John and Amy do high quality work and are honest and forthright and extremely communicative. After months of the dealership replacing random parts trying to fix an intermittent passenger airbag light, John’s crew spent a day debugging it and discovered the simple inexpensive long-term fix: tightening the cable connectors under the seat. It used to light up every few months, and now it hasn’t returned in ~2 years. Since then they’ve helped with spark plugs, oil changes, fluid changes, and suspension and I’ve consistently found them affordable and efficient.

That is to say, you cant save money and dont want to spend wrong money, and the repairs must have quality assurance. I searched the Internet and found a five-star Mr. Johns car repair company. My car just stopped working while I was driving home from work. I picked this mechanic shop based on its good reviews and I am so glad I did! The owner was very easy to work with, he identified the problem quickly (Id run out of gas, how embarrassing) and he didnt charge me at all for the time he spent diagnosing the problem. This is simply the best, most honest, and dependable auto repair facility that I have ever been to. They have taken great care of my vehicles for years now and the quality is second to none. Once I took my truck in to replace my brakes. After inspection I was told it was just brake dust and they blew them out and sent me on my way rather than replacing my brakes. Scammers, I have spent thousands at that shop, replaced many un needed parts, complete part replacers, not sure if they are in the auto parts business or repair. I was bugged (texted to write a review). Think about this, they claim they are woman owned, and claim veteran status! PAID FOR THE SAME REPAIR TWICE!

My initial business with Vinson/Haas Auto was great. Having been disappointed recently with dealership mechanics and prices for service, I found V/H Auto on Yelp and happily spent around $2000 getting 65k-mileage updates done on my car before a long road trip (replacing both axels, air filters, tire rotation, etc.) after seeing it was a women-owned and veteran-owned business (way better than dealerships!). I also appreciated how conscious they were of the current pandemic situation with everything able to be done over the phone or by email.However, a day into the road trip, we made it to Idaho and had to stop due to the brand new axels seeping already and the transmission slipping. I had it towed to the closest dealership who replaced the transmission (under warranty) and replaced the axels with the correct ones and supplied us with a lender car to finish up our road trip for free since I had previously been a loyal customer and was in quite a bind so far from home. Our entire route home was changed to go back through Idaho to pick my car back up after being serviced. Upon returning, I emailed Vinson/Haas Auto to let them know of what had happened and to give them the opportunity to win my business back by offering some sort of refund or compensation for the amount of chaos this mistake had caused, which they did not take.I guess Im just lucky that my dealership had my back this time. I will definitely be spending dealership prices next time since I know they will be keeping my car and my family safe on the road.

I think this might be my second review of this company, but Im just going to point out that I have traveled across the valley just to have them work on my car. Theyre the best in service and fair pricing, but you should definitely call ahead to make sure theres a spot open! :) Theyve kept my car of 14yrs running the best it can, even after it started to have issues that are usual for the brand and model.I highly recommend my friends and family to go to this shop when possible.

Terrific family, terrific mechanics.Theyve repaired cars for my parents & my family. Im now referring my daughters to them.They repaired a 150,000 mile old, long-sitting Toyota Corolla. It sat for at least a year. They got it back into shape for sale. We sold it to a friend (not something we would normally do). Half a dozen years later our friends still own it.They repaired my fathers transmission for a song. Another shop wanted to replace the transmission entirely.For +/- $1,500 they brought another long-sitting Toyota Land Cruiser of mine back to life after a Toyota dealer/shop diagnosed it as a $7,000 blown head gasket/rebuild. After Mike Vinsons was done the truck ran perfectly - a 168,000 mile rebirth.These are the uncles in the business we all wish we had. Want fair? Want honest? Take your cars here.
