Not so great at San Mateo location... one clerk complaining loudly about some snafu with internal communication... Store has lots of quilting cottons (heavy on holiday prints) & cosplay fabrics, lots of books! I was looking for duck canvas & found small selection. Good help at cutting table.

Love this store... If only I wasnt on my third trimester i world have stayed much longer. Cant wait to utilize the material I bought into baby swaddles and burping blankets:)

Store has good inventory & knowledgeable staff. Good sized parking lot. Staff and store taking excellent Covid19 precautions with clear signage and spacing and mask requirements etc.

The staff work hard and are customer friendly. They do their best to help you. I just wish Joannes had better quality fabrics. More organic wool, linens and real silk. Even just a small amount would be awesome.

The lady that works there is super nice!! Also a big store with huge selection. Not busy at all when I went.

JoAnns is the best place to shop for everything. Toys, baking items and crafts. The personnel are very helpful and good people. Thats for sure.

I came here looking for items to make your own jewelry and found very nice charms and reasonably priced. Love the fact that all their Christmas is 60% off!! I didnt know you could get such good deals BEFORE the actual holiday. I only wish the isles were better labeled or maybe I need to come more often to get familiar with the store...

Yippee its open again! Sadly seems to have alot less inventory and Im sure it took quite a hit on covid. Alot of places did we all did. The gals are still great

Very knowledgeable staff, would of done 5 stars, went to go and do my store pickup from my online order, was told they had not processed it and they did not have what I wanted in stock. I left, literally just walked in my door and I received a call to go back they had my order.

Found everything I was looking for...

I traveled 5 cities to buy some yarn because they’re the only ones who have it in stock. I came there and couldn’t find what I needed. Asked a cashier to help me find it, she tried but also couldn’t find anything. I asked if there’s someone who can help me find it. But they all were so busy and no one knew where the yarn is. So they told me to try to find it myself. I spent maybe 30 minutes or so trying to find the yarn. But I couldn’t. Left disappointed. Will never buy anything from here again.

Great Place for Crafts. They have everything you might desire. The check outs are generally short, the staff is efficient and the prices are competitive. There are always coupons to to lessen the blow of the final tally too!

Ive only come here during the weekdays at night (5-6PM)There is this very cranky, short, chubby older lady who works at the fabric counter. She berates her coworkers & complains to the customers.Theres a young Latina woman who is very nice that works the fabric counter. The Asian cashier dude is also really nice; he will try to find the best coupons to scan for you & help you get the best deals.

Joann is so much nicer than Michaels or other craft stores... it actually has things for sewing and making clothes. [Gasp]

They have decent variety of fabric. The employees are nice. The scissors and cutting is horrible..thats the unfortunate thing about it. You would think a fabric store would have sharpened scissors and the fabric could be cut nicely.

Just your average fabric/craft store. They have all common crafting goods. Price isnt cheap but also isnt necessarily overpriced (some stuff is). Grab the Android/iPhone app and use the coupons but beware, some of them dont work with on sale items and they will not give you the greater discount.

Parking spaces so small I couldnt get out of my car without hitting the car next to me. Left without shopping.

Great place to get your craft on or for kids to buy their craft supplies. The ladies at the fabric cutting area are helpful if you have sewing questions. Large cotton, fleece, outdoor and home fabric selections. Clean, organized and usually fully stocked.Be sure to sign up for the Jo-Anns mailing list to get the coupons.

Great store. Every time I walk in a million new creative ideas are sparked. The store employees are very helpful as well.

Not worth the trip. Store understaffed and rude. Too many customers in store at one time. Very low inventory of fabric. Store messy.

Nothing special about the store. The people that work here in the cutting & floor for the most part are great. The checkers however, slow, s l o w at a nearly glacially slow pace.The checkers will stop what they are doing, sometimes with change in hand, mid sale and discuss a ridiculously irrelevant, non-work related issue with each other. Do that on your own time..not mine and the other 12+people in lines time!!!

There were only two employees in the store because I came close to closing but they were really helpful in getting the fabrics that I needed.There was a wide selection of fabrics and I get felt for a gaming table that would span the whole table. Good value!

It seems pretty empty in the front, almost as if theyre having a huge clearance sale because theyre going out of business... but they arent... the middle and back of the store are pretty well stocked, but I dont know how well staffed they are. I was walking around for 20-30 minutes looking for a few things but no one helped me.

Cashier wouldnt give me the sale price on a holiday item. The sign said 60% off thru the 31st and she said the price was buy 4 get 3 free. Would not honor their own sale prices. Pretty sad. They lost the sale.

Its ok price it high and when buy lot they dont have packaged deal. U only get first yard 50% off then everything is reg price.

Never enough time or excuses to visit a JoAnns, lol.

Friendly and helpful staff. Weekly sales on seasonal fabrics, yarns, and craft materials. Love the percentage-off coupons, especially the 50% and 60% off, that are emailed. The cashier can scan it from my phone, rather than wasting ink and paper to print out a hard copy coupon.

I love coming here and watching the kids imagination fly! Fun place and almost always great sales

The parking is ridiculous in this strip mall. I had to circle for 10 minutes before a space came available. The store is great but I will go back only on a weekday morning around 10am. Never again on a Saturday, lol.

Chronically understaffed so its hardly their fault but service is always slow. They have crafting stuff no on else does, just dont go if you are in a rush or on a tight timeline, especially if you need fabric cut.

Is big place you fine a lot of material. But the only thin in here I never goin to buy a chocolate kit cat.in other places cost 1.79.but in joann is 3.29 a pc.this is redicules.the goin to make a profit jus for the chocolate.is to much spencive.

Found everything I needed for a project after many fruitless stops. Beautifully kept store.

In sharp contrast to a certain unnamed slippery “banana” retail clothing retailer found at most malls, Joann doesn’t care how old it is, they will take a return from you (with receipt) and refund you, no attitude of irritation of reluctance. I’ll never shop another fabric/textiles/sewing store!!

Lets face it, sometimes you make stuff you know youre not going to keep. I was making a costume and didnt want to spend a lot. Female at fabric counter was friendly and professional and helped me choose sufficient interfacing and fabric that would do just fine.Male at chechout was also friendly and professional.Store was clean, had lots of selections/options, and the items I needed were on the shelfs (unlike a nearby competitor who is always out of the one item I go for.)

The staff is what makes this store set apart from a rude chain. The quilting fabrics are a two but the sale coupons make this a good place for interfacing and notions

So ridiculously over-priced...what a rip-off for just a step up from dollar store quality. Couldnt easily find stuff! A now sketchy parking lot area, thank you criminal jerks! Lotsa selection tho. But they must make a mint between having lesser quality and a very high mark up.

Disappointing selection of buttons, has become as much a general crafts store as Michaels. Lots of fake flowers and all that kind of thing. Ill try a different location next time.
