Great little place, very friendly and relaxed vibes. If you like vintage pinball then this place is for you. IfYou need to pick up some extra dice for your next tabletop session these guys have βem.Good coffee, vegan and gluten-free cookies on the counter. Open late on a weekday which is a rarity.Bring some friends and get a free game rental when you buy some beers.Wish Portland still had places like this, support it and keep it alive. π€
Okay, real talk. This place is small, their selection is poor, and, at least when I came, it was hella crowded. This alone wouldnt warrant a low score, its the food and drinks that take thus honour.$4 dollar hotdog (pictured), really bad coffee (in Seattle, really?), and slow AF Service from a dude who didnt appear to he doing much is what got me.The decor is nice and I live for those pin ball rigs, but it isnt enough to save my feelings about this place. Other places in the metro area have great food, drinks, whatever, so they have no excuse.
What a great place to go play games with friends while having some drinks! Or show up without knowing anyone (like I did) for one of their community nights. I was so excited to find people playing Food Chain Magnate, one of my favorite games. Great way to meet new people with similar interests. The name has changed to Ray Gun Lounge.
I came expecting a lot more from earlier reviews. There were about a dozen role-playing books on a tiny shelf that suggests they never really stock much more. Board games were better stocked. The store also sold beverages, most surprisingly also alcohol? The best about it would be the collection of vintage pinball machines but i guess at the local pinball museum you get a better deal on that?Overall not a good impression except the person working the counter seemed nice enough.
While I enjoyed my visit to the game shop and bar, but I doubt I would go again. Nothing I found in the store was something I couldnβt get from a gathering at my own place. The games they had available to borrow were extremely limited and food options were scarce. The drinks menu was very small and they only had two non-alcoholic options. It might be a good meeting place for some, but I am just as happy in my own home.
Well maintained pinball machines line the wall, with a friendly staff and open seating for board games. Theres always a VHS movie in (usually Dune) and plenty of drink options. Great for hanging out, but not dinner.
Awesome place to hang out, play video/board games, and meet other local nerds :) Always full of friendly people, and the staff is great.
As a geek, I loved it! There were large gaming tables where you could sit and play a game you brought or one youd just bought there. They have drinks and snacks that you can order, although theyre not inexpensive. They have pinball machines, which made my husband extremely happy, while I had a blast on Ms Pacman. And the customer service was great.
You can always find friendly people working and gathering here. They do a great job with their limited space. Eric and his crew never let me down with recommendations.
Gamma Ray Games is an excellent store! I was unable to enter the shop because I am in a wheelchair and there are a couple of stairs to get in, but an employee came out to answer questions and bring products out to see within seconds. I was trying to buy a chess set and they didnt have one in the shop in my price range so they ordered one for me. Within a few days I had an email from them describing a couple of great sets they now had for me to choose from. Throughout my purchase I was impressed with this stores friendly and helpful service and would recommend it to anyone.
A cute little bar / game store. The drinks were good. Their cider is very sweet, almost soda, but I still liked it.You can borrow games for free if you buy a drink.
I go here for Modern Magic Night on Wednesdays and its always super relaxed and fun. The staff is great, as is the atmosphere. So, its a great place to chill and play games when youre not in the mood for competitive play.
Nice atmosphere and good service! A small food menu and snacks as well as beer are available. There are games you can borrow and also some to buy. They have monitors on the walls that play fun SCIFI and fantasy movies with the sound off(e.g. Dune, Blade, etc) as well as a wall of pinball games. To use a table for gaming requires the table order a minimum of $20 which is really really cheap considering you can stay quite a while.I dont know how they stay in business with this model but Im really glad theyre there. I hope they stick around because its nice to have a place to go on the Hill that isnt a loud bar or show space.
You can play all sorts of board games for free, arcade games, food, and drinks. Good hang out spot. Id recommend checking out the calendar as they have weekly events that are super cool
Absolutely great place! Super chill atmosphere and an all around great place to hangout and game with friends. 10/10!
THE D&D ACTION GAME IN HERE IS AWESOME AND HILARIOUS AND I SHOWED IT TO MY GROUP HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Really cool, old school place, didnt have the selection of unpainted minis *i wanted*, but still had some, and some really nice hand painted ones, plus old school pin ball machines! I did pick up a nice Beholder and the clerk was very polite!
On first glance, the place seemed legit - lots of games, plenty of seating, everything one would expect of such an establishment. But as the night went on - the arcade games, the lights, the garish decor - it all just started to get to me. That, and they do seem a bit overpriced. Not my kind of gamer bar. Dont think Ill be back.
The shop looks great: plenty of space, great decoration and really nice industrial interior. Eric Logan was attentive and funny and we left the shop with a big smile on our faces. If we get back to Seattle we will definitely visit his shop again.
Great place to get a snack and play a few games. Game selection good. Staff knowledgeable and nice.
Great game and beer selection. Helpful staff.
Raygun is on the social end of the game shop spectrum with most of the space dedicated to long community tables. Mixing table top gaming with an arcade atmosphere is something Im into and havent seen done before. DM snuffed your PC? Hit the pinball! They dont have an in depth offering of purchasable game equipment but theyve got your basics: dice loose/sets, magic cards and land station, playmats, and a single bookshelf of greatest hits style games. Protip... If youre picking up dice youre likely to get hooked up with an upcycled Crown Royal dice bag π€£ the benefits of being a bar and game haunt!
I really want to like it I have tried to go to it multiple times but they seem to not maintain the listed hours and I have wasted multiple trips trying to go to the store and it has pretty much led to me and my group disliking it. The one time I managed to hit the store open it was small but nice and had some of the stuff I was looking for and surprisingly they sold miniatures for a game I play used which I am fine with and picked one or two up.
Vibe was good for casual boardgames lovers. Although its more of a social spot than a full fledged store. I was hoping for some good deals on MTG products, but its above average price.
The current incarnation of this space is relaxed, chill, and has a fun vibe. Play traditional arcade games, or use the giant tables to game or hang with friends. Looking forward to coming in weekly for a writers group that meets in the space.
Friendly and helpful staff. Home of the best game community in the city. Limited but excellent selection of products.
Good place to play tabletop games. Great atmosphere and good group of people
This is my favorite gaming store is Seattle. The owners are awesome. 5 stars are not enough.
This place is awesome. The owner helped me and my girlfriend pick out a boardgame and we are having a blast! Definitely check this place out, we plan on going back for Hearthstone and to get our ass kicked at catan!
Mix of board games and a cafe. You can get lunch here, and checkout a board game to play while you do. They also have beer.
Really cool gaming Lounge, kind of in a bit of a sketchy part of town, but really friendly staff, a wide variety of games both to rent and buy!
Awesome place!! Great service from really nice people
Such a fun spot - perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon!!
Good store all around, have bought multiple games here and see myself returning more in the future. Staff is polite and helpful.
Great selection of games. Ideal to grab some wifi, enjoy some hearthstone, and grab a beer. Food is ok but they take requests.
Looked like a cool place i guess but donβt advertise yourself as an rpg store if you just have a dozen dnd books, a few pathfinder sourcebooks, and a few indie rpgs
This place is the best, everytime I go in I get the help and suggestions I need. Highly recommended!!
A fun and easy going place, its worth checking out for games, geekery and fun for everyone! Check out their weekly magic the gathering events or dungeons and dragons!
Good people! Great atmosphere
Great spot to kick it, play and drink!
A great game cafe, with a good library of games to rent and food and beverages for sale.
Cool little loungy place, but their game selection is small. Seems like it tries to be some kind of board/card game bar, but it falls short of both.
Service was very good, but the selection was a little modest.
A cool little bar/ games shop
Great space, bit too crowded. Wish it had more table space.
Cold beer, great games, and super friendly service!
Not impressed with the card selection or hospitability.
Helpful store attendant. Limited stock.
Small store. They have some games but not as many of some of the other game places in Seattle
Cool game space with drinks and snacks
Warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly people!
Amazing folks. Amazing place.
Full of games, fun, good people, and activity.
Good food, good drink, good games, good times!
Good games, good people, good drinks
Hope u guys can sell vanguard cards :(
They have pinball machines!
Very small selection.
