I visited Walmart Neighborhood Market today. Todays visit was my first time shopping at THIS version of Walmart. My visit was a bit surprising! I was surprised that there werent clothing, craft supplies, a vast bakery, produce, & the other amenities that are normally associated with Walmart. I guess I didnt expect the scarcity of what youd normally see & find at Walmart. Again, I was surprised! I guess thats what Neighborhood Walmart means. The store was very clean & the associates were very accommodating with the different questions I asked. I guess I went in this Walmart with blinders on. I was expecting one thing and got another. The things I didnt get caused me to venture onto the WALMART Im accustomed to. In closing, it wasnt a bad experience just a DIFFERENT experience.~ Sylvia ~

Great shopping location and not as busy as the one at Dorchester and Parsonage. This place was terrific when it was open 24hours as you could really avoid rushes, but it opens at 7 and closes at 11pm now. This location featores your standard grocery items unlike the larger walmart that features furniture, electronics and automotive, but is great as long as groceries are all you need. Extra features include coin exchange, check cashing, ice and 5 gallon water jug purchase or refills.

I cant even count how many items are marked or priced one thing yhen I get to self checkput it rings up a different price charging me something different and guess what it never works to my advantage the price yhey charge is always higher. If marked correctly I probably would of bought less. Notice this in produce most.

Surprisingly the people were very nice this evening... not what I have come to expect from the shoppers i have run into in the past. Got everything I needed and was out quickly to get back home 😉👍

5 people trying to find you a register to ring up your own groceries is ridiculous! If I wanted to ring up groceries I would be a cashier. Then having to wait for someone to verify your age for buying wine.... if I had a cashier everyone behind me could get through the line a lot quicker!

Super convenient location. Too bad theres only self check out. This used to be my go to store. I wont be returning. The line is very long. Very frustrating.

At the beginning of December, I bought about 8 gift cards from this Walmart. I mailed three of them to Georgia for relatives. A few days after Christmas, I received a call from my mother saying that there was a zero balance on the two $50 cards. The charges occurred on two separate occasions while they were sitting in an envelope on my dining room table waiting to be mailed. My mother took pics of the two cards and I wrote an email with the pics and the original receipt. I sent the information to their corporate/fraud department and they said there was fraud and there was nothing they could do. I tried twice and they wouldnt budge. So, I replaced my relatives cards with cash and said I would never shop at Walmart again. Well, I had to go pick up a prescription a few weeks after that and thought I would take one of the cards with me and see what happens. Luckily, I had the good fortune of speaking with Aniyah in customer service, Iris and the store manager, Kurt(I hope I got all their names right). They were nothing short of kind and apologetic. Kurt said they try to make things right when it comes to their customers. They went above and beyond and deserve Kudos!!! I appreciate everything they did for me. I am glad I didnt have to pay twice for Christmas presents. Now, I dont have to cut up my Walmart credit card:-).

Before my last visit, I would have given 5 stars to the store and the employees. On my last visit, I found that they switched the store to self-checkout only. I will not return. Self-checkout is fine as an option, but not as only choice. I do not understand Walmart. The one big advantage they have over Amazon is face-to-face customer interaction, and they just gave that away at this location.

This was my go-to place for groceries and necessities after moving to a neighborhood nearby last September. The place has been turned upside down within the last week and all that remains is self checkout registers and one GIGANTIC line that nearly wrapped around the store. The woman that was two spots in front of me counted THIRTY SEVEN people in the line in front of her and there were easily another ten to fifteen people in line behind me. The woman behind me waited in line for nearly half an hour to buy a single tomato. People came around the corner, saw the line, and just left their carts because it was not worth the wait. So now the employees that could have been running registers were scrambling to put products back on the shelves.... as if the aisles arent crowded enough with pallets and 2-3 workers taking up the whole aisle. At least they are working unlike the employees who are standing at the front of the store chatting and checking their phones every 2 minutes... not doing a single productive thing! Not going back here... Ill drive another 15 minutes to a different grocery store.

Give people their jobs back or simply just remove (All) registers period.

I love my little Walmart its located down the street from the supermarket but it has all I need for a quick dinner

I am not exactly sure when I applied to work at Walmart but now all they have is self check out they used to have great customer service and friendly staff. If I am being forced to work for Walmart wheres my Compensation Maybe there should be a 5% discount on your groceries if you are being forced to ring your own stuff out its fine when you have an item or 2 but when you have a grocery cart full of groceries is ridiculous to ask the customer to do so. I will not be back i will take my money somewhere else only 5 different places to choose from.

This pharmacy is ALWAYS out of my husbands medicine when its time to get them filled, and they dont autofill so hes gone from getting his prescriptions on the first of the month, till now, the 23rd because theyre consistently out of medication.Today while he tried to get his medication filled, the pharmacist asked him if he knew why he is was prescribed a certain medicine!! A medicine hes been on for over a year! Then promptly informed him they tried contacting the doctor... Completely ridiculous for a regular medicine hes been on for an extended period of time.Just go to CVS across the stress.

This store usually has the items that Im looking for. Very difficult to find someone to help you locate items. They have decreased the number of places for you to check the price on an item and they have a lot of things on the floor that arent priced. All in all a good store and it serves as purpose.

Absolute chaos. We have to ring up our own grocery while 4 Walmart workers are just chatting with each other. If you ask help to correct a mistake or ask for age verification to buy wine, its almost like asking the staff for a huge favor. Staff are unpleasant, unhappy, and not service minded.I have stopped shopping at this outlet and instead moved to another grocery chain.

Great location and self serve checkout helps out since regular check out becomes backed up during certain hours. Customer service has been very reliable multiple times in multiple departments - not just pointing and leaving you to guess where a product may be at. Produce section has some issues with rotation every now and then but overall reliable and relatively diverse for the size of the store. Stockouts have been rare but COVID19 threw a small spin on this a couple of months ago - some cleaning supplies still have limited volume purchases as well. Deli meats/cheeses are also available plus small home and health area with pharmacy, supplements, and cleaning section too. Frozen section is generous with 2 aisles.

Excellent assortment and wide variety. It is self check-out though, there are no checkouts with Clerks.

Ordered my groceries online when I got home my strawberry are moldy and my pasta noodles are not in the bag but I was charged for them.

I had looked online for a specific item and it was stated it was at this location and of course it wasnt. Also dont care for how it would be found in frozen foods as global flavors you can do better than this.

Poor service, we checked out and began loading up our groceries when we noticed that we were missing some. The cashier began to argue with us claming she put them in the bag, which we wouldnt be missing them if she did. On top, wouldnt provide any help other than saying I put it in one of those bags, and wouldnt help up in any way, Manager provided more help in one minute than this cashier in 10 minutes

Its a Walmart grocery store. Being that its Walmart and chokes out orher small businesses anywhere they go i refuse to give them the 5 stars, but they got pretty much anything grocery wise youd need. Nice employees at this store for the most part, went here all the time with no bad experiences.

I was in a hurry today and after having waited about 10 min behind someone it turned out they were gonna have to ring up the ENTIRE order again! I said oh no! Going toanother line😡 But before I could, 2 other associates swooped in and helped and got it done in less than 5 minutes! Turns out it was the cashiers first day too so it was nice to see them come and help her out plus get me thru the line fast too!! Kudos to the cashiers first day! She did a great job!!

Great location just wish they would have the items I want when Im looking for them .wish you carried the vitamin zero water in the case it would be easier than the 6 packs and singles every week .I buy the cases 2 or 3 at a time at bjs or Sams club every other month just dont like the lemonade in the cases.

Check your prescriptions before you leave the store folks. Walmart Neighborhood Market Summerville - Dorchester Rd just shorted me 5 antibiotics. The prescription says one pill twice a day for seven days a week. It also says quantity 14. They gave me nine.Went back up to the store, and they acted like it was a totally normal occurrence. Never had a good experience in this Walmart. Today topped the cake of disappointing service. Will be moving my Rxs to Walgreens.

I have seen multiple people go through the checkout line with multiple items specifically lysol and clorox wipes specifically designated one per purchase at minimum. People had 3 cans of lysol when youre only allowed 1 per person and I was denied a purchase of 2 items of clorox disinfecting wipes. Somebody needs to get their stuff together and not allow some to get more products we all need then others do.

The scan your own groceries is an awful option for us older people (at least me) have a hard time with a full cart of groceries.

It took four employees to figure out how to check out three chickens that had been discounted price wise the manager did not even know how to perform the task so it took around 20 minutes or more to just by three chickens and one gallon of milk!

If you wont spend money on cashiers, I wont shop in your store.

Do not like the new no assistance, 100 percent self checkout, while prices are low, the savings with no help is not worth the savings. Going to go somewhere else where assistance is available.

Not great on weekends, they tend to restock it seems on Sundays. But other than that, they almost always have what you need.

We are new to this area and, previously, never shopped at a Walmart grocery store.We have ALWAYS been treated kindly and in a friendly manner by all the workers!! Not one exception. Wonderful people👍🏼👍🏼As for the groceries, they have most any basic food you would need. They dont carry some of the more obscure stuff but, if you need that, there are other places you can find it. The meats are fresh and flavorful. The prices are very fair.The produce is good but, we have learned to use it soon after we purchase. This seems to be in line with any place we have shopped in SC (we are from NY where fresh corn on the cob, apples and all sorts of produce are grown in just about every back yard).They have a large variety of brands as well as thier own label. With many products, we have been very pleased with their label. With some things, name brands are worth the extra money.The parking is ample and the location is very convenient and accessible with entrances and exits on both Dorchester and Bacons Bridge.

This was my go to store until now. They removed checkout lanes as a way to force us to use self checkout. Really unfortunate for the employees there. Now the lines are even longer ugh... Guess I will be shopping elsewhere.

1 star because I cant give 0. Had major issues with grocery pickup 2 weeks in a row. When I mentioned the problems the employee tells me I should shop somewhere else. Really? Same when I called to get a refund on yet another missing item. I have had very few problems until recently, and now I have more negative experiences than positive.

The Walmart Neighborhood Market on Dorchester Road in Summerville is a good grocery store that offers a great selection at good values. The location of this store is very convenient and it easy to get in and out of quickly when you need to pick up a few items in a short amount of time. The staff here is friendly and fast to help when you need. Overall this is a good shopping experience.

Its a nice store. Its not my favorite. I am a fan of Main St. Summerville and St James.
