We went into Walgreens pharmacy on Zia Road in Santa Fe, NM to pick up a prescription, this medication was not covered by our insurance and a pharmacy tech and the pharmacist (Elizabeth) did everything they could to bring the out of pocket price down so that we could actually afford it. Their professionalism really shined and we would not have been able to afford the medication with out them. Thank you so very much! What a team!
Worse customer service I have seen in awhile ...went to cosmetics and no one was there ok no problem I go to front registers and ask a young girl if someone can be called to cosmetics she may have been a manager as she had a walkie or whatever they use to speak to each other she calls someone I go wait ...no one comes continue to wait still no one finally I just go to pay she does ask if someone came I told her no and I had to leave ...she doesnt offer to help me get the locked item or even apologize. Then the young guy on the other register tells me In a rude tone he can help me on that side the tone he spoke was just rude I paid for my items he didnt even say your welcome after I thanked him . Completely lost a customer with thier attitudes and lost sales due to her not even offering to help me ...worse wal greens Ive been to and will not return with the kind of customer service that was given wasted my time and didnt get get the product I needed.
At age 90+ I, embarrassedly, needed a little help finding and retrieving the itemsI needed...at the Zia location...Employee Martha could not have been nicer and morethoughtful and helpful.Give that lady a raise!L.D.
They had what I needed and not crowded.
I made an appointment for 11:45 and arrived at 11:40 as instructed. I waited nearly an hour and ended up just leaving.
I went into this Walgreens location a bit back just buy some small things I needed, once I was in line, behind about five other people, the cashier had to call up the manager. It took the manager over twenty-five minutes and three calls from the cashier to finally come to the register creating a lot of frustration among myself and other customers, most of which walked out; I tried to be patient. The manager was belittling to the cashier and acted annoyed that the cashier called her up. Once I was nearing the register I heard a customer check out and once the woman and her son left I heard the managers say to the cashier she probably stole makeup, she always does. Along with overhearing more vile comments about other customers from a manager. My whole time in the store I only ever saw that one cashier who looked to be juggling five different tasks while trying to maintain a register, and when I did see a manger they were full of attitude, usually emerging from the back. Was never approached or asked if I needed help. When I tried to use my debit card the card reader was broken. I have never seen an establishment with such horrible management. Ive had horrid experiences with the Pharmacy as well. I heard the woman in line directly in front of me ask for someone to be called to the Pharmacy because she said she had been waiting at the Pharmacy and never once was helped. Do yourself a favor, go to the other Walgreens in Santa Fe, do NOT do your business with this location. I drive way out of my way just to take my business to a better Walgreen.
The people at the pharmacy are EXTREMELY INCOMPETENT. I had a prescription to be filled here and was sent a notification that there was an issue with my insurance and Id need to come down with my card. I had just had a prescription filled there so I wasnt sure why this would be happening. Asked them to run it again and there was no problem the second time. So they just ran it, it had an error and they didnt even bother to try again. Then I went and got my prescription, but when I got home I discovered I was missing one prescription. I called back and they told me my insurance wouldnt cover it, I said Ill pay out of pocket, no problem. So again, why was I not told this before when I called or when I went in to pick it up? Well guess what, another problem arose! They called back this time to tell me that my prescription had been faxed in and that it didnt have my name on it so they couldnt fill it. The worst part of all of this, if they had bothered to inform me and of the previous times I called or went in then we still could have had my doctor send in another request. But by the time they did finally call and acknowledge the problem, my doctors office was closed so now I have to wait another day to get medicine crucial to pain relief. Im never sending my prescriptions here again and anyone else reading this should avoid doing the same! One or two mistakes is one thing, but this is just ridiculous! My only wish is that I could leave zero stars, because even one is to many for this terrible business.
Entered Friday and headed quickly for the section I wanted. An employee ran after me and treated me like I was a shoplifter, hovering over me when I reached the item I needed. I left without purchasing the item and will never return. (I got the same item for less than half the price at another store.) . This is the second bad experience Ive had at this store. About 15 years ago I was picking up some extremely expensive medication that came in a box. Before leaving the counter, but moving to side so the pharmacy clerk could handle the next person, I opened the box and discovered that about 3/4 of the medication was missing. They were very defensive and tried to suggest that I had left the counter and secreted away the missing drugs. As I hadnt left the counter and all the people waiting on line behind me were my witnesses, they grudgingly gave me the rest of the medication. That was the last time I used the pharmacy at this location.
Found what I needed.
A manager followed my boyfriend and I around the store the whole time we shopped ...then she walked behind the counter in photos and asked if we were ready to check out. We said yes and 30 sec. Later she said Ill be right back, and walked away..we were confused and embarrassed then instantly became angry and felt stereotyped for sure. We turned around and walked towards the front register as we were going to do so in the first place, but quickly felt we should spend our money elsewhere, where we would feel welcomed and not presumed as criminals. We left the merchandise in the store and walked to our vehicle. We were driving away when we noticed the lady manager along with two male managers standing outside the store looking for us, for unknown reasons?. Very humiliating and disrespectful place to stop and purchase everyday items. I would not recommend. Stay away from Walgreens on Richards as well! Even worse of a shopping experience. Law enforcement gets called before approached by employees.
Have not used the pharmacy, so this review is only for the store. The people that work there are nice enough, generally quite friendly in fact. The reason I dont often shop there anymore is that it is so poorly run. I used to shop there regularly. But out of a list of say 10 things I needed, it was almost a guarantee that they would be out of at least 2 or 3 of those. Albertsons is right across the street and youll have better luck getting what youre looking for.
Mismanagement of pharmacy department.
I like everything except the pharmacy. The pharmacy is inexplicably slow. Sometimes you will be waiting and they will be standing around talking and laughing. I cannot believe how long the lines are because everyone is so slow. Otherwise I love the store and everyone has always been nice to me there and I could always find what I wanted.
In late May 2019 they under-filled a prescription and I had to sort it out with the head pharmacist. It was a battle, but she finally checked further and realized it was the pharmacy’s fault and not mine. They always also have a habit of being out of stock of medications as well. This is a poorly run pharmacy and I’m thinking about transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Avoid this pharmacy.
Called the pharmacy to find out info on flu and shingles shots. Was put on hold immediately. After 3 min phone rang several times until finally someone answered. Understaffed!
I would give Walgreens/Zia pharmacy zero (0) stars if I could, but my review wont post unless I give it one star. I have tried five times now to get my prescription filled. All five times the pharmacist has told me that the prescription was ready. The last time was today. If I hadnt called the pharmacist to confirm, I would have sat in line for 30-45 minutes, only to find out that the prescription is still missing. Today she said that she would fill it for me, and it would be ready to pick up today. I told her to verify for me that it was in stock, fill it for me it for me, and call me back when it is ready. The pharmacist called me back, telling me that the med was on manufacturers back order. I should have been notified of this when I called for the refill a month ago. But no, I had to sit in line four times. The pharmacist told me today that she does have the same medication in stock, but the dosing is different than the prescription states, so she has to call my doctor before she can fill it for me. What do you think my chances are of getting this prescription filled? Answer: Slim to none, and Slim just left town! I hope that anyone new to Santa Fe reads this review and all the other Google reviews before using this pharmacy. It has made my life miserable, and as soon as possible Im going to switch to another that is willing and able to meet my needs.
Love this Walgreens! Always super helpful when I got to get my prescription medication. Also, for anything else, they got it!
Placed on hold then told to call back.
The front staff and store manager are wonderful--in the 2 years I have used this store they have always been helpful and friendly. I couldnt ask for better! The pharmacy struggles however--Im not sure why. The pharmacist himself is very nice and helpful but the staff back there occasionally make mistakes and often is slow, and at times their attitude can be annoying. Just not sure how to fix it! And I wont take the usual well, thats how it is in New Mexico because thats rubbish. Its all about training and strong pharmacy management-- and from a corporate point of view, incentives to do well. Listen up!
I tried to pick up my prescription several time. After 45 minute wait I had to leave each time. They lost my prescription. They lied about calling my doctor for a new prescription. They gave me the run around. They were rude and at the end I had to close my business for the afternoon just to make a new appointment to obtain a new prescription and Walgreens was awful threw the 3 week ordeal this situation went on for. Worse walgreen location ever. Air port location needs new training.
This place is the third best and worst location. The staff is always harassing me to take my backpack off and leave it in front of the store. The waiting time for prescriptions are long usually. But it is close to the translation.
This branch had messed up my prescription for times now. Each time the employees have been rude and hostile. The automated system will inform me that my prescription is ready to be picked up, yet, when I arrive they never have it. On one occasion the pharmacy tech told me she did not consider my medications essential. I am no longer going to be shopping at Walgreens.
Very busy place. Too much traffic to have any personal touch. Very slow pharmacy.
This location is the most unpleasant, unprofessional, rude, and prejudice pharmacy that I have ever encountered in the state of New Mexico. Even the managers will hang up on you when you have questions. We have only stayed with this pharmacy because of their location but we will now be using another. Find another pharmacy!
Pharmacy was fine, got me what I needed.
Personally the management seemed rude and unprofessional. I asked where something was and the manager just seemed upset about me not knowing where something was.
Pharmacy is Garbage!!!!!! Pharmacy is Garbage!!!!! Do not use this location. The pharmacists are extremely unorganized and very rude. This is the third time I visit this location, and the first two times I waited over 45 minutes in the drive-up (inside was longer) to drop off a prescription. Yes! I waited 45 minutes to drop off a prescription. All three times I had prescriptions filled, they were not ready when the I showed up to pick up my meds.I was recently diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis of the hips(bilateral). Anyone that googles this conditions finds that it is a very rare case, and the pain levesl are through the roof. My femurs are dying, they have tiny little fractures on the femoral head on both sides. So you can imagine how painful it is, its weight bearing, which means I cant walk at night... SO I have to piss in a plastic jug every night because the pain is too severe to stand(I fall and hit the ground). So now that we know about my condition, my diagnosis is also on the prescription, so any uneducated pharmacist can google the condition just like we can and see whats going on. My doctor and I started with a very low dose of painkillers, but due to the severity of my condition, the small amounts arent doing the trick. My doctor has upped my pain meds every month. Here is why you should never use this Pharmacy!!!!! It is so bad today, that my parents have to run around and do all my prescriptions etc. The doctor prescribed me an oxymoron time release 10 mg pill along with oxycodone 10 mg instant release. The pharmacists had the nerve and audacity to ACCUSE ME OF FILLING MY PReSCRIPTION AT ANOTHER PHARMACY!!!!!Did you all read this right? The pharmacist accused me of filling the prescription at another pharmacy. I though Pharmacist were supposed to be educated individuals? Obviously you cant depend on a pharmacist at this location to approach a situation with respect and dignity. The fact alone that I was accused of filling my perscription at another location is not only ludacris, but a reason why many other people should not use this pharmacy. I had to track my doctor down at his place of residence(dont ask how I did this and he wasnt happy about it) so that he could place a phone call to this extremely uneducated pharmacist 30 minutes before closing and I dont have any meds.BTW - did I mention my doctor leaves on vacation for 2 weeks tomorrow and I was his last appointment to get my meds refilled today. So, Do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT USE THIS PHARMACY. They had my prescription in their hands since 4:00 and it took them until 9:30 to notify me. I have no pain meds left - the sign on their window says NOT and I repeat NOT to return meds to this location, so I threw my old ones away(aceteminophene was causing liver issues). And she accused my of NOT returning them to the location. These people can eat a fat D!@7 - Id you know what I mean. I have my friend digging through the trash bin looking for my old meds becauase I cant stand or walk because of my bone disease.Talk about unprofessional, unorganized and un educated pharmacists. The fact that the pharmacist can see my diagnosis on the prescription and had the nerve to accuse me of committing a felony is fu$%ing ridiculous. I make six figures a year also, and I am not a pharmacist, but unlike them, I am educated. My business will never go to a Walgreens pharmacy again!!!!!
Just plain rude. The pharmacy is rude too. We had to take our business to Sams club. The pharmacy at Walgreens took forever and didnt have the medicine that the doctor sent in. Another time, they had other meds that I was supposed to take, but they said that it wasnt covered by Medicaid. The doctor told my husband and I that it was covered. I ended up taking the generic brand. They did the same thing to my husband too with him having to take the generic brand meds. Also, when ur on the phone with them trying to see how much soda is there, they put u on hold and forget that ur on the phone all together. Rudeness.
Im not going to bother telling my entire horror story (too angry to even type that much out), but heres the short version. I am on a controlled substance that I have been prescribed for years that I am physically addicted to, for pain, under a physicians supervision (I wont go into the particulars, but without it, the chronic pain would probably have me crazy or dead. Being addicted is horrible, but better than being dead, I have kids). Ive been (legitimately) disabled for years and had to have reconstructive surgeries and my spine fused due to being pinned in a vehicle on a rural highway after being struck by one of NMs ubiquitous uninsured, unlicensed drunk drivers (thanks, state legislature! WAY TO DO YOUR JOB! The guy who hit me had three prior DUIs- but we cant protect our citizens, only can protect the interests of certain protected citizens- but I digress). My Doctor is in Albuquerque. Because this is a controlled substance, I jump through lots of hoops. The medication is also very expensive, and I pay out of pocket for it several hundred dollars a month. I had been going to this Walgreens for about a year after moving from Silver City to Santa Fe. On a Thursday morning, I returned from my Doctor in ABQ and went straight to the pharmacy. They told me they didnt have the meds in stock, but would have it Friday afternoon. Fine, I said, as I had enough to carry me til Saturday evening. I left my prescription with them so they could fill it on arrival of their shipment (not uncommonly done), and I went home. I returned Friday around four p.m. to be told they didnt have any record of the prescription.... either a hard copy or a record of it having been entered into the computer. I was calm as I explained that this was disastrous, as my doctor is only in his office WED-FRI and that the only way I could replace it was via another appointment. The tech was rude, the pharmacist who was then called over was ruder and UNBELIEVABLY nasty and dismissive, behaving as if I was trying to hustle them, when they could easily see from my state database records that I have been on this medication and filled it like clockwork monthly FOR YEARS. The following Monday was a holiday. I spent the remaining hour of Friday afternoon before five p.m. frantically trying to reach my doc in ABQ. The problem is, partially due to new laws to prevent prescription fraud and abuse, this is a HARD COPY ONLY prescription. Doctors cant call it in anymore, so the only solution was to try and make another appointment or rush down there to get another watermarked, numbered and signed script. I didnt reach him. I ended up in violent withdrawal and being hospitalized with seizures, severe vomiting and diahrrea leading to dehydration, hallucinations, etc. I could have died, and had to spend three days hospitalized at the wonderful St. Victims while the hospital gave me my meds I.V.. THIS PHARMACY WILL KILL YOU AND SNEER AND SNARL AT YOU THAT IT IS YOUR FAULT. AVOID THIS PLACE. I CANNOT EVEN DESCRIBE TO YOU THE HELL THIS INCOMPETENT, POSSIBLY CORRUPT, PHARMACY CAUSED MY FAMILY AND I. There is a real pharmacy across the road at Albertsons, use it. They even remember me by face and name there at Albertsons. They know that if I am instantly withdrawn from these meds it can be highly dangerous. We are currently considering a lawsuit against Walgreens and their parent company. AND THIS WAS JUST THE FINAL STRAW. We had ALREADY had so many problems at this Walgreens, that its partially my fault for not fleeing their criminal incompetence sooner. Dont let this happen to you. ...and this is the short version.
Love this Walgreens but for the Pharmacy Tech who is so unprofessional. She is rude to customers acts like she hates people and hates herself. For that matter. Avoid her for sure !!!
Quick shopping visits and good prices. Nothing else to note.
In my experience, the pharmacy is never adequately staffed. Long waits.
Rude pharmacy and very slow, I would steer clear as they will just get you more frustreated
After I fill my prescriptions on the app or online I get an email telling me when its ready, when I get to the store Im often told to come back at 5:00pm or an hour or two later. If its not ready why send me an email telling me it is? You waste both my time and your time. The staff at the pharmacy is unorganized and often rude.
I got there to get some medicine for my son. While I am reading the instructions of one medicine, one staff picked up one opened box one the ground and rudely asked me whether I open it . I told her it is not me but she did not say any apology to me. It is a really bad experience.
Great place thanks
