This is the absolute best service center in Santa Barbara county! On my second visit I pulled up without an appointment, was greeted by my first name with a huge smile, and helped immediately. Then once the needs of my car was determined without any complications was given one of their site automobiles as a replacement. I wholeheartedly recommend that using Kennedy’s services will leave you driving away with peace of mind knowing that you and your car have been in exceptional hands!

This automotive center is awesome! Its owned and operated by a husband wife team. Angela greets you with the best personality and her husband has amazing knowledge! I hears a horrible metal sound rubbing and brought it in,,test drive revealed rotors and pads were bad. In minutes, I got a quote, a loaner and within a few hours, the job was done. This was on a Friday of the Labor day weekend!!! I own a 470LX Lexus and the mechanic knows the vehicle very well. Definitely would recommend this place!!!

Great garage run by great people.I was having issues with my Air Conditioning and looked up shops in the Santa Barbara area. The first place I called didnt work on A/C but referred me to Kennedys. When I pulled in I was greeted warmly by Angela and they were able to quickly take me in and start to diagnose the issue. Despite arriving close to their closing time, they still treated my vehicle with care and spent time to ensure quality detailed service. While they were unable to solve the issue, I still insisted on paying for their time and services anyway. If youre looking for a mechanic you can trust, look no further. Kennedys automotive is a cut above. Friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. I have a high-end Lexus they took care of that would have been so much more expensive at the dealership. It needed a huge service, and they worked with me on what I needed to do, what I should do, and what could wait. My car over heated and all lights came on it wa late in the day so was checking myself . The radiator hose had blown of and I was able to get back on in morning and took it to Kennedy’s.They were super kind Angela got me in immediately.The mechanic checked it out and was surprised the hose would pop off but put a second clamp and thought I’d be good to drive it home for my mechanic to work on.Didn’t charge me just said it was the courteous thing to do to get me on the road💛

Ive brought two different vehicles to Kennedys for separate issues and have been throughly satisfied. Each time I speak with Angela or Fidel, the proprietors, I get an honest assessment. I have never felt pressured or walked away feeling I was being up-sold. They run an efficient neighborhood shop with professionalism and warmth, and yes, this is THE place to get a quick smog check. I highly recommend them.Our minivan had a bad fuel pump; unfortunately our model requires accessing the pump through the cabin floor. Not only did they do the work, they deftly handled the chaos of a minivan usually occupied by four young children and had the car seats back in place upon pick up. More recently our sedan had a bad starter. While making the repair, they identified a bad oil leak and a handful of other maintenance items that needed to be addressed. While I didnt act on all of their suggestions, they still took the time to scrub my engine block clean (enough to eat off of) and even took my car through the wash! Twice! While I certainly dont expect such exceptional service every time, it is indicative of the kind of care they exhibit for their customers and the cars in their car. The team at Kennedys is solid. Theyll steer you right.

We were traveling through on a trip up the coast when our brakes started making horrible noises. Kennedy’s was not only open on a Saturday, but told us to come in right away! The service was awesome; fast, very friendly, and the tech took the time to show us and explain why we were having our issues. We were back on the road within an hour. Would highly recommend!!

I usually never leave reviews but this place was so professional, hard-working, and genuinely kind that I had to write something. As a young and inexperienced girl in unfamiliar area, taking my car to the mechanics was always a daunting task, but the people at Kennedys Automotive were so reassuring and honest that I did not doubt for a single second that they had my best interest in mind. They found numerous problems with my Chevy (name is Lucius) but went out of their way to fix as much as they could and still stay within my budget, and they got me my car back within 2 days, which is impressive considering the amount of work it needed. I will take Lucius only to them from now on for any problem it has, and I recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest mechanic. Go to Kennedys!!

WOW! THEY ARE SO GOOD! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!My wife and I were driving our Pleasureway from Astoria, Oregon to San Juan Capistrano, CA., making a short stop in Santa Barbara for a quick visit with family, when the engine died. I had it towed to Kennedys after doing a brief search on my phone for area mechanics. If you have ever been in a similar situation you know how completely daunting (and scary) that can be. There was something about talking with Angela on the phone that made it feel right to have it towed to this shop. Once there, talking to Fidel convinced me it was a good decision. That was just the beginning! They got the van late in the afternoon and I was really concerned because losing a day or more travel time was going to be a problem for our schedule. Fidel told me that if it was something that could be done in just a few hours, and if parts were available, that he would stay as late as necessary to fix it. Really!?! Havent we all heard, We close at 5:00! and been left to scramble as best we can? They were going to let us hook-up the motor-home and spend the night there, on the lot, if we wanted. But parts were available. And they did stay until it was finished. They had offered a loaner car, but I already had made other arrangements. Who does that!?!! We arrived safely home around midnight. I am so happy we met these hard-working, honest, lovable folks! You know, people who are kind, gracious, and honestly accommodating when you are in need are REALLY SPECIAL PEOPLE.

Wow, they are so fast and do a diverse business. They fixed my 1964 Mustang, and regularly service our old Lexus, our Toyota Highlander and our Honda Accord and last week they fixed my camper where the tire store knocked of some of the wheel well. They have great service and pricing! And they smog them all.

Kennedy Automotive has been outstanding. My car is a 2002 Toyota RAV4 and I drove it across the country when I moved here.. It was shaking terribly and I was told by a shop in VA before moving that it needed $1500 worth of repairs but they weren’t totally sure if that would fix the shaking and they were having a really hard time identifying the problem.. they had my car for a week.I took it to Kennedy Automotive and he was able to identify and completely fix the issue within a few hours.. turns out it just needed aligned.They have since done a lot of maintenance on my car and have always done an outstanding job. Can’t recommend them enough.

I went in after a referral because I thought I might need a fan belt. It turned out to be 3 belts. I have the utmost confidence in Fidel and Angela. They were calm, friendly, confident and expert in their field. Im so glad I found them. I happily give them the highest rating on expertise, reasonable pricing, kindness and sense of humor.

Do NOT go here. Got a completely inaccurate quote which if I had trusted, would have cost me close to $4,000 or a new car (current car is older). Went to get a second opinion elsewhere and turns out only minimal repairs needed. Kennedy said timing belt looked original and needed replacement when in reality its less than two years old when I referred to my records. Thats only one of the things they got completely wrong. On top of that they overfilled my oil during an oil change. Now I have to go fix it. 0/10 experience. Makes me wonder how many people have trusted this new ownership and gotten ripped off.

Well, I just gotta say, this is the place you should bring your vehicle if you need service done. The entire team was fantastic. I had a trip planned to leave out of town for the Thanksgiving Holiday, and of course, car troubles. I had a wheel bearing go out. I called a few local friends for direction and they steered me here, and now I understand. I called and explained the timeline and how quickly I needed to get repairs, and the owner just said, bring it, we will take care of it, now questions asked. Within a 24 hour turn around, I had my vehicle back, in better condition than it was even before I needed maintenance. They went the extra mile by refilling gear oil and ensuring that even before work was completed, I had a confirmed quote, and parts were ordered. To take it a notch higher, they even gave me a personal vehicle so that I could get home and my life didnt skip a beat in the mean time. If I could give 10 stars, I would. They were timely and kept us up to date with all the repairs and costs. We’ve had some bad experiences with other shops in the past and feel like Angela and Fidel have restored our faith in mechanics. I cant possibly recommend Kennedys enough. I am having a real issue with mice getting into my car engine, and Kennedys does an incredible job of repairing any damage as well as power washing the engine every time I need it (also doing all the normal car maintenance that would normally come up every 3000 miles or so). Theyre honest and helpful, and Im so glad to have them as a resource in town.Recently the mice got into a guests car too and the team was able to squeeze them in on a busy Saturday to check their car and make sure it was safe to drive back to LA. I was so glad to have a mechanic I really trusted to recommend to my distraught friends.

Tony the owner/manager fixed my sons car. He was fair, did only what was needed and charged a reasonable price. The dealer would have charged me more than double the price and wouldve tried to get me to do more repairs than necessary to fix the car. While this shop offers the cheapest price in town for a smog check, I recommend that if customer service is important to you, skip this place. The man who conducts the test is by far the rudest and most unpleasant person Ive encountered in the service industry. The owner and the rest of the people who work in the shop are very nice, so I hope this man treats his coworkers with more respect than he does the customers.I would be willing to pay twice as much for a smog check to be treated better--the cheap price is not worth it.

I must have called ten auto repair places frantically on a Friday afternoon because my car was overheating. They were the only place that said just to bring it in so they could look at it. Turns out it was just a broken radiator cap which they replaced on the spot. Fast, friendly and honest are the best words to describe them. Found my new auto repair spot!

I cannot speak highly enough of Kennedys Auto. My car decided to not start before a big road trip. Kennedys happened to be within walking distance of my apartment so I got there when they opened and got my car towed there. Right away, the owner said they could get my car in on Monday and they had it fixed it no time. When the air conditioning stopped working after that repair, they were quick to find a way to fix that within the week. I am a young, single woman and was extremely worried about getting taken advantage of due to my minimal knowledge of cars and the fact that my car is older and probably could use a lot of things to be replaced but some repairs are not worth it for a car I know will only last a couple of more years. Kennedys has been absolutely outstanding. Each one of the mechanics has been great about explaining what they did to my car and what needs to be done and when- they never try to replace things that dont truly need it and they are always willing to give advice on what repairs they think are worth it or not. My parents were overjoyed that I found this mechanic shop and I cannot recommend them enough.

Kennedys Auto Repair is a great place to have your car smog checked or fixed prices are reasonable and staff are very friendly and explains everything in detail.

Its hard to find a machanic who is honest and has integrity and a strong work ethic ..... but when we fist took our car over to Mike at kennedys some years ago we did . Kennedys auto deserves more stars but the highest they will allow is 5 ...

Our A/C went out while on a trip here; Mike gave us a very fair quote and worked us in to his schedule. He told us what needed to be done (compressor), and what might need to be done (condenser), and how much it would cost. In the end he told us the condenser looked ok, and didnt replace it. The final price was the same as the initial quote and was in line with what we would have paid back home anyway.Also, the low pressure gauge came on the day before I took it in, but I forgot to mention it when I dropped it off. When I picked it up, he said they had also noticed it and aired up the tires for us and checked the fluids etc.If I lived in the area, this is where I would take my vehicle.
