Dr. Felicia Chen is fantastic! She helped me find the right combination of lenses to compensate for my vision changes. Getting older is hard to deal with, so its great to have someone gently guide you through those changes with compassion.

The Doctor was very professional and knowledgeable. Very good experience all staff there were respectful and didnt have to wait much time.

I love the place and the people who work there. They all were so attentive and they made me feel comfortable. The Dr. Sara shows her knowledge on her career, she knows what is she doing and she answered all my questions, she gave me the attention that any person wants to receive. I will keep this location for real.

I had a great experience the staff was friendly well informed, Dr. Hernandez was very helpful. I have bad left eye and have used glasses my whole like I never new i could use contacts but thanks to her I am getting a pair. The optician was excellent and very knowledgeable. First time here and I had a great experience!!! They take VSP insurance which covered almost everything. The optometrist was very nice and helpful. She helped explain everything and also recommended things she thought would help me. The glasses I got were so pretty as well! All staff was helpful and welcoming. Definitely recommend!

The doctors were efficient and made me feel comfortable. They were very attentive to my needs and showed concern for my situation.They followed up on me to make sure i felt better and was healing properly.

Very great experience. At first the visit feels very robotic but once you speak the the optometrist things change for the better. Dr. Corona is very amicable. He takes his time to explain everything that is going on with your eyes and is in no rush. Once you are done you are taken to choose your glasses. There is an ample variety of glasses to choose from and the gentleman helping me was very kind and patient. Tried on about a dozen pairs and everyone was very helpful. Price is competitive with others but reasonable.

Everyone here is very nice and professional and I love that they have a large selection of glasses to choose from despite the location being small. We have gotten a few pairs here already and plan to keep coming back when needed.

Incredible staff, the selection has changed a bit, and now offer Safety Glasses, but a small selection upon request, they do not have a shelf. Wait time was not to bad, about 10- 15 at the most. When you place your order they typically can take about 2 weeks but sometimes its less than that.

Really liked this place got new insurance and fought to come back to this place recommended by wife and she loved it. They ask me if I’m ok to go with a different doctor and I say yea all of the doctors there are super nice. It feels like all of them are my primary care providers for my eyes. All of them are super nice and knowledgeable been going there for years and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and always willing to help me with anything I need. Great ambience!

My first visit at South Gate Optometry (December 2018) was amazing. The whole staff were very attentive of me and I was rather impressed with Dr. Pennino’s professionalism. She was very thorough and clear about my options for improving my eyesight. On top of that, she was very friendly and fun to have a conversation with!I went in for my second annual eye exam yesterday, 1/21/2021. It has been almost three years since I last went; however, South Gate Optometry’s level of care has not changed. I am still impressed with their overall service. I was attended very quickly and I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Hernandez. She was very sweet, thorough, and open to any questions I had. It felt like I was talking to a longtime friend and that’s what really stood out to me because it showed that she cared. Afterwards, I was led to their retail room to choose my new pair of glasses. I’m extremely happy with my choice of new glasses thanks to Alex! He was very kind and made me feel comfortable.

Took my son there yesterday and the lady in the front office is so nice and professional. The second lady who did the pre testing was very patient and took her time even though my son didnt really cooperate. 🤦 Dr. Corona I believe was his name was quick and friendly and made sure my sons eyes were healthy and gave him a new prescription for his glasses. I ended up buying his glasses there and the optician did a great job at explaining the lens options and made the most of our vision insurance. Excellent customer service! 🖤

The doctor that attended me on 10/20/20 was amazing she was very attentive and explained everything in detailed. She was also patient and answered any questions I had. Good old fashion customer service is rare. But I have to tell you from the time I walked in to the office of South gate optometry,I was greeted warmly, was treated professionally. The doctor went over everything with me in a process that I could understand. And the assistant that went over my options for glasses was the best! The prices are very reasonable and the selection of frames are awesome. I was very satisfied with my visit to South gate optometry. Thank you guys you’re awesome.

Staff was very welcoming and friendly, they took my temp before entering the clinic and asked about my current health. They were all very thorough with the appointment and the steps they needed to take while I was there. I unfortunately dont remember the name of the doctor I got but she was wonderful, friendly, and helped me when I said I believed that my eye sight had gotten worse. She was quick and nice about wanting to help me and she did all the test that I needed very well and explained every step and thing! She recommended I should go back every year and that is exactly what I will be doing! Great experience overall!

Rude staff. Went there for first time i thought it would be a very professional place and with nice people but not true. The lady at the front desk didnt even let me make an appointment because she said that they dont get the health insurance i had. LIES.! I obviously called my health insurance before going so they could tell me where i could go and where they would accept my insurance. So when she said that i cant i called my insurance and she rudely made me get out. My insurance was gonna call them but i obviously wasnt going to go back in there and make an appointment to get seen after her rude and unprofessional behavior. When you enter that place you get that bad vibe. Dont recommend!! At all, dont understand how they have 5 stars. Payed reviews i say.

The service here is AMAZING! Friendly staff make you feel so welcome and they really go out of their way to provide great service! The Dr is not in a rush and takes her time explaining everything. They really care about their patients.

Customer service was great! All the staff I encountered at my visit were very nice, polite, and helpful. I was pretty much the last patient there and my appointment ran a little longer than their 6 o clock closing time but my service was never rushed or felt like i was getting kicked out so they can leave. I will definitely be recommending this location to others.

Friendly and helpful staff. No long waiting. They answer all your questions and go above and beyond to help you get what you want. Its a small place so with Covid... only appointments are welcome. Only patient allowed, so leave kids with a babysitter. They have all kinds of name brand frames.. also good contact glasses... I had lasik and the place they recommended was exceptional!!

Dr. Corona is an amazing! He is patient, kind, and thorough when conducting your eye exam. He explains everything clearly and empowers patients to understand their eye health well. The staff at this site is so sweet, and I am happy I found this place!

Not sure how they have 5 stars. Must be paying people for reviews. Woman that picked up was unpleasant and was very quick to want to be off the phone with me. Not sure how a 10 minute eye exam is 109 dollars and thats the cheaper price. Have found from 50 to 140. Call a couple places before this one!

My 1st time in my 46 years visiting a vision doctor. The Dr. and his staffers are so amazingly friendly and professionals. The place is clean and social distances enforced💯👍👍. I was out within an hour. I recommend the $10.00 eye scanner if you dont want to stay there longer. 💯% recommend South Gate Optometry for you eye care.

South Gate Optometry really helped me to be able to use my insurance benefits by getting me a last minute appointment before my benefits end. Front desk is always helpful and friendly. I’ve had 3 employments this year and I keep coming back to them. Alejandro, is so knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. He has helped choose my contacts and eye glasses. He is great at it. He understood what my style I wanted and helped me get it by offering several options. I was able to find what I needed and I was out of the office less than 45 minutes. Ive been looking constantly for a new optometrist. I used to drive to downtown Los angeles and Beverly Hills because of my eye condition and there the Dr was more interested in my spending limit than helping me treat my eye condition. Well all this time the right optometrist was right in my own hometown. Thank you Dr. HERNANDEZ. Shes a great person and is on the side of health not cost. I highly recommend this little location with a big heart.

If I could I would give them 0 stars. All theyre trying to do is take more money from you. They lie and say your insurance doesnt cover for glasses and when you tell them they do. They say oh let me check. Then they say of yes it covers this much and on top of that they told my family member that they still need to pay over $300 after insurance. Do not go there. I picked this place because of the reviews and sure enough it was to good to be true. They must be one of those businesses that buy the reviews. Listen if you dont believe me when I say they can buy reviews well research it. Companys can actually do that.

Its a 45 minute drive one way to come here, but its well worth it. My husband, kids, and I have been coming here for many years. Opening at 7:00 am on Saturdays mean that appointments can be made and honored leaving the remainder of the day to other pursuits. The staff is always quick to ensure that patients get serviced and signed in right away. The doctor, Dr. Corona, was able to break down my prognosis currently and the change from two years ago. He made me feel at ease as he asked questions about what I do and my familys medical history. Will definitely be back in a year for an annual check up. Family oriented environment and a great selection of glasses.
