Today, I came to Southgate Liquors to purchase a drink. An hour after I had finished this Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino I started feeling sick. I went to check the date on the coffee and it was expired since 1/25/21. That is three month old coffee which is still ON THE SHELF. There seemed to be a lot of workers but apparently dont have the time to check expiration dates on their products. I highly believe that a lot of other products that are on their shelves are getting expired with the store having no concern. I recommend people to check the expiration date before they purchase any soda, candy, beer, and other products from this store.

This is one of the best wine shops in town. If you dont have time to travel to the wine area, visit the wine shop and sample some of their offerings. Come to us! It comes highly recommended!

This place is not your average corner store liquor store. Besides your standard Modellos, Coors and Bud Lights, this place also has many, many different craft beers. If you are interested in trying a novel beer such as Warheads Candy Beer or want a novel IPA, this is a place to try out. Staff is pretty nice too. The parking lot is full of crazy characters too. Just dont get too close.

A great shopping experience will be found here with welcoming staff and a wide selection of craft beers. I must commend them on their recommendation of certain beers that were absolutely delicious ! I will be back for more great flavors they have in stock. By the way, I requested a Karl Strauss beer that they didnt have ( and they dont normally carry )....but were willing to find it for me which I think was AWESOME.

Great purchasing experience. Received a beer delivery for all SOURs including smoothies, slushies, tart ales, sour ales and gose! Great selection and was able to get my order next day! Very impressed with the Southgate team and their professionalism and response time! Highly recommend!

I am a driver, today go here to pick up the guests order, I regret not to have the waiter to provide help, I see three waiters there is very leisurely, there is also an older waiter, very unprofessional, the guests need items no one can find! If you cant do the outgoing service, you can close it. Do n t waste your time. This shop is really garbage

This liquor store is generally really busy and thats because you can literally find any kind of liquor, spirits or beer here. If youre into local craft beers Id definitely check out this place theyre pretty awesome!

Worst place to go.

Holy smokes- the creepy backroom with coolers full of craft beers from all over the place is impressive. Plan on spending at least a half-hour just window shopping!

I ordered from here through Drizly for a delivery. Out of the 14 items I ordered that Southgate had listed as in stock, they only actually had 3. I set my preferences to allow the store to choose replacements for anything out of stock, never dreaming it would be more than 75% of my order. They selected kombuchas and a whiskey soda to replace things like IPAs and a hard lemonade. Seriously. I do not recommend this store. Their employees do not seem to have a good knowledge of spirits if they made those substitutions.

They have a great selection of beer but theres no prices Ive gotten the same 4 beers and have had two different totals at the register... on 3 diffrent occasions its not by much but still its inconsistent...id like to give it 5 stars but thats my only gripe

Looking for a random California craft beer? Youre probably going to find it at Southgate. Great local liquor store, theres always crazy action in the parking lot so stay aware of your surroundings. But the place itself is awesome!

OVERPRICED STALE BEER!!!!! I walked in there to check out the beer selection, which is decent, I chose 2 medium size bottles and it totaled over $35. Just for 2 beers $35 you must be out of your mind. So I went with one because I liked it even though it was way over priced. I got home and the beer tasted nasty, god knows how long they sit on that beer.

If you go by your middle name they dont want your business. Ive been buying from this store for more than a decade using my credit card, but yesterday the large guy all of a sudden said I needed to show ID, which I promptly showed him. He told me I could make a purchase just this once but hell no longer accept my credit card because my ID lists my first, middle and last name, but my credit card uses my middle name - the name I go by. He was pretty much an uppity jerk about the whole thing, and didnt care about keeping me as a customer. Theyve lost a loyal customer because of this utterly stupid move. Great job big guy. Ill go to Clydes at Snell & Capital from now on.

They dont believe in air conditioning, as the place felt like it was over 90° inside. The candy bar was almost melted and my clothes were damp with sweat when I left. What a disappointment to say the least! After reading my review, I decided to change it from 2 to 1 star, because they dont even deserve a 2.

Ive been going here since the 4th grade, when I was in the area, and now that we live in our old place we continue to go there. My step Dad used to come ( RIP MARIO ) here as well. The Family who owned the liquor store knew my Familía very well so this store holds a lot of good memories. Most of the time they actually have good sale prices on items we happen to need at the moment. I would definitely recommend everyone to stop by at least once.

I dont live in San Jose but when I come to my girlfriends house I always stop by for the craft cans. There is always something new and for a liqour store the prices arent that bad.

The store is ok. Just dont wear flip flops or go bare footed here in parking lot here too many needles in the parking lot.
