After the music store in our own city left my sons instrument sitting for weeks and failed to communicate, I did my research and drove to Empire Winds. We have been bringing his instrument for annual cleanings since, and we wont go anywhere else. You can tell they take great pride in their work and love what they do. I suspect that they see each instrument as a unique challenge, eager to make it look and work as well as possible. My son is always thrilled to see how shiny they make his baritone, and they do basic dent removal without asking. Now my younger son is starting instrument lessons, and we brought his used trumpet there for a good cleaning, with the usual wonderful result. Empire Winds does beautiful work, theyre honest about their turnaround time and any issues they notice, and I think the prices are reasonable. We were lucky to find good used instruments instead of renting, and Empire Winds helps us keep them in great working order.

Wonderful place to rent instruments for your child if your not sure they are going to continue to play. Rates for the school year are very reasonable and if you renew your rental at the end of the school year for the next year they dont charge extra for the summer. Thats a huge benefit if you want your child to continue practicing over summer vacation. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and if you need it, they do repairs on site.

Very competitive prices, especially considering it is a mom and pop shop. The workers are friendly and very knowledgeable... more so than other music stores. I have had many of my instruments fixed there and I have never had any issues. I have done many years of service at empire winds, I am a band teacher in a public school.

Had my 1968 kohlert tenor sax overhauled by Brian. After playing it for a couple weeks, I realized its better now then it ever was, better than new. Even the rolled tone holes all seat and are level. Rolled tone holes are always a problem for techs. You dont have to travel to Boston or NYC for a tech. We have one of the best here in cny!

They are very knowledgeable, knew immediately what was wrong with my flute when I brought it in and had it fixed in just a few days for about $70. When I continued to have an issue with one of the keys, I brought it back and they fixed it perfectly in under ten minutes for no additional charge.

Quick in house repairs at reasonable prices.

This is the second time I used Empires service. The first time was for a flute, the second time was for a saxaphone. Both times I recieved false information from other people. When I brought the instruments to Empire, Brian inspected the instruments and quickly identified the issues CORRECTLY. He repaired the flute so quicly i was skeptical if it was in deed fixed. Its been three years and the flute has not had any issues since. The saxophone I brought to him he looked at it, assessed what was wrong and disappeared. A few mintues later, he came running up and said leave it with me, I will take care of it. Perfect service over and over again. This place is phenomenal, and provides world class service. I hope I dont have anymore instrument malfunctions, but if I do, there is no question where I am taking them.
