This is a nice Safeway. It is fairly large, clean, and my encounters with employees has been very pleasant to. Being a blind person though it is a very interesting place to navigate through not the most complicated ever been in but also not the simplest. Some of the aisles arent parallel to each other and that is kind of confusing at times. Also the placement some of the items is weird cant really explain but youll its truly explained but youll walk down an aisle and on one side will be something and the other side will be something youre not expecting in the same aisle as the thing you just witnessed prayer Otherwise this is a Safeway and if you know what a Safeway is youll have fun here. Parking sucks at this location. Its really busy. But the store is pretty good. Great deli & hot food section. I always get my 💐 flowers here, great selection. Good deals on bowls of fruit. Overall shopping is alright here.

My experience at Safeway was excellent. The lady at the deli making sandwiches was very helpful. Then a lady helped me find jello. She took me to it. I really appreciated that.

Funny enough I usually shop at nob Hill or luckies thats near me... I ended up deciding to go to Safeway on a whim... I really loved it! They had boars Head meat that I just absolutely adore... And a bunch of wonderfully pre-made meals that you can take home to your family... It was clean it was nice, and it was just all around a good experience

Decent size store and good selection of items. I love Safeway because they typically always have good deals. Majority of the employees at this location are young but friendly. My favorite thing about this store is that theyre open until 2AM. Im a night person so this is a very big plus in my opinion! 5 STARS!

We ordered 2 day cakes for my mom and her sister. Young man in the bakery area very patient and helpful. They were ready on time and the cakes were delicious.

Cashers are slow. Self checkout is crowded.

They have a great deli I was totally happy and on the side they have a little eating area so thats always cool and a Starbucks great spot

Nice store! Well laid out and a good selection

I cant say enough about this Safeway! Best Safeway ever. I believe this is the flagship store. It has things that only specialty stores carry. The produce department is over the top. Huge selection of microgreens and fruits and vegetables choices that dazzle the eyes. I will now drive the distance to go here every other week. Shopping here is like going to a food mall.

Now has drive up pick up, great feature if you use their app, not all store items are on web store, pretty good picks of products by staff, be sure to check mark Do Not Replace on items, if you do not want them to pick for you, pretty fast so far

8/13/21 much better than Safeway off Capitol Expressway and Tully. The staff is friendlier.

Open late. although if you park in disabled parking make sure your placard is in view. mine wasnt and had to run out the store to the tow truck! boy was my back paying for it!

Love that theyre keeping the pickup service available. Its so convenient and great for those of us who still arent ready to be inside with crowds if people.

Im a long time customer and will continue to shop here. A lot of items I have difficulty finding, such as liquors due to rearrangement. Consequently, I have to go elsewhere for those items. On my recent visit, I was able to find the liquors I wanted. Thanks Safeway!

The store is clean, huge, and the restrooms are clean too. Theres a code to get into the restroom and maybe that helps keep it clean. Staff are friendly.Theres a Starbucks and a bakery. I feel like theres a deli too, it would make sense, but honestly its not my regular Safeway and I didnt do much walking around the store.

I asked about the club prices and how to join. The cashier named Heather was extremely helpful. She helped me sign up for the club and I am now an instant member.

In San Jose big variety I love this Store.

Love having a Safeway close to home. They have a pretty good selection in all their departments, makes grocery shopping very convenient. Their reward program is pretty good too, it has helped us a few times! They recently upgraded their self checkout so you can be in and out fast. Staff is friendly, polite, and helpful!

SUMMARY: What an improvement! Emphasis on local grown with plenty of organic foods to choose fromDETAILS: In the past, I wasnt such a big fan of Safeway (or most grocery stores), so I rarely entered. But, in pursuit of my favorite hot sauce, Pico Pica, I found myself inside one. This Safeway is new and modern. Clean. It bombards me with marketing material that is actually important to me. Organic. Local. And, sure enough, up and down the aisles were organic and local food. I found my favorite Pico Pica hot sauce, and yes, selection is something that Costco is thin on. I also picked up a few more items on my way out.The prices were reasonable, and I was inspired to get a discount card online for future discounts. As with many grocery stores, know your prices. Some items have heavy markups. The specials are good bait, and if you stick just to those, then you will get excellent value.The employees at this Safeway seemed friendly and happy. (I had issues in the past with other Safeways where they were not so.) So, hopefully, Safeway has improved in this area too and treats its employees well. More frequent visits certainly will reveal if this true.Regardless, I was pleasantly impressed and will certainly be back to pick up my hot sauce and few more items that catch my eye.

While parking can sometimes be a challenge, yhis is one of the better Safeways in the area.

Nice clean store smaller safeway compared to othera ive been to. They have lots of desserts and stuff. Yummy baked goods... on Fridays they have good deals on chicken ect...

Good place to go for a basic customizable breakfast sandwich. Try a ham and egg egg white sandwich toasted with melted cheddar cheese on a croissant with honey mustard and a little mayo and LOAD on the veggies. A good satisfying breakfast. Plus they gave an in store Starbucks for your coffee.

We ordered online to pickup the food for the first time tonight and was highly disappointed. My wife is pregnant so we are limiting the amount of contact, ordering online sounded perfect. Delivery was going to be the next day so we decided to do pickup instead. She spent over an hour getting our order ready then placed it, spending almost $250. The window was from 7-8pm and at 7:30pm, my wife called because we havent heard anything. The person on the phone sounded like they didnt know what we are talking about, stalled, then said they were putting it together. The email specifically says do not come until we tell you its ready, so we waited. My wife got an email at 7:50pm that our order was ready, so I left our house to pick it up. I got there at 8:05 and called the number but no one answered. I called four times, then called the store directly to see what was going on. The person answered and told me that they close the delivery at 8pm and the girl in charge left at 8:10. I asked if I could come inside to get our food but she told me its all locked up and they have personal codes so she couldnt get it, I would have to come back the next morning at 8am. This is the last time Im using their services, we ended up shopping at Luckys instead. I will not go back, such terrible customer service and communication.

This Safeway is a great store and you can get gas here as well. The only drawback to this store is its always crowded. There are numerous food outlets here as well(panera, 5 guys, pizza, panda express etc...) so expect a walk to the front of the store. Once inside they have plenty of carts and hand held baskets, all sanitized. The store is clean and neat and staffed well. Plenty of self checkout stands. My only concern is the lack luster attitude of the customer service counter people. For this reason I give this store a 8 out of 10.

Best place to shop, especially during covid! Helpful workers, they dont try to control people by making people step on arrows. They allow people to manage themselves.

They kept all the sanitized carts inside and closed off access to unsanitary carts from outside. All shoppers had their mask on and kept their distance for the most part (thank you). It helped that it was not busy. After each shopper checked out at the self check out line, there was someone there to sanitize the area afterwards. Peace of mind was great here. Especially with the new highly contagious covid strain about.

Cashier Pattie is SO rude!!!! ( I came in today 10/19 at 6:14 pm) She doesn’t even talk or greet customers, and she rolls her eyes and even throws our stuff so we can bag, I don’t mind bagging of course I always do but it’s so rude when a cashier is this aggressive with items. I always have a good experience but coming here and experiencing horrible service really makes this store look bad. Not sure why she is still working at such a big supermarket with horrible customer service skills. Not sure if I’ll be coming here again or recommending this Safeway to my family or friends.

I love shopping at Safeway. This particular store is very nice and is fairly new. The were out of a lot of products. Im sure it could be attributed to Thanksgiving being next week or because of the pandemic but Im not sure. Cashier wasnt great but it was pretty busy, and Im sure they are tired. Overall, a great place to shop.

Very very well stocked Safeway, especially for cheeses. Like all Safeways, their self-checkouts are best in class. Only downside is that the parking entrances are very easy to miss - easiest thing is to turn in by their gas station and find parking from the back

Really clean, big and really nice. Best Safeway Ive been to. Its 20 minutes away from me but i really like shopping here. Fresh produce, fresh poultry, fresh flowers . I love it

Safeway on Cottle.The butcher (Johnny) has to be the rudest person I have ever come across in customer service. He was rude to my boyfriend a couple months ago he has been rude to me. I was in a couple days before Thanksgiving and he was so rude to a customer he made her cry. The unfortunate thing about it is management has been informed and the response I got was yes we are aware of his behavior we actually had to walk him off his shift one day and send him home. But keep him employed! I had the last en counter with him today. I have decided that moving forward I will be shopping at Nob Hill.

Nicely put together Safeway. Never had any problems with the staff or people, but cant say anything good about them either. This Safeway never does the $3 for 2 on Cadbury chocolate or the half off Arizona drink deal, so theyre really not the best on discounts. I recommend this place for quick shopping visits.

Best Safeway around....also the best Starbucks around. Very, very nice group of people working at this store. They are all about diversity and respect as well..just a very nice store. They seem to take a lot of pride in their store.

Always find what I need

I stopped here on my way home which is Hollister. We have a Safeway there but nothing like this Mega Safeway. I found so much variety and choices at this Safeway. The produce and bakery are the best in quality and items are well displayed. Im envious of those who live near this location. If and when I have to go to San Jose again I will definitely be shopping here again.

Clean. I found all items on sale Paper. I dont like that I have to sign up for another place to get discount I already have card. If you dont pay attention you wont know you didnt get the discount eventhough you gave them a coupon. If we have a Safeways card it should give us all discounts.

They had seeded watermelon this year. Yes I said SEEDED! They were soooooo big and hella juicy. My daughter had never seen a real watermelon, let alone tasted one. I hope they have them again next year!

👣👣Well counter clerk. I used my own technique for a grocery list. Hand written request the list is placed at the front top angle in the smaller basket for well identifying my product purchase. You need to add an inverter for those with memory disabilities that is made of hard clear plastic with horizontal insert opening. That may help your production of custom customers. Check your car basket for disable and seniors. It place a bigger sign for request. Woman had problem today and body not well.🗽🎃

Got gas, used points, it was a good deal

Unlike Branham and Smell they know how to schedule and order here. Their deli is on point. Their Starbucks are well trained and well staffed. I hate the parking lot setup.
