I live a mile away and didnt know this treasure existed! Just curious about a new coffee place I googled searched and saw The Roots. One of those places you want to keep secret!Its EVERYTHING! And there is a happy helpful vibe here!The espresso is going to break the budget because its amazing and I will want to come everyday.Their signature coffee with the honey, cardamom, cinnamon is so good!I was looking for a croissant this morning but instead I found raspberry cheesecake that was baked on top of a coffee cake! Needles to say Im not missing the croissant!There is a variety of seating! Sodas, high tables, benches tables, classic tables, and quiet nooks!Im going to have to come back and have food! The menu looks amazing theres a brisket hash brown smash sandwich!?! And cocktails and beer!

What a sweet little Oasis in another wise bland world of chain restraunts in Springfield. Very warm and open atmosphere, and a nice selection of food, desserts, and beverages. The Food was on point, freshly made, and served quickly. The staff was very helpful in suggesting food options also. Thanks Roots Coffee Bar, we will be back 🙂

This is a fun and cozy joint! I had coffee with a friend here this morning and am impressed. We got decaffs which had more crema than Ive ever seen on a coffee. It was a neat experience. Also the staff was friendly and professional. The music wasnt too loud which allowed for a chill environment conducive to studying and conversation. Ill probably be back!

Customer service is Wonderful.Sat outside, to have brunch.The wait was long, but worth the wait.Manager might consider sending someone outside just to let customer know their not forgotten.Coffee and veggie burger and fries were good.

What an absolute diamond in the rough! We made a stop in Springfield on a recent road trip, me with some rather unpleasant notions about small towns, and certainly the culinary offerings.I’ve never been happier to have been proven so wrong. The atmosphere reminded me so much of back east, I was almost homesick. It was a welcome reprieve from the fast food atmosphere of so many breakfast joints.The staff accommodated our food restrictions, and Christine made me one of the best lattes I’ve had outside of Seattle. (Try the “Roots Brews!”)All in all, we’ll be rerouting our next adventure just to make a stop in Springfield and our new favorite Midwest coffee shop!!T. Barson

Cold brew was just ok, and we waited 40 minutes for one no meat breakfast burrito. If you want to chill at a coffee shop for a few hours or have a sit down breakfast then it’s an ok place. It’s defiantly not a quick place. Front baristas also stood around and just chatted with each other a lot!

This place is a vibe, love the staff and the food and drinks are next level. Seriously best burger in Springfield. Mini donuts are ridiculously good too. Sausage breakfast burrito is a must. The Irishman drink is really really good too.

This restaurant is an absolute joy. Theres a feeling of magic in the air. Sunny makes incredible food and the front of house staff are extremely friendly and hilarious. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would.

Well, some of the employees arent too bright, and the coffee isnt great sometimes unless you ask for something better, so its kind of weird but will always pick them over Starbucks. Wifi, good. Pastries, sandwiches, good. Very nice atmosphere.

For a single breakfast item it took about 35 minutes. It seemed the cook was working hard while the 5 people up front were just standing around. Felt bad for the cook.

This place has awesome coffee and then I tired their breakfast. It is simple but hearty. I had the gravy boat and it was amazing! An awesome biscuits and gravy experience. My dining partner had the breakfast burrito and it looked really good as well. The place was very clean and the staff were very friendly.

Thought this would be my go-to coffee place but the last two times Ive been there they have been so slow and so busy visiting with their friends and only telling their friends hello when they come in the door that you seem to just be ignored... then it takes forever to get your order not happy no longer my

Excellent coffee and delicious breakfast. Be aware if you come durring a really busy time you will have to wait for your food. We came on Sunday around 10 AM and had to wait for an hour before our food came so we ended up taking it to go.

Roots is a great local shop. They have delicious breakfast items and great coffee. I have only been with my husband and kiddos but I would love to go for brunch and have their mimosas! Great place to grab a quick bite or to sit and chat for a while.

Roots Coffee Bar is a twist on your typical coffee shop because they also have a bar. You’re welcome to get just coffee, and their coffee is from some of the best roasters in the region. But they will also add in liquors and spirits to your drink if you’d like. Their food is well above average with well-rounded complex flavor combinations. I highly recommend you give Roots a try.

Best Coffee experience in Springfield Missouri! Mike and his crew always go above and beyond to make your day! The coffee is great, the food is wonderful, and most of all they all do their best to know you on a first name basis. Mike works hard to support and purchase his supplies from locally owned business in and around the Springfield area. He also helps support community involvement by participating in Ground Hog Job Shadow Days with local and surround high schools.

Staff is always friendly. They always have a smile. The food is fantastic. The drinks are great. They whole place is very cute. Do wish they had some bigger chairs. My husband is a bigger man. So the chairs arent the most comfortable for him.

We tried it out on Saturday and we really loved it! I got the smash Browns with sausage and it was delicious. My husband got the biscuits and gravy which were good. We got our daughter the yogurt and the berries in it were so fresh!! The atmosphere is relaxed and the building is large with plenty of room for our toddler to run around. We both got an iced latte and they were smooth. We will definitely be back. So glad to have a good coffee shop open on Sunday’s!! Friendly staff as well!I will add they do not have decaf espresso and no iced coffee.

This is our new favorite local place for coffee and breakfast. We love the laid back vibe, great coffee, friendly staff, and delicious food. The old-timer is our go-to, but I tried the quiche yesterday & it was amazing. Our 7 year-old loves the yogurt parfait. 👍

This is truly a comfortable coffee bar. It is not pretentious. the food is awesome coffee is delicious atmosphere is laid-back. They also do beer and alcohol. Ill have to come back and check that part out later

Fast friendly service, lots of laughter shared with the staff. Adorable venue. HUGE breakfast menu compared to most other coffee shops and the breakfast sandwich I had was really delicious. They also serve mimosas and other boozy drinks if you are more interested in that. Lunch menu looked delicious. The only downside to this place is that they close at 3.

My favorite place in Springfield! The service is great, food and drink are amazing, and the atmosphere is super chill and welcoming! They always offer specials, and the music is perfect. These folks know whats up when it comes to a simple food, great drinks, and awesome customer service! Everything is priced fairly and they have no problem helping with special orders. They also do a really good job with the music selections.

Best tator tots in town!

They had a much larger menu than I anticipated. We ordered a dirty chai and a latte. The coffee was excellent. They offer some local food favorites like biscuits and gravy. The twist is that they also serve alcohol. Bloody Marys, Irish coffees etc. Nice atmosphere, wide open space, good lighting. Definitely would recommend.

I really enjoy this place. The staff is so great, they have awesome drinks (I LOVE the unlimited drip for such a great price) and the food carries major WOW factor, for breakfast AND lunch! Excellente.

Worst Customer ServiceFirst time there. Had read good reviews but my experience was very negative. Its not rocket science how to correct an employee error and do the right thing for a guest! The girls behind the counter never bothered asking what I wanted, then got an attitude when I tried to get my coffee in a mug. Sadly nobody ever apologized- not even the owner who responded to my review with the same dose of rudeness. hard pass on this place.
