Love JOANN FABRIC! I especially appreciate that they still offer amazing coupons while other simular stores have discontinued theirs.Their stores have a wide variety of fabrics and crafts, and as I am an avid crocheter, Im so glad that they carry a huge selection of name brand yarns/threads as well as their name brand-which I really like as well.👍Currently looking for upholstery fabric-so many choices and sales! 😊

Don’t join their email list- they are relentless, send multiple emails a day and nobody will help when you call customer service multiple times. Any other craft store is a better choice and cares about customer service. They also will not remove your email or phone as they outsource your information and say it takes 2-4 weeks to remove.

I usually find all my little hobbies and crafts I need in the fabric store. To be sure you have a coupon for your items and you can download their app so you have them on hand every time you shop.

This is the third time this year Ive gone into Jo-Anns Fabrics Ive asked for help from one of the clerks and not received any help. This time I walked up to the counter quote (Im disabled so it takes a minute to walk there) I asked Isabella who was the cashier to call for somebody to help me. There was nobody in line nobody at the registers I walked all the way back to the beads good there for a while. As I got frustrated and was leaving at the end of the aisle I look left and to Iowa over is the manager stocking shelves. I asked the manager if there was ever a call for assistance in the beads and she said no. Personally I know theres got to be a different Jo-Anns in the Kansas City metro. Its worth the drive for me to get good service.

Always have a lot of stuff. Usually NOT what I want or need. Due to specialty items I require. HOWEVER, today I was pleasantly surprised! I need some stretch lace to finish an edging. They had it and it was on sale!!! Plus I got military discount too.

1st shopping stop in a long time. People were distanced and masked. Lovely inventory, helpful staff as always.Update: Not well staffed, some skimpy inventory. Still better than the competitor who isnt open on Sunday.

Store is a little shabby looking but well organized with good supplies.

I am trying to become a better cake and cookie decorator and they had a very nice selection of baking, candy making and decorating supplies. Customer service was excellent and I also had placed an online order early on a Sunday morning and it was ready before noon and they didnt open until 10 am. They also have a massive amount of craft and home decorating items.

Only buy on sale, but great selection for any arts/crafts needs.

They have a large abundance of things. Go in and explore the possibilities for being your own creator.

I use JoAnns all the time. Theyre great. Only 4 stars because of coupon shenanigans. The ap doesnt always work correctly and I have wanted to order for store pick up, but the ap said delivery only even when there was product in stock at the store. Just weird stuff all the time. Shopping in person is almost always great though.

Always find something new for crafts. Would give it a 5/5 if they had: 100% content of real linen or wool bolts of fabric and wool thread. They also got rid of the vintage patterns and wool yarn I wanted to buy.

So theyve got these furry mini trees that my friend says are gnome hats and gross but theyre totally trees and soft like kitten fur and I love them, thanks Joanns, you all rock!

I think they must have remodeled this store in the last few years. I remember it being smaller and not having such a wide variety of stuff. They definitely have more sewing and fabric stuff than Michaels, in my opinion, but they also have a lot of the same stuff Michaels does (like decor and such).Its laid out a little weird, in my opinion, but an employee was able to direct me to what I needed. 🧵

Best general craft store in the area, for sure. I really wish we had one in Wyandotte county, but this isnt too terribly far. four stars instead of five because I wish they carried more natural fiber yarn.

Great selection of fabrics and such, if that is your jam. While I abhor fabric stores and have horrible memories of being bored out of my mind in them as a child, I must put these personal issues aside and give a rating that accurately reflects the service and quality of the store. This location had outstanding customer service, stocked with fabric for days and yarn for weeks. While this is the only store I dislike more than Hobby Lobby, I will bury the pain and select all 5 stars. May the good Lord help me to never set foot in a fabric store again. Amen and amen.

Its kinda hard for me to get their because its so far away. But when I do I spend at least $100.00 each time.

Each Joann is a little different from every other. They all are populated mostly by a staff of crafty types, of individuals who celebrate their love of designing, making, mending, using their hands, and can appreciate my desire for the same. I like my local Joann, the one near Merriam, more than most. Theyve got a special blend that quite amenable to me and my crafty habits. They understand.

Good selection. Can be slow to get fabric cut or rang out when they are busy and dont have enough people working.

Great service, a little bare stock wise but it is two days before Christmas.Framing department was helpful and friendly.

I was way out of my element. Needed to mend an outdoor awning. Never been in a JoAnnes before. Went to a young cashier who sent me on to someone older at the cutting table that sent me on to the outdoor fabric and thread. I found what I needed and got out of there with the proper needles and my male ego intact. The sales staff and other customers were very kind and helpful.

Store manager has been super rude to me twice now. First time I came looking for a sewing machine that it said they had in stock from their online website. They didnt and when I asked him about it he cursed at me multiple times. Second time just a few minutes ago I ordered elastic for curbside pickup. He came out and told me sorry they have 0 elastic none what so ever in stock. I parked the car and went in. I asked where it would normally be. He saidI told you we dont have any! I said just humor me he told me where. I came back to the checkout with a handful of it. His breathing was so ruff and intense I thought he was going to pass out or attack me. His employees apologized for him. Not cool bro.

Terrible leatherworking section, you would be lucky to find what you are looking for.

Every time I visit this store I get more ideas for crafts I want to do. I guess that is the idea. Better and deeper selections than at most craft stores in the area.

Great selection of cotton fabrics when mist other Joanns are running short supplies. First place i found Chiefs cotton fabric in 3 months. Staff was very limited, but nice and helpful. Fabric cutters were very knowledgeable about sewing too.

Went in to find some Christmas buttons and found Santa ones. Great! Perfect finish for my crochet christmas tea towels. 🎅🎅

Misleading customers.. They have most items on a sale price o cannot use their coupon. Misleading advertisements to get customers into store. Went to store to buy fabric to use 50% off coupon. Cloth rang up as on sale with 15% off. I asked not to use 15% off so could use the coupon. The store will not allow that.

The shop is well lit and organized not to mention frequently cleaned. They have a variety of craft supplies and toys, especially Legos and Ty Beanie products. However, the biggest draw is obviously their fabric.The location has a sizable variety of colors, patterns, and material types to choose from. They have several (socially distanced) cutting stations and the staff that work them are both polite and informed, not to mention entertaining.

I was pleasantly surprised that they carry Kona solid quilt fabric. Aside from that I go to buy large spools of thread.Most everything else is not exceptional.

The fabric sale is a good one. I found just the fabric I needed. If you need fabric its a good time to go and get it.

The Shawnee JoAnns is much cleaner than the one on Metcalf. The selection was good and customer service was good.

I have yet to find a coupon that they honor. Today I had a 20% off all regular and sale-priced items coupon that they sent me for downloading their app, and it took 77 cents off of $60 worth of merchandise. And I was told nobody in the store can change it, you are at the mercy of the system. If you shop with coupons here, buyer beware. Reminds me of CVS with coupons that never work.

This store gets me in trouble! Lol I almost always buy something that was not the original reason I went shopping there. Love this store and the coupons. I do wish they had a bigger selection.

Had a hard time finding an item we saw online as there werent any employees available to help. The lighting in the store made my husband get dizzy, which is a problem with some stores we visit.

Curb side pick up service was easy to use. I will definitely use this service again.

My daughter and I went in this evening to buy patriotic fabric to make a mask. The woman who cut my fabric rudely told me to get back behind the line where the next customer should be waiting. I was at least 12 feet from her after doing this. Then I watched as she helped next customer who stood right at the counter, she even struck up conversation with her. If I was to guess, I would say I was treated poorly because of my choice of patriotic fabric. Very sad.

Do not use the curbside pick up option for Joannes. It takes days to fill the order and then they dont have the staff to answer the phone when you get there to pick it up. And if you have to exchange anything they refund you the discounted price (20%off online only) and you do not get the same discount in the store. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼For having a recording that says online orders take days to fill. No disrespect to the staff, I am sure they are doing the best they can.

Been here twice and the first time was wonderful. Very neat and organized fabric area. (I prefer this place since the one in Kansas city was very disorganized) anyways, second time i came here, i was looking for a specific fabric and asked the lady who was putting back fabrics bolts where they belong, where i could find the fabric i needed. She just pointed at the area and then gave me her back. Pretty rude, i was disappointed i did not find what i needed.

Joann is a good place for sewing supplies, paper projects and home decorating. They have a pretty good selection of upholstery fabrics and supplies.

When they cancel my first order I was really disappointed. I decided to give them a second chance and that order got cancelled 2, if they can fulfill their orders they shouldnt even give us the curbside pickup option. I hope no one else is dealing with this kind of problem, its just really frustrating.

The employees at this store seem to go out of their way to ignore you. The check out lines are enormous, and trying avoid them by doing curbside pickup is impossible when the store lists almost nothing as available to pick up. There are huge gaps in inventory, they had almost nothing we needed. I was told they were out of stock on thread and bobbins. Uhm, Im sorry but how can you call yourself a fabric and craft store with no white thread or bobbins...? All around frustrating experience.

Sooooo disappointed. I bought a mask from our local Store and it was so huge it was falling off my face. They would not let me return it. C’mon Joann’s! Stand behind your products! It was bout by Joann’s from China anyway. Not giving them my business any more!

The sale they had over labor day was awesome. They accept competitors coupons and the location is well stocked. Joann is the store I went to with my grandma as a kid and it is every bit as awesome as an adult as when I was a kid.

Not much has changed over the years. Everything in the same spots. Makes it easy to find things again having had a lengthy amount of time pass between visits. Staff was relatively helpful in brainstorming ideas for a project. Joanns new digital app saved quite a bit of $ on our purchase. A huge variety of yarn was a definite plus.

Great store to get ideas and crafts from. I run into the occasional grumpy old lady, but its usually an store associate. But Im still giving 5 stars because there is a lot of options here and great coupons. Atmosphere is creative and I enjoy shopping.
