Customer service was great knowledgeable drum and percussion dept. The worker in that dept helped me with all of my questions and she knew her stuff. Havent had a bad experience yet.

Dont let the exterior size fool you. The vault had quality high end instruments. Worth tje drive. Great staff.

Okay place to find music gear. I hate that you trade things in and get next to nothing and then they turn around and sell it for way more than you got from them. They do have a wide selection of guitars. The drum room always seems to be unattended. There arent many music stores left though so its kinda like.... Hey where else do I go

Came in today looking to pick up a mixer. Chris was very helpful in explaining how to use it. I ended up leaving the a new mic as well as the mixer. I really appreciated the level of customer care. The one negative thing I would say is its a little loud in there but it is a music store and it wasnt enough to take a star off my review.

Got a setup for a bass. Setup was of excellent quality, however I was originally overcharged. They did an excellent job resolving the issue. Would recommend.

Purchased my first guitar today and was not impressed. Little help and interaction. Thought I would have been better just mail ordering the item. I guess they are only interested in experienced players. I would be hard pressed to recommend them.

I had a great experience. My guitar needed a lot of work with the fretboard and I knew there were electrical issues, but I couldn’t tell what they were. Michael (the guitar shop pro) explained everything he planned to do to figure out the issues. He also went as far as explaining all of the different routes he would take depending on the issue. My guitar was finished in the exact timeframe he explained and I have had no issues since picking it up. Customer service and communication was perfect. I highly recommend Michael for any guitar repair needs you have.

I decided after years of neglected guitar playing to purchase a new (used) axe. Decided on a Squire Affinity Telecaster in sunburst. The folks inside were really helpful. They didnt try to push me into a more expensive guitar 🎸. Let me play horrible cat noises to test out the guitar. Made me feel comfortable about my purchase. You can tell these folks have music flowing through their veins.Even in a pandemic, they made the facilities clean, had good measured safety, such as keeping 6 feet apart when testing equipment. Supplying gloves and hand cleaner and masks. They clean all the surfaces including the guitars.

Ive been a GC customer for years and shopped multiple locations. I dont expect every transaction to be perfect, but this location has disappointed me enough lately that it warrants a mediocre review, two examples below.First, a simple restring. I dropped my guitar off and was told it would be ready at the end of the next day. When I returned, I was informed the tech was finishing it up and would be ready in 25 minutes. Thats about the time it takes for a restring, which to me indicates they didnt start until I came for pickup. Not a huge deal, I figured it had been busy, but no explanation or apology was given. When my guitar was returned, I found the tech didnt wipe off the body or the fretboard which was always done for me here and at other GC locations.The second issue was with a small PA speaker I purchased. The unit seemingly had an intermittent shorting issue. I called the store to ask if there was any protection feature not mentioned in the manual and was told it was likely a defective unit. I was informed by a manager that since I hadnt purchased the protection plan with the speaker it couldnt be returned even though the transaction was less than 30 days earlier. Should I just return it then as this is an intermittent problem? Well I cant Im told, because I called to ask about the unit first and now they know something is wrong with it, sometimes. My only options is for warranty service and repair which is often slow and costly.I understand there are return policies in place and delays are sometimes out of employee control. Still, Ive received better service from other GC locations and certainly other gear retailers.

The staff was not very helpful. The store was pretty junky. Its a smaller store so they have fewer options. Not a great experience which was disappointing.

I guess the selection and the prices were okay, but the sales people seemed in a hurry to get the sale made and not that interested in helping me decide on what was the best instrument for my need.

I went there Monday morning around 10:15am. I came across an 8 string Ukulele on with the sale price still on it, however the sale ended on Sunday the day before. The sale person said they could not make an exception, I wasnt going to argue the fact its a corporation, and the business would rather have my money the have inventory sit on the wall.There lost, So I just went to Sweetwater.com

What a great experience! Im newer to playing guitar and went in with a neighbor that had his guitar serviced while in search of my first guitar. I met a repair tech named Mikel Mastronardi (I took his card) who was just amazing to talk to. He was knowledgeable about their products, but tried to help me find an instrument that met my current and near future needs, and was careful not to upsell me on something I might not need nor want. In the end I fell in love with a Yamaha FGX800C that I would not have know about by searching online or talking to friends that play. Mikel was patient and answered all of my likely annoying questions (he was not annoyed one bit).The shop is pretty cool, much bigger and varied in products than I anticipated...and they price match and guarantee everything by offering a generous return policy. Ill be going back here for now on all my guitar-related purchases and maintenance!

This is an awesome place. The sales associates are very professional, competent and helpful. Robby gave a great demonstration on how to operate a control center to make and arrange music as well as assist in selection of keyboarding equipment. His lady associate was also very helpful. Rick expertly helped me select strings and and adjust them on my guitars for me. Highly recommend this place!

I took a chance and took a couple of my guitars in for a set up with the guitar Tech in the store. The guitar Tech Mike Mastronardi Took the time to listen to my concerns and was very knowledgeable. I left the guitars with him and within A-day or 2 they were both done and done well. I took to more guitars into him for not only set-ups but the premium service they offer and he did an absolutely fabulous job! I am a working professional musician with over 40 years in the business and I will not hesitate to take by guitars to Mike any time period if youre looking for a great guitar Tech Mike is your guy! I will be doing more business with him and with Guitar Center!

Has a decent collection of instruments, especially for people just starting out. The store would be infinitely better if the employees werent unprofessional and rude know-it-alls. Who ironically, dont know what theyre talking about. GO TO GORHAMS BROTHERS. Its right down the road and they are way nicer, way more respectful and actually know what they are talking about

Guitar center has many interesting things

My 14 year-old daughter won some free lessons there. She loved both of her bass guitar instructors and has continued on with her lessons. She is showing continuous improvement and enjoying the lessons. Would definately recommend for a beginner!!

Heres the simplest way I can put it:1. Ordered a guitar.2. 5+ months later, after numerous promises that it would ship soon, never received the guitar.3. I have lots of peripherals but no guitar.4. I propose that guitar center change its name to Anything-But Guitar Center.5. Will never order from them again.

Went to Guitar Center for some rentals for my wedding. While there were some communication issues; Dylan, the operations manager, worked to resolve them as best he could.The PA system worked perfectly for our DIY DJ wedding reception set up and was priced competitively.Tip: when you are booking in advanced on the phone, make sure the person picking up your items requests the correct package since they may go based on their word rather than the reservation on their calendar.

Chris and the guys do their best to make you feel welcome and get you the best price they can on whatever it is youre looking for. Great customer service great place.

My store visit was excellent, everyone most everyone is a musician of some sort. They very knowledgeable about the instrument they sale. Their price ranges from novice to pro which very reasonable.Im in the market for a mandolin and found one. The price ranger was 100 to 2800 dollars and more. Good for beginners with high interest and old professionals. They teach most instruments they sell. Go check it out and on line too.

Great for practice rooms ($10/hour) but a bit corporate for the soulful in the music creation scene.Sometimes theres good pricing available, and some wicked used gear.Staff are generally great and helpful folks.My only issues with CG stem from their central command (inflexibility on price returns or terms).

How could any musician not just love Guitar Center? Play almost any guitar, amp, keyboards etc.Have questions? Knowledgeable sales staff always have the answers.Look around, no pressure to buy anything. See the layout, easily know what and where you need to go.Prices are very competitive with online retail, but you get to take your things home without the wait.

The general staff rocked, but there was an evening manager that needs to get it together. I ordered my acoustic guitar, bass, and accessories at GC online due to getting better deals online. The store/ company needs to train this assistant manager. I was an Ops Manager for a long time and couldnt believe the response from this manager.I saw him a few days before my bad experience playing guitar instead of helping or engaging customers. This was the service GC was trying change when I worked there.The pro audio sales rep helped me, as well as the other general staff. Very disappointed with their management.

Very friendly service and they helped me pick out the perfect item for my 2 year old son which ended up being a ukulele (I was looking for a small guitar) so he could play guitar with his Daddy! They did have toddler guitars but based on the professional opinion of the guy, for someone his age, the ukulele was much cheaper and more practical. We got a small ukulele for just $99. And he loves playing it to this day (hes almost 3 now) and has never broken a string. Thats one of the main reasons he recommended the ukulele as well. It was small enough for him with thicker strings so they wouldnt break as easily or at all in my case as the toddler guitar strings.

The store was bigger than I thought it would be. They seemed to have a wide variety of merchandise. I walked in there with a couple questions about guitars but all the workers seemed busy so I just checked out some guitars and left. I will most likely return.

Great place for new and used gear. This location has good salespeople with lots of knowledge, Ive been in other locations and the service was not as good as it is here. This store has recently been remodeled and now has lesson rooms. I get all my guitar gear at this location and will soon be looking into drums for my son.

I would have given them 0 stars if that was an option because 1 is more guitars than I received.

Bought a used amp online with the understanding I could return it to any Guitar Center inside of 45 days. It stopped working within 10 minutes of being turned on. I had a brand new pair of matched vacuum tubes and installed them hoping this would remedy the problem. This is pretty common practice, your tube amp stops working, try tubes first. Users change tubes, not techs. Anyway, Syracuse refused to return the amp claiming it had been tampered with because I changed the tubes. Will go out of my way not to shop at any Guitar Center again. I regret already spending several hundreds of dollars with them this year.

Got my first guitar here. Staff let me wander around and look without breathing down my neck like a Best buy. And then did not hesitate to help me when asked.Also NO upselling or sales tactics! LOVED that!

After having a HORRIBLE experience over at Guitar Outlet in Syracuse, I gave Guitar Center a try. I went in looking for a guitar to give to my nephew. The associate was very pleasant and attentive and did not look down his nose at me because I am not a musician. He helped me find the best guitar that they had that was within my price range. It was an awesome buying experience!!

Had a great time with the long hair he reviewed a couple of my instruments and gave me his honest opinions. He plays phenomenal I dont know why hes working there 200

The selection and prices are pretty good. Staff is helpful, if somewhat aloof. I think the stereotype of the Guitar Center employee fits pretty well here. Customers are terribly predictable. Every guitar player will plug in and play Sweet Child O Mine and every drummer will do his best to impress the drummer playing the kit next to him.

My son ordered equipment that was to be shipped by ups to house. Ups claims they delivered and yet nothing arrived. Guitar Center refuses to replace. Ups refuses to do anything. Package was supposedly left at front door without a signature being obtained. Item was not cheap. Poor customer service. Very poor.

Good customer service, decency pricing and different ways to pay

Meh. The staff is too cool to wait on an old guy like me. Forget about service in the drum department. Nobody knows anything. 3 stars for selection and convenient hours.

In an effort not to purchase online I had driven 40 miles to the Guitar Center in East Syracuse. When I got there, all the staff were busy with other customers ( as they should be giving everyone indivual attention). I waited patiently to be helped, yet it seemed as though I was being skipped over. Still waiting patiently I looked around some more but couldnt really enjoy my shopping experience as the MUZAK was WAY too loud (i understand this is a music store, but I would rather hear the customers playing and testing the instruments, amps, etc) In the end, I lost my patience and left after 30 minutes of waiting. I did buy what I wanted from Paramount Music Center in Tonawanda NY, 2 1/2 hrs away from home and it was worth getting my gear elsewhere.

Everyone in store helpful sadly cant say same about the online service tho.

Guitar Center was decent. It had plently of instruments and such, but the service was sub-par. Me and my family were in the percussion section for 20 minutes, and not a single worker came to assist us. It is good, but I think that there are better places out there.

The guy named Darrel in the studio gear department started an argument and profilled me as some group he says returnes thing all the time i guess.This was my second time in 2 years returning an item without purchaseing another item.This guy was very rude and became threatening after a while even getting in my face in front of managers.I beleive he is a racist againts certain types of black people even tho he is partialy black.. This is not acceptable behavior for employees towards customers.I did not start this incident in any way..Thank you..Mr. Patrukio Mathis

Not a single left handed guitar in store, even the ones on their website are sub par or average and youll never know when youll get confirmation. 3 stars is good for their vast variety of audio equipment and selections of microphones, dj equipment, relays, pedals, software, drums, guitar custom services and helpful staff. Im shocked they dont have a good selection of picks?

Store was clean and well organized. Sales associate, *Hot Rod was very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable.

The salesman who answered my questions was very courteous, helpful and informative, even though I didnt end up buying anything.

Bought a bass at a pawn shop, but it had some stuff wrong with it. The action was really high and there was something wrong with the input jack. I took it in on Saturday to get it priced and I had it back by Tuesday. On top of the repairs, I paid for the platinum setup. It looked brand new!

Staff is friendly. Though some of my trips here can take a very long time as the staff is run thin and is often trying to take care of multiple people at once. Not there fault but knocks off a star from me.
