VERY impressed with this grocery store! Extremely well organized, neat and very clean. Its obvious that employees work hard. Good variety of items, prices reasonable. Employees welcoming and friendly. Easy in and out parking. On a side note(not a criticism), store is carpeted! And its very clean. Looks great.

It was a super cute mart in a small town. I just needed some cheese we forgot to get for a camping trip and they had a decent selection. We were happy with the cheeses got which were sourced locally in the state

Impressed with this grocery store. You can tell they try to make it an upscale experience. Mostly focus on southwest based foods but that makes sense in Socorro.Last weekend I went to Walmart, but frankly like this experience better. Just wish it was larger to allow more choices.

No lines to get in here during this different time. I love that they have some organic produce, decent cheese selection and like magic a nice frozen fish selection because I like fish but don’t like it going bad. They unload your cart for you at checkout. For now masks are mandatory, so be it.

This is the best place to stop when I just need to get it real quick something before I head home for the night

Bought Thanksgiving meal..food was cold.. Stuffing was just drizzled with broth maybe.. Still hard. 1 can of corn. Cranberry sauce.. Warm cool whip.. For $60. Pretty sad.. Had to come home N make food.. N re heat what we bought.. Never again..Not worth the trouble

John Brooks has real butchers; men in butchers jackets who operate saws and knives, cutting meat. You can get a specific cut and thickness of steak, bone, or organ. Theres no competition here for that.

Nice grocery store. Usually not long lines.I dont understand $1.99 for a can of condensed soup and almost $5.00 for a medium sized coffee creamer. Usually they run out of Marlboro red shorts. Why not order more?Most things Ill buy, but not the frozen foods. They seem really expensive there.The sidewalk is usually yucky, but overall its an ok store.

Good deli for cheap hot lunch. One guy who has worked there for years is super friendly and helpful, always with a smile.Lots of veggies, can find organic food and soaps. Yummy donuts and fast service. I wish the bathroom was nicer, its kind of yukky.Some checkers sometimes lacking in friendly customer service skills. But overall a good store to visit.Oh, parking is cramped. Now that I think about it, they used to offer to take youre groceries out for you. I dont think theyve offered for me in a few years now.

The store in itself is excellent but the services in the deli are horrible and the food is nothing top brag about.

John Brooks is a great place to shop! Its local, and you will find things there that you cannot find at Walmart. Id especially recommend it if you like to eat organic/healthy. They make a point to stock good organic foods. I once got a quart of pure lemon juice there for about 7 bucks. If you like Chocolove chocolate, you can find it there as well. Basically if you are used to shopping at Whole Foods, Sprouts, or the like, you will be much more comfortable at John Brooks than Walmart. They also have a discount for New Mexico Tech students if you didnt know.

The prices are a bit high but you can find more stuff then Walmart. Never had any issues going there. Great employees

The nose goblin wasnt there (the cashier who refuses to cover his nose, and if you ask him to cover it here pulls his mask completely under his chin).

Really good little store for such a small town. Good variety and exceptional service. They even offer organic options and a nice selection of produce. Glad we found them during our stay as not many of the restaurants in town were particularly vegetarian/vegan friendly.

Limited choices for food in Socorro. Brooks had choices not available at nearby Walmart market. So items were pricy, but wide selection was good trade-off.

The only supermarket in Socorro. They have Kellys Pharmacy as well. I dont consider Walmart as an option as they are dreadful and socially corrosive in their business ethics. Pick a cashier at Brooks that is smiling and doesnt have a cold, I dont like to see a place where employees come to work sick. Also Brooks pricing is too high for such a poor town. There is not a lot of disposable income in this town. They do have some small scale health food options at rather high prices. You shouldnt have to pay more to make good choices. Thank you Lilly for the fact that they have at least some quality choices in the health food section. They do need to get some 2 year aged goat cheddar and not so much soft goat cheese. I wish I could get Papaya from somewhere other than Mexico as a lot of that food is probably routinely gamma irradiated to extend shelf life and is often picked too green. I like many of their staff, they are sincere, kind and helpful. Hey its a mom and pop kinda small place.

John Brooks may not meet everyones standard for an excellent store, but it does mine. The store is always clean and well-stocked. The meat is fresh and excellent quality. The vegetables and fruit are decent; and the bakery is SUPERB!

Great store, good prices on meat. Their baked goods are amazing and they have amazing doughnuts. Ill take them over Krispy Kreme any day. They have been kind of careless with their chocolate frosting and putting way too much lately but still better than most places. Staff are friendly and helpful and their is lots of room if you are in a wheelchair or have adaptive equipment.

While we were in the process of checking out a guy named(DC) Don Carlos was throwing our meat around. He never said hi, never said have a nice day. I definitely for now on will be shopping at Walmart from now on!!!!!

An excellent small pharmacy where the knowledgable staff searches for the best prices for medications. My only frustration is that because the operation is so small, they dont provide an online database to track my prescription status. That just means I have to be more proactive about ordering what I need when I need it. Its worth it, though, compared to the problems with the only alternative in town.

This place is great for meats, and now with a pharmacy. Its sure to be a popular place the Hot Deli isnt to bad either. Great for lunch!

John Brooks is well stocked and poorly staffed (up front). The guys who stock shelves and work in the back are better employees and seem to understand that the customer is the reason they are open.The nicest thing about Smiths was the way they trained their employees to greet customers, to offer assistance and to say Thank you .Ive avoided this store (JB)for some time now because of the poorly trained people who man the registers and spend their time complaining about their coworkers instead of waiting on the customers they are supposed to be serving. Its difficult to get a hello from them, much less any inquiry about your experience or a thank you, have a nice day when you leave.Try to save my shopping for another town since the choices are so few here.
