We drove up from Tacoma to check out a vehicle at a car lot up the road and was highly disappointed with the vehicle and all around business. We decided to take a walk and stumbled upon this lot. I just realized the lot was closed for the business day as I am writing this review. when we walked on site Troy came out to greet us with a smile and friendly demeanor, and never once mentioned they were already closed. His customer service was outstanding. His prices are fair and reasonable. These Vehicles are maintenance to perfection for a used car lot, doing this the right way first, quality over quantity. They cater to the customers who believes in the same values. He allowed us to test drive the car and we were shocked when Troy told us he offers a 60-day vehicle warranty. Which is unheard of from a used car lot. Needless to say we purchased the car and satisfied all around. I highly recommend this business and Troy!

Troy is awesome! I bought a 2001 Toyota Corolla a year and a half ago and havent had any issues at all. Right after I bought it the lights in the dashboard went out but they did a quick fix and it was covered under my warranty. This is the place to go for a no pressure and honest sales experience. As a young female who doesnt have a lot of experience buying a car, I felt way more comfortable here compared to other dealerships. Its reassuring to know that they are AAA approved and do a lot of work to the car before selling it, whereas other places will just sell cars as is and you never know whats going to happen in the future. Would highly recommend!

Being a 23 yr old female can often be the hardest thing about going into a mechanic. While I have some background in cars, I never had to doubt the team here. From the moment I called they were so honest and willing to help. I brought my 2006 Ford Escape in for tons of work. I originally went somewhere else in Shoreline and was being ripped off. I was recommended these guys and I just want to share that recommendation. My car was originally quoted for $5,500. Upon bringing it to these guys and telling them everything that was wrong they said that was high and wanted to look at it themselves. When they did Maher was willing to not only get me an itemized list but acknowledge how expensive getting everything would be and helped me decide what was vital. Long story short, I ended up doing about $3,000 worth of work with them and even after I agreed to the work Maher advised me if I wanted to sell my vehicle it wouldnt be worth doing the work which in my opinion is so incredibly honest. Finally, they offered to fix my wiper hose complimentary and forgot since it was so small and a day after picking up my vehicle he emailed me telling me even though they forgot they owe it to me. He went out of his way to acknowledge and still offer it. I am very very happy with everything they have done and will not be taking either of my cars anywhere else. These are incredibly kind and honest mechanics and I am happy to continue being serviced with them.

My teenage son was in Washington for the summer when our engine died. After 200K+ miles it didnt owe us much, but I was worried since we didnt have any automotive connections up there. Probably the worst mechanic Ive ever used. They intentionally put a belt on backwards and the issue they repaired came back a couple of months later. Save your money and dont go here.

Came in with my front bumper hanging off pretty badly. Wasn’t sure if they could do it because it’s a Mercedes but they did a wonderful job. They only had my car for a day and half. They stuck to the quoted price so I was very happy about that. The man in the office is super kind and gave great customer service any time I called. Will definitely use them as our mechanic now.

I needed to go in and replace my thermostat and water pump. Mark was super helpful and polite, he was able to squeeze me in at quick notice. When I had told him that I was going on a road trip they went out of there way to check all of my fluids, fill them up and fill up my tires. The service was great and my car has never sounded better. I bought a car from this lot. He was really honest with me. After He sold it to me. I notice an awful noise coming from my strut. He even spent all day working on my struts. I needed my radiator fixed, called for a estimate and actual work was $225 Less than estimate. I had another estimate from Firestone and it was higher than estimate from Shoreline Family Auto.

I should preface this by saying I know little about cars, but this should still stand. The work they did do to my car was fine, but they did overcharge and try to really overcharge me for more work. They did a transmission flush on my Honda, which as it turns out you do not do on Hondas, you just drain and fill it. They charged me 200 dollars for that. They also said my left motor mount was cracked, which it was, but they wanted to charge me 1200 for it. I took it somewhere else after speaking to my uncle about it and the new auto shop charged me 250 for it. Go somewhere else.

I was pleased to be able to get our van in on short notice, as the starter had gone bad and the van had to be towed. My wife dropped off the key and interacted with the shop; they indicated it would be about $500 for parts and labor for this. My wife suggested they perform the recommended oil change service as well while it was there. Fine. When I called to pick up the van, they said the battery was testing bad in addition to the starter. Ok. So I authorized a battery swap.The good news was that the starter and labor were around $500 as estimated.But the battery...I found batteries online for $98.17, $130, even $160. I could not find an equivalently expensive battery to the one the shop put in, at $183.57. It also turns out that they pop you for installation and testing this brand-new battery for another $37.75. Of course, most auto parts stores will replace a battery for free. Its a job of less than 5 minutes. That would make the shops labor rate $453/hour. Just math.Yes, it has a 6-year full-replacement warranty, which is a very good warranty. But I would not have selected this option. To get value out of this expensive battery, I would need to hope that it fails so that I can get a free replacement in a few years. Two batteries put together might give me $183.57 worth of battery life.$220. For a battery.The oil change service was $96.52 (oil, filter, labor). This was in part due to using Mobil 1 full synthetic oil, which is a far more expensive option than I would have chosen.I would have hoped the shop at least would have tried to upsell me to these options, rather than just bypass the conversation. And maybe this is their standard practice. Either way, make sure you ask about each item before the work is done. I chose to blow off being informed and paid for it.

The only mechanic I will go to. They always will give you a good deal and usually get your car in and fix it quick. Its not the best looking shop but it is the best.

I was particularly impressed by the compassion of the man at the service desk. He went WAY out of his way to make sure a mature woman, who appeared to not have a lot of support, was ok. I am sure he will take good care of her car, they take great care of mine, but he took good care of her too.

I have had friends recommend Shoreline Family Auto Care to me many times but I have not needed auto services until recently. I noticed what I thought was a leak on my garage floor and took my car to them to be checked out. They checked it out and told me that everything looked good and that they found no leaks. I had just had an oil change and radiator flush so it was possible that there was just overflow fluid dripping on the floor….or maybe rainwater. I only post this because any mechanic who will check out your car for an hour, tell you nothing is wrong, and then charge you nothing is someone who will do right by you when there really is something wrong. Will be taking my car back there if it ever needs repairs.

So far, so good. I have been here about 15 minutes so far and they are great. Super nice. Long family/friend history of ownership and operation.

Maher is fantastic. Diagnosed an electrical short and had my little truck back up and running in minutes. Didnt charge me even though he came back to MY garage, and did it on his break. I will always take my vehicles to these guys.

This is one of the best places I’ve ever used to get my cars fixed. They listen. One time (4-5 year’s ago) I had a problem, in that one of the techs was careless in his work (nothing dangerous). When I pointed it out to management, they went out of their way to make me a happy, returning customer. What more can I ask for?

I have been coming to Family Auto Care since I bought my used PT Cruiser back in 2014 off cragislist. They have always been straight forward with what kind of repairs go with each car. Most anything fixed on a car you are paying for labor, pay for what you dont want to do yourself. I stopped doing repairs on it once I found the cost of repairs and the resell value didnt add up. My Pt cruiser had its problems but it lasted until today, a good 4 years. The head gasket blew today, I dramatically drove into the shop with steam coming out of the hood and I am happy to say, Shoreline Family auto care took good care of me and my car until the end. They were just doing oil changes at the end because I knew I was going to get a new car eventually and now eventually has happened. If you need something done, go ask Mark, they are great little shop!

My father purchased a vehicle here recently, I was not with him and have not had contact with anyone at this place. That being said, I have to write this for him because he was sold a car with many issues and this dealer did not do an adequate job at resolving them. We had another place perform an oil change & inspection, which the dealer reimbursed him for at least. But the inspection results were so bad that the repairs would cost more than the value of the vehicle itself, their words not mine. My father then returned to this dealer looking for a resolution, they kept his vehicle for repairs for almost 2 weeks saying well fix what we can. After getting the car back, there are still some serious issues present but thats all the dealer can do for him they say. Its understandable to have issues arise but its how they are resolved that speaks volumes and my father & I both feel they didnt do enough. Side note, Ive worked in the automotive industry for over 15 years, specifically in Service & Customer Care, so I have a decent idea of how things should be resolved, this was not it.

Amazing work and care put into my vehicle. Fixing an unknown problem, days of diagnostics, coming in sick on a day off to work on it. These guys really go the extra mile to do fantastic work for a reasonable price. Ill always bring my car back here! Thanks!

Took a car to sell with a salvage title that Ive had trouble finding a buyer for. Walked onto the lot frustrated and ready to defend my cars value to the death like I had been doing all day. Out comes the owner who takes a look at the information that I have, hears me out, and actually explains the process in vivid detail. He helped me understand why the value I was looking for was unrealistic and gave me tips for private party selling. Integrity and character like that will have me coming back here for anything Auto.

I hope the automotive shop is better than the car lot. These guys had me drive 4+ hours to get a car on the lot. Once I got there the test drive was a nightmare. The car died and was losing power on the freeway got back and there was smoke coming out of the engine...they said they would have a mechanic look at the car and get a hold of me later that day...they never called!!! There is no excuse if you own a shop you should have cars on the lot that are in good working condition. If you are considering buying a car off this lot DONT!!!

Sleazy salesman, made me feel like hes trying to take advantage of me. Immediately assumed my budget was low because of the car I was looking at. Just because Im wearing flip flops and looking at a specific car I like dont assume you know me! Then tried to lie to me about the car like so many other sleazy car salesmen Ive had to deal with many, many times. The young kid helping out was better salesman than the guy, who just tried to shut him up in front of me, because the kid was honest! If it wasnt for the kid I wouldnt have even taken the vehicle for a test drive. Cant bring myself to come back to a place where I was so uncomfortable. I would stay away, unless you know what youre looking for and have successful experience dealing with pushy, dishonest salesmen.

I took my car there because the tire was making a noise and the guys at family auto could not fix it and they bill me $ 70 dollars after doing nothing. What a joke. I dont know how they call them self mechanics. Ill give you a tip fa. Customers bring you car with a problem maybe fix it before giving up and billing customers for nothing. I give them negative 0ne billion stars.

I was so impressed at them when got the SUV. They took it back 2 wks after I got it even though I noticed it overheating on the wy him. Then it stopped. But got bad again. So allowed me to bring it in and it was seconds from blowing up. Maher worked on it for 3 hrs. He must have poured 4 gal of coolant into the car even though the level said ok. He finally came to me and said the cap was wrong size so the seal not created. I cringed at the bill but all charged for was the cap and 1 hr time. Amazing mechanic as I asked 3 or 4 and none guessed that!My rating took a dive when dealing with the contract and what happens if your 1 second late or heaven forbid bounce a check because your child support didnt post before they must have ran across and deposited it 1st thing or wanted to cash it. Karissa clld me asap and tacked on $25 fee plus the bounce ck fee. I said you only take checks??? I have debit card and will go threw since money posted by then. After she attempted a few times got it done and charged $3.75. Then she wants 3 mos worth of checks. Not in my contract language but whatever, so I send them. Then needs whole copy of my insur policy. I am a Domestic Abuse Victim and she knows the hell Im in now is worse than when leaving the relationship but hey not her problems but thought she would get it since single Mommy also. So she txt me at 2nd ck asking for a post dated ck for entire time of loan! Thats pushing it cmon 18 checks from a account that now has fraud on it. So bartered and snt 6 mos worth. Sadly, the same issue happened. The lady at bank reversed fees and felt terrible at the message I got this time. Words like getting Atty if want to keep car (she says all the time if i want to keep the car) going to report STOLEN, get REPO man if payment not there by Monday, and can find in couple of hours with the GPS LOCATION device! Ok those are not words that are ever ok to basically FU and everyone right we sell em then repo them and make money by reselling them cuz you did minor repairs that seem to be every month happening. New break pads but didnt do rotators so they now have grooves in new pads, then the fuel Throttle out and it uses gas like no tomorrow and revs at light or while ideling so give it gas and shoots up then down to normal. That $153, and needs tune up bad, spark plugs gapped wrong so misfiring another $200. But my $150 ck bounced so a GPS tracking device in car whole time? Have I been stalked for months? Then harassed by repo man? Report it stolen...unreal. I had my contract looked over professionally and clld my insur co. Its not ok. And for my protection I do the over the phone debit card thing but if insists I drive all the way out there (Msvl to Shoreline) that it be a money order and done in public and get a receipt. She claimed was the 3rd time. In contract says 2 missed payments as in 2 not paying at all. Neither happened. But if your a guy can back her down I am sure. But now because she said that whole stalking via GPS, report stolen to a DV court documented plus court reported counselor they said to contact AG.They were awesome and still think they are but just pay your payment and ask at time of sale is there any tracking devices installed in car? It must be included in contract or illegal.I would still go to them as their auto dept excellent and Karissa honest about what she personally knew about each car and they did me HUGE favor. And bottom line I owe them THIS mos payment. I with had the money to pay em off really the tactics of collections would be better by not stressing out the customer whos praying repo man not on way now.....I see a Jetta that would be perfect for my son but cash only and have a mechanic or someone who really knows cars drive it cuz stuff will pop up every mo if not noticed right there. But if not for the DV scare I would give em a 5 star. Just know what your getting into. But also know they are trusting you with their money and you wouldnt be there if had better credit!

ABSOLUTELY NOT! They helped me with everything until the car was in great working order. I couldnt recommend them more, I would without a doubt buy another vehicle from Terry and his team.
