Took in my 2500 I managed to break the alternator and they fixed it no problem. the ac that was stuck at 1 for years and wouldnt work past 1 got fixed as well great job deff would recommend coming to D&R automotive! The owner and his workers are very professional!

I drop my truck off with a $300 to $400 quote, after dealing with the firkins Dodge dealership I was sitting in fear waiting for a phone call to tell me that it was gonna cost me significantly more, the joy I felt when they called me and told me he found it was only loose bolts, and it was only going to cost a fraction of the original estimate to fix my problem is unimaginable.I have some mechanic skills myself, and it doesn’t take much for me to figure out that he could’ve lied to me, charged me full price, and do nothing and easily gotten away with it. Instead they did their job right and earned my trust and my business as long as I live in Sarasota.

I have used D and R for everything from tire repairs and replacements to a recent water pump failure. I brought my newer car in with a coolant leak, which turned out to be water pump failure. Thankfully I took it when when I did. They took the car in and had everything fixed up within a day and a half despite how much work the job took. They called me with updates and pricing every time something changed and were kind and understanding through the entire process. Extremely nice guys that work very hard to get the job done on time regardless of the difficulty.

I was from out of town and had problem with my truck driver side tire. Took it to them, they got right on it. They found the problem out right away. It was tire. We put spare on . I said how much, the guy said buy. You dont see that today.

I realized I had a screw in a tire at about 4:45 p.m. Ron got me right in, patched the tire and I was out the door before 5:30pm the same day. Very appreciative! How many other places are going to provide service like that? None! Thank you D & R Automotive!

I found D & R because they serviced fleet vehicles for the company where I worked. Their service is outstanding and their prices are very reasonable. It is hard for a woman to find a good, trustworthy and respectful auto shop and D&R never disappoints. They will never try to tell you that some service is needed when it isnt, but they also let you know if they see something that bears watching. There are very few places in Sarasota that have TOTALLY lost my trust but, D&R can be solidly added to the list!After personally replacing the timing belt on my Volvo, I realized that the starter called for a replacement too. The car wasnt running. I was in the process of clearing the area in preparation to do the swap myself but ran out of time. I chose this place because the quote was affordable and he stated that the repair would only take an hour. Lets do it!After a few days, imagine my surprise when I call them only to be told that the starter wasnt the issue. I was told that the new start was then taken back off and the original was replaced... Wasnt the original repair to have been a starter replacement??? Why didnt anyone call to advise me of the situation and let me decide if I wanted to keep the starter or not? And who takes the time to take out a starter, replace it and then remove it again to put the original back yet, only charges for 15 minutes??? Thats at LEAST 2 hours of work. I took a picture of the engine because it looks exactly as it did when it was delivered to them! I have always worked on my vehicles and kept them all on the road with no issues. From Audis to Mercedes, BMWs to Land Rover... Im no stranger to an engine bay. I simply didnt have the time to do this job and work between Clearwater and Sarasota.And the dismissive attitude as I expressed my disbelief... Who does that?!? Theyll never have to see me again and I would advise anyone to look elsewhere for trustworthy service!!!NEVER AGAIN!

This place has been around a long time. I know a couple people who have had vehicles worked on here so I brought my truck in for a starter replacement and they did a great job. It was done in a few hours and the price was very fair. I will definitely be going back.

I’ve been going to D&R for 5 years, since relocating from up north. It’s hard to find honest, good mechanics especially when your so far from home. Danny & Ronny run a really good business. Fair price, good quality work and never unexpected charges.I made a big mistake to use a mechanic just one mile from my house, since my car was running so rough. I paid $400 and within 24 hours my car broke down completely. They charged $110 for diagnostic and told me they were sure the car would be safe and running without problems. Wrong!I had it towed to D&R the next day. They were shocked to find what it was but fixed it for under $50. It’s running great now! I cant say enough about this car repair place. My dad has used them for years. I recently stopped in with his car to have something checked out and they recognized that it was my dads car but that, uncharacteristically, he wasnt the one bringing it in. They knew hed been ill, asked about him, and were genuinely upset to hear that he wasnt doing well. They checked out what turned out to be a very minor issue immediately and had me on my way, refusing to charge me because dad was such a long time customer. I rarely encounter such authentically friendly service.

We were on vacation in lido beach and noticed the brakes rubbing .looked up a good and close auto repair to have them fixed .they repaired the brakes and also showed me a bad oil leak on oil pan where I had hit a speed ramp to fast in lido beach . it was pouring oil. They replaced it. They did a good job and at a fair price. They are efficient and get repairs done in a timely period.I found out they are a well known repair shop in Sarasota and I would recommend them.

The place seemed ok. Fair pricing. They failed to include a charge on the receipt, so it made it look like I was overcharged for 1 service, but they had just forgotten to put it on the paper.

Im a new customer and this is how my first experience went at D & R. A co-worker recommended this shop so when my battery stopped holding a charge I called them up. Ronnie told me to bring my car in immediately but I would have to leave it. Before heading out the door Ronnie asked me if I needed a ride to work but I already had someone coming to get me. Before my ride could even get there Ronnie came out to tell me he had already run the diagnostics and that I just needed a new battery -- which he could install in a few minutes. Twenty minutes later I was on my way back to the office and the cost of the battery was very reasonable. Needless to say -- thats how you get new customers to become long-time customers. This is the most honest automotive repair center Ive ever experienced. My daughter is in Sarasota doing an internship and had some problems with her truck starting. All indicators pointed to the fuel pump. They refused to change it until they were sure. They researched for a few days and found out that it was a $20.00 relay! Problem solved. Ron is a sales man through and through, said with Respect as Ive been there. Yet, the 2 and a half weeks to fix my car was a bit ridiculous. The constant pushing the date back, the price increases, and the inability to listen to whats being said by a customer is why I comment. I said I only wanted what was needed done for the passenger front tire, new tire, and if breaks were bad change those. How is it I have manaed to locate a car compatible with my own in less time and less cost while he hasnt fulfilled his end even once?/ Upon researching my vehicle and diagnostic options, Ron has scammed me. By not testing my vehicles malfunction he couldnt have been able to diagnose the problem appropriately. He continuely pushed my fix date back. Also flipping back and forth from 5-600 to 1100 for the fix. I am severely disappointed. Oh and I checked my car to find stuff missing out of it. Seriously? Youre a mechanic shop, what do you need a BS jack for?

Great shop.... had maxx suspension lift leveling kit installed on my 2500hd. Guy quote me at a lower price, When i called!not realizing, my kit envolved differential and shock spacers. When truck was finished he explained that manufacturer quoted @ 4 hrs for this install. And asked if we could meet in the middle. Ended up only charging for 2.5 hrs. His mechanics time. AAA.Swear truck rides better. And they reset my tire sensors for free.Highly recommend

This shop is a shining light in a town full of terrible shops. I took my old car to various shops in town including a certain Ford dealer where they charge an arm and a leg and my car came back to me in worse shape than it was when I brought it in. These guys dont do that. They do good honest, high quality work for a fair and reasonable price. I will not take my cars anywhere else. There is a reason they are so busy all the time it is because they are the best shop in town. They work with your budget and dont try to manipulate you into paying for things you dont need. If they do make a mistake correcting it becomes the number one priority. There is no need to take your car anywhere else.

Went to this shop while on the tail end of my vacation. Ended up with worse news than I was expecting for the work that needed to be done but they offered honest feedback and worked with me to get the parts in same day and had me out of town when I needed to be. Called a few other places price wise and D&R’s price was very fair compared to others.

Did grwat work getting started after it stalled. Spark plugs were baked, however, WITHOUT talomg me for a scmuck on the estimate. Car was back om the road in 2 hours. P Arts and labor. $ 150. Christian mechanics.
