Thought Id just pop in and drop a review of a local business THE ALPINE SHOP... Back story is my son has raised pigs for 4h and saved every dime from odd jobs with the intention of purchasing a new Specialized Mountain bike. He did his research picking the color and exact model months in advance. Kid lives for riding. Big deal to the little man. When he finally gets the money put together we head down to the local Specialized dealer and pay for it and get the order in. Then along comes COVID. Then comes the massive freeze in Texas which crippled the plastic textiles market and slows everything down. Shortages on bikes across the country is the norm. We were told by Alpine that they were waiting to hear from the manufacture but not to get our hopes up. I then explained the lengths my son went to to purchase his own mountain bike and the owner and employees made it their mission to find one. And low and behold they did. It was from another dealer in another state but they handled the shipping and everything. I cant say enough about these guys and gals, they really made a young mans dream come possible and I know it wasnt easy. Thanks ALPINE! You have made lifelong customers. Keep up the good work. Its really nice to see small business owners who will go the extra mile.

Awesome little shop with a WIDE and AMAZING selection of apparel and gear! Zach was extremely knowledgable and helpful in helping us find some new ski boots. His wife Hannah also helped us find a couple of must haves for the mountain! Cant wait to get up to the mountain and try out our new gear and demo some skis! Mark is the best, repaired our skis with a heli-coil, checked everything out and explained what he was doing. Cant thank him enough, helped with another issue with boots, no charge. Thought our trip was ruined, but Mark saved the day. Great shop.

I have to say that I was very impressed with the service at both the in town shop and at the mountain. Both James and Joe gave expert advice. They were more concerned with me buying the right boots and ski than they were making a sale. They were very patient and walked me through multiple options. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and provided high quality service. I highly recommend the Alpine Shop. And do yourself a favor and ask for Joe or James.

We popped in looking for alpine ski bindings and mark did such a great job! He was super knowledgeable and was also able to mount my bindings (which were on sale) while I waited. 6 stars for mark and alpine shop!

We love the Alpine shop! Every year we rent ski equipment for all of our kids. The staff at the Alpine shop always goes above and beyond to make sure we are set up for an awesome season on the mountain.

Great Little ski shack located in the heart of beautiful downtown Sandpoint. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is convenient if traveling through town. Prices are reasonable and on used equipment theyll sometimes negotiate package deals with you. We will definitely be returning as our kids grow in and out of equipment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for boots, skis, poles, or for clothing

Brent and Nicole are some of the nicest, most helpful people youll ever meet! My husband and I have gotten all of our ski gear here and we absolutely love it. The shop has a wonderful variety of clothing and accessories that are unique and in a large price range so everyone can find something great that fits their budget.

This is a good ski shop. Great selection of gear. The staff are friendly and know their stuff. I brought in a pair of skis that I had been having binding issues with. The guy isolated the problem in under 5 min. I had taken the same skis to two other shops previously (in a different area), and they were not able to find the problem. I am impressed.

Their seasonal rental option is a great deal for growing kids. They do a good job servicing and tuning skis. Nice selection of higher-end ski apparel such as Spyder. Good selection of boots and skis. Eyewear and other accessories, too. I was very disappointed with their boot fitting, however. Sent my husband and child to get a pair of ski boots. The boot fitter sent them home with a pair of ski boots TWO SIZES too large. This particular boot was extremely narrow and my child couldnt get her foot into the appropriate size in that model. With ski boots, you cannot size up. You have to find the model that fits the foot at the correct length. So now we have a boot that is much too big and wont fit her later, either, because it is too narrow. Complete waste of time and money. Anyone with even basic knowledge of skiing knows you cannot ski in a boot that is too long.UPDATE-- This store is under new management since I had that experience. Hopefully their boot fitting has improved.

This is the ski shop we all wished still existed...and still does in Sandpoint! Great personal service by the knowledgeable staff. You HAVE to get your boots here. They take the time to fit you right and make the adjustments you need after your first few runs. Rick is the go-to guy for tough-to-fit feet.Alpine isnt the biggest shop around, but they have a well selected inventory of ski equipment and clothing. Check it out!

Im very pleased with the boot fitting I had today. I highly recommend Alpine Shop for ski gear.

The Alpine Shop in Sandpoint only allowed you to buy full day tickets and said that is all they sold. We wanted to buy half day tickets and were told that they Schweitzer doesnt sell them. However, once we got on the mountain we found out that they do sell half day tickets starting at 12:30 PM and there is even a twilight ticket starting at 3 PM. Not very well informed salespeople at the Alpine Shop in Sandpoint or this is a scam to get you to buy an all day pass.

The Alpine Shop has great quality name brands and the employees are very friendly and extremely helpful. I REALLY like this store!

Will not recommend. They do not stand behind their products. A shirt hem fell apart after two wears and they refused to exchange it or fix it. Defeats the purpose of buying locally. Glad they are not the only apparel store in town.
