The owner, Eric is absolutely amazing. I brought my car to 6 different shops. Each one told me different problems and quoted up to thousands of dollars in repairs. A friend suggested I go see Eric at Ainsworth and I couldnt be more grateful. He took about 5 minutes with my car, replaced a small part he had in stock for $15 and the problem is fixed! My car is running great and I will never go to any other mechanic ever again! I didnt realize how hard it was to find an honest mechanic. It makes me wonder how much Ive been ripped off for in the past. Dont get taken advantage of... Him and his team are so great and good people. 😌 😊 thank you for everything!! 🙏

I called prior to when I went in and it still took 2 hours for a smog. Kept getting some bs excuse that the mechanic had a client emergency and had to jump someone’s car but that takes two hours? Also on hour two I called and was told they were finishing it up but when I got there they hadn’t started. Still charged me the full $65 for a process that took 10 minutes when it was actually done. No remorse, no apologies, no discount. I’m SEVERELY dissatisfied.

TL;DR : They charged me $110 for 5 minutes worth of diagnostic...............I stopped into Ainsworth when my check engine light came on and my car (2001 ford focus) suddenly started wobbling and crawling in front of safeway. I had them read my code which was cylinder #4 misfire. I went home and replaced spark plugs and cables but still had the issue. I went back and asked them to check the coil pack but i was fearing a much more troublesome issue. They call me back several hours later and say my coil pack is bad... this was great news because its a cheap and easy fix compared to anything else it could have been. He wanted to charge me $400 to replace the $70 part. I went in to pick up my car and he charged me $110 for diagnostic. The coil pack is located in a easily accessible location and testing it only requires unplugging a spark plug cable and touching the leads with a multimeter.I brought the car home and replaced the coil pack myself with a screwdriver set and 20 minutes of my time. I will never return to ainsworth for the amount they charge for diagnostic is absurd.

These guys came through for me in a major pinch, and went above and beyond whats reasonable to help me out. Not only that but Eric pulled off some superb electrical troubleshooting- hes an excellent mechanic, hard to find someone this knowledgeable.

You should be very careful dealing with them if youd like to get their service. I personally got a really bad experience. They agreed to replace my old front caliper with a new one. But finally they just put its bracket on, and kept the main part for themselves. When I got my car back, likely I double check, and pointed out that the main part of the caliper is still the old one.. How tricky they are!! Again, be careful with Eric and John

Pros: Fast tune-ups and wonderfully courteous people. Communication was excellent once I was onsite.Cons:1. cost for oil change is more than double that of their competitors such as 10 – 8 automotive repair on mission2. They do not answer email, phones nor return email/yelp requests in my experience. If you show up you’ll likely get what you need. It’s hard to make ones schedule around this type of situation. For that reason I probably won’t use then for oil changes and tune-ups in the future.Be sure to ask for the little sticker that reminds you to get your next oil change. In my case they did not remember to place that on my car.I recommend as well going to Evernote app or whatever you use to organize yourself and put in a three month reminder that includes what mileage you were at when you last had your oil change. Do that as soon as yiu drop off you car at the oil change location. If you don’t have Evernote then tell Siri, or OK Google, to remind you to get an oil change at such and such mileage three months from now. They’re good about creating reminders.

I was a regular there before thecurrent owners tookover because its right down the street very convenient. After them taking over a month with no courtesy calls to keep me inform. It took so long because for 1 they werent organisedand 2,they had to find the past my car needed so it could be smoged. Theres a lot more to it than just this. But to sum it up it cost nearly 400 to have it eventually smoged. Roughly about 300 of that was just for them to do research on the computer to find the 3 dollar part. Then the rest to finally install it then smog it. This is not my only bad experience with them but it was one of the more irritating experience with them and my last one. I know some people have had great experience with them and they are the fortunate few. Basically they way over charge, and if youre not bringing in sobe fancy car they know theyll be making lots of money from you, I think they dont frankly care. Id happily drive across town to get work done on my car rather then drop it off at this place right down the street from my house. My last comment is that, it dont write comments. This place bothered me enough to do so and I hope I can save the next poor person the grief and expense I went through. I recommend wheel works down town for any car service, they are on point.
