They were very nice at first, then came the other shoe. I brought my EZ-GO in to get an estimate on making it street legal, the rest is as follows. 1. The cart already had all lights needed for the road, it needed a DOT windshield ( their price $457, actual price $247 on Amazon), a plate holder ( any store for $3.99), a triangle ($15 at Tractor Supply) a windshield wiper and a plate light ( let’s guess that at $100). They would take it to DOT ( Florida law, not their rule) and get it passed. Their total for doing this? $2361. That is not a misprint. I declined that and picked up my cart, they wanted to charge me $161 for putting that garbage estimate together. Nothing on the estimate was itemized, and you could barely read it. We did negotiate to $50 for the estimate. Bottom line? Crooks. Steer clear, they have a $125 an hour shop rate to work on golf carts and the parts are marked up at a ridiculous rate. Hey Golf Coast, we have this little thing called the internet now, we can check prices….

Chose them due to very positive reviews. My golf cart is a good one but it needed new batteries. They picked up when I was not home. No problem. Used quality batteries and gave a 2 year warranty. Return delivery not as smooth but OK. Only comment is that they need some work on phone skills. Not very friendly, but that can slide if workmanship and price are good.

Very helpful, excellent service. We both have some mobility issues. There was a high probability we would not be buying one of their units. None the less we were treated with respect and courtesy. As it turns out, my wife had a lot of trouble getting in and out of the golf cart. It’s just not in the cards for us.Jay Smith

Great service... head-turning golf carts! We had a terrific experience renting a street legal golf cart from Golf Coast Golf Carts during our first trip to Siesta Key this winter. Ricks team dropped off and picked up the golf cart from our beach retreat, leaving no additional errands for us to run during our relaxing, long weekend get-away. Highly recommend! No return trip to Siesta Key will be complete with out a street legal golf cart from Rick. :)

Gulf Coast Golf Cars is always one of the first calls we make when scheduling a trip to the Sarasota area. Weve rented several street legal golf cars from Rick and his team over the past several years with each time being a great experience. Everyone weve dealt with has been friendly and professional. I cant imagine planning a Sarasota trip without calling Rick and his team.

Weve rented street legal golf carts from Golf Coast Golf Cars over the past five years when visiting Siesta Key. They drop off and pick up the golf cart from the beach so we dont have to worry about a thing. Rick and his team are friendly and professional. Once, when a key broke, Rick personally delivered us a new one at 11pm. Weve recommended the company to countless friends and will continue to use their service when we visit Sarasota.

It was a pleasure working with Rick on the purchase of our Cub Cadet ZT1. He was extremely knowledgeable and assisted us with narrowing down all of the different options until we settled on the perfect mower for our home. Exceptional value, would do business with them again.

I took my Mother in-laws EZ-GO RXV to this shop. This company was recommended because they have a system to check the controller. After the cart was initially diagnosed I agreed to an additional hour of service to remove the new batteries and continue the investigation of why the cart doesnt run. My logic behind this decision is lets find out what needs to be replaced. You would think that an Authorized EZ-GO repair facility can, after 400.00 changes hands, tell me exactly what is wrong with my cart. Nope. I am told it probably is the controller. In addition there is an issue with this models controller and the retrofit part costs 1800.00 and they will have to figure out the wiring at an additional labor charge. Helpful Right? Not really. So here I am diving into the controller issue on this cart and find rebuild facilities for the controller (Under 600.00 with warranty), replacement controllers new (Under 600.00 with warranty) all making my original parts plug and play. So I ask myself how did I become more educated than the Authorized Service Department who does not want to explain my options other than this is a money pit. I have read the other negative posts here and each is criticized the poster about omitted information and only part of the story. I encourage the owner, who would not make himself available yesterday, to chime in here and explain what part of this is omitted, or misrepresented. Explain how you can sell a product be the service guy and say to your customer it was a bad year or model. Dont take your older cart to these guys. Ill be sure to post video links of my running cart and happy Mother in-law in weeks to come.

We were sent a cart that sat in the corner of the yard. At first, it would not hold a charge. We called, repair guy indicated that all 6 batteries in the cart were probably bad. He replaced only three and did not bother coming back. We got upset and they came again. Finally it sort of worked. Also one tire deflated all the time after three or four days. When I indicated that some kind of refund would be a nice gesture. I pretty much got laughed at. My recommendation for this place is stay away.

My husband and I have been looking for a new golf cart a few months ago and stopped by Golf Coast Golf Cars last week to see what they could offer. When we came in, they were busy but helped us right away. They have a nice selection of all different kinds of golf carts (new and used) from the major manufacturers. Most of their inventory is EZGO. We already had a good idea of what we wanted, so it didnt take long to choose a cart. We test-drove a few carts around the lot and then decided on a fully-loaded 2019 EZGO Freedom TXT. We had done our research and were very pleased with the price we got as well as the extra features. Their showroom is modern and clean, their sales people know their products, and the owner did our paperwork himself. Everyone was very courteous and professional. They even invited us to play a quick putting game in their showroom after we were done. They delivered our new cart to our house the very next day and took our old Club Car, which we traded in. We could not have asked for a better experience and will continue to go to here for our future golf cart needs.

They will not stand behind their products. We bought a golf cart and charger less than six months ago. In two months batteries had to be replaced and now the charger likely needs a new mother board. They want to charge us $80/hour to take a look at the charger to see what the problem is. Buyer beware!

Crooks Run!!! Brought my cart in for repair. It had an undersized forward and reverse switch that had melted. They replaced it with the same size. First trip it got hot so I took it back. Doug agreed they put the wrong part on but refused to give a credit for any of the $420 charge. Half a dozen other dealers with in 5 miles. Stay away from Golf Coast Golf Cars!!!Since Rick took time to write a 12 point story I would like to follow. 1st Rick refused to talk to me. Dougs response when I requested to do so Rick said you started with him you finish it. 2nd On the third go-round they claim that my problem was because of a high speed motor that was installed on the golf cart. Well no kidding, street legal golf carts have them. It is classified as a slow moving vehicle. The requirements include but not limited to; FDOT windshield with wipers, turn signals, head lights, seatbelts, horn, large triangle reflector on the back and the dead giveaway a license plate. All of these items are visible just by looking at the golf cart. 3rd On the very first visit I suggested that instead of replacing the FnR switch we install and switch i.e. solenoid switch. They quickly said no that would be to expensive. So I authorized them to change the FnR switch. On the first trip it got hot. I called them after doing some research and requested they changed it out for a heavy duty one which I found was available. They refused. I let a friend take his kids home in it (1 mile trip). FnR burned up and left them stranded and me back to where I started from just $420 poorer. 4th the final phone call resulted in Rick still refusing to talk to me (obviously because his company was at fault otherwise why not speak with me) Doug laughing at me over the phone because I was so upset. 5th I hired an attorney who sent a demand letter. They responded by sending a signed receipt from when I picked it up. Finacial matter is still not currently resolved. After very little research I have learned that street legal carts must have a solenoid system in order to operate properly. Electric load is too heavy for FnR switches. This is what I suggested the very first time and was told it was too expensive. I purchased all the parts online for $350 another $30 for wiring and installed it myself. Cart works perfectly now. They still claim they didnt know it had a high speed motor and controller. Anyone can look a the the cart and know it is street legal for reason I mentioned above and if you want to believe that they didnt not know then they make my case for me, they are incompetent. At the very least stick you head under the cart and read the voltage/amps on the motor.

Overly priced. Called the competitor (a mile down the road) after I purchased the $20 switch just too check prices and it was $2.70 there... Reason I went here was because they opened at 7:30 instead of 8 like the competitor. Will not be returning here...
