You may go to Menards for one thing, but always find much more. I went for samples of paint, but was also super impressed with their food selection that has better prices than the grocery store (and some things you cant find elsewhere -like Calypso lemonade). I also really like how you can look at flooring and even take samples for your home improvement. The light section is expansive. I also like how they have neighborhood contractors to help with jobs if needed

This is a hugh store,that has just about everything in it,and I love that they have an elevator and an escalator that will let you take your cart upstairs with you. And for a person whos partially handicapped and has trouble walking they need more carts that you can ride around in..Also put benches everywhere for elders,and handicapped people..we spent time by The Doors and by the appliances and my knees were giving out.What I would have given,to be able to sit down for a few moments.Just a suggestion..I give this story 4 and a half stars.It will be 5 stars,when you get benches for elders/handicapped people..Thank you

Best of the 3 or 4 hardware stores in the immediate area. All of which are good hardware stores. Love my hometown.

Looking for outside of the house security light systems. Menards had many to choose from. We found a system that worked well for our house and reasonably priced.

11-2021. Want to thank Dave who is a employee of Menard. I asked him if he knew anything about electric stoves, he said yes. Dave was so helpful and explained the difference between models.. he got us a cart and even took it down to cashier. He deserves the recognition as a caring employee. We bought Marshall 3D electric stove. Very pleased with it. Our furnace went out, had to borrow neighbors space heater.. So we bought Marshall stove this will help keep house warm. Plus it is so attractive...9/2020. We are cleaning our 27 year old deck. We are using 30 Seconds deck cleaner concentrate and a pump sprayer. Better than the hose on our deck. We had to use a brush also. It is doing a fairly good job.......Love Menards. Brightly lite. Has just about everything we are looking for. I can pick up milk, water, groceries and household items while my husband is doing his thing. Nice selection of lawn furniture. Halloween and Christmas when in season.

Prices are comparable to Home depot but that 11% off is the better deal!

I was shopping today in your store when I heard a lady worker with blond hair cussing and yelling really loudly near the back room. That’s very unprofessional and uncalled for. Not sure how employees can act like that. Will shop back at shillings instead !

I am so in love with this Menards. I know I am at a certain mature age when I get excited to come here and I have to look down every aisle, upper and lower level. The lovely young lady is playing the piano so gratefully and beautifully and I knew the words to every song. This place is an amusement park for adults. My 13 year old and my husband was with me and nobody complained about how long we were in the store. Love it here.

Another company that blatantly violated ADA laws with private property policies. Plus if you have even 1 dollar in store credit on a receipt, they will argue against giving you a cash refund. I went in with a receipt. About $150 on the receipt with literally 83¢ paid with store credit. Would not give me a cash refund of $40 for the unopened stuff I didnt need because store credit was used. I argued and argued and told my wife, no more Menards for me. Home Depot, Lowes or true value. Dont need their 11% scam anyway. Ever notice the prices go up whenever they run that thing? Theyre borrowing money interest free. Im not a bank.

This Menards is great. They likely have what you are looking for your home. They don’t have a lot of the premium brand’s but they will have a similar version of it. The store is well stocked and clean. You can easily find yourself browsing the store for and the clock fly by.

This is a really big store. It is not layed out very logically. I am sure anything you need is in there, it will probably take assistance to find it.

Exactly as u expect,Menards is Menards. But I frequent the flooring departments and am known by name and have always been treated wonderfully. Mike Smith used to run the flooring and is now up stairs in plumbing, great man... And now the flooring manager is just as helpful and awesome as Mike .. couldnt ask for better

We went to menards in schererville today to buy 16in pavers for our yard. It was a big order and we paid at the customer service counter and drove around to the yard where we asked for help-twice. A young man was wondering around the yard like he might be looking for someone but never went up to or helped anyone and went quickly back in the store. When I yelled to him he never came over. This is the worst store as far as customer service! We are done this has happened a couple times. And we no that management doesn’t care nor does the corporate office because things don’t ever change. That’s ok there is a lot of competition out there that actually cares about their customers - what a shame

We just had appliances delivered today. The one who set up delivery must of messed up because anything over 300 lbs gets dropped in drive. But we pd for home set up, which shouldnt have been offered. We ran into a lot of obstacles getting our fridge in. But Roberto and his helper got it in, put it all togethet and even offered to help put our doors back on our house. We told them no its wasnt a problem. They were so patient, helpful, and never once complained! They turned a stressful situation around and made it the best experience possible! Wtg Menards! And those 2 men were terrific!

I ordered fence material, all in stock. Calls me the day before delivery to tell me they are more than 100 fence boards off on their count. I will have to pay a separate delivery fee when the rest come in. Delivery scheduled between 7 and 12. 3pm, still not here.Update. Delivery came at 330. Driver was a total a**. Wouldnt drop in my driveway because it entered off a side street. Instead tore up my front yard with the loader because he insisted it had to be on my property. Every other menards delivery from other stores dropped it in my driveway with no problem. I hate writing this because I go to that store often. Management has been unresponsive.

Love how huge this menards is and they always have great prices however HOLLIE the cashier needs to work on her customer service skills. We approached her register and she didn’t even acknowledge our presence and overall zero customer service.

The service at Menards today was fabulous? I havent always had it be like that but it seems like there are a lot more employees, and everyones had a really went Above and Beyond in making sure we could find what we wanted and we got what we needed. And I truly appreciate that.

Snowy bad weather on a Saturday wanting to get in and out. Went to pick up one item last day on sale. Visiting from east coast, stopped at service desk for assistance, ask where item was located and employee was absolutely no help. Told me back wall and walked away. After walking the entire back wall had to ask another employee after not locating item. Come to find out item was located upstairs and not on the back wall on lower level or upper level. A quick stop became a long stop. Visit area and stay for 3 months at a time. This store will be a last resort when I cannot find items at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

A younger man named David working in plumbing stocking shelves. Took his time to check a medicine cabinet if it was in stock or not. After it wasn’t, he took me over to the desk to have someone order it for me. Excellent customer service and very helpful.

Unlike Home Depot the store tries to charge you for a mask instead of just giving you a complementary at the door and then you have to walk upstairs to go get your 10 foot long electrical supplies and try to not hit the lights on the way down the stairs and then you need to wait for 6 feet of wire under 5 pounds at the back door and they go and get it from the same place they got you the paper receipt from. One of the dumbest stores I’ve ever seen. LOL. And don’t forget your milk and eggs on the way out of the hardware store👎🏼

Went in to look at a specific Patio Set. Website showed stock at Schererville as well as surrounding locations. Once we ask for some help the lady whom was helping us said that they were sold out and closest one was in Dolton. She also stated that we could order one, but wasn’t sure when it would arrive. So I asked if we could have the Display Unit and she stated that was not an option. Went home ordered online got a call today that display Unit is being delivered to us on Friday. Just a very awkward transaction.

I worked there for about a month and a half, and the staff overall is pretty cool and helpful. There was one person that just treated everyone so bad, and always had a bad temper. The manger in receiving named Mike Madrano, he would call people every name in the book, threaten to fight coworkers, make coworkers cry, get a short fuze with costumers. It’s mind boggles me on how unprofessional he is and how he even still has a job.. he has gotten reported to HR multiple times and have yet to a single thing about it. He would get in your face and yell if u ask a question it was just terrible to be around him. He would always talk about smoking after work and over all just wasn’t a good work environment to be around. Multiple coworkers are scared to even work around him Bec he treats them so bad. I hope something is done about this because he honestly shouldn’t even have a job with how he treats his coworkers. It’s disgusting.

A clean store, employees wear mask, and plenty of room to distance here. From my experience, mostly everything Ive ever needed was in stock and cheaper than Home Depot. They literally have everything here. You can do some basic grocery shopping too.

Everyone is pretty helpful. Ive never had any problems at any Menards. Of course there are the young girls at the registers who look half asleep. But theyre still kids and havent learned how to smile I guess.

Rudely accosted for not wearing a mask. Even though I told them I had a medical condition that prevented me from it. Had a card explaining. But they wouldnt listen.

Almost every time I go there I kick myself for walking in that building again. At 11 percent rebate that all you get is a store credit and the quality of merchandise and the lack of help make it the store of last resort for me

I’ve never been so disappointed with a company in my life. A sign stands out the front doors stating “we are no longer able to allow children under the age of 16, nor pets, in the store due to Covid. If you look under the age of 16yrs, you will be asked to show (drivers license). A mask is required for shopping in this store and if you don’t have one with you, they are available at the front desk for $1. Let it be known, for the amount of money we have spent with this company, we will be taking out money elsewhere at this point. The level of discrimination with which these policies go to is unreal. Let’s talk about the single parent who has no one to leave their children with, but needs something of a safety concern to help make sure their children are taken care of (fire alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, cabinet locks, etc. And that doesn’t even begin to mention the other things we might need while we’re in there...). How about this mask policy? I don’t know if this is a manager’s requirement or if it’s a corporate mandate, but either way... both of these policies, especially the mask policy, speaks to the level to which your company and decision makers have researched this. Stop letting the TV make your policies for you, and start researching for yourselves - beginning with a full study of immunology asa whole and how viruses work in situations like this. Also be sure to research the difference between a virus and a disease. It’s two different things. And they react differently. As you are looking at that information, take a look at the “Covid Deaths” column on the cdc website. The survival rate for this virus is 99% - which is actually quite good compared to the survival rates of numerous others. Let’s talk about something else - what about those people with an autistic son or daughter who can’t wear a mask? Your policy is a direct discriminating of these persons. What about the person who has anxiety issues and cannot wear one, or maybe the person who breathes shallow and is likely to faint if they are required to wear a mask which forces you to breathe in your own CO2 and thereby risking the possibility of fainting, what about the person who had respiratory issues that do not affect others around them, but again, to have to breathe in their own air, would risk the possibility of even greater long term effects to their health as a whole? Your policies are a direct discrimination of all these persons and more. We definitely won’t be back until this policy is changed. For sure. It’s not worth my health and it’s not worth my children’s health either - both physically and mentally. You can do better than this Menards. You could have been a leader in the industry on this, yet you chose not to be.

This location has 2 levels and well organized. Moving slanted sidewalk like to get to 2nd level, along with an oversized elevator for ADA. When I needed help there was someone knowledgeable. So far best in area. There is a greeter making sure everyone is wearing a mask. 😊

I like Menards overall but this store is ridiculous with the second floor that has millwork, refrigerators etc on the second floor and things like paint and groceries on the bottom. Why would you intentionally make it harder for your customers? They also have parking spaces that are difficult if you are driving a large truck. Id rather drive a few more miles and go to Merrillville.

I love that Menards requires everyone to wear a mask or any face covering and that they sell masks for whoever doesnt have one already. I felt safer here than at any other places Ive been to lately. They care about the well-being of their customers and honestly I wish all stores did this.

Decent store with a large variety of products at respectable prices. Staff seems knowledgeable enough and the store well maintained. Nice and clean. The fancy motorised ramp to bring your cart to the second level is much appreciated by both shoppers and those in wheelchairs. 10/10 will be back
