Terrible customer service. Only picked up a transfer from a distributor. Would not ever spend money in this place.
Great place, truly honest people to deal with. I was about to purchase a rifle that was marked for $500. When they looked it up in the computer, it was actually $300. They sold it to for the $300. They could have easily not said anything and I would have paid the $500, but they did not take advantage of the situation. Will happily do business with them again
Great people. I wont be buying my guns from anywhere but here from now on. Very knowledgeable staff, and all around honest. Got a bad box of ammo and they gave me a good box free of charge to make up for it. You wont see bass pro doing anything like that. There prices are very reasonable and they carry great quality guns. Highly recommend shopping here.
I wouldnt go anywhere else to purchase a firearm! Great selection, staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly (Billy is amazing ask for him). They really take their time to teach you about the products, basics when it comes to gun safety and will point you in the right direction when it comes to which gun is the best fit for you. Perfect place to go for beginners like myself. All around great place!!!
A very nice experience every time I pick up an FFL transfer firearm. The best transfer fee (currently $25.00) in Savannah . I enjoy searching auctions for special uncommon guns and none of the staff ever treats or makes me feel bad because I bought the gun from another source. Everyone is always very friendly and seems to really enjoy their profession . I look forward to every visit !
Had a great first experience at Thunderbolt Guns. I took my gun in to have a backstrap changed because I didnt have the tool at home. The guys are all friendly, knowledgeable, and funny, plus there was a super sweet dog in the shop; always a huge win. I love a good local shop, and I will definitely be back.
By far the best customer service Ive experienced at a gun store in the Savannah area. Definitely would recommend over anywhere else in town.
This is a smaller mom and pop feeling place. Definitely chocked full of essentials. Very friendly and attentive staff. They also have a dog in the place that is really nice too. Hopefully I am not mixing this place up with another place. But the dog does provide great customer service as well.
Great experience, knowledgeable and Billy was really helpful, even though the phones was killing him that day lol I’ll definitely be back
First off I wanna say to anyone who wants unbeatable prices, infinite knowledge on handguns, rifles, shotguns you name it these guys have mastered the art. I wanna say they are some of the most professional, mature, and downright amazing individuals. I wanna thank you guys for everything and I will definitely be shopping here soon in the future.
New GA resident. Great experience at Thunderbolt. Shane and Patrick are excellent instructors.
Purchased a gun through another dealer today and had it transferred to thunderbolt. Was expecting a harsh response from them but did not receive it. I will definitely be looking to buy from them even if the price is higher. Very professional experience. Thank you
I am new and interested to learn more about firearms and training; they were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Definitely will be my go to place for equipment and parts. Good selection and anything they dont have, they can receive through and order shortly after. Great place
Honestly one of the best gun shops I have ever visited. The only one in the area that I have had the personal touch with. Snap is extremely friendly. Shane Brown the gunsmith impressed me with his knowledge of firearms. If youre looking for a gun shop that has good prices and good people this is the one you want.
Outstanding customer services! I have moved around a good bit and have had some great gun stores and this one is on the list for Savannah! I would happily give them my business again. Super friendly and want to make sure you understand everything about the products you are interested in.
Had an FFL transfer with Thunderbolt Guns after an online order from another state. Contacted Mr. Berman and got a response pretty quickly. When item transfer arrived Mr. Berman gave me a call for the pickup. Did a short background check and everything was done. Had a great experience at the location and can say this will be my go to shop in Savannah. Highly recommended and thanks Thunderbolt Guns!
Fantastic experience! I have bought 3 guns from them and wont buy from anyone else. Ive tried other shops like dean forest, but it was like pulling teeth to get a call back from them. I just did a special order with Brian at Thunderbolt guns and he walked me through the process and kept me up to date with regular calls. I cant recommend them enough.
Very great group of guys, and they were extremely knowledgeable about the particular gun I was seeking. Although they did not have the gun I was looking for, they made me feel like a welcomed guest nonetheless. I will stop by here in the future, and enjoyed my visit. Well worth the stop.
The best gun store in the area. Nice cross section of product offered by knowledgeable people. Even if you arent buying today, they offer education and demonstration. They have a reasonable selection of holsters and reloading consumables. They also offer small class size training to help you learn to use your firearm safely and legally. If they dont have what you want, theyll order it for you.
Not much of a selection. Could be better at customer service.
Had several guns transferred through this shop. Staff is always polite, respectful, and helpful. All transfers lasted less that 15 minutes WITHOUT a ccw. I recommend this shop for quality gun sales and transfers.
This is a great gun store. Their selection and pricing are very good and they dont talk down to you just because you dont know much about guns. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and asks questions about your experience with and intended use of a gun before making a recommendation. They dont seem to push any particular brand. I have done business with them several times, both for gun purchases and training and have never been disappointed. I read some other reviews which had negative things to say. My only comment is that they must have interacted with people who are no longer there because Dick and his current staff are great to deal with even if you just stop in to talk. I wont comment about troublesome people finding troubles wherever they go.
I learned about the Blue Label Program from these guys a year ago and was able to purchase a G19 with the discount. It was too big to comfortably carry AIWB, so I wanted something else. Then all they asked for was my DD214. Not retired, just a veteran. Again, I learned about the discount from them, so what they told me is all I knew in regards to the program.Fast forward a year and I asked about doing the same thing with two G43xs that were supposed to be delivered in two days. I was planning a trip that weekend and would be gone for six months. I wanted a family member to have something to defend themselves with while I was gone and all of this panic was happening. I made that clear, and was again told theyd be here Friday. I hadnt been to the store, yet, and my physical DD214 was at home, so I called back to see if a digital copy would suffice to save me a trip. I was told thats fine. So, I go to the shop and for a third time explain the situation and am told three G43xs would arrive by Friday. I prepay for two G43xs LE (Blue Label) with cash and two boxes of very expensive 9mm, 20 rounds each. I started filling out the transfer paperwork, but they told me I didnt need to do that until I pick up the products.Friday rolls around, no calls. I call them and now the story is they havent actually even been able to talk to their distributor and they dont know when the Glocks will ship... of course, after theyve got my money. After going back to the store Saturday to speak to the owner in person, I decided to postpone my trip by one week, being assured that the Glocks would arrive the following week. I am told to call Monday for an update.Monday comes around, so I call. The guys not there, so I give someone else my number and am told Ill get a call back... never did.Tuesday rolls up, I call them in the afternoon again and now Im told the Glocks arrived. They didnt call me like they said they would when the Glocks would arrive, and everything is about to be shut down tomorrow because of this virus issue. Im glad I kept calling.I show up with my receipt, my licenses, my DD214. He pulls out the Glocks and I start doing the paperwork. Then, we get to the final page and he asks for my military ID. I have an expired IRR ID, my VA ID, and my DD214. After all of this, NOW he tells me I dont qualify. I have to be retired military, still active, or reserve. How the hell did the owner and another employee both allow me to even consider the option MULTIPLE TIMES before making sure I even qualified, especially before prepaying?I understand theyve been swamped by the current situation, but I could have been looking elsewhere before everyone else sold out and I could have gone on my trip as planned. Someone at some point should have made certain I qualified for the program. My only option was a refund. At least I wasnt blamed. The owner wouldnt allow me to return the unopened ammo boxes for a refund either, which are useless to me seeing as how I have no pistols to use them with and no other shop around has G43xs. He couldnt even offer to buy them for himself or someone else, even though someone would have bought them, considering theyre sold out. Its a liability. Bullcrock. I had every intention of walking out of the shop with two Glocks, why would I have sabotaged the ammo? $50+ for 40 rounds that I would not have purchased if they had anything less premium at the time and especially, obviously if I had known I wouldnt have any 9MM pistols in my possession!Lesson learned to look into EVERYTHING on my own, even if someone in a position of having to know about such things assures me Im good to go. Unbelievable. Inexcusable. Will not do business with this guy again.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Im from out of state so it was more just browsing but a great stop. Its the k OK no of gun store I want all first time gun purchasers to go to and learn from.
Awesome experience. I went in there not knowing a thing about guns and i was taught everything i needed to know on the subject. They answered every question i had and made sure i understood fully. I will definitely come bacn here if i need to
I just left Thunderbolt Guns. I had been comparing handguns over the past month online, and finally felt like I was ready to get some expert advice and see them up close. While the attendant retrieved each of the handguns I wanted to compare, the owner was with another customer looking at some sort of AR. At one point, the owner commented about wanting to make sure were no rounds chambered, and was clearing the weapon. When I looked over, the weapon he was clearing was aimed about a foot over my head, but otherwise directly at me. I was about to say something, but decided not to. I went back to the handguns in front of me, and asked a question or two. After a couple minutes, BOOM, a round was fired.....from the weapon that had only minutes before had been pointed at me....by the owner. Luckily the weapon the idiot had failed to clear wasnt pointed at anyone at the time. So, this being my first time in the store, that was my experience. The guy who was helping me, and the other guy working behind the counter seemed knowledgeable and shared my shock at a round being fired INSIDE a gun store. But the owner, well, lets just say Ill not spend a dime in that store, as safety seems to be low on his priority list. There were at least 4 other customers in the store at the time, so hes extremely lucky no one was hurt or killed.
Very friendly and helpful. Like to talk to customers about there own experiences and any information they can provide to you. Theres no sign that I saw that says no loaded firearms permitted so thats a big plus in my books.
Excellent customer service. Dick is a extremely smart guy who is more than willing to share his knowledge. Super easy to talk to.
Staff was very helpful, gave me some choices on what I was looking for, made me familiar with the weapons, and made me feel very comfortable. Im choosing between two weapons, they will definitely be the place I go for the purchase. Prices in line with everyone else. Great job.
I ordered a gun online and had it sent here for pickup. The guys were super easy to work with, knowledgeable, and friendly.
I enjoyed my visit. Shane was very helpful and knowledgeable. He didnt mind answering all of my questions.
Very knowledgeable staff. Can match basically any price online. Good people. The manager Ben is especially helpful and knows a lot about firearms.
Nice store, selection seems to be a bit limited. Fast and easy gun purchase. Was in and out of the store with my rifle in 20min.
Ive purchased a few guns from them, worked with every employee at some point, and will not buy a gun from any other vendor in town. They do transfers efficiently and affordably. Super smart and knowledgeable staff, will do business again there!
Staff is helpful and patient with a novice like me. I found the defensive gun class, taught by Dick, to be informative and entertaining.
Great customer service very helpful let me touch and hold any gun I wanted, purchase a nice glock 21 gen 4 45 acp for 395 had never been fired very pleased
The owner, Dick Berman, is not a man of his word-like he claims on the radio. I purchased a $500 X-sight. It did not work. The software was a nightmare. He accused me of getting a special deal from his former employee. He hung up on me and got really pissed that I wanted my money back. He would not refund my money. He waited several moths to hear back from the manufacturer. Manufacturer said it was fine.It was not! Even a friend who bought the same scope had all the same issues. Be careful of this guy. Finally, I had to take back $500 in merchandise from his store. He does not like returns, is rude and impossible to get a quick answer from. Buyer beware!
The Bad: Not sure if it was just me, but severely lowballed me on the trade value of a practically new Sig Sauer P938. Then when I contested other employee tries to argue with me about it. I have the blue book of guns. I understand making a profit but to say you’ll give me $300 for it and resale it for $400 is not only an insulting offer and an insult to my intelligence, but also a blatant lie unless he sought to purchase it for himself from the store. A way to improve: 1) Remember the customer is always right, unless they are wrong. I wasn’t wrong. 2) Don’t assume you know more than the customer; even if you do, you may not know how much they actually do know. 3) Be fair; business or not customers will appreciate it. At least hear the argument as to why a trade value is assumed/assessed to be too low. ($450-500 would have been reasonable offers, then you could resale for $600-700. Still lower than the price of your other Sig P938 and would have sold faster than the others) Lastly 4) Don’t argue with the customer, especially when you know you’re lowballing them. Furthermore, if you aren’t the sales associate directly dealing with the appraisal, let the associate who is justify their own appraisal.
Polite, and friendly. Way better than Ortiz as far as costmer service who tend to be more high and mighty know it alls
Awesome staff, you won’t regret it!
First time gun owner, super helpful and knowledgeable staff.
My brother and I took the training class and not only did we learn a great deal we had a.lot of fun.We took it very serious and in the end felt as though we made a friend in Dick Berman
Able to get what you need if not in stock
Weren’t very helpful and not friendly.
Elaine and I just completed the Reaction Time Defensive Handgun Course. Dick Berman did a thorough and detailed course of instruction. The classroom and gun range together, the most comprehensive and valuable instruction for beginners like Elaine and those like myself that havent handled handguns since my Marine Corps days....over 20 years ago. So much learned, from thinking about your surroundings to reacting to the threats. Thank you Dick Berman! Elaine and I look forward to the next level of instruction and tactics. We are so pleased with the knowledge you gave us, and to the sale of our Glock 17 and Glock 19 pistols (more to buy soon too...shhhhh, dont tell Elaine.) I would highly recommend this gun store and any of their classes offered. Again, many thanks to your and your professional team there. Chuck and Elaine Ceccacci
Ben helped me with my purchase and was very knowledgeable about guns.
