I got in a car wreck and took my car to John Harris for repairs. The store and lobby was clean and staff was professional. The repairs were completed 3 business days ahead of schedule and with care! The damaged parts of my vehicle now look brand new! So new, I almost thought the rim that was replaced was the wrong color, but my other rims are just obviously dirty, lol! Should I ever unfortunately end up in another accident, I know where to take my car to get the best repairs! Definitely recommend!

Blake, Brenda and Jess on the customer service side were all very friendly and helpful. They made me feel like the repair of my vehicle was of the upmost importance. The body work that was completed was very high quality and I am completely satisfied with the repairs. If I ever have to get more work done I would definitely go back to John Harris.

You will receive text updated when work is being done to your car, when the work is completed, and the time they tell you its ready. In fact my car was ready a couple hours before the scheduled pick up time. They cleaned it and had it parked all cleaned up ready to ride lol. Felt like I was buying it off the lot again. Drop my car off to get service from being hit. Once I picked my car up one of my keys was broken and the manager laughed in my face and told me I needed to take that up with the insurance company and that they didn’t broke my key. They indeed broke it because it wasn’t broken when I drop it off. I will never do business with them again and I wouldn’t suggest them to anyone!

I was rear-ended and the bumper was pretty much hanging off the back. I had to wait about 12 days for the repairs, but it looks like new now! Im happy with the work done and would highly recommend John Harris. Thank you

This was just a storage/tow job for me as my car was totaled. But the staff were fast and helpful. They answered my questions when I needed to call for an update. It stinks losing your car but they made the transition simple.

Kenny has always treated us like we are one of the family. He has always went above and beyond getting our vehicles repaired. John harris has always kept us updated as the repairs are in work and have finished early every time. My vehicle always looks brand new when they are complete. Highly recommend them for any repairs.

Issue with getting them to release my totaled car in a timely manner. It literally took 4 attempts to get my car released. My insurance and I had to have a three way call with Brenda, she claimed she never said it wasnt released until my agent said at 11:05 on Friday we called and you said it wasnt released, she responded saying Well I am very busy here. It seems they cannot manage the workload they have. My car sat there unnecessarily for several extra days, and delayed my insurance payout by a week. I recommend helping them to not be as busy by taking your business elsewhere.

I suggest any other body shop besides this one. i received my car back with extra damages such as paint splattered on my hubcap, a extra hubcap missing, a new 15 in scratch on my car, and a busted ac vent. When i asked someone from the shop about they were super defensive right off the bat and blew up at me and yelled at me after i dropped one f bomb (i really shouldnt have i know but in my case the man was cussing casually at me and i was kinda mad they put more damage on my car). any ways after first initially receiving my car i was asked questions about my deals with the insurance agency that was none of their business in all honesty, and they couldnt even clean their marker marks off my car they just smeared it around.All and all if you get sent here by someone else insurance cause they rear ended you like my case was. please please take pictures of every little thing about your car. take pictures with time stamps if possible right before you walk into the shop to turn it in.However if you have the choice of which body shop to use i suggest doing some more research and saving you some time and hassle

They truly took care of me. Customer service is a plus. I dropped my vehicle off on a Thursday morning to get fixed and they were calling me Saturday afternoon to pick it up. I loved the fact that they kept me updated via text. I highly recommend their services. Might I add they did a wonderful job on my car!!

The office personnel were outstanding. Other than that the people in the back was different. The first time I picked my vehicle up the paint did not match. There was a dent on another portion of my vehicle that was not there when I dropped it off. So they repainted tailgate which now is a lot better. The kicker is they told me that they repaired the dent as a courtesy saying it was not part of the original repair. So I would advise anyone that is getting their vehicle to really go over their property.

Great customer service, work completed on time

Took car in on a Monday at 8:45 a.m. Was called on Wednesday with update on parts needed and to be told that no additional parts were needed other than what was initially stated on estimate. Parts ordered Wednesday but didnt come in until late Thursday. I stated that car was needed by the weekend when it was dropped off due to tripto Pittsburgh for a reunion. Car was not completed on time, held over the weekend, and I never got a message that it was completed until the following Monday at 5 minutes before they closed. Needless to say, missed the reunion. When I picked up Tuesday morning, they were happy to ask for more money, also according to paperwork my insurance was still charged $1500+ AFTER my $500 was paid making the total over $2000! Original estimate was $800. Also, my insurance was still charged for removing and replacing front license plate mount. Huh? When I picked up the car the mount was on the front seat and it was the original, not a replacement. Businesses like this are the reason we all pay high premiums! Oh, one last complaint.. nobody even took the time to show me what had actually been done after all this time. I lifted my own hood and looked under at the work then asked for the mount plate to be returned to the front of the car since my insurance was still charged for it!

The body shop did a great job.

Unfortunately I did not receive the same level of communication and customer service that others did. My vehicle was not completed on the date I was told and I never received an update that it was delayed. Earlier in the week, I received a text saying that it was on track and that if there were any delays I would be called. I was never called. The online status on carwise.com said that it would be ready by 5PM that day. I was waiting all day for a status update and to hear it was finished but never was called. When I didnt hear anything, I called twice in late afternoon and was provided no help by the front desk in finding an update. I left a message with the front desk to have someone call me with an update the next day and never was called back. I had to call back at noon the next day and left another message with the front desk, and again received no call back. I called a fourth time in the mid-afternoon and was finally told that it would likely be done. I was given no explanation as to why I wasnt updated on the delay nor ever called back with a status update. Because I never received an update on the delay, I had arrangements with work on going to pick it up when it was done, as well as arrangements with the rental car to take it back that day. I had to scramble late in the day to arrange other plans since it wasnt done and had no idea when it would be.

Fantastic service from start to finish! 10/10 definitely recommend! --- Im so glad we found John Harris in Sumter for scratch fixes and trim replacement on our new (used) Kia from Carvana. After trying to shop more local (Manning area) and finding nothing up to par or willing to do insurance / warranty work, we had to branch out. A quick Google search pointed us to John Harris Body Shop for having great reviews. At our first visit, I was super impressed with the clean, organized, high-techy facility - I mean, that much is apparent before you ever set foot inside the building. Shout out to Blake, who was REALLY great working with us from the start (even amid the mask-wearing social-distancing of Covid situation). Whats better, John Harris had recently started working with Carvana (SilverRock) for insurance / warranty claims so we felt completely at ease right away, knowing we were in the right place for our Carvana warranty fixes. I LOVE that John Harris keeps you updated throughout the whole process with text messages and the online portal to get updates on the status of the repairs. Our car was finished 3 days ahead of schedule (picked up on the 5th business day), and, get this - I swear John Harris crew actually detailed the interior? It was spotless and cleaner than when I dropped it off! Needless to say, the repairs were done flawlessly - above and beyond - and we are THRILLED with the whole experience.

Sprayed clear coat on pieces of the car not involved in my repair, which went on my ceramic coating. Also didnt fully connect a attachment for my trunk in the back causing vibrations when I play music.

The front office Staff at John Harris Body Shop is friendly and attentive. They work directly with the insurance company to get the work done in a timely manner. Very pleased with the service Ive received--I highly recommend them!

I would never recommend anyone to this place. We got in an accident and needed somewhere that did mechanic work and body work. Thats why we used them. They told the insurance company it would take 10 days to fix. Two months later we got our car back. They never called us once about what was going on with the car or why it was taking so long to fix it. The only phone call we received from them was the one saying the car was ready after 2 months. They were all very friendly when we picked it up and the car looks good, but they should have called us with updates and reasons why it took so long. We even had to pay out of pocket for the rental car because the insurance company said it should have been ready in 10 days. The people at this shop just said to take it up with the insurance company. So we got in an accident that wasnt our fault and had to go 2 months without our car and pay for our own rental because it took them so long. Dont use them unless you have a back up vehicle to use.

They made my car is worse than the accident ever did, and took their sweet time in getting me my car back. And their refusal to fix what they broke is all I need to know that I will never do business with them ever again.

Both of our vehicles were damaged in the 2014 Ice Storm. Our insurance agent referred us to JH Body Shop for repair. They were able to get both of our vehicles in quickly. When we showed up for our appointments (separate times), they walked us around our vehicles so we could point out any issues(circled them with grease pencil). They were confident and competent in their instructions and opinions. Offered to arrange for a ride to rental car agency, but wed already arranged it. Theyve been fantastic about keeping in touch with us via phone & email. And I love their website! They update pictures of the repair process daily. And both times, theyve been finished early - before they said theyd be finished. Great experience!

Hit a deer while traveling for work and caved the wheel well in. They were able to get me back on the road very quickly and for a reasonable price. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Horrible service it took them 10 days to fix a minor door ding. Literally, a small door ding. They kept saying it should be done... blah blah blah. Finally I said on the 10th day you are done and I will pick up at 5:00 and I am relieving you of the job. If need be I will have another shop finish the details. Totally unacceptable. It felt like amateur hour around there. Avoid John Harris in Sumter!

My wife had got into a fender bender need less to say the work that they have done is down right disrespectful front end between the hood and grill is a small dent like it was folded up,paint is not smooth around edges just horrible.🖓🖓🖓🖓🖓🖓🖓 They should be reported to BBB.

I hit a deer in my 2015 Camaro and they had it fixed much faster than expected. However, the engine bay was filthy from the shop and should have definitely been wiped down, it had a substantial amount of dust and debris from paint and bodywork.Also one of their guys dropped something on my quarter panel just behind the drivers door. Though it is small, the paint was chipped and very noticeable so I asked them about it. The shop manager attempted to put a bit of touch up paint in the two chips before I left, but as soon as I drove home the paint had run off.I have no complaint about their attentiveness and quality of work. But I do feel that the chips in my paint should have been addressed and fixed before I got there. And now Im stuck with chipped paint.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I need some vehicle paint work done and stopped in to get a quote.

Does a very good job on your Car!

We had a little fender bender that needed fixed and was thru our insurance well when we got the car back there was black marks in our seats the size of a boot print that they attempted to clean up and our air conditioner wasnt working, why idk cause it worked with the busted bumper when we took it to them..The only reason we went there is because our insurance company guaranteed the work but come on a little professionalism would be nice ..Any USAA customers stay away go with the other body shop they recommend I wish we did.

The people are friendly, but that is the only thing I can say. I took my vehicle in for an estimate, the report they sent to the insurance company was so wrong, the only damage to my vehicle was from the accident, they sent that my vehicle had peeling and fading paint, had dings and damage to other areas, so very wrong, there are no dents, no fading or peeling paint. They even said there were stains on my seats, there is not a single stain on the seats anywhere. This has caused major problem for me with my insurance company. I even offered pictures to the insurance company, but they refuse to change it based on what was sent in by the body shop.

Too expensive

Terrible business, went to have our bumper replaced and they told us it would be 2-3 days and now its coming up to two weeks. We took it there on a Tuesday and called that Friday and they told us they have the bumper and were painting it but they were just waiting for the light, the next Tuesday we called and they said that they had just received the bumper that morning and were going to start painting it later that week. So they lied and said that they had it the week before. My husband went in to check on the car and heard two customers complaining about the finished job on their car. And to make it all worse they would not offer us a loaner car and that was our only car. We cannot rent a car anywhere else because we are under 21

Used to be my go to shop, management has changed and service is terrible. If your car is even slightly modified, they will try their hardest to not work on your vehicle. Front desk tells you one thing, management says another. Go somewhere else, no longer the shop it used to be.
