I have really become a fan of their taqueria. Its as good or better than any in the bay area. As a grocery store its fine, somewhat limited selection. The butcher/meat is pretty good. Over all its a smaller Mexican grocery with outstanding taqueria.

Happy with their service. Staff cleaning the restrooms did a good job. Employees are very caring and helpful for non Spanish speakers. The food court’s breakfast burrito was delicious. Great job.

Taqueria. Pricey, but worth it.Fantastic tacos. I had Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos. The Carne Asada is also delicious and authentic Mexican style.

Nice Mexican market. Produce and fruit looked nice and fresh. Wide variety of items. Would have given five stars but one item I purchased had two different prices in two different parts of the store. Naturally I was charged the higher one.

No way this store location is bad. Homeless everywhere it looks like the owners of the shopping center dont care for the stores which rent from him . the parking lot is always full of trash I want to go here because Chavez is good quality but the parking is not safe sorry.

So my stepdad called earlier today to ask if the chicharron was cooked fresh today? The meat department guy who answered assured him it was. He goes buys it and gets home the chirarron was rancid!!!! It smelled disgusting and ruined everyone’s meal. We called twice to complain and the it was a total waste of time!!! So unprofessional!! Never going back!! If ur looking for fresh products do not buy here!!

Always an easy go to for their fresh Carniceria, produce, and bakery. They provide friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere in an otherwise part of the neighbourhood. I have been an on and off regular their for over a decade since my high school years at Independence down the street and make a point to visit their Taqueria on lunch breaks when I am in the area. The only complaint is the price is relatively high compared to other supermarkets, though I believe it is justified by the service and quality they provide.

The absolute best Carne Asada dishes. Might be a bit pricey but worth every penny. I love that they dont deep-fry their meats.

OERPRICED!! I will never shop here again!I bought 9 items and my total was an unbelievable $75 for chorizo, cheese, intant coffee, cinnamon sticks 3 bags of 2 pcs each of Mexican bread and 4 mangoes.I have been a customer for over 25 years, in Mtn View, Sunnyvale,and San Jose CA, you should be ashamed of yourself charging these prices when people are hurting in the middle of a pandemic.WAY TO HELP OUT YOUR COMUNIDAD CABRON!Im ashamed of you and you should be too. I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGIAN!!

Very clean. Friendly employees. I felt that the security was watching me like if i was going to steal. I first ordered and paid from the area where they sell hot food, which all items from that area need to be paid for there. Then i went to the back to get some queso fresco. Security walked passed me. By time i walked to the front to pay for my queso he was standing right there at the check out. This was my first time there. I also thought their prices were high compare to other Mexican supermarkets.

Good taqueria, clean place, good hours

I went there yesterday and this lady got so upset just because I ask if she can cut some fresh bbq pork, she made this awful comment in spanish about me been poor and asking for to much .Well I think that it was rude because it doesnt matter, one is paying for the service. she should not be making those kinds of comments, at the end of the day its part of the job and if she doesnt like her job ..I guess she should quit it.

Nice store, well kept and in and out in a breeze.

Thus store always has fresh produce and a good selection of Harris ranch meats. I like the variety of stuff that you cant find at target and other big chain stores. They also have a taqueria inside that uses high grade meats for their food. It is always clean stocked and friendly. Much better than other store like it.

Very clean and organized market, friendly staffs, opposite to the one next door.

I like the fresh food section, and the meat counter. Also, you can get meals here to go nowadays, until they allow sitting inside to eat, which they have an area provided. They make fresh tortillas at this location although I think other locations are the same.

Good little market with a good kitchen staff. You could pick up a meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. All their beef is sourced from Harris Ranch, and their bakery is not bad at all.

People here are nice, respectful, and in good spirit. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone. They are limited on selection but not having to deal with a certain type of crowd makes up for it.

Really bad service you ask personal people for help and they have very bad attitude. In the meat area you ask for something and they want to give you what they want. Really rude bad attitude people.

Sadly last time i went the cashier was kinda rude with the costumers, i just personally wouldn’t like to be treated like that by someone when i ask for help.

Love this place versus any other Latin supermarket. The employees are always smiling, the isles are always clean and the prices are fair to say the least. I hope this place never moves or closes.

Way better than the other places. Rotten meat from fresco.. rotten and little one inch bottoms from mi Pueblo. Im so embarrassed to serve my guest. Not shopping there anymore. Chavez thumbs up.

The Western Union agent female agent in there was told to call Western Union so I can get my money and she refused to do it customer service told me to tell her to call them so they can explain and get stuff straight and she refused to do it and walked away from the window now Im getting ready to put a complaint in on that store

Horrible place to buy meat here. The arrachera sirloin flat meat is so overpriced here...The butcher doesnt clean inuff the meat in removing the fat. I came home with more fat then meat...

Their burittos are awsome. We dont have this market in Sacramento area so when Im in San Jose I try to get a buritto here. Give it a try they are sooooo good.

I love getting food from the taqueria inside. Their fish tacos are extremely good, as are their burritos. The meat is really tender and flavorful. A little on the expensive side, but I think it’s worth it. Quick service too.

Had a bad experience here. After a long day, I went to the store and bought a bottle of soy source, a bunch of celery along with some other items here, per my fathers request. My father was waiting outside the store. After I left the door of the store, my father found that I bought the soy source and celery by mistake, which is my fault, and asked me to return them. We havent reached to my car yet and all the items never left the cart. I went to the cashier who helped me check out a minute ago. I explained to her that I wanted to return the soy source and celery. She asked a woman to speak with me. The woman told me that because I have left the door, no items could be returned. I told her that I never left the door for more than a minute. I showed her the receipt. I told her the camera could prove that I never left the door for more than 20 feet. She still refused my return request.

My son like the store but I had a bad 👎experience at the meat department I ask for 1 pounds and they give me more than I ask and I told the guy but he just agnor me so dont know if I want to go back again

Barbacoa burrito ever.

Is my first time visiting this store ever I live close by but today I had a chance to go in I have tried their arrachera preparada and is really good it has a great taste and is really tender this is my new place to buy meat for our BBQs

$12.01 FOR JUST A BREAKFAST BURRITO? Im good. The taqueria is super overpriced. And you dont even get the amount you paid for.

Good environment for kids play space. Bathroom clean. Stores are great. Very convenient to shop . Peoples shoppers good relaxing in the benches.

I love this place! When ever Im in town I have to stop in and grab some dinner! From super tacos with beans and rice, nacho fries, and California burritos you cant go wrong with this place. Make sure to grab some pan dulce on your way out.

If your looking for grade A cut fresh meat this the place to go. I trust their meats, never had a problem with quality or flavor. The bakery offers up the best Tres Leches cake and Flan that is finger licking good.

Love their named brand tortilla chips. Extra cruchy and the taqueria is not bad. But they started weighing out the meat so its nit as big of of a portion as it used to be when they first opened up

I mainly go here for the carne asada fries and super burritos. So deliciously made! Great friendly service and quick service. Great place for food if you are in the east side.

Pricey but good quality

Although the quality of food is okay, Chavez has gotten very expensive over the years, and almost gentrified. Do not come here if you are a Hispanic person looking for a Mexican meal. Just go to Super Taqueria in that case. Its much more affordable, you get more food, and the overall experience is better.Go to Chavez if you have money I guess? I really wouldnt recommend it.

Ive only been here twice, both times for the produce section so I can only comment on that. I love that I can pick up cactus any time I need it. The produce is also very fresh. They also have a food court that Ill try next time.
