I’d really give 4.5 JUST because I don’t know anything about the quality of their lessons.However, i DO know about their service and string changing. To both, I’d give a 5/5. I’ve been helped by at least three of their employees and they’re all knowledgeable about what you might want.The store has a great selection of instruments and gear to choose from. |I have bought several guitars from there and a good amount of equipment. Are the prices a bit higher than average? Yes, but only by a little! If you want it cheaper and possibly different than you expected, go online. If you want it now and exactly as you see it right in front of you, go to their shop!Anyway, they’re a good quality music store. I’d recommend it to anyone. They may not have exactly what you’re looking for if you’re in the market for a UFO 12-string double-headed cymbal, but they’ve got a ton of stuff to choose from instead. 😂

The very definition of a mom and pop music store. Run by an awesome, quaint little family, this is THE place to go for your music needs. Theyre outfitted with guitars, basses, drums, microphones: everything needed to make music, including accessories like picks and strings.Highly recommend.

Jacked up prices on everything, and takes forever if you want something done to your instrument, theyre not exactly the nicest people either theyve always given me a bad attitude

Christy music is a great store for you music needs. I have been going to Christy Music since I was a little boy when I bought my first Snare drum for band. Many Sticks, drums and guitars later I still use this local music store to fill my needs and wants for music. The staff is always friendly and will help you get the music gear you need. I visit almost monthly to get drumsticks since I go through them so easily and they are reasonably priced. Thank you Christy music for being an amazing music store for our slidell community.

I visited this store a few times a little while back for guitar strings. I found their prices to high, The next visit they even went up more!!!! Id rather order from the internet. The owner also seems to have an attitude.

Christy Music was my go to place for music lessons, musical instruments, sheet music, etc., when my kids were in school. Great family owned business that is very knowledgeable about everything music. We visited their new location near Hobby Lobby and was very impressed.

Christy Music has been in Slidell for over 35 years. In all 35 plus years of service, they have always met my musical needs with a warm and welcoming attitude. Anyone who says they are overpriced obviously hasnt researched the actually retail prices of items, as all products Ive ever gotten from them were retail prices. They even sell almost all their products on a discounted price!! Very knowledgeable and great staff. Christy music will continue to be my go to music store.

Ive been to this store many times and I can vouch that the customer service is excellent and the staff are very knowledgeable--most of them have degrees in music and experience teaching it. They have a serviceman on site, the turnaround is exceptionally quick, and the work is of high quality. Slidell is lucky to have such a store just around the corner.

Just stopped by to get a 7-string set for boyfriends guitar. General atmosphere was pretty uncomfortable, none of the stock was tangible, all instruments were on walls behind shelves, strings packs were sold on a wall like cigarette boxes so you couldnt look through them comfortably for what you were searching for. He asked the associate behind the counter if there were any 7-string sets, she asked if he meant for an electric guitar, then said they had two sets (though we could clearly see three). She said they were having a BOGO deal on strings so he could select another pack-- great! Except they were way overpriced at nearly $18 per pack. Overall awkward experience for a music store.

If I could give one less star I would! Their service was atrocious. I bought my daughter a NEW flute in October of last year. They told me that it was a new flute, of course I could have bought the used flutes but the new one was only $100 more, obviously that was the better option. Now Im regretting every second of that decision! My daughter has used this flute maybe 10 times at most!! Now I bring it in because a key is messed up and they tell me that the flute was used. I try to explain to them that I bought the flute new. However, they direct me to the U on the side of the flute case, meaning it was used. I am livid! They then tell me it will cost $ 70 to fix this (might I remind you) NEW Flute! They do not take pride in their business, they do not care about the customer, they are a money hungry business, that I do not want anyone to associate with! Save your money and go elsewhere!!

Not impressed at all. Walked in with ambitions of buying a new guitar but as soon as I politely asked to demo guitars I was told that they dont want people to just play the guitars without the definite decision of buying one, basically no jamming to even try the guitars. I was completely turned off. Wasnt a comfortable experience.

Ive been going to this store for nearly eleven years. Ive known the staff for a long time and theyre always kind, knowledgeable, and always happy to help however they can. I even took lessons there years ago and They really paid off. They carry a variety of brands like Ibanez, Levi, Mooer, Ernie Ball, Dunlop, and other great brands too numerous to list. I just bought a new Mooer Ninety Orange from them and it sounds amazing. Id rate 6 stars, but this system only goes to five.

DO NOT try to get anything fixed here.... The tech is incompentent and Id say has some mental probelms.... rarely shows up for work and seems pretty unstable.... Save yourself the headache and head over to Guitar Nucules...

This shop is way overpriced and just about all of their guitar effect pedals and amps are at least 4 years outdated, some are even now discontinued. No major brands are sold here other than Seagull acoustic guitars. Just about every item is Stagg. Do not bother visiting this shop whether you are a beginner or a professional. Pass.

This is a full service music store carrying a variety of brands. Peavey, seagull, Alvarez for starters. PA, guitar, effects band and orchestra you name it

Walked in with over $12,000 in my pocket, i walked out with the same amount. Noone aaked if i needed help or anything. Guess they dont need to sell anything. Ill stick with Guitar Center.

Always the best service for me for decades. I choose to shop there before I hit the big box stores as the service is far superior. EDIT: I have read another review and I can tell you that Christy Music keeps old fashioned detailed, and handwritten receipts... and I am sure that being a used flute the receipt was marked clearly. As all my receipts have been detailed. As for damage after being used by a student... yes they do tend to put wear on them lol. I hope the other poster looks at his receipt and finds he was mistaken about being sold a used flute and changes his review to be fair and honest. I have personally used my detailed receipts for warranty work through Peavey in the past year and to prove loss to my insurance company from Katrina. I am attaching a scan from over 10 years ago so no one thinks im faking lol The paper folded back on the top of the scan is my credit card info and I blurred personal identifying info for my privacy :)

Overpriced!!!!!!! They charged me $60 to replace (2) pieces of cork on my clarinet. I paid the price cause I thought the must have changed all of the cork. When I got home I noticed they had only replaced (2) pieces. It’s a $20 job at any other place.
