signs in the glass appeared flawless. That should have been clue #2 for me. As I walked around she used the high pressure sales technique on me like a used car salesman. That should have been clue #3 for me. Well, I fell for it and purchased the window she claimed to be vintage for $250 giving me a $25 discount. Well today I went to an antique festival. Low and behold there were several vendors selling the same and similar windows by the dozens. They were asking $50-$100 a piece and were made in China! Im pissed that I allowed myself to be tricked and pressured. She got me good. That being said, I will never return to this place ever again. I will not support this business of lies and shady sales techniques. I will not recommend anyone I know or talk too, to go to this store. Its a lesson learned for me at the expense of my wallet.

Was shown 5 tintypes in a locked case. All were over $200 and only one was a legit antique. 4 were reproductions on aluminium. When I asked him if he was aware that they are modern reproductions, he responded “yep”.There is no excuse for someone to tag a modern reproduction $200+ unless they are looking to rip someone off.

First impressions are the always most important. I drove a far distance, called GA many times to see what time they were closing as I rushed to get to the location while fighting traffic. With no one bothering to answer the phone at five minutes til four, I began to pull into the lot (I think there are 2-3 bldgs), someone was in massive hurry to get out of the parking lot, while another was still inside (btw, I saw your Benz by the back exit door parked near the bldg). Didnt bother to come to the front door, or even make an effort. After reading these comments, it makes it perfectly clear, they need to take a good look at their business and decide....stay in business, or have going out of business sale soon. Its a real shame....came a far distance to spend some serious cash. Ill go somewhere else where they want my business......at least the women I met from Architecture Salvage nearby were extremely helpful in helping me find this location. I could only give GA a good score, because while the employee/owner were inside, I could only get a look from the outside of the bldg. Ill have to admit, they do seem to have good quality book cases, and other furniture.....but there are always others. Went across the street to the wine store....great selection, and everyone was very cordial and had just finished a private wine tasting event. Bought 3 cases of wine to take back with me not because I was passionate about the wines, but because they eased my sufferings a bit, and brought me great customer service as soon as I walked in....regardless of what was currently going on. First impressions are always the most important. Customers have the most powerful weapon - the credit card.

Absolutely the best Antique store in the bay area and beyond.I have been a patron for over 25 years and have always been delighted with my purchases. The owners, David and Vicki are so pleasant and helpful.I stopped in yesterday and was amazed at the amount of high quality antiques they always have filled in the three showrooms..I could spend a whole day looking at all the beautiful / interesting pieces.Gaslight Antiques is a treasure in this area..most stores claim to have antiques, but Im always disapointed when I walk in and find a handful of somewhat antiques (sorry, Im not in the market for 10 or more of grandmas old sewing machines.)Gaslight is the real deal with gorgeous furniture.Great customer service with outstanding antiques in 3 huge buildings is consistant to why they have been in business for over 30 years.

When the selection looks to be altered, repainted, amazingly good, too good to be true...its fake. Trust your instinct. Floor person was rude, haughty and would not allow me to look at detail in cased items I wanted to buy, said that I would find out the details once I put down the $450 to purchase it, sight unseen, from a locked case. Very sad and pathetic attitude, friendly only to the stale reputation he imagines his shop to have, and his bank account. These people are fakers, avoid. This is 30+ years in the antique business talking, stay away.

My experience at this shop was very much the opposite of the scathing reviews we have seen for this establishment. Me and my husband went in to check out the area for ourselves, even after the aforementioned reviews. The collection was vast, and a plethora of rarities were available. Albeit a hefty price for most pieces, the amount was reasonable for the rarity. I believe the reason for the reviews stated was due to a misunderstanding. This place is very much worth the visit. Even if you dont wind up finding anything catching your eye or matching your purse, the service is definitely kind, and informant. Thank you very much for the experience.
