This dealership purchased my car from me Friday. I was promised several things by the used car manager. After I signed the papers I questioned when I would receive what was promised and was told that it was included in the purchase price of my 2017 RAV4, which is not what we agreed upon. I felt McDonough had a better reputation of being honest and standing by their promises…they do not. BUT, if you like dealing with people that doesn’t have integrity then this is the place for you.
I cannot give enough PRAISES to the Team at McDonough Toyota! I have a 2017 RAV4 that I recently had the oil changed at a big oil chain business. While traveling for work hours from home, my RAV4 started barrelling smoke out the tailpipe on interstate 64. I was terrified! I called the Team at McDonough Toyota at 3:45P.M. and they encouraged me to come on in so they could check it out. They found several errors made by the other company from the oil change. Jessica and Allen took the time to fit me in, fix the problem, and send me on my way home! They wouldnt even let me pay! I definitely meant to leave a review sooner. Walked into this place on a Saturday evening a couple hours to close and bought a vehicle that wasn’t even on the main lot ready to sell. Jeff is a fantastic salesman without being a single bit pushy or gimmicky. All the staff was friendly from the time we walked in the door until we left (after hours sorry came up from Roanoke) our vehicle came with a lifetime powertrain warranty through the dealer. I have nothing but positive to say about this dealer and hope it stays that way far into the future.

We’ve only used the service department at this dealership but we’ve always been satisfied with them. The only issue I would like for them to address is the matter of seating in the waiting room. There isn’t enough chairs, especially for those who have to bring children with them.
I would like to thank Stephanie and Tommy for scheduling and giving first class service. I brought my cousins RAV4 in because of an issue we werent sure of and Brenda in the Parts had Tommy check it out and the RAV4 needed a fuel pump. They worked together and ordered the parts and scheduled the work to be done. Thank you so much for getting the fuel pump and regulator put on in a timely manner. They took 2 hours to mount and balance 4 tires. To finish it off they left all 24 lug nuts finger tight. Good thing I double checked behind them. Manager said “she would look into it”. Good thing my wheels didn’t come off when I had my family in the car. Garbage dealer. I suppose if you are buying a new car from them 💰💰💰 they will take good care of ya

Let me clarify rating. Jeff McDaniel the salesperson deserves a five star. Highly recommend anyone see him if you want a Toyota as this is the third Prius we have bought from McDonough. However, Dustin, finance manager, totally messed up the financing. We won’t deal with him again. Steve, the owner, personally looked into it and called us to apologize. That was much appreciated.and reflected his concern for his customers.

I have wanted another truck for 10 years and had my eye on a Tacoma. I was not looking but fate forced me to look for a new car after my old Nissan was totaled in a hit and Run. My wife and I stopped in at Mcdonough and it was the best decision we made in our car buying decision. We had plenty of uninterrupted time to browse without a salesperson chasing us around when we were ready My wife went in grabbed the first free salesperson and the rest was history. The team here is wonderful I can not say enough wonderful things about the staff. This was my first brand new vehicle purchase ever and the experience was beyond perfect if there is such a thing. Can I just say WOW! Our family just recently purchased our second vehicle from McDonough Toyota. The quality of the team they have here is SUPERB. Jimmy was extremely helpful and qualified in putting me in the perfect vehicle. I absolutely love my new Jeep Cherokee and it has everything I was looking for. Working with Chris Lint and Rick Cason, his manager, is an experience I highly recommend. They turned a potentially bad buying experience into an above-average experience. My wife and I drove from Richmond after talking to Chris about a car, viewing photos sent by McDonough, and paying a deposit. After arrival, there was an unforeseen condition snag that the weather had likely obscured. Rick rushed it to a body shop to remedy the issue in no more 1 1/2 hour. They honored their word and phone/net representation of the car. I will return to McDonough and refer friends to Chris and Rick.

We had a warranty for our wheel. I will not go into specifics. We already called the insurance company and made an appointment for 10 AM. They were supposed to take pictures of the wheel and send to said insurance company. At 11:48AM they told us the wheel would be $400. They didnt take pictures or call the insurance company. So what were they doing? I dont know but they said I needed a new air filter. They only reason I take it there is to have records that they are the only company that has done work on it. I will take it to Steven Toyota from now on. Also every time I take it for service I have to get my husband to fix the air pressure in my tires. Again Im not sure what they are doing, maybe they do not either. I would give 0 stars if I could.

The service department did a terrific job of addressing a difficult issue for me in my new Tacoma. They were very professional and courteous. The service tech took care of issues (which some might find trivial) I had with my new truck and treated them as though they were just as important as any other issue might be. All of this was done in a very reasonable time too.I drove an extra 30 miles to buy my Tacoma and I get it serviced at McDonough Toyota because of the way they treated my wife when she bought her van there and because of the negative experiences I had at another Toyota dealer whos less than 10 miles from my home. I highly recommend McDonough Toyota and our sales guy Chris!UPDATE: Its been a year since I first drove off of their lot with my new truck. I have had numerous regularly scheduled maintenance visits and the service department continues to prove that my decision to drive 30 extra miles was well worth it.
They wouldnt work with me at all. Found another car identical then they one I inquired about for 300 less and they gave me 900 more on my trade in, best thing going for them is their warranties here.
Very honest dealership. Went in for service and all wheel alignment on my 2015 Rav4. They checked alignment and verified it was okay saving me $110. I appreciated them not selling me something I didn’t need.

I drive a 19 year old Toyota RAV4, and the folks who service “her” at McDonough Toyota have always done a superb job!I would highly recommend them. I always half expect to be encouraged to upgrade to a newer Toyota, but they are not that way.They tell me that I have taken good care of my Rav and she’s in such good shape, to keep it up. That kind of service leaves me feeling good about taking my car to them. When I feel it’s time, I will definitely buy a newer car from them.

After 14 years of driving the same Camry (233k miles), it was a time for my wife to look for a replacement vehicle. And after a few evenings of homework weve decided to consider an Accord and a Camry. The plan was to drive them both first, than go home and decide which vehicle we (she) like better, and then I can look around for the best deal money-wise.A few years back we had a very unpleasant and stressful car buying experience at the local (closer to home) dealership so weve decided to drive around an hour away and check the dealerships in Staunton. A friend from work recommended Mcdonough Toyota based on his experience.First stop was at the Honda dealership - they were pleasant to talk to but we did not get excited about the vehicle.We than drove to the Mcdonough Toyota and spoke with Dave Woods. Explained him our history with Toyota vehicles, as well as our initial plans (drive a few, go home, decide, shop for the deal, etc...). That didnt discourage him to show us two trim levels that would work for us, point the differences and offered us a test ride, get this.....with or without him! He trusted us with the vehicle to offer us that option. We felt appreciated. Still, decided to ask him to come with us since we were not very familiar with the area.During the test ride Dave was not intrusive, politely pointing a few details but otherwise letting us explore the vehicle and its ride. Got back to the dealership, sat inside and Dave presented us with some numbers. Yes, he was right - he really DID made us an offer that was hard to refuse. And after clarifying just a couple of details, and against our plan, weve decided to purchase the vehicle right there and then. We realised that the offer is fair, their approach very friendly and worth of our business, even unplanned.The whole process was stress-free, very pleasant and fun. Dave was knowledgeable and tactful, giving us time and space when needed....and zero pressure. None. I purchased my fair share of vehicles in my life and this is the first time that there was no pressure, no games, no gimmicks. We felt we could leave at any time and with no hard feelings, we were given enough time to think and talk it over, even offered to think about it and let them know. How often does that happen?When buying a new car nowadays, buyers are spending a lot of money. Its a commitment. So it better be fun and pleasant. And the fact is that most of the time its just the opposite. My husband and I recently purchased a new Tundra from Coach Jimmy. Jimmy was friendly, very knowledgeable, honest about the things he didnt know, never pushy, and all around an easy guy to hang around! He was patient with our questions and ever-changing minds (we looked at 4 different trucks!). He even came in on his day off to be there when we closed on the truck. The dealership let us take a truck home overnight in order to get a better feel for it, which really helped us make a decision. While we were waiting to close, other salesmen helped Jimmy change our tags and get the truck ready to go. Everyone was very friendly and you could tell the overall atmosphere was light and easy going. Lyle was our finance man. He also was very knowledgeable and straight forward without being pushy. He made closing easy with little (really no) stress. Overall, we were very impressed with the dealership and would definitely recommend others to shop there! I was completely upside down on a 10 year old car that I had purchased 4 years prior. I had been to several other dealers but with the negative equity, and low credit issues, I was left with car options I did not want. I was referred to Gary by my boss at work who has known him for along time. I called and gave him my information over the phone told him my issue with my current vehicle. I really appreciate they did everything over the phone, I have young kids and its hard to sit in a car place. He found me a car that put me in my price range a brand new 2018, with a rebate. He successfully pulled meout of the hole and got me on track. He ordered my car in from Tennessee. I got there, Gary was so nice he showed me everything in my car how it works, even hooked up my phone. Helen was the financial person I suppose, she helped us with the gap insurance and added warranty. She was absolutely wonderful as well. They also put up with my kids In the 30 min we were there. My experience was amazing and I will gladly recommend them to anyone that needs a car. Gary got me out of a Chevy cruise option only and into a suv that I needed to fit my family, and Helen helped. We bought our new Corolla here last year. A lot less pressure than many dealers. Friendly follow up. Pleased with the 2 years of free maintenance. So far our two maintenance visits have been efficient and uneventful. Easy to set an appointment on-line and the service is done in the promised time frame.Forgot to mention, if you have small children they have an ample play area with toys, books and videos to keep them entertained while you shop - especially convenient if you have to wait during a maintenance visit.

I have had my timing belts and associated parts installed by McDonough Toyota on two vehicles as well as some other repairs. What I liked was the expedient repairs and the fact I have had no issues. During these repair periods I have made some unusual requests which were accommodated without reluctance and with appreciation of my specific needs.

Great place to buy a car! Service department is tops. Free inspections for life and a lifetime engine guarantee. They werent above and beyond to find the car I wanted in the price range I set. They didnt even have it on the lot yet and as soon as it came in they called me. I will buy all my cars here from now on.
Finally fixed my problem after three weeks, three visits, and $1,000 of unnecessary repairs. everyone was really nice, but service techs were reluctant to think outside the service manuals and my experience suffered greatly due to that fact.
So far they wont answer the phone! I need a recall done and am worried about whos gonna do it? Last time i had a recall i did go to McDonough and they would not help me. So now i have another one and hope that there will be a trustworthy mechanic that does the job. I love Toyotas believe me its a great car, just hope i deal with honest people and will let you all know the outcome this time!
Let me just say, working in the automotive industry can be very stressful, ESPECIALLY in the service department. However, I am SO THANKFUL for the service team at McDonough Toyota. I am from out of state and reached my 5k service mark on my brand new RAV4. I stopped in to see if I could get my service done, and instead of turning me away for not having an appointment, they found a technician to work on my vehicle for me and get me back on the road. I can not thank them enough for their kindness and positive attitude towards me! Count on them to provide you with excellent customer service ☺️
Its been awhile since we purchased our first vehicle from Gary, but we went back for a second vehicle because the experience was so wonderful! Twice now he has gone out of his way to find us exactly what we wanted and was within our budget. We never felt rushed or pressured, and he welcomed our children as if they were his own. Hes more like a family friend than our car guy, and hell be the first person we go to when its time for our first teenager to drive.

I have used the service department at this location once or twice. They are super helpful and friendly. They also got the job done quickly. The sales and financial side is also pretty amazing. I had to drop off my car to turn it in at the end of my lease and also ask a few questions. I wasnt even in the market to get a new Toyota, but they were friendly and helped me anyway. The staff here is all around awesome.
I highly recommend this location. My husband an I had been shopping for weeks. Finally an honest car dealer, Gary was honest and friendly about everything. We told him our price range and was in a new car and driving within only an hour and a half.... also the finance guy, Dave I believe, was great with any questions and explained everything well.
We had one of the worlds worst experience with them. We worked very hard throughout the week looking forward for Saturday to bring our old Toyota Avalon for oil. The lady sitting on the service area immediately stopped us and told us she wont do it if we didnt have an appointment because she has lots of work to do. She did not even offer to set up an appointment for us. We werent expecting it to be done on the spot but she went on doing her stuff and ignored us while we stood therewe left with no choice left. Then we went amd looked at the cars we always looked at all the time because we always aspired to get a car from them. While looking at the cars people came to us and we opened up our experience to them they referred us to the guy they said was running their place. We used to refer our family and friends to them all the time. We had referred 5 or 6 people who bought cars from them. The guy who run the place kinda knew that too but all he said was we cant do anything about that. We told him we really dont have other days to take our car back there because our work schedule. Obviously we need the car to go work too he said again well thats the way it is. We were very frustrated my husband just mentioned too we didnt expected to be treated this way and told them we wanted to buy a car from them (which we do because I told him I would gift him a car) but if we cannot get our car serviced from them once we get a car then we should buy a car somewhere. The guy gave us a cold shoulder and look at us straight with an insensitive face and said that the service is different if we brought from them. Everytime we refer someone and they get a deal they thank us and saying thank you and if theres anything you need just let us know. They gave us that I dont give a damn about you attitude. The have extremely a poor way of treating the people who value them to think we always think and speak highly of them and they give you the worst customer service and attitude!!!

Really enjoyed working with Jeff McDaniel on my recent vehicle purchase. He was very helpful from the start of the process of me purchasing a Tacoma (had to order) to the end when he spent time explaining the features. Got to meet and talk with Mr. McDonough while I was waiting a minute on Jeff which was a real pleasure as well. Very good car buying experience and would highly recommend McDonough Toyota. Steve Cosby, one of the management team even provided me with a set of mud flaps for my new truck as well as providing entertainment.

I bought a new Toyota Prius in 2011 from McDonough Toyota and it was an excellent experience. Gerald Wells was excellent - extremely knowledgeable and really put me at ease during the whole process. I never once felt like I was being pushed into a deal or being taken advantage. The service department at McDonough is also wonderful. I love to use the online booking tool to see what appointments are available that work with my schedule. I highly recommend McDonough Toyota.
Went for my car inspection. I made an appointment weeks ago. Sat there for 2 hours. Then told they hadnt even started and have to go back tomorrow. If it wasnt free because I bought my car there and because I had to wait and now it is the end of the month I wouldnt even bother with them anymore. The service used to be good there but this is my second bad experience in a row.
