My little person loves this place and wants to come here when it rains. Ha. It has lots of wonderful things. Really glad to have found this place.

I can not stop talking about this place omg I love this place... like everyone feels like they love working there... and the food is good and fresh ... I love the Atmosphere just like a nice little indie grocery store... hidden gem ... go there you wont regret it ... prices are reasonable and I think they help local farmers get they produce out there. Dont hold me to that.

I really appreciate this coop! One of the better places for organic groceries in Tacoma. It is different than other coops I was a member of in that there are fewer bulk selections and not a lot of local items, especially local produce. Most is from California and Mexico. Hopefully over time they have more Tacoma rather than Seattle local offerings. Nice staff and great plants. I sometimes place bulk orders which I appreciate as well.

The Central Co-op is one of Tacomas best kept secrets. I feel like their wine selection is sneaky. What I mean is they stock killer wines from WA and the world. Staff is amazing and so helpful. I would encourage everyone to visit and see for yourself.

Neat shop: high quality and good variety if you seek meat alternatives, wine, or bulk items. Produce was a bit pricey but seems local. Co-op membership offers lots of benefits and eventually dividends to its members.

Cute place, good selection, quality organic products. I like the bulk section and the body care. Wish they had a gifts section like PCC, but I digress. Still great produce and a huge variety for a co op.

Had never been in here before. I got excited at all the specialty mushroom items they had to offer. Lots of organic, lots of health and wellness products. Loved the fresh soaps and essential oils. Lots of amazing products. Highly recommend checking it out.

Love this place. Locally sourced, ethically farmed/raised, environmentally friendly: all the virtues and values that are good for your body, the health of the environment, and the local economy. Eggs with the farmers name hand written on the carton! Bison steaks from eastern WA! Whiskey from a distillery a mile away! Veggies from small local farmers raised without pesticides. Good selection, friendly staff. And lots of bulk options to reduce your plastic/packaging waste. Your soul will thank you for shopping here. Only significant downside: it’s expensive.

Even though we do not live in Seattle, we visit frequently, and have a membership with this co-op, because it is a terrific place to shop. Nearly all produce is organic, and quality-sourced. The wine buyer knows what she/he is doing; the selection of spices is better than any other co-op I have shopped, from Bellingham to El Cerrito, CA. I am a buyer who cares about quality, and I have been very happy with the options here. There is convenient parking adjacent to the store. This holiday I ordered an heirloom turkey and all the associated dishes, and was thoroughly happy. It is my go-to place.

I love the Tacoma Central co-op. Lots of healthful organic products, lots of bulk products to cut down on packaging, helpful and friendly staff, locally sourced products, I find pretty much everything I need is stocked, seldom have to wait in line. As a member I get a quarterly 10% discount when I stock up.

Friendly and helpful employees, good quality and often locally sourced food. We notice that their salmon and beef tastes better than what we get at the bigger chain stores.

If there were a 6th star ⭐️ I’d give it. I live up in Seattle and prefer this location to the Capital Hill location. The staff are relaxed, friendly and helpful. Also, the Tacoma location’s stock of wild game meats is tremendous. Happy customer.

We come every 2 weeks from Des Moines to grocery shop where we stock up on bulk items and grab other goods like produce and vegan alternatives. Wonderful range of organic and vegan products in store! Staff is always friendly and helpful and the store is always clean and products stocked. We love the Central Co-op!

This time we went to find raw plain macadamia nuts because we couldnt find else where. But, have no desire to shop there since they posted anarcist signage. We do not support anarchy.

Upper end grocery store with top shelf produce, meat, seafood, deli and general grocery selection. Nice central location thats accessible by car, public transit, bike or on foot.

Its ok, made a quick stop for snacks and drinks. A bit pricey, but organic usually is, so?

This is a great little co-op on the north end of Tacoma. When I say little that doesnt mean a little selection. They have great brands at great prices. A wonderful source of all-natural and organic foods and other home products. My wife recently converted me to eating all-natural and using sustainable, all-natural cleaners. I wish we had the money to become members. As a side note I do like their beer selection featuring many local microbreweries.

Poorly managed. Bulk foods frequently empty despite having more in the back. Have to wait 10 minutes every time I come here to get them restocked. Otherwise store is clean and checkers are nice/helpful.

I love shopping at the Co-op! The organic produce is mostly locally sourced and reasonably priced. I love getting my bread, eggs and dairy products. I’m always surprised at how reasonable the prices are for such quality products. It’s located down the street from Point Defiance Park makes it an easy stop by on the way back from a park trip. Customer Service is outstanding.

Tried to shop here but they don’t allow mask exempt people to shop. First time I’ve been refused since the beginning of pandemic.

I love my co-op. I live right down the road from this co-op and go here all the time! I love being a member here! A lot of the prices are surprisingly really reasonable! Im always pleasantly surprised with this location because especially the specialty items like gluten free, etc. are cheaper than other more popular stores like Safeway. Support local business and check it out!

Out standing service and good people that works there

I went once to check it out since I generally like these types of stores. The only negative was that some profucts were marked on sale but I was charged for the regular price. This happened to multiple items (weird, normally I catch this sort of thing on the spot) so it added up to about $20, which is unfortunate. Other than that, it was great! Parking was awesome. Options were wonderful! There were a few items Ive never seen anywhere else and they were delicious. Staff was pretty good. Location is pretty good.

For the conspicuous consumer looking for foods and delicacies you just cant find in the major grocery stores!

Ive been waiting for this store to be open, and was happy to see that it finally was, just in time for my garden party! Its rare in Tacoma to find a place that will allow you to bring in your own jars to fill, so I stocked up on spices. Good selection, helpful cashier, with good information on some vegan products I was buying for a guest. Nice selection of produce, great bulk spices section. My handcart of groceries didnt break the bank. Ill be back again!

Compared to metropolitan market and whole foods, the co-op is tranquil!! The cheaper prices are just icing on the cake. They carry most of the organic brands and veggies we usually buy and they have a great selection of bulk foods. Love shopping here

Great co-op and place to come for healthy food. definitely a smaller store than Whole Foods but they do have some unique items you cant get elsewhere and the people are very friendly. the quality is also much higher and doesnt carry as much of the junk food that Whole Foods does.I personally liked it better than Marlenes. Just opened up and definitely worth checking out if youre into health food or just yummy stuff

Great selection for veg. During COVID, it feels like one of the safer places to shop. Not crowded and most customers are wearing masks. Usually more well-stocked than big grocers too.

So far so good... I realize it hasnt been open for very long. Decent selection. I even found some sale items. Even had a hot food section. Clean and bright. Didnt need to join the co-op in order to purchase. Looking forward to my next visit to see what else they have!

Central Co-op is wonderful! My new preferred grocery in Tacoma. Visiting from Austin TX and shopped at Central Co-op today with my neice for the first time. Beautiful seasonal produce and very well curated high quality selection of grocery, refrigerated and frozen items for all dietary needs whole foods, organic, vegan, gluten free, etc. Many unique items, like the mushroom farm kit we picked up. Hope to see tiny mushrooms before I leave. We also enjoyed coffee & gluten free chocolate peppermint brownie from cafe. Plan to return several more times during visit

Im so glad I joined the coop. They have the best selection of bulk items in North Tacoma, including fresh ground peanut and nut butters, soaps and detergents. They also have a great burrito bar thats very reasonably priced and lots of vegan/vegetarian options.

Love this little gem of a grocery store! Friendly staff, lots of wonderful bulk options including tea and herbs, fair prices for quality items. My kids love the child shopping carts. Ill definitely be coming back!

The BEST produce of any grocer in the area - all organic, with a focus on local sources. If you are trying to minimize packaging waste (especially single-use plastics), this is the place to shop! Great range of grains, nuts, flours, etc. in bulk, plus organic options on virtually every shelf item. The Co-op is a wonderful asset to the North Tacoma / Ruston neighborhoods!!

Clean, quiet, empty, friendly and fast!

EXCELLENT personal service unlike other stores like met market where you have to be a certain somebody to get good service (cough rich cough white cough) or wh foods where there’s regular bad service and attitude and stale food. The CO OP is IMMACULATELY clean, the food is fresh, tons of parking, I feel like they genuinely care about you and their store especially the nice manager. The prices are excellent. I always can’t wait to come back. I especially love the bamboo clothes and the bulk area.

I became a member on my first visit because this place has an amazing selection of plant based foods. Tacoma Boys doesnt even have a selection like theirs. So glad our friends told us about Central Co-op.

Wonderful place to shop and absolutely recommend the smoothy/juice bar. Great food choices and delicious smoothies. What else could be better?! If you havent checked this place out you owe it to yourself to go.

Not too big, can be a quick stop or regular/weekly style shopping trip. Good options for vegetarian and vegan. But interesting choices for carnivores too...rabbit, venison, and buffalo.

Great spot! Prices are a bit higher than same items at other places, like craft beers, but their meat and produce sections are awesome. We will be visiting this spot regularly, but as anyone with a budget knows, you cant get everything at one spot without paying extra! I suggest going in and making your own assesment.

This place is awesome. Staff are friendly, tons of options, and clean. They have put a lot of thought into ethical shopping with a lot of bulk foods you can fill up yourself, organic, tons of locally sourced everything (and they let you know where it’s from), they pay they’re employees a very fair wage. I became a member there and it’s already paid off in a month and a half. Support your neighborhood grocery store :)

I think the best description is a scaled down version of Whole Foods. Not a bad thing, just not what we were hoping for (which was more of a homey atmosphere/community integrated).Wins: We bought a delicious Epic Smoked Salmon Maple Bar there, and the meat department guy was fantastic, we helpful in our search for cottage bacon and even offered to bring it in the future! Local coffee (Bluebeard and Valhalla).Losses: Unfortunately the cashier was not friendly, and we didnt get that farmers market feel in the product lines. Also seemed a bit empty for some reason....not the shelves empty but just a bigger space than they could fill for the time being?I think it needs some time to develop. Well check back again in a few months!

They have a great bulk section. I love that they have bulk spices! They tell you where the produce and other items come from, so you know youre getting local. They have a small deli. I got some amazing fresh salmon.

Staff were all super friendly! Tried the Taqueria for lunch today, lots of choices for your burrito, bowl or tacos. Great value! I only ate half, saved leftovers for tomorrow.

Good selection of organic, gluten free, non GMO and vegan. Meats like lamb, buffalo, venison, wild Hawaiian antelope (good luck finding that elsewhere) mostly frozen, some fresh including lamb. Great place. Almost forgot what fresh unaltered meat taste like for a minute till this place opened nearby.

I have been hungry for a really juicy peach. You cant get those at the big chains. Stopped into the Co-op for the first time ever today and found exactly that. From a Washington grower!
