Woke up on a weekend, thought to myself I need an adventure. Let me tell you if I lived around this place like in the neighborhood I would for fact be here every other day. THIS PLACE MADE POP TARTS, and it was delicious. The cafe had many household essentials like beer, ice cream, and dinner items. Staff super friendly, made great coffee.
Lovely little shop that is partly cafe, partly grocery shop, and partly gift shop. On one side of the store, there is a nice beer and wine selection, on the other, you got a full bookcase of cute little things you can get as gifts or for yourself, how fun is that!As for the cafe, they have coffee, of course, using their own beans; some baked goods from Macrina and Honest Biscuits (the biscuit is big!), as well as some wrapped breakfast. The girl working the weekend morning shift was very personable and helpful, her energy definitely brightens my day. Oh, and pretty cool playlist too!
While searching for a great espresso we came across Seven Coffee in the U District. Friendly staff, good espresso but not what we are looking for. Worth trying out.
Very good drip coffee, definitely the best in the U District. Kind of a cross between a cafe and a corner store. Good pastries, but usually theyre gone by noonish. Friendly staff. Parking out front is 30 min limit, so its easy to stop by and grab a coffee if youre driving by. Customers are mostly locals, not a student hot spot.
This is a fantastic cafe for fresh coffee and some quick grab-to-go breakfast. I love the locally owned small business and the friendly staff at the counter. They have a small selection of coffee but its possibly their own roasting process or something that makes the coffee so good! Give it a try if you love coffee and want to buy from unique local businesses!
Great neighborhood coffee spot. Perfect location for walking around and enjoying a drink. Also love buying my beans from here to brew my coffee at home!
Great little shop, friendly staff. Great for a coffee, good beer selection and convenience items. Quality inventory
New to the area and found this little gem, pleasantly surprised by the correlation of great coffee quality and friendly, cute baristas. 😏
Great coffee, friendly staff, very chill atmosphere. As good a coffee shop as they come
Great coffee, always friendly staff. Nice little store as well particularly with a nice beer selection.
Tried caramel macchiato multiple times. Worst than Starbucks.
Mostly great coffe some of the baristas arent good at mixing the syrup in but ingredents are very higj quality also wouldny reccomend getting any objects from there stick to the coffe
Small quirky spot to get a great deal on solid coffee. A couple tables to sit, and sandwiches. Grab a bag of beans while you’re at it.
Cute neighborhood shop with a small grocery. Coffee is good but a little fruity if you’re into that. I prefer a nuttier bean.
Their Roasters Choice coffee is the bomb! I bought a packet of it, ground it very fine (because my percolator needs fine powder), and I enjoy a cup of heaven every morning! Adding some milk and sugar appeals to my Indian tastes very well.
Such a cute spot! The staff is always so friendly too!
Love this placd. Good wine, snacks and great coffee. The barista even colored a couple of cups for us!
I used to really love this Market and had been walking there for my coffee since I moved to the neighborhood 4 years ago. The staff USED to be amazing, I knew them all by name, their life stories, their dreams. Since the last manager change things have gone downhill, though. There was a much better handoff when Siri was the manager, but the last person left very abruptly and we’ve noticed the market just hasn’t been the same since. Some of the new staff is great, but only a couple people make my coffee correctly now. The woman that works on the weekends has to be the grumpiest barista I have ever encountered. You’re lucky if she even looks at you when you walk in and she cannot make a latte to save her life. I hate to say it, but I’ve been driving to Starbucks in Uvillage now because at least they are consistent. I never know what I am going to get at Seven anymore. All the random late openings are annoying as well after walking all the way up there just to see they still aren’t open at 9am sometimes. The culture and community feeling that Seven brought to the neighborhood just doesn’t exist anymore. It’s very sad.
LOVE this place all the way from Florida! Stumbled upon Seven Coffee Roasters as a gift in a Knack Box. Have since placed two orders for the 3 for $35.00. The Espresso Huli, Brazil Carmo De Minas and the Roasters Choice are my favorites. I ordered on 04/10/18 and received my beans on 04/12/18 via USPS priority mail in Florida, for free. Check on the roasted date of the beans.
A very cool coffee shop/ grocery / wine stop in the middle of the local neighborhood. Really chill vibe with a small outdoor patio. Coffee was quite good, with plenty of milk subs. Would I go back? Absolutely!
Cute little store..coffee also..
Great and chill local cafe!
Seven Coffee always has the nicest staff, and their coffee is AMAZING!
Not sure how the rating is so high, coffee taste is just not there.
Great little grocery store and Cafe with lots of alternatives. Latte was great. Also experienced my first MacGregor (with bacon) from Honest Biscuits. OMG! Ill be back...
New fav coffee shop in Seattle area.
So popular you probably wont find a seat but if you can snag a patio table in the warmer months this is a lovely spot. Right now they have more grocery options than they normally do which is so nice. Great, friendly staff!
I wouldnt recommend ordering anything from them online. They substituted the coffee I ordered without asking. So, I ended up paying for a coffee I did not want or like! I contacted customer service and simply got, We should have let you know beforehand. Its a great coffee, and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for your order. Thats it? No offer to refund or exchange for something comparable to what I actually ordered? Thats NOT okay! I still had to pay for the wrong coffee! Very poor experience.
Recipe for an afternoon well spent with the kids: find a parking spot in the neighborhood - they were pretty readily available on this weekday afternoon. Get a dirty chai here: their chai is WORTHWHILE, cinnamon-y. Let the kids each pick out a treat from the variety they have. Walk to Ravenna, a few blocks away. Explore for minutes to hours. Walk back to the car, satisfied. (You stayed long enough to tire the kids out and theyre now arguing, but up until then it was great. Theyll sleep well tonight.)
I love Seven! Coffee is delicious. Also, their market/shop is delightful -- so many little treasures and a nice mix of practical things (groceries and stuff you might need around the house) and fun/surprising things to brighten your day. Recently I found the COOLEST annotated edition of Mary Shelleys Frankenstein there; it was so fun to find such a unique version of one of my favorite books when I was on an otherwise average morning walk to grab a coffee :)
This coffee shop is very cute and quaint. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is super laid back and comfortable. It is a really nice place to hang out, chat, read, work, etc. while enjoying some coffee in the morning. The coffee is good - not anything super special but it is tasty and the environment is enjoyable. :)
There is the SWEETEST gal in the world that works here! The second I walked into the cafe she was so sweet and helped me pick a drink that would be perfect for me. So fun to meet someone so cheerful on such a grey day! So thankful they have great vegetarian food options as well.
Great coffee and great atmosphere! I love to come here to study of hang out, as the staff is very welcoming and friendly. I personally enjoy the london fog or a simple espresso shot. 5/5 would recommend to those looking for a quiet, relaxed environment to enjoy a cup of something good!
Totally weird inside but the beans are fresh and tasty
Nice and chill place. Brewed coffee was different than what Ive had, but it was great nonetheless. Came a few hours before closing and barista was friendly, and the area was really clean. I will probably come back here in the future to try out their espresso and food.
Sweet little cafe and mini grocery by Ravenna Park. Nice staff, love the atmosphere. They have sandwiches and sweet treats. Minimal gluten free options but a few. Chai is nice balance of spicy and sweet (and Im picky). Great place to work but can fill up.
I had a pancake sandwich which was all vegan and tasted amazing! Also the raspberry oat bar which was delicious. All of the staff were very nice and helpful. They had an amazing assortment of groceries and drink options. Sat on the outdoor patio which was beautiful and quaint. Will definitely be going back again!
Great place to meet with friends.
Cute coffee shop and mini grocery tucked away in Ravenna
Nice selection of beer, good coffee, and friendly staff. Convenient location next to Ravenna Park.
A true treasure in Ravenna! I feel so fortunate to have delicious coffee, snacks, and odds n ends right smack dab in the neighborhood in a lovely space, with wonderful baristas, and management that clearly cares about the community and the world. If you think that its not possible to have a cafe that does all of that, then you have to come to Seven and experience it for yourself.
Love their home Seven Coffee, never over roasted. I get the almond milk cappuccinos and a gluten free treat. Warning the cream pies are addicting. Great music, great staff, great customers.
This cute little cafe is one-of-a-kind! Its both a cafe and a mini grocery store thats stocked with all of the basics. The coffee is amazing, and the place has a personality. Seating can be an issue on some days, but otherwise its a perfect spot to relax or study.
Coffee wasnt that good and tasted burnt. I had high hopes since all the reviews were really high.
Have driven by a million times. Today I couldnt face traffic into Seattle and came to enjoy a fabulous cappuccino and bagel. Small, cozy, fun shop, warm and welcoming. Ill be back!
Seven Coffee Roasters is a cute little market/espresso shop. They’re open pretty late (but stop serving espresso at 6). Seating can be limited, but the atmosphere is pretty laid back. I like their peppermint patties (from a mint farm) and their top tarts.
A quaint little coffee shop. This place, the people, along with the coffee really brings people together. Either the locals, those who are in the area passing though, or those who are just visiting, like myself. Everyone makes you feel welcomed. They are all very friendly. Its one of the many reasons I love about coming here.
I loved this cafe so much! Chai tea was soft and creamy. It was amazing! Staffs were friendly, and the place was so cute and adorable. I’ll definitely come here more often❤️
Stopped in for light reading, latte, and coffee beans -- service was quick and friendly. Coffee beans were freshly roasted, and the latte was awesome. Ill definitely stop by again!
I appreciate the emphasis on sustainability here. High quality coffee, friendly and fast service and a supportive, inclusive environment! Great place to study or just to grab a quick drink and go.
Good atmosphere. Good drinks. Environmentally responsible. Packed somewhat, only a few places to seat, but that’s part of the charm somewhat. Friendly staff
A lovely little hidden shop, worth the walk from transit :) Delicious latte with hard-to-find in-house syrups (even more special flavors: coconut and cardamom, yum!) and lovely service from the barista. Also, a scrumptious cheesy honey biscuit, as well as a nice selection of local wares, whole bean coffee, chocolates, and beer/wine. Quiet studying folks with limited seating, my kind of vibe as a grad student. Will definitely be back!
How did I only just find out about this place??? By accident, too! My vegan friends have clearly been holding out on me. We went for Sunday brunch, had to wait about 15 minutes for the one big table, but it was fine.
Crowded, funky and college feeling - i.e. lots of political messages and world-views on my sleeve. Feels like a very old, small grocery store converted into a coffee shop in one half of the space - because thats exactly what it is. Everyone is nice and the coffee is good.
Cute little place and the staff are super friendly. Low noise level and a great place to study. Its not terribly big so finding a space might be hard, but it has a great feel and the coffee is good for the price! They also have a solid selection of beers, wines, and other cold beverages as well as snacks. Would recommend
Seven is definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in town. Welcoming low key vibe, solid coffee, and quality bulk beans! Also points for having some lived-in character, as opposed to the five million sleek new fancy spots in Seattle these days.
I moved into the neighborhood last year and 7 has become my reliable go-to spot for amazing coffee. Everyone that works at the shop is amazing and kind, and the space itself is very community oriented. Their coffee is equally as delightful and enriching, with a variety of roasts and single origin beans from all over the world. This is a good and wholesome spot! Great place to meet the local dogs too, if youre lucky!
Great little cafe and market. Good selections for things you might need to grab quickly. They also make great coffee!
Good coffee, good memories.I used to come to this shop most mornings when I lived in the UD. The coffee was always good and the atmosphere was always nice. Coming here brings back fond memories of walking to get coffee with my college friends, and one of my first dates with my now wife included a cup from Seven. Come make your own memories here!
Retro corner store atmosphere and the best expresso I have found in Seattle to date. Price is right as well.Close to Ravenna Park south entrance.
I literally look forward to the days where I get to have a yogurt and a cup of coffee at the Market Cafe. Its a beautiful little neighborhood setting. The music is always good. Its warm, and the people are friendly. What else could one want?
Super cozy, has great coffee, sandwiches, and whatever you forgot to pick up at the grocery store the other day. Great vibes and super friendly make this place an awesome little oasis!
Im so lucky so close to this U district staple. Seven has the friendliest staff, the best food, coffee, and convenience items. Hope they are always around!
This is my favorite little coffee shop. The people who work here are absolutely amazing and they serve good coffee at a reasonable price. Their alternative milk options have always been ahead of the learning curve and theyre always playing the best, chill music. One of my favorite places to hang out, caffeinate up, and get some work done!
We love coming to this small, sustainability-focused, independent, grocery/cafe. Its clean. The tunes are mellow, indie pop. The staff are unique and friendly.
7 Coffee has an excellent selection of pastries, sandwiches, and snacks to accompany their ever-changing, wide array of coffee roasts that they make themselves. They have a unique, small selection of basic groceries as well as well-stocked shelves of wine and beer. The only downside is the limited number of outlets if you need power for an electronic device. Overall an awesome, small neighborhood cafe!
I found this place on one of my many walks. They are more than just a coffee shop since they are also a mini convenience store. I was treated with a warm welcomes. I had to sit down and stay. Another neat feature unique to this place is that every Wednesday night around 7 there is a group that plays Irish folk music. They have been playing at the cafe long enough that the cafe extends its hours till 9 for them. The spot has very limited seating so do come early to get a seating.
This place is wonderful, and its location gives it a neighborly vibe that can be difficult to come by in the U district. Also, their roasts are some of the most delicious I have ever had!
This is a great little grocery and cafe. Lots of variety if you want to meet to get coffee with a friend, but also some great items for people in the neighborhood to grab some groceries quickly.
This place was a delightful find on one of my husbands and my trips to Seattle. Its a very quaint shop with great coffee, breakfast and snack items. I believe they serve lunch as well, but Ive been their for breakfast. We go there every time we go to Seattle. I enjoyed the coffee so much that I started buying it online. The coffee is wonderful, rivaled only by the service. I recently ordered the wrong coffee by mistake. When I wrote to tell of my problem, I said I wasnt sure if I had made the mistake or if the problem was outside of my actions. They werent concerned about whose fault it was. They said theyd send me the coffee I wanted and that I could keep the other one or gift it. I was amazed! Who gives service like that! I cant recommend them enough. And if youre in the area, go to the shop and indulge in a wonderful drink and friendly chat. (One evening I walked in on an impromptu string quartet.) You never know what youre going to find there, but you can always be sure its good.
Staff is great here and the coffee is good. I love its location and how quiet it is in the surrounding area. If you bike here you could get a drink for free!
I placed an order to be sent to my son who loves this coffee and it was delivered quite quickly, but the mail person left it in an unsecured area of an apartment building...and it went missing. I guess I wasnt really surprised by that especially at this time of year, but I was surprised that when I called the store and sent an email, I was greeted by such fantastic employees who responded to the situation immediately and re-shipped the coffee at no additional expense, the same day, to a different address.I was floored because this rarely happens these days, and was so thankful that they are such an upstanding and outstanding company. I would highly recommend this company and look forward to dealing with them in the future! I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!
A good place for grab and go coffee and pastries, or to sit down and enjoy a beer and a snack. I love that they have vegan pastry options and a small mercantile!
Yay! All my friends are here! Both of them!Great homey place. And my favorite bench to sit on in front. This is a beautiful spot with huge leafy trees all around. Love it!!
I love the coffee here - 7 Roasters is one of the best in Seattle. The atmosphere is conducive to Saturday bumming around days sitting in the sun looking out into the green neighborhood or if you have to you can work from the place. Free WiFi with no passwords to worry about. Food looks good - with some vegan / vegetarian / gluten free options. Most definitely recommend.
A hidden gem, we prefer to get whatever we can here over larger grocery stores
I love this place. I decided to take a walk through my neighborhood and stumbled upon it. They roast their own coffee and are part cafe part market. The bar seating is up against a garage door style window so you can look out upon the outdoors. The coffee is perfect. Very smooth with notes of lemon and macadamia. I love this.
Love this place! The coffee is great, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The staff is always very friendly.
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Very cozy spot to chat or do work while drinking a very nice coffee or espresso. They make their espresso drink strong, but they’re still so smooth to drink. The quirky little market always has unique things to browse through while waiting for my coffee to be made.
A fun spot to stop into. I always pass by it, but have never gone in until now. Glad that I did. Relaxing atmosphere for studying, and great coffee to boot.
Lovely little place. Has good coffee and a great, inclusive atmosphere. Would come here every day if it was in near my commute.
This is a fantastic local spot serving up delicious cups of coffee. They also have a neat selection of goods you can by. Stop by and enjoy the experience!
This is one of my favorite spots in the city. They have great coffee at an affordable price, and a cool atmosphere to work from. I highly recommend checking it out if youre in the area.
I love every single thing about this little shop. The coffee is fantastic and they are open and affirming place. It makes my day better just to walk through the doors.
