If yall like Indian food thats the place to go. They have a great variety of all sort of snacks, relish. Flours as well as produce just to mention a few. Also, the crew keeps up the good work.Hint: Samosas are fresh and yummilicious, just go for it.
Local favorite. Fresh food affordable pricing. However, the Fresh snack shop is a hit and miss. Not always impressed with the south Indian snacks like wadas, cutlets...the stuffing had no taste and their crust was double fried but end up being soggy. The Samosa and Jalebi are couple of good items to buy and both have improved over last year.
They have a wide selection of ingredients that you won’t find elsewhere From fresh fruit, vegetables, beans, lentils, all Indian products and utensils, they’ve got what I really need. The food stalls are so organized and they are taking good precautions in this pandemic time. Highly advised!
Had issues with fresh produce quality. Packaged stuff is priced well but I would stay away from the fresh produce
Vegetables are not fresh. Even their Pani puri taste bad. Samosas and puffs tastes as if they are stale.
Pretty impressed with the variety of items made available in the store.
Groceries are fine, but found mold in a pack of parathas and on biryani on two separate occasions. Be sure to check fresh food before buying
Best Indian store that I know of in Bay area. They have all my fave brands from India and are also priced fairly! The people who run it are very helpful and patient. They guided me to a few things I couldnt find. All in all, its a great place for all your Desi grocery needs.
Hidden gem in the area. Very clean and organized indian grocery shop with good options as well as precooked meals and snacks. Love it! Well organized compared to many other indian grocery stores. Fair prices.
3.5 stars: The store has most of the Indian grocery items that you need. Some are expensive than other stores in the bay. Also like any small store, be sure to check the expiry date of items before you buy. They have sweets, chaat and snacks available in the store which tastes pretty good and lite on pocket.
Nice grocery store with fresh Indian produce. Lovely staff and extremely helpful 👏
Since I was in San Jose area, I decided to drop by to pick up some samosas. I thought it was close by but it turns out that I was going towards a different direction. Anyways since I am going there, I decided to call to make sure they had the samosas. The lady that answered said they do have plenty. When I got there, there were only a few there on the hot tray area and looked like a regular size. She asked for me to wait about 15 minutes and I said ok while they make more. I told her I wanted maybe 10 or 15. After waiting, she came out with 20 samosas. I was shocked that they were so twice as small but raised the price by 10 cents each since I was last there. She convinced me to get 20 because they were small. I was not happy that the new batch they made fresh for me were twice as small but raised their prices compared to a few months ago when I was here. From now on, I would rather buy it elsewhere because it’s not worth buying the samosas that is twice as small but cost more. I ate 2 small ones when I got home. They were okay but the fillings inside were barely anything in it making it taste more like a pastry I was eating. Before I can see and taste the potatoes and some peas or whatever it was inside. This time maybe they just added a little potatoes inside and not even sure if there were other fillings inside because I can’t see anything else but some white thing which I’m guessing is potatoes.
Vegetables were not fresh.on a Monday morning trip. Had most of the other grocery items.
Everything looked good and clean. Some of the spices did not have use by dates but I bought them anyway just to get a general idea how these spices taste.
They never have fresh produce. Not easy to find item in the store. Sometimes they have expired items on shelves. If you return the item saying it was expired before I bought it, they will simply take it. We went to get sweets on Diwali day, and all they had were nanak brand which is not that great. We bought fire crackers on that day. It was so expensive. 1 box of long sparkles (6 items) were charged 15$. Thats a loot. Really really pathetic
Clean and super quiet store with very less waiting time to checkout. Staff people are very helpful especially Nidhi working in the checkout area. She always helps with products and answers all the questions.
One of the best indian stores in this covid-19 pandemic. It is very very less crowded. All items are 1.5 times overpriced compared to other Indian stores, but its worth than crowded indian stores. The vegetables are not always fresh but if you are lucky you can get some fresh ones.
Go-to place for my groceries shopping. Love the packaged curries that are available. Should probably add more varieties. South Indian may be?
Great place with quite some variety of indian supplies. Ranging from north indian to south indian delicacies, spices, regional nostalgic drinks. And the staff is very friendly and helpful in finding items you need assistance with.
Food is so expensive grocery very old vegetable one week ago still store not good
Less crowded. Decent prices. North Indian snacks are freshly made.
The store is reasonably nice and clean as Indian grocery stores go. However it’s a bit concerning that the staff don’t always wear masks. That does make me a bit uncomfortable shopping here.
Extremely happy to have this shop nearby. Great selection and hot food available. Staff is friendly as well. Worth checking out.
The samosas and puffs were just meh. The puff had almost no filling and both tasted bland. No complains on produce/Indian groceries.
Big store by speciality store standards. Good service. The produce and baked goods felt a little stale. Not very busy either.
I just bought samosa and kachori. Kachori is very hard and cant break without help of hammer and over price on everything. Not a really big location. I called them and let them know about kachori and his response is very bad. I would not recommend to anyone. They dont have itemized bill also so they can mess up you easily and you cant do nothing
Great variety. They have everything u need from India from ingredients to packaged goods. Also have a small snack bar as well
Nice place to get Indian grocery and snacks.
Absolutely amazing snack isle.
Well stocked Indian store for folks in Berryessa area
Well stocked. Not too crowded
It is one of the several Indian Grocery stores in Bay Area. It’s a small store as compared to several other stores but very neatly organized. The product shelves are all labeled. They don’t have many choices but carry most common used products. Meat section is absent. Fresh vegetable section is very small but again fresh and labeled. The snack section is also impressive. We liked their veg patty and spring roll. The store does not have bulk packaged goods so if you want to save money by buying Costco style then you will be disappointed. However it’s a really good store for your most of the needs. Also if you live in that section of Milpitas you really don’t have many choices.
I love the new location. It is so bright and clean. Good prices and a very big variety of items. True to the name they have more spices and spice blends than any other store I have seen. It smells amazing in the spice aisle! You can get some snacks while you are there is shopping makes you hungry. Try the fresh samosas!
Nice and well maintained store. Even though, its small; you can find pretty much every Indian grocery item.
Great Indian Grocery Store. Big selection of Spices, Flour, Rice, Dals, Beans, Fresh Vegetables, Milk, and Indian Juices... they have a small food type restaurant that makes hot food. Check it out.
Wide variety of spices.
The store location is comparatively near and close to the light rail. However the rates are higher than what you get in the competitor indian stores. For eg an organic Horizon milk carton is a dollar more than any other stores. Most of the items are higher in price by 25 cents to a dollar. Not much variety of vegetables to offer. Also any bill less than $10 they charge you 50 cents on your credit card or you are asked to buy stuff to round off. pretty weird.
Many times the items are expired or close to expiry date. Have to be very careful. Especially stuff like Maggie and Indian items. The in house daals / pulses are generally priced higher. Better to buy the better brands. Labels are also not consistent with item placing. Not very clear. Basic advice : Always check expiry for all packaged stuff here.
Amazing Indian grocery with a wide selection of organic foods. They are very friendly and happy to answer any questions you have. They also make tasty things to take home like mango lassi, samosas, and Methi bread.
They make yummie Samoas and authentic Indian dishes that you can buy in their store in the fridge section. Fresh naan too.
Local Indian grocery store. They accept only cash for less than $10 purchase. Good amount of vegetables you can find here for your daily cooking. They also have pre-made cooked vegetarian dishes available to purchase at cheap price. They are good in taste. They have samosas and few other types of pakodas as well. Nice place for quick daily grocery.
The ready cooked food is great like samosas and spring rolls. Wonderful selection of merchandise and very organised. The young lady is always very courteous & helpful
Vegetables are not very good at this place. Pretty old stuff. Other groceries are good.
Pro hardly any line at checkout. I love not having to wait in long winding lines like some other indian grocery stores. You can relax and pick what you want. Another pro is they have kitchen in the back and have some fresh paratha, samosa etc and are decently prized. Con is that some items may be higher priced and sometimes the fresh veggies are not as fresh.
A quiet Indian store. Not crowded, stock well stuffed. Food counter.
Staff is rude, when asked to look up for items if expired or not, spoke rudely .All green veggies seems stale couldn’t pick any, such a waste of time and efforts
Wide selection of all Indian groceries and extremely yummy Indian snacks and fresh food! I go there almost every alternate day! Very convenient location!
Above average Indian store. A bit on the expensive side compared to others but its the only one in the area. They have good and fresh Indian snacks in the afternoon
Its one of the finest India store in San Jose. You get almost everything here from groceries till pulses, tea/coffee to cookies, spices to pickles. Its close to McKee light rail station. Very easily accessible from all 680 freeway and N Capitol Ave.
We live close by to this store and its a convenient place to shop for groceries. Added attraction is the ready-to-eat foods which are always available.
Indian groceries store. Little expense but has all Indian groceries.
Fresh vegetable and Authentic Indian spice and food and good price. O highly recommended this store for groceries.
Great service, however they dont sell meat and the produce is not always fresh. They do have a very wide selection of spices. Also, the prepared food is really good, and good valuem
Lots of spices and other Indian products at good prices.
Always friendly! Getting some hot samosas is my favorite inexpensive fast food.
I visited this place to buy some snacks and I like Samosa and other prepared food items. Specially I like Aaloo paratha and the vegetable ( cooked one) but it is only available after 5.00 pm. Price of the snacks items are pretty reasonable.
New Indian store in the neighborhood. I like the quality of the products so far. The new location is not that great but I am ok with that as long as the vegetables and other stuff inside the store are good. Not sure if its better priced than other indian stores but since its new things are neatly arranged and everything looks good around.
Great new Indian store. Spacious. Well stocked. Courteous staff. Fresh cooked Indian food for takeaway.
Indian grocery store. vegetables doesnt look fresh. bit pricey compare to new india bazar or india cash n curry. i tried the veg pakoda. it was hard and cold. not recommended
Not as crowded as India Cash and Carry. So refreshing of the items take some time.
No meat.alot of different kind of apices. Alot of vegetables..small section of ready samosas and indian sweets
They need diversity training they dont care if you spend your money there or not .they dont appreciate your business
Good Indian store in San Jose for packaged Indian groceries. They carry most of the products you find in other stores. I wouldnt rely on this store for fresh veggies.
Kamal Spice House has been my go-to Indian grocery store in San Jose for the past couple of years. It is in a large mall shared by many other businesses so even though there is a large parking lot finding a spot close to the shop is always a challenge but manageable as there are a couple of reserved spots in the front. This is your typical Indian grocery store that carries a lot of Indian spices and ready to eat packaged goods. It also has a decent amount of fresh produce and a hot food station with Indian snacks like samosas, pakoda, wada etc. On the weekends it has a chaat corner where you can get freshly prepared chaat’s.Their Indian snacks and chaat are great, they are priced also very reasonably so absolutely no complaints (the samosas tend to become a bit stale late in the evening sitting under the lamp but that is understandable). The grocery section is not on the same level as the chaat section. Lately I’ve observed that they are not as well stocked as before and that their prices have inched up. Recently I found India Mart another Indian store closer to where I live which is much better stocked so I’ve started shopping there for my Indian groceries and limit my shopping at Kamal to the chaat section. The chaat section is good but when combined with the average grocery store you end up with an overall above average grade for this place.
Nice Indian store at Capitol! They have few freshly baked food like samosa and parathas too and one live counter for pani puri
I tried pani puri, and I wish they sold containers in the fridge section. Freshly made food in the store. Fresh samosas. Plenty of ingredients to cook, try or reminisce. Good selection for foreigners.
Quality Indian grocery. No rush. Heard that they are little pricy but didnt feel like that. I do drive from milpitas to there, because I feel more comfortable there to buy grocery and I always get what I need.
Kamal spice is very respectful store customer service is wonderful and reasonable rates are all over the things thanks for Kamal spice.
Great food made fresh in their kitchen. Overall very clean store and courteous staff.
Old and expensive stuff. Bad customer service
Place has all indian groceries.
Beware of sticker prices. One price shown on item. Different price at the register. Many items do not have price stickers on them. In such a case, the register guy rings up arbitrary price! Vegetable look sick. I leave feeling cheated every visit. They say that the curries and dhals are cooked fresh every day. They taste ok but high priced compared to the items you get in Sunnyvale which are being cooked right before your eyes. Driving to Fremont or Sunnyvale is worth the time and money rather than shopping in this store. I wish there was another store in the area. Competition will keep things straight.
Love Indian spices and food there. In love with their chili pakora 😘😍😍
Has a large collection of indian grocery. even has stuff from patanjali, and pooja related items. Reasonable pricing. Definitely a dependable store for indians and Indian food lovers
Dont like the place. Most of the items are stale or near expiry. U can get cheaper n lot better Indian stuff at other places
Anything spice related, hit this place up. Prices are great, selection is amazing.
Its the every day go-to grocery store. For vegetables or anything else. Pretty good service and fresh groceries.
Hot fresh food with groceries. Probably best grocery store in South Bay
Limited selection but excellent lamb kababs.
Convenient store. With all you need indian groceries.
Good Indian store..they have almost all the Indian stuff
They make fresh Samosa and other snacks everyday and we like their Samosa and Chilli Bajji. They are spicy end. My kids like their Spring roll. Their besan sweets are also yummy and has correct amount of sweetness. They also make side dishes that goes with chapathi or roti. But, they are very spicy for us. They have good collection of Indian groceries. The veggies are not that fresh which can be improved. This place is kept neat.
I found what i was looking for..Im very happy
Good location. Youll get most of your Indian food preparation necessities here.
The layout of the store is much better compared to the previous location in Berryessa . Accessibility also gets high points as its very near the VTA station at McKee. The drawback as I see as always is the freshness of the produce.
This place is the best for freshly made aloo parathas. I just love it! It comes in pack of 4 and so big that you ll be full after eating one. They make samosas, chilli pokoras, bread pokoras and veggie rolls every day around 4pm every day expect Thursday I guess. This place is on the same complex where 24hr fitness and McDonalds are located.
You can find everything in here. They have freshly prepared snacks which are also good. Parkings during weekends are very bad
Large and not that crowded. They also have a kitchen serving food.
You everyday grocery store but what sets it apart is the fact that it serves best in house pani puri in the entire bay area.
Its a good place around the area to shop for Indian food supplies like groceries, spices, snacks, household materials and sometimes even ready to eat packed home made food like saag paneer, Gobi manchurian, aloo curry and chicken curry. They also have chaat stall that is available only on weekends, however, theyre snacks like samosa and chilli bhaji are available almost everyday.Their prices seem a dollar more compared to other stores but not on all items. Its not the best place for a monthly shopping spree for a family, but rather a fill up place for when ur low on some food stock. Some important things u can find here are rice bags, lentils, grains, vegetables, frozen foods, ready to eat food packs, snacks and dairy.
What a place and treasure house to find my spices and ingredients that are so so hard to find here in the bay. I love it.
Less quantity and variety vegetables, but still good enough. Credit card only > 10$
Good Indian Grocery Store.... Serves some delicious chaat as well
All sorts of Indian foods n spices.
Decent indian store which not crowded at most times. They have a chat counter on weekends and the golgappe and samosa chat and the chat is very good. They also have a kitchen and we order rotis sometimes which are pretty decent. The only issues I have is that at times, the produce is not fresh and thier prices could be a lityle higher than other stores.
Exorbitantly expensive! dont even bother to buy here. Indian bazar is way better. Bought Rayal brown basamti rice, was charged 14$, the same thing you get for 12$ in Indian bazar.
Good place to shop for Indian groceries, but no meat or fish!
