Easily my favorite cafe ever! Such friendly and hard working staff. They were amazing through out the pandemic. Great sandwiches, burritos and coffee! Not to mention the SCONES, which I enjoy treating myself too. My go to order is a Chipotle burrito, cold brew and a maple oat scone. Now that I don’t live close if I’m ever near by I make sure to stop in. You guys rock!

True Grounds is my favorite coffee shop Ive ever been to as a regular. Ive been going for almost the past 2 years and they are the best service, kindest staff and owner, and genuinely most enjoyable homemade baked goods, sandwiches, and espresso drinks. Not to mention, the Cafe seating is back and they have such a nice Cafe to relax in. Try the breakfast sandwiches, strong coffee, fresh baked goods - you will enjoy them. The owner is also a very down-to-earth nice guy

One of the best coffee shops around Somerville. They have awesome coffee. I recommend trying their Iced Vietnamese coffee. Their cold brew is also really good. They make delicious sandwiches and muffins too. Finally, they even sell some good coffee beans for a pretty nice price.

I almost gave 4 stars because I’m frustrated they’re not open more. 2 PM is not late enough, especially on weekends!Update: thanks for your response and laying out the reality of the situation for me. Its sad to hear; Im a big fan of True Grounds. I was speaking with another business owner in the neighborhood recently and he was sharing his difficulties as well, and together with your response here got me thinking about ways to mitigate the loss. If youre open to chatting for a little, I left my contact info with Natalie this morning. All the best.

The coffee is great, a latte always comes with plenty if espresso, the sandwiches are fresh and hand crafted and the staff are friendly and interesting.I recommend giving youself 10-15 minutes waiting time when they are slow, 15-25 minutes if they are busy. This isnt fast food, but it is good food relatively fast. I have seen them shredding the carrots for my sandwiches as they are making it. That sort of craftsmanship takes time.If you are in a rush get a drip coffee or an iced coffee and a scone. The scones are amazing.

The best local breakfast! Delightful coffee, unbelievable tasty chipotle wrap, magical pesto sandwiches. I would give it 10/5 for its food.During my week+ stay in Boston I visited most of 4.X+ cafes around that area. True grounds is one of those dependable staples for the ball square area. They have great coffee, decent food, friendly staff, and a drink rewards program that actually feels rewarding.Their food style isnt flashy but it gets the job done. I especially like their breakfast foods. If you like bacon egg and cheese sandwiches but you want to switch it up, try their bean burrito and add bacon.Ive been coming here for years and they continue to be a solid choice.

Excellent food, great coffee, be prepared to wait even if its not very busy. Coffee is fast but seems like they put every sandwich and burrito in the panini press (which is wonderful) but they only have one press. Not great for a quick stop, but grab a seat instead.

Got to be honest, this place is a refuge for the broken and hyper-sensitive. Probably why I go there (hooray for self-deprecation). The food is alright. Prices are pretty good. Some of the staff are... Irascible. The customer is definitely not always right. Stop in if you need a coffee I guess.

Run of the mill coffee shop. Food was good and in a large quantity. Coffee was coffee. Artwork was a nice touch too. Place could definitely use a face lift (or a good scrub) but they do let dogs in if you’re on the go! (Plus for me personally)

Great foods and coffees for a very friendly price. And that the price they list is the price you pay is a huuge plus for a European who strongly dislike it when they hide the taxes and add that on later.

Review №44

Im really sad that they decided to redesign their menu to eliminate more than 50% of the vegan and vegetarian options, removing tofu from their menu entirely. This was a frequently visited place, near where I live, in an area that has a strong vegan and vegetarian population. This was my go-to coffee shop, and I even went out of my way to pick up food here time to time, but I will be seeking out other alternatives more and more often.Response from owner-below- is definitely rude, considering I came here specifically to support this business today given construction. There used to be 4 things I could order, now there are 2. The disposition of staff and ownership often determines which menu items sell, FYI. But what would I know, I’m just an East Coast region restaurant consultant that has been eating here for years. good luck!

Overall the coffee, food and ambience of this coffee shop is good. However, they dont provide free internet if you are a returning customer. Over and above that, you get charged twice ($9 + $9) for the internet service if you try buying it for a day. Call it the system glitch or anything else, this is not quite expected.

Power plugs, WiFi and seating?! Hello magical dreamland coffee palace. One catch, WiFi is a bit slow. If you have Xfinity, I switched over to there WiFi and it was five times as fast.True Grounds occupies two store fronts next to each other. One space is the the counter and all that, the other side is just seating. It gets busy, but if you need to get work done - this place rocks.Coffee is solid and good food options. It is an excellent place to hang out and study or work. I have an older laptop and always need an outlet, no problem here. This place is my new go to coffee spot.
