Paper Moon Cafe brings a very special energy to downtown. They do the fundamentals well: good coffee, good (self-roasted) beans, creative coffee/tea cocktails. But they do so much more because they are very involved in the local community. Youll see murals and artwork by local artists. Youll see local musicians playing outside on select days. They provide water and resources to the needy. They have pop-up shops for various local bakeries and businesses. The staff has created a laid back, energetic atmosphere that I find infectious.
Loved this spot! So happy they serve boba and I love the cat aesthetic. Not a lot of people hang out in there so its a great place to get work done. I will definitely be back!
The coffee is amazing and its great service. Also, for iced drinks, they use thin plastic film instead of a bulky top (think Starbucks plastic top). A bit more environmentally friendly which is nice.
I’ve been here a lot and I love it. It’s so cute and the coffee is so good! Everyone is super helpful and welcoming.
This is a great spot with phenomenal selection of coffee and drinks (pastries soon!). Owner and staff, who care profoundly about the quality of their product, are always amicable with quick service. Coffee is consistently delicious, quenching my thirst with a boost of much needed caffeine. Lots of safeguards in place for covid, outdoor seating available. Plenty of parking around. Highly recommend and definitely my source for my iced mocha.
Super kind baristas and great coffee! Really nice spot downtown with cool pop ups on occasion also.
Their menu options are great, and their customer service is above and beyond what is necessary! Very thoughtful, helpful staff
Love the shop. Len is awesome, good music and local vendors merch.
Cool and small cafe, nice coffee. They are a little inconsistent with the coffee I had here, 2 of them were great 1 was just ok.
I love the black sesame and taro drinks. They also just added a delicious selection of plant based breakfast options
Really cool and thoughtful little place. Its a bright spot in the community and exactly the sort of place that can make San Jose better. The London fog drink was so delicious and beautiful! Long live Paper Moon!!
Incredible flat white australian style! Maybe best in bay area. Definitely will be a regular!
Cute little cafe that supports the community.Very friendly staff with a great menu.Parking can be difficult but the trip and drinks are worth the time.
Friendly staff great drinks.
Everyone at Paper Moon Cafe were so friendly & personable. The coffee was just as good as Ive been hearing. Ill definitely be going back.
I went to try out this place for their black sesame latte and foam art. The workers and the owner are very friendly and super helpful; they know their menu and preferences. I really enjoy the vibe and what they stand for as a small business opening up during COVID. I’ve tried many things on their menu. Their coffee is strong and has a kick. The black sesame needs to be shaken here and there so it doesn’t sit at the bottom. I prefer the oat milk over regular milk for my drinks. I come here often even though it’s a little far from where I live.
I have yet to be a customer there, I stopped in for the little pantry they had. But after reading the reviews Im certainly going to stop in for some tea.
Wonderful gem to visit! We will be back soon
The owner is very friendly and has given me some free drinks. I especially like the Thai tea! Im not much of a coffee drinker but they come in fairly small cups, which I would say is the drawback for the price.
Great service, great drinks, and a great addition to the dtsj community! Hit them up for boba, coffee, or boba in your coffee!
Good coffee, cool staff, weird hours
Just WOW! Paper Moon is a boba and coffee shop located in the heart of downtown San Jose. It offers something I have personally never seen before in the bay area, boba lattes. You heard that right. Boba. Lattes. I have so far tried the Purple Latte (taro based) and the black sesame latte (obv black sesame based) and both are excellent. They serve both of these in hot and cold. It is definitely a nice alternative to the usual bland starbucks lattes and is more flavorful. Not to mention, being an SF native, it is nice to see another location carry Minor Figures Oatmilk. I was surprised they carried this as I know only of one other store in SF that has it. This place isnt another one of those boba shops. Its trying something new, something innovative. And in both those things it succeedsHighly recommend 5/5.P.S I have yet to try the boba itself, will update it when I have the opportunity to try it.
Very sweet owner! And excellent coffees!
