These guys are the best. In town for a visit. Came in and got an e-bike for me, liked it so much came back to get one for GF, then back again for more accessories. Mike (owner) is incredibly helpful and accommodating. Also got to know Nathan, Paul, Paulie, Julian, & JJ, because these guys are all about being helpful. Love this place. I had a couple of bikes in storage that had not been used in 3 plus years. I took them in for a tune up and was blown away by the quick repairs and the fact that they did only what was truly needed. Plus the kind service. I plan to return to purchase a new bike in the fall. Highly recommend!

I had actually broken a spoke they found a spoke and sent me on my way. Luckily I worked on my bike in the back lot so when I had a problem they stepped in and fixed it.

My last bike was when I was like 10 so I didnt know what to get but after telling Paulie what kind of ridding i was planning on doing with the bike he recommended 3 bikes, of the 3 two were in my price range so we took them outside and he let me test drive them both before deciding on one. Much appreciated.

Mike, the owner clued me into an minor issue with a bike rack’s compatibility with my truck. He did this after I had paid for it and ordered it in to the shop. They could have simply given it to me to deal with headache of figuring out the issue on my own. Instead he pointed it out and gave me options. He gave me a full refund and advice regarding which racks would be better options for my truck. I’m really happy to support a local business that cares to get people the right gear they want. I’ll be a longtime customer. Love having a great bike shop in town. I highly recommend these guys.

I went in to get my break fixed, and was given amazing service! The employee we spoke to was very knowledgeable and gave very clear explanations of what they would have to do to fix my bike. They got the job done very quickly, and we were only charged $25. That’s an amazing deal compared to the other shops we’ve been to that charge an arm and a leg. Definitely take your bike here for great service and reasonable prices!

Broken Spoke is my favorite bike shop in town. I am a regular there for a reason. Their service is consistently good and they are experts in everything from vintage to modern bicycles. Some shops arent interested in dealing with you unless you are there to buy a $4000 bike, and could care less if you just want to buy some cables and maybe a patch kit or something. Not so at the Broken Spoke. If youre not rich, you are still treated well. They appreciate the die-hard blue collar mtn biker too. Everyone at the shop rides mountain bikes, so its a good source for trail conditions and other riding info. Youll get an honest appraisal before any repair work is done, and the quality of the work is good. In comparison to other local shops, the labor rates are really fair. I would suggest these guys to locals and travelers alike.

Best LBS in town. Great bunch of bike-loving people who take care of you. They dont exist to just sell or fix bikes; they want to make sure you are satisfied, and they demonstrate it with top quality work.

I have been there twice for repairs and very pleased each time. There are always lots of customers, but each time a staff member greeted and helped me almost immediately. The repair work (tires) was quick and while I waited, lasting and there were no upsell attempts. The price for the work was reasonable, as contrasted with some other bike shops in town. Its my go-to place now and I recommend The Broken Spoke.

Seriously, the best bike shop in Santa Fe! ( And one of the best bike shops Ive ever had the pleasure of working with). The shop has a great laid back, casual vibe... Without being so laid back, that you cant get any help. All of the staff are friendly, and knowledgeable, ready to help you with anything from a new tube; to buying a new bike. On that topic, they have a great selection of bikes of all sorts... Ranging from an around town commuter, to trail bikes to Bikepacking specific bikes. Hey also have a great selection of gear and clothing .. anything you need to kit yourself out with. I know it may sound like an ad, but really... If your new in town, or just looking for a better bike shop experience; you should drop in and busy the Broken Spoke.

This place is obviously rated high, but I won’t be rating it that way. So I’m not from here and came into this place hoping it was a good experience, that was not the case. They barely acknowledged me. They had no clue about anything as far what I was looking for nor did they even try to provide good customer service skills to see what my needs were. all I can say I would never return to this place ever again. Not sure if I was being judged or what, but thats not good business. I ride a 6k dollar bike, I wasn’t afraid to spend money. As long as I get good service. It’s this place loss not mine. A customer shouldn’t have to walk into a business and do all the talking. Just a tip. Good luck in the future with the service you provide.

I was cycling long distance when I broke my tire pump in rural New Mexico. The first shop I called told me they only sold in store - no shipping. I called The Broken Spoke next. Michael was very patient in selecting and shipping a quality pump to my motel in Santa Rosa. I let him decide which pump best met my needs. and had the pump in hand at 10 the next morning and ready to resume my ride. Great service!

The staff at The Broken Spoke quickly helped me with a problem I was having with the dropper post on my mountain bike. Even though they were busy, my bike was ready the same day, and Clint demonstrated how I might avoid the problem in the future. My sister and I were in town for one night and needed some help fine tuning our bikes for a ride. Time was limited, so we popped in for some new tubes and adjustments to our bikes.Dillon and the rest of the guys there were extremely helpful and went over and above to get us on the road. They gave us great tips on rides in the area.I would definitely recommend them as the go-to shop! Wish they were in our area.

Im a local.. over the years, Ive tried all the others, and this whole crew is absolutely the best... always attentive, friendly, smiling, and they get the job done right the first time. They never push you to buy things, and they have an absolutely huge selection of all types of bikes.

Had my mountain bike repaired here in July and my road bike just today. They turned around a drive train repair in one day, way awesome. Staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. I will be back for tuneups and other repairs as needed. Highly recommended

Bike boxing service: exceptional! My wife and I needed our bikes boxed up to fly with us back to the UK. Having no US mobile phones, I dropped these guys an email enquiring about boxing, if they could do it etc. and received a response within minutes.Moreover when I dropped off the bikes, even though Mike (who I’d been emailing) wasn’t there, his team was aware I was coming and we’re ready to receive the bikes.Due to unforeseen circumstances I couldn’t collect my bikes when I’d planned - but they didn’t have an issue with storing the bikes for an extra day for me.Lastly, having had a really bad experience with a UK company who failed miserably at packing my bikes for the outbound journey, I cheekily opened one of the boxes to check. I needn’t have worried. The bike really had been packed like it was their own personal bike.I cannot fault anything with the team, service or pricing at the Broken Spoke. Top business! Thanks for taking care of my toys!

This shop does excellent service/repair work! I had the suspension on my superlight 29 overhauled by them earlier this year and was very pleased with the results. They always complete service and return my bike running great on-time and ready to hit the trail. The fact that the SF Police Dept and Outside Magazine trust them to provide regular service and build demo bikes is a testament to their professionalism and reliability.

After a not-so-good experience at another shop, I decided to give Broken Spoke a try.As soon as I walked in, I knew that these were the guys I wanted working on my bike. Hard-core bike wrenches, through-and-through. Super-nice, very friendly and helpful, chill vibe in the shop. They took the time to thoroughly examine the issue, went the extra mile with diagnosis and troubleshooting, and genuinely cared about whether the problem was solved.Great experience; highly recommended!

The shop is very nice and they have some cool bikes but stay away from their inner tube they sale : I bought three and they were all defectives. That is outrageous when you need them in the middle of nowhere and really not responsible to sale this in a mountain bikes shop.

Best bike shop I have ever patronized. The entire staff is not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable...a valuable combination, indeed! Dylan spent 15 minutes, sight unseen, with me on the phone on a busy Saturday discussing a custom wheel set. Luke, Jet, and Owen helped me with other aspects of my build. During the time I spent in the shop, I watched them treat EVERY customer, whether they were purchasing a $2K titanium frame or just getting some air, with the same respect and attention. Im from the SF Bay Area, and ordered a Trek 920 for delivery to The Broken Spoke, so I could tour a portion of the Continental Divide Trail. I arrived at the shop with a large duffel bag containing 4 pannier bags, and the shop crew had my bike ready to roll. After a 20 minute set up, I was out the door, and on my way. Amazing service!!

After driving from Canada thru Texas and New Mexico.We went to the shop to hopefully get a part for a bike rack that had a problem. What we got was far more. We got a fix for our rack, directions for the trail system a discount on some small parts we needed. We couldnt have found a better place to get help and friendly helpful service and advice.

Terrific bike education and buying experience! Being new to trail riding, I stopped in at The Broken Spoke several times just to learn more about the sport. Mike (owner) was always incredibly helpful and willing to discuss bikes, technology, etc. After several visits, I rented (high quality) trail bikes for my 11 yo daughter and myself, so we could try them on some of the local trails. We loved it! The following week, I went into the shop again and worked with Kevin (expert member of the staff) who helped me pick out a bike; however, they didnt have the model (Trek Stache 5) in my frame size on the floor, only disassembled in inventory. He said he would put it together for me to try, which he did. When I stopped in to try it, it was on Kevins day off so Sarah (another expert member of the staff) stepped in and was equally helpful, helping me decide between the Stache 5 29+ (which I ultimately chose) and other comparably priced quality bikes for a trail riding novice like myself. Sarah then helped me look at bikes for my daughter, and we found several options. My daughter and I returned the following day, and she test-rode several bikes for the better part of an hour. My daughter ultimately chose a Jamis Komodo Sport 27.5+. Sarah was incredibly helpful in choosing the right frame, proper seat adjustment, etc. Once the bikes were chosen, the shop did a great job prepping them for the trails. They also offer a free checkup on the bike after 20 hrs of usage. Given I was buying two bikes, Mike was very generous in giving me a great price (better price than some of the mega-stores in ABQ) as well as a strong trade in value for my daughters Cannondale road bike. Great store - from the owner to the employees, they are all passionate about cycling, and they want to share that passion and joy with customers, making sure that they have a terrific experience.
