Store was nice and a good selection of items. However everything is individually priced, for example the doll came with no clothes, and that runs up the total fast.
Called before I came too the store, was looking to sell these beautiful Antique Porcelain dolls in great shape looks old, Women of the store didn’t take one look at the dolls before she told me they we’re not valuable didn’t check or look anything up or even made a phone call & sent me on my way, I felt racially profiled, I’m sure she is thinking how did a black women such as my self come across some beautiful dolls like these, probably stolen. That’s the vibe I got, she was not helpful in any kind of way,
The owner/clerk is obviously interested in having only a certain kind of clientele, a weird thing because the store mostly carries cheap dresses that can be bought on eBay for 4$ each.I went repeatedly and was treated differently depending on whether I wore a nice dress or jeans and a tee shirt. When I was in jeans the woman who was running the shop was openly hostile towards me.They charge in (super dishonest) ways that no other doll repair person does. For instance, to be allowed to buy a 20$ wig I would have had to let them remove and keep my (worth much more than 20$!) AG wig and they would keep my doll for days to apply the new wig.If you go on FB Market Place you can find kind a lot of people who will do repairs like eye swaps, deodorising, stain removal, etc. You can also find a lot of people in KC who make and sell doll clothes and unlike what this store sells, they’re neither poor quality nor overpriced.
We paid 50 for an arm to be reattached and it just fell off maybe a week or two later
This place was awesome. My daughters doll had some issues and had to go see the doctor and have some surgery. They were able to do a same day turn around and my kid got her dolly back within 2 hours. Hey doll is 30+ years old and weve never seen another like it ( its the size of an 18 month old) and they had one. My kid is super happy to have her doll back.
I paid for 2 doll repairs and cleanup, they made me pay when I dropped them off. After 7 months of calling to see if they were done I went and picked up the dolls because nothing had been done and I was worried I wouldnt get them back. They didnt refund my money. So I guess I paid for 7 months of doll babysitting. They are real snotty on the phone and in person too. Buyer beware Dont pay upfront and dont think youre going to get properly repaired and cleaned up dolls. So disappointed.
Hi the Owner was very nice, caring knowledgeable in her business!! Great place to go to about all kinda Dolls.
Helpful owner. We were looking to sell a couple of antique dolls. The owner gave us helpful information concerning the history of the dolls. Although she didnt buy them she was very warm and knowledgeable.
Love the Doll Cradle! They have the best dolls, best sales, and theyre very helpful. New, vintage and antique dolls and tons of clothes. Theres a doll hospital as well.
I recently purchased a doll and several outfits for my granddaughter for her birthday, as she indicated that she would like a baby doll. Upon advising my daughter-in-law of my purchase I was informed that she too purchased a baby doll as a birthday present. Therefore, I returned to your store the return the doll that I had purchased only to be advised that this would not be an option and all sales were final, no refunds, no exchanges, no store credits. SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I was instructed to look at the sign by the cash register stating all sales final and advised that this was also indicated on my receipt. Well the previous Saturday after shopping in your establishment for approximately one hour and spending about $150.00, I must admit I never saw the all sales final sign. Further, I dont know of any stores that have all sales final on regular priced merchandise, and particularly when you possess your receipt. I was not unable to even obtain a store credit to use at a later date! That is absolutely ludicrous, especially when a customer has their receipt from their purchase from only one week earlier.I have purchased merchandise in your store for several years and have never had an occasion to request a return. However, now that I am aware of your policy, I will take my business to a store that is more interested in keeping their clientele satisfied, than just taking their dollar an running!
The store was nice. It had many good products. The employee was friendly and helpful.
This place got my order for restuffing a bear done in time for Christmas and did a stellar job. I didnt mind paying a few extra bucks to expedite.I was a bit worried with some of the other reviews but was impressed with their work and their price was competitive.
They have a lot of unique items for kids of all ages and adults a lot of antiques as well . also they have a lot of craft items things like that anything you could possibly think of and everything is like half the price you paid a normal store and its all brand new except for some of the very old dolls so I give it 5 Stars my name is KC Pittman and wish me luck because I have applied for a job there . in the people who works there are awesome and sweet and very helping you couldnt ask for a better staff in the owner shes pretty course if she got in a motorcycle accident recently so please pray for her to get better as soon as possible 😘
Called to inquire about restoring a doll after a fire and advising older lady on the phone my mom tried to soak doll in vinegar, the lady was rude and said “well your not supposed to do home remedies but I guess you can bring it in” well I GUESS I’ll take my business to someone who isn’t rude and incesitive over the phone to a prospective customer.
Fantastic customer serviceThe Doll Doctor is thoughtful and talentedHighly recommend!!!
One is amazed each time we walk through the door because they have so many dolls, clothing, accessories and other beautiful items.
Do not iuse this place for doll repair. They know NOTHING about repairs and the owner is very nasty. They glued a vintage barbie doll head on the doll now it does not turn. Mind you it was sent for a HEAD KNOB REPAIR.
I took a 1940s doll of my mothers in to get a new body and was told it would be three months. It ended up being well over a year. During follow-up phone calls they told me the time was partially due to finding the right vintage body parts to replace the broken ones. When I finally asked at 14 months that they fix and return the doll by Christmas, I got my vintage doll head attached to a used American Girl Bitty Baby body for three times what a new bitty baby costs. I could have done that myself with a used bitty baby for a tenth of the price. The proportions of head to body were all wrong as well as the overall vintage look, obviously. My daughter owns two bitty babies, so I double checked the fixed doll against them in great detail to make 100% sure I was correct that this is what they had done before posting this review.
Leslie was such a great help! Very knowledgeable & very professional.
Lots and lots of dolls of all kinds very nice helpful people
Fixed a Christmas santa fast
I went in to get a wig for a doll I had recently been given. Very impressed with their ethics as well as the service.
I have been shopping at The Doll Cradle for over 30 years. I love walking around and seeing all the many different things that fill the shop.
