BBQ spot 2. @smokingpigbbq . Really good Q. I tried the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends and their version of jalapeno poppers. The sides were baked beans, Mac & cheese, and southern greens with cornbread too.The meats were flavorful, juicy and tender. You definitely get the smoke but its not overdone. If I have to pick an all star it would be the ribs but it was all good. The burnt ends were saucy and tender. The brisket and pulled pork were perfectly done.I wasnt feeling the greens but the other sides were on point. The portions were good as well. The cornbread was moist with the perfect touch of sweetness. These guys are in Levis stadium and they were a top spot when I asked about bbq. And I see why. ππΎ
Recommend their ribs and brisket! I ordered a two meats combination, which costs around 21 dollar. I chose beef brisket and ribs, Mac n cheese as the side. I like their ribs, which are really soft and favorable. The brisket is also good but kind of too salty for me. The most terrible part is probably the corn bread. The texture of the corn bread is rough, and donβt even have taste. The Mac n cheese is just okay. I will recommend to order their ribs. But donβt put too much expectation on the corn bread.Fair price!
Delicious food. Cornbread is sweet and moist. Burnt ends are fantastic.
Great food and service but restrooms had a sewer smell which leaked into small part of restaurant but didnt ruin experience.
BBQ pork and the brisket dinner and sandwiches were sooo good. Juicy and tender and flavorful. The coleslaw is on point. Im giving 4 stars because I checked the silverware box and asked in the comments section but didnt get any with our order, or napkins which made it hard to eat. I will definitely come back.
Mac and chesse balls were good. The brisket sandwich was amazing!
First off, the Burnt ends were over cooked, nasty and hard as rocks. The only reason I am doing two start is the pulled pork was good.
Okay why this place have almost 5 stars? Meat flavor less buns are like 5 month old the corn bread was okay but it was a size of a butter cup. The only thing that save it was the sauces
It was ok. I had the pulled pork sammy with French fries that I thought were over done with a side of Mac and Cheese. Im going to try it again at some point when Im in the mood for BBQ. I was more in the mood for breakfast but, my son wanted BBQ. Its a little pricey for a BBQ place.
Best place to eat in San Jose area! I dont visit without getting dinner here. Pulled pork nachos... corn bread... bratwurst...have yet to try something that wasnt absolutely mouth watering.
I hadnt been back at this location in over a decade, as I had been going to Fremont, but it is still the same. Low key, good bbq. The meat wasnt as good as usual, but I will put that off to the holiday weekend.
Decent food, but will never return due to the smell of sewer overpowering the restaurant. Owners need to investigate the problem of this smell rather than just place the signage of βKeep door closedβ on the door. Disgusting.
Luke warm food. Very bland and had little flavor. The ribs were cooked well, fell off the bone but there was a lot of fat and not much meat. Descent amount of food but still pricy. Pulled pork had no flavor and a lot of fat. It had obviously all been cooked a day or more prior and reheated. Mac and cheese was pretty good. Sauces were ok. Staff was very friendly and helpful. But the food was subpar. Wouldnt eat there again or recommend it.
Ordered 3 meats - regular pulled pork, half rack of ribs, and lean and fatty brisket. The brisket was so delicious - tender, juicy, and savoury. The ribs were also extremely tender, with a large amount of meat, and nothing under or over cooked. The pulled pork was a good quantity too, but didnt compare to the former two. If I were to reorder, I would get 2 portions of the brisket and 1 rib!We got the mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and BBQ beans as sides. Mac and cheese was cheesy and salty, the mashed potatoes texture and taste were really nice, but the beans were kind of too ordinary.Service was good, and there are 4 sauces on the side which may compliment your meal. I could come back.
This place is amazing if you love food and beer. They have a nice variety of beers. The food is great. They have a lot of choice of BBQ meat. I had a great burger. It was very different but great. They put a lot of food on your plate, I got too many fries haha. The Mac&cheese was different but very good. The atmosphere is great
Was soo yummy!! The ribs were so good,. Meat fell off the bone.. the corn bread so gud..
The service was great, but the food was interesting..The barbecue chicken was flavorless and cooked without the sauce. You actually have to pour the barbecue sauce on top of the chicken once its served, weird.. The southern style greens were undercooked and tasted like seaweed without any seasoning. The wings and brisket were great, but very expensive considering the portions. I think the only thing saving this place are the loyal customers and puzzling reviews from folks that evidently do not know southern BBQ or good comfort food. This establishment needs cooking lessons from someone from North Carolina, Georgia or somethingπ€¦π½ββοΈ
Ordered large takeout, and everything was ready on time, nice and hot. Moist tender ribs and fatty brisket. Burnt ends smothered in sweet sauce. The greens were tasty, should have ordered 2 quarts instead of just 1. Good size container of sauce included. Family enjoyed delicious meal! Staff working hard to get orders up, appreciate your efforts.
Very good BBQ! Lean brisket was moist, the ribs are to die for and the burnt ends were just as tasty. Cornbread was moist and flavorful. Wonderful dinner.
The 4 stars is because, theyve gotten a bit stingy with the amount of ribs they give, and you have to pay extra to get them as a meat on the combo, but the fact still remains that if perfection was obtainable Smoking Pig BBQ Co would win for perfectly smoked meats, OMG, when I say thee bomb it is an understatement, the sides arent shabby either, and the customer service is on pointWouldve given 4.5 stars if it was a thing. Thanks, for making todays lunch date delish!
Definitely one of the best southern BBQ joints near DTSJ. I always go for the 2 meat combo which is really fulfilling for one. The ribs and the beef briskets are the die-for. The homemade Mac n cheese is a must try if itβs your first time. The cheese is extra creamy and goes well with the meat too. What I really like about this place is the 4 different sauces they offer. The Kansas City hot sauce is just off the hook. Iβve been coming here for years and I will always be back for more.
Complete failure!! How could The Bones L&T recommend this trainwreck! Completely wrong order and no compensation - what a dump!!
We tried this restaurant and found it to be well worth the trip. Everything about it was fantastic, from the food to the facilities. My boyfriend and I have had a fantastic time here. A fantastic restaurant that we would enthusiastically recommend to anyone. Everyone did a fantastic job! Keep up the good work!
Best BBQ Iβve had outside of Texas! Great dining area and friendly staff. Highly recommend as a laid back Delicious BBQ restaurant with high quality food. Both times Ive been here Ive tried the pulled pork and the brisket. Great selection of drinks and food was brought out very quickly. Definitely a must visit.
I was at this location today and i had a bad experience with them. This guys should work a lot on their sides and they have to practice to serve their guests for sure. I ordered some smoked ribs with white rice and mashed potato. The server bring to me the plate, but donβt bring with him the fork and knife and after that never come back to ask me if iβm doing good. So i ate my ribs with my fingers.... the only thing why i put them 2 stars is because the ribs was really good. The restroom was dirty. Never will come back and donβt recommend anybody to try this place. This place is overrated for sure!
Total joke. Uber eats order cancelled and then said not talking orders. Definitely donβt count on this place if you use a delivery service because theyβll screw you in the end. Thanks for nothing
Food was good, a bit overpriced. Staff was prompt and professional. However for $6.50 I got the peach cobbler to go. It came with ice cream. Unfortunately the ice cream was placed on the cobbler so by the time I got home 15 minutes later, all we had waw a container of mushy dough and peaches. Being in the food service business, I would have hoped they would put ice cream in a separate container. Not sure if I will go back.
Saw the good reviews and decided to try Smoking Pig BBQ. Donβt judge the book by its cover - the restaurant doesnβt look that impressive from the outside, but it was awesome! So glad we went. Delicious food and awesome service. Meat was smoked perfectly and cooked to the perfect tenderness. Only down side I can point out is that due to the portion size, we didnβt have room for dessert. Parking was a little tough too because the lot was full and not much street parking available. I will be back.
Everything about this restaurant was great. The place was clean and smelled good. The staff and greeter was very nice.
The food was plentiful, tender and good. I had a brisket sandwich. The bun was fresh, the meat had a smoky mild flavor. The sauce complimented the brisket just right.
Stopped by for dinner and had a wonderful meal. The barbecue is fantastic and I really liked the California honey barbecue sauce. Also really enjoyed the cornbread and the mac and cheese was okay. The service was very friendly and helpful and I appreciated the beer recommendation the young lady made. I would totally go there again!
Good food. Extremely slow service. Only 6 other tables occupied including outside seating. Seated us outside, never came to take our order. Parking lot full but does not match patronage. Employees taking up all the minimal parking. Wont ever come back again.
Brisket is tender but not quite the right flavor. Maybe as close to good brisket as you can expect this far from Texas.
Is a nice and tasty BBQπ₯©π the smoked taste is balanced and juicy, the staff is kind
Ordered the 3 meat combo ribs brisket, and ordered a hot link but got another type of link but tasted good but wish they could have said that were out of hot links but got different type of sausage not complaining it was good
In from out of town for work. This really hit the spot for an almost home cooked taste. Great dining area and friendly staff. Highly recommend as a laid back Delicious BBQ restaurant with high quality food. Both times Ive been here Ive tried the pulled pork and the brisket. Great selection of drinks and food was brought out very quickly. Definitely a must visit.
This place offers good barbecue but it could be better. They have a good variety of meat. I opted for the 3 meat combo (Hot links, brisket & spare ribs) with corn bread and fries. Also shared the macaroni and cheese. The macaroni were pretty good. The hot links were good. The fries were not great, they didnt feel fresh and hot. The corn bread was actually good. The ribs were good. The brisket. The brisket started pretty good. The first two slices were very delicious but the last two were extremely salty. They liked the brisket for me.
Amazing food.. Had a great time.
Solid food. Their burger was fantastic. Id highly recommend.
... the meat is juicy and tender!!! And the chilli is FIREEEE!!! but the flavor for me was lacking on the BBQ sauce... was not anywhere close to spicy... the chilli had more of a kick that was to my liking!! The Mac and cheese is great too!! I dont even cheese but I tried my boyfriends and it was delicious! I would visit again... but would go for the chilli
Consistency is their main key! Love the meat here. Get some burnt ends, a two meat platter and the corn bread. This place surprisingly does excellent nachos too!
Still a disappointment. Ribs were under cooked. Hot link was dry, and no where near Hot. The potato salad was bland. The brisket was good, as well as the corn bread. This place used to be the bomb.
I may be biased because I live in Texas and the barbecue is better there, but the food here was really bland. Well, the brisket was awesome and very flavorful. The ribs, pulled pork, and Mac and cheese: not so much. I did like that they offered steamed rice as the carb, however. Also, the parking lot is not very big, so you may need need to park along the street and cross traffic to go inside.
I mean go here if you hate good food? Seriously any other bbq place is better. Its not even cafeteria quality. And the amount of food shown in my picture was $48. Absolute robbery. Brisket is dry and has no flavor. Mac and cheese tastes stale. Only reason the burnt ends are tolerable is the sauce. Insane cost on the chicken. Definitely not going back.
Delicious food & great service! Ill be back again when Im in town for a Comic Con!
Friendly staff. Soft, tasty, great flavor on the brisket, ribs and burnt ends. Though its a little pricey, it was well worth the price!!
I regret not trusting my nose when I walked in the door. The food was just horrible and what they served doesnt deserve to be called Texas BBQ. Their rib tips were dry and over cooked, the Mac n cheese had no flavor despite having brisket and pork in it. The key lime pie was ok but it was dropping and falling apart. This was officially the worst BBQ place I have ever visited and will never return.
Came here during lunch for a training few blocks away. Not sure why I didnt invite anyone else. Maybe because I was just thinking I didnt want to be talked out of going. I had the Tuesday lunch special which is chopped pork/beef sandwich and side for $6.50. Worth every penny. It was overflowing with meat so much that I had to use a fork. Cajun fries were tasty. Super fast and friendly service. I need to come more often.
Although the place and location is not im expecting, but definitely the food so delicious and juicy. We ordered burger and ala cart ribs. OMG so tender and juicy. Sauce wise very good!
Food always good! This place reminds me of my Uncles old restaurant on the East Bay. Definitely has a down home Southern ambiance. Barbecue always cooked to perfection. Love this hidden gem!
My husband and I went here after looking at the reviews people had posted and I must say, it was better than we had expected! The place has a very casual vibe to it, the staff is extremely friendly and respond very quickly to ay of your requests. The insides are very comfortable and the atmosphere is very relaxed!Coming to the food, they have four different type of bbq sauce on each table to accompany your food! I had ordered their Pulled Chicken Sammy, the chicken was very soft and the bun was commendable! There was Mac and Cheese on the side. My husband tried their Seven Months Brisket(he ended up eating more than he should have!) and the potato grenade(the grenade is not less than a real grenade-it is potato filled with mac and cheese and wrapped with bacon π)The place is very comfortable and can be enjoyed by both families and group of friends catching up over a beer.Overall, amazing place, we would go again for sure!!
Best ribs we have had. Fantastic ribs, very meaty juicy delish, not too smokey and separate sauce if needed which they didnt. The coleslaw, potato salad and fries accompanying the ribs were justa bonus we never expected to taste so good.
Brisket was tough, chewy, bland, and looked odd. No color.Beans had a literal pool of grease on top, coated the tongue. Flavor was okay, but Id rather have canned beans.Cornbread was semi-translucent, it was so greasy. Not worth $20 for the one meat plate, fast food bbq punches higher.
Would give two and a half stars if possible. Ordered take out Saturday night heard good things, the wolf pups were dripping in grease and way too oily, ribs were dry and overly burnt on the top, wings were ok, signature pork burger was ok, fries super soggy, corn bread was probably the best thing less oily and good.
Great BBQ, and this is coming from someone who lives in Tulsa and KC, which has some of the best. I had the ribs and brisket with beans and corn bread. I will definitely be coming back everytime I fly from San Jose. The BBQ sauces are all very good, partial to the Classic Sauce. Unfortunately they were out of the hot links, so guess I just have to come back!
Menu online does not even have prices. I am sure you get there and sticker shock. Too pricey to list. They say contact doordash to find out. Amazing service...
Not for meMy feelings about this place could stem from cultural differences. So, I should say upfront, that I am english and from London .A large slab of meat and two pots of carbohydrate served on a metal tray really dont do it for me. The meal was solid and overwhelming and there was not a vegetable in sight .The service was very attentive and if you like over seasoned, over sweet slabs of meat youll love it.
This place was so good I came back everyday because I live down the street and my girl dont cook for me but even if she did I would still come here every day
