Went there for a minor repair to my glasses - i was expecting it to take a couple of days to return and pricey. The service was fantastic - they repaired it immediately and were very reasonably priced. They also do eye checkups and have a good variety of eyeglass frames available.If you’re looking for a good place to get your next checkup or new glasses - I’d highly recommend this store. I know I’ll be going there for all my needs!

I long over due review. The service here was 10/10, came here during work for a quick eye exam. Justin and Alex were super helpful, Justin in particular helped me thoroughly choose the right pair of glasses that would help fit my face. I know I wasnt the most decisive and he was helpful throughout the whole process. I had such a good experience I brought my mom there a few days later and she loved the service as well. They take the time to make sure everything is quality and explained things very well when I had questions. If you are looking for a place to get glasses and have people care about you as a customer I would definitely recommend this place!

Just came back from Site for Sore Eyes in San Mateo to get two vintage frames that I have adjusted, because the original fit was too tight on my face. I saw Justin, and the level of service was outstanding! He and the other personnel were nice, knowledgeable and most importantly took extreme care of my frames. They adjusted them perfectly to fit my face without jeopardizing the integrity of the frames! Thank you guys so much!

I had a fantastic experience here today at the San Mateo location. I chose this store because they open more days than others in the area currently. A+ service by Dr. Lin and Justin. Got my glasses within half an hour of completing the eye exam. They also have thorough COVID protocols in place. The store feels clean and safe.

Did not disappoint!Got 3-people eye exams, 2 new pair of glasses each, and trial contacts to confirm if they are the right fit/power for one of us. I walked in and was greeted immediately! Very friendly and helpful. Justin help me and called my insurance to see what all was covered. He was extremely patient and polite. I came in with a pair of glasses that I had stepped on LOL and he straightened them up for me. Will be ok until my new ones come in. Super grateful I was able to walk in and get help immediately. My husband will go there for sure on Saturday to pick out some new glasses. Highly recommended this location:) Thank you Justin!

The staff was very nice and helpful, professional in every way. My 8yo was able to find a pair of glasses in a very supportive environment with no push and no rush. All the additional things they offer for long term clients are just amazing. On top of that the prices are super reasonable.

Justin is helpful regarding frames, lenses and insurance. Doctor Lin is very nice and knowledgeable and accepts walk in eye exams which saves a lot of trouble of trying to make appointments. Although they are considered partially out of network for VSP, they do match in network due to competition. 100% recommended to everyone who needs glasses and contact lenses.

The customer service here is FANTASTIC!Alex, who I believe is the owner, was so kind and helpful. After he helped me the first time, I noticed my prescription was a little off. My optometrist prescribed me the incorrect strength of lens, so I had to go back and get me eyes reexamined. I called ahead of time to see what the exchange policy would be like and Alex told me to just bring everything in once I was ready. I took my new prescription in right after my appointment and Alex literally had everything changed out and ready in two hours. During this whole process, Alex was nothing but patient, helpful, and kind. He works everyday and is constantly doing something which to me means he takes pride in his work. I cant imagine anyone leaving here disappointed with the variety of glasses and service this place has to offer.

Very impressed. My driving glasses broke yesterday, 2 days before I am due to make a 9 hour drive. My eyes get super tired without my glasses and I get sleepy at the wheel, not good. Called Site for Sore Eyes in San Mateo yesterday at 4pm in a bit of a panic and Justin could not have been more helpful. It is 6:30 and I have new glasses ready for my drive. I dealt with Justin from start to finish and I will be coming back and recommending this store to others.

Love this location. The customer service here is great! I always get more than expected when I go in. Both my wife and I have purchased glasses here and had unquestioning help with adjustments and repairs. Alex and his team are on top of it.I recently went to a Site for Sore Eyes in SF across the street from my office when I had an issue with my frames. They said they couldnt do anything for me and Id have to buy another pair. I went to San Mateo SFSE and they took care of my issue in 10 minutes.The optometrist at this location, Dr. Lin, is awesome, too.

Ive been going to Site For Sore Eyes for a few years now and everytime I go in for a checkup the experience is great! Dr Lin and team are courteous and go above and beyond to ensure my glasses fit perfectly everytime.

I have never had an eye doctor be so thorough and help me out so much with my contacts before. I started needing a prescription for distance and when reading. When I wore the lenses for distance though I could not read my phone. I also have a stigmatism in one eye that needs correction but not the other. I ended up choosing one brand of lenses for one eye and another lens brand for the other. I also was recommended to try wearing a lens for distance only in my dominant eye. Now if I am going hiking, skiing, or other distance activities I wear both lenses for distance and if I am doing groceries, shopping or running errands I just wear one lens in my dominant eye so that I can still read. The doctor and staff were very patient and determined to get me a solution that worked and provided comfort and great vision! So happy and thankful!

I wear contact lenses almost all the time, and just needed an inexpensive pair of backup glasses. I always dread getting glasses - I usually feel like Im getting ripped off and overpaying for something I dont really want or use much. Here, I was listened to, got what I wanted at a really great price and was in and out of there quickly! The glasses were ready in just a few days, were done right and I was on my way - thanks!

I understand this place was once owned by a different party, but as of August 2015 I have to tell you that this is the single best optometric shop I have ever been to. The exam I had was so thorough. I was getting work glasses, and Dr Woo actually set up a computer at the right height and distance and put sample glasses on me to make sure that they were right for was I personally needed them for. I have been going to optometrists for a very long time, and nobody has ever been that thorough before. The prices on the frames are excellent and they have a good variety. But the kicker was this week when I took a pair of my son-in-laws glasses in to get them repaired. They need to be sent out and it will take a week, and because he does not have a spare pair of glasses, they actually hunted down another frame his lenses fit into and gave us those to use as a loaner pair until his can be fixed. There are not enough good things I can say about this place. It is the best.

Horrible, horrible, horrible place. Run by an unpleasant, threatening crook. Stocked with cheap POS frames and sub-standard lenses. Hours are never consistent, store is dirty, and prices are outrageous. Avoid this place at all costs.
